@yugirl made a ship meme for connectionshipping and I wanted to make one for galileanshipping.

Galileanshipping is a GX/5Ds polyship created by @kitsunephantom09 and myself, involving Jaden/Judai Yuki x Bastion/Daichi Misawa x Yusei Fudo x Jack Atlas. “Galilean” comes from the Galilean moons of Jupiter for which there are four major ones: Io, Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto.

Io is a moon covered in active volcanoes. Much like Jack’s Burning Soul. Europa is a moon covered in ice, much like Yusei’s Stardust Dragon and his calming yet cool demeanor. Ganymede, though another icy moon, is the largest and has the greatest magnetic pull. Much like Jaden, it draws attention and has a surface that retains both cold and hot. Callisto is the second largest moon, and yet does not retain the magnetic pull from Jupiter. It is outside the connection and therefore is not affected by tidal heating. It, too, is the most heavily cratered moon. Much like Bastion, it is alone and apart, scarred from years of abandonment, yet it is the most helpful, considered to be the best habitable moon for human life.

With the Galilean moons, the ship was created, giving a tie to the movement of space and time.

But now, onto the ship meme part!

Who made the first move;

Technically it was an equal part from Jaden and Yusei. Jaden and Bastion were already in a relationship just as Yusei and Jack were. Yusei and Jaden met in BBT, and never forgot one another. Soon, they wanted to involve their current lovers, so Jaden and Yusei brought them all together and spoke honestly, telling the two they wanted to form a poly relationship.

Who said ‘I love you’ first;

Between Bastion and Jaden, Jaden said it first. Since returning from the Spirit World, he’s had a greater appreciation for people and those who stuck by his side, as well as those who suffer from their own darknesses. He learned to see Bastion and to learn from him, eventually forming into a deep love that couldn’t be contained.



Between Yusei and Jack, Jack said it first in an annoyed rage. They ended up together soon after that.

Between Yusei and Jaden, Yusei said it first. After bending time to see each other once more, Yusei found himself just unable to let Jaden go. He told him in full earnest emotions that he loved him and wanted him to stay in his era.



Between Yusei and Bastion, Yusei said it first. Yusei fell deeply in love with Bastion’s calculating thoughts, his need to write formulas, and his beauty and intelligence. It sort of just came out of his mouth, watching Bastion write his thoughts down upon the wall. And he just opened his mouth to compliment his ideas, but a ‘I love you’ came instead. Bastion didn’t talk to Yusei for a week, too flustered to even look him in the eye properly.



Between Bastion and Jack, it was Bastion. Their relationship starts off rocky, not as committed as the others are. But after some time, Bastion and Jack find they have a mutual affection for each other. Jack doesn’t know how to label it. Bastion does, and after a heated fight, Bastion states that he doesn’t want bad blood between them because he loves Jack. And from there on out, their relationship got better.

Between Jaden and Jack, they don't remember who said it first. They just seem to have said they loved each other always.

How often do they fight;

They have petty fights, small things that irk them that cause annoyance and talks. Yusei and Bastion are ones who want to talk everything out while Jaden and Jack are much more inclined to physical relief. Their petty fights don’t amount to much, but their big ones are disastrous. Often, its between Bastion and Jack the most as they have opposite opinions on several matters that are important to them. Yusei and Jaden often run interference. Yusei rarely fights with anyone, and it is typically resolved quickly. Jaden rarely fights, and if he does, he usually settles it with a duel or a fist fight.

Who’s the big spoon/little spoon;

There are two constants and there are two that change depending on the sleeping cycle or habits. Yusei is always the big spoon. He enjoys holding his partners and making them feel safe. Bastion is always the little spoon. He never asks for it, but his shoulders often slump in a way that indicates he needs affection, and his partners are more than willing to provide.

Jaden and Jack are flexible. They cuddle as the dynamics need or what they want. But, in a percentage, Jaden is big spoon 75% of the time and little spoon 25%. Jack is big spoon 45% of the time and little spoon 55%.

What are their nicknames for each other;

Yusei: (to Bastion) Bas; (to Jaden) Jay; (to Jack) my King

Jaden: (to Yusei) babe, daddy, Yu; (to Bastion) Bas, Basy, babe, pretty boy; (to Jack): Jackie, babe, baby, my King[after hearing from Yusei]

Bastion: he doesn’t really do nicknames, mainly calling everyone but their full name, but he does at times call Jaden ‘Jay’ when he’s flustered or aroused.

Jack: doesn’t really call anyone nicknames other than shortening Bastion to Bas and Jaden to Jay.

Who’s the better cook;

Bastion and Jack. Jack is the best cook of them all, having taken time to learn while under Godwin’s custody as it was often a stress reliever. Bastion is a bit of a health nut, so he cooks and enjoy it to make healthy snacks while Jack is all about baking treats and cakes.

Who remembers their anniversaries;

Bastion the most. He’s very aware of holidays and birthdays as well as anniversaries as he wants his partners to feel loved and adored. Yusei is a close second as he often makes sure their anniversaries are directed toward Bastion the most. Jack and Jaden don’t really care and often forget. To them its just another day. Yusei understands that to Bastion, it’s an event of their love, lasting longer and longer, and he is the one who needs the reminder the most. So Yusei is always sure that Bastion knows they all know (even if he’s the one reminding Jack and Jaden).

Their favorite thing to do together (besides sex);

Jack and Jaden love dueling one another. Either in standing duels or riding duels, they get the greatest enjoyment in challenging one another and beating the ever-living crap out of one another.

Yusei and Bastion adore working on projects together. That could be deck building or bike updating or even house updates or plans. They plan it out and they figure out all the nuances of their projects and they absolutely lose themselves in each other.

Jaden and Bastion love to cuddle. Jaden always starts it, Bastion just letting him hold him or pull him into his lap or Jaden lying on his. They can be in bed sleeping or they can be relaxing on the couch reading/watching tv, but their favorite thing is to physically be near one another.

Jaden and Yusei are often training, Yusei learning to harness his Clear Mind and Jaden controlling his Darkness powers. The two powers work pretty well to repel each other as well as work together. Jaden loves using his powers and Yusei loves pushing their limits as well as experimenting (sometimes Jack joins using Burning Soul while Bastion helps keep track of their scores/health/stats/etc. but more often than not, its mainly just Yusei and Jaden's thing)

Jack and Bastion are also cuddlers, but often they have emotional chats. Bastion and Jack just lie beside one another in the semi darkness of Jack’s room, talking in quiet tones about all sorts of emotional stuff. Babies, families, traumas, sex, fights, parents, growing up, etc. All sorts of things where they are crying or smiling or laughing.

Who ‘wears the pants’ in the relationship;

Yusei always wears the pants.

Jaden always wears the pants for Bas and Jack, and will sometimes wear the pants for Yusei but mostly doesn’t for him.

Jack wears the pants for Bas, but does not for Yusei and Jaden.

Bastion never wears the pants.

How they would get engaged;

Everyone but Bas aren’t really into marriage. They see no need for it. Bastion follows in their thoughts and never proposes, but he does dream of the idea of getting married. They do, however, eventually get married but more for financial and medical reasons than for romantic ones. Yusei and Bastion marry as Yusei understand Bastions dream for it better, and they take it much more seriously. So Yusei proposes to Bastion in a small but simple way, walking around town and then getting on one knee with a ring in hand. Bastion, of course, flushes red and cries, mumbling a yes before Yusei is standing, slipping the ring on, and kissing the daylights out of Bastion. When they do finally marry, Bastion takes on Yusei’s name in a hyphenation so he becomes Bastion Misawa-Fudo.

Jaden and Jack marry for the financial/medical reasons. They don't particularly do a proposal, they just say 'we should do it for xyz.' They do not take on each other’s name, and they don’t make a big deal of it.

What would their wedding be like;

Though they don’t care for marriage, each married couple does have a wedding.

Bastion and Yusei have a calm wedding with family and close friends where the only media allowed is Carly. The media is allowed since Yusei is a figure for the people, but mostly it is just the enjoyment of each other. Yusei wears a black tuxedo. Bastion wears a white tuxedo (though I have thought of Bastion wearing a white wedding gown). Their rings would be simple, just silver bands. But on the inside would be all of their names etched.

Jack and Jaden have a much bigger wedding with all the press and all the bells and whistles. Jack makes it a big extravaganza, wearing his best tuxedo with the finest threads. Jaden would wear a red tuxedo. There would be talk that Jaden is similar to the famous ‘Jaden Yuki’ that disappeared years ago, but often it is thought he is just named after the same man. They don’t correct that thinking. They too have simple silver bands, much to the presses’ disappointment, but inside is also all of their names.

How many kids would they have;

This has been plotted between Kit and I for a long while, as well as a recent addition from Yugirl.

Jack Atlas (mommy) + Jaden Yuki (papa) = Shiloh Yuki (female)

Jack Atlas (mommy) + Yusei Fudo (daddy) = Lily Fudo (female)

“Okay, so, hold the sword-” he sighed exasperatedly as she held the weapon with two hands instead of one, like he had told her. “No- no no, not with two hands just one, I’ve already told you that!” Her head snapped up at him in frustration.

“I can hardly carry this thing with two hands, let alone one! This sword is too damn heavy for me to carry!” He grumbled in annoyance and stalked towards her in frustration. He tore the bladed weapon out of her hands to demonstrate how “easy” it was.

“How is this too heavy? This is one of the lightest swords we have on this ship!” He turned and glared at her as he swung the weapon around with ease.

“Well, excuse you, you’ve had years of experience with this! My father would never have let me even take a glance at a weapon without scolding me! This is the first time I’ve seen a weapon in person!” She waved her hands around wildly in exasperation.

“Then why are you here?! You said you wanted to have your own freedom, and yet you complain about not being able to pick up a sword! Things are different here in the real world than the little cooped up world you’ve lived in your whole li-!” She cried out in anger.

“I’m not trying to complain about the damned sword! It’s the way you’re teaching me! Your treating me like I should be a skilled swordsman when you know where I come from. Yes, I want to be free, but give me time to adjust! Give me time to get the hang of things before you start pushing me too much!” The deck was filled with silence other than Aki’s constant heaving for breath. She growled in frustration. “You know what! Forget this, I’m done for the day!” She stormed off down into the entrance of the hall which led to the personal chambers. Bruno, who had been busying himself with maintaining the ship looked up at him sheepishly.

“I was planning addressing that issue with you myself, but at a later time. Though, she basically summarized most of what I had wanted to say,” he explained, slowly hunching up his shoulders out of fear the blue eyed captain would yell at him. Bruno could hardly see Yusei’s blue eyes from underneath the dark shadow that his long black fringe cast upon his eyes as he tilted his head down. Yusei clenched his fist and whipped around to face Bruno.

“She wants her own freedom she says, she asks if I can train her and she complains! She’s seriously pissing me off right now!” Bruno winced at how furious Yusei sounded as he began pacing back and forth frustratedly. “It’s like she’s purposely doing this!” He raised his foot and stomped it against the ground furiously. “What am I doing wrong? I’m treating her like I would a new soldier recruit! And she still doesn’t get it, how does she not understand how to hold a sword?!” He whipped around and turned to face Bruno, who winced at how angry Yusei looked.

“W-Well, that’s the thing,” he mumbled sheepishly, twiddling his fingers together. “She’s not a recruit soldier, she is- was, the daughter of a nobleman. She was raised to be a,” he raised his hand and made quotation signs with his fingers. “Perfect child. She’s not used to combat at all, and I get that it’s essential that she learns how to fight, however, I agree with her that you are pushing her too hard. It’s like handing an infant a gun and expecting it to get perfect and clear shots. Give her a few days to adjust to this new life, and maybe she’ll become a better combatant than most of us here, who knows. For now though, we should give her some time to calm down and wait until she’s ready again.” Yusei sighed and nodded in understanding.

“I think Bruno’s right on this one Yus! She’s not used to this at all, she’ll get used to it eventually!” The two looked up to see Crow sliding down on one of the ropes connected to the mast of the ship and landed gracefully next to the two men. “She’s in her what, late teens? Just give her time, she’s got the motivation to live life the way she wants to, but you gotta give her time, it’s only been what. Two days since she got here?” Bruno nodded in agreement. Crow looked up at Yusei and Bruno. “Tell you what, why don’t Bruno and I help you next time you have a training session with her?” Yusei sighed reluctantly and nodded in understanding.

The day continued to drag on, though, Yusei couldn’t help but be slightly worried when Aki didn’t show up in the dining hall for dinner, but he knew better than to make contact with her, he assumed she was still furious from the day’s earlier events, so he left her be. Eventually, the sun began to set, and the sky was covered with the of so familiar dark blanket of stars. Seeing as the day dragged along and was uneventful, Yusei wasn’t too surprised when he found he wasn’t tired. He sat up to face the wall after what he guessed was about an hour or two of tossing and turning on his mattress. He sighed and rubbed his eyes as he stood and decided to go out and stare at the stars. The wooden floorboards released soft groans as he walked out of his chambers and onto the deck. He was surprised to find a certain red haired woman standing out towards the corner looking out in the distance, he turned his eyes to the left and found a sword. Yusei turned his eyes back towards her once more as the sound of her grumbling caught his attention. He walked over to the sword and as he picked it up, he noticed a small amount of blood on it. His eyes raised in curiosity as he walked over to her.

“Hey,” he greeted. She cried out in surprise and he could see her visibly wince and jump, and almost off of the railing. He quickly dropped the weapon and reached his arms out to catch her before she fell overboard. His arms rested around her waist, steadying her as her hands gripped the railings to the point that her knuckles were white and she heaved in and out, probably still frantic. He pulled her away from the rail gently as he backed up and gave her space to breath. Her face was flushed red as she quickly brushed her clothes off and fixed her appearance. She looked up at him with an annoyed look on her features, almost a pout. Her face reminded him of a small child pouting for not getting something they wanted.

“What do you want?” She crossed her arms over her chest and leaned her weight against her left foot. She leaned back so she could lean against the railing. He sighed and held up the sword and motioned to it. Then, as he looked at her, he noticed the small piece of cloth torn off and wrapped around her hand.

“What were you doing?” He raised an eyebrow and motioned to the bandaged hand with his eyes. Her eyes widened before she uncrossed her arms and put them behind her back.

“N-Nothing, why?” He sighed and walked up to her before reaching behind her and forcefully grabbing her arm. He pulled it forward and accidentally pulled her forward as well, sending her tumbling into his arms. She quickly pulled away from him, but he would not let go of her arm. “What are you-?!”

“How did you cut your hand? Did you do it intentionally?” She winced and glared at him coldly.

“Are you kidding me?! Do you really think I’d do something so foolish?!” She finally found the strength to tear her arm out of his grip. “I was practicing trying to hold up the damned sword, but I dropped it and without thinking I grasped the blade with my hand, and it cut my palm open!” He paused in slight surprise. She had been practicing? That wasn’t really what he expected her to be doing, he thought that she’d be asleep or something else. He eyebrow quirked in suspicion.

“Why in the middle of the night?” She looked away from him.

“Because I thought you’d be sleeping and not nagging me. Guess I was wrong about that.” She frowned slightly before looking up at the moon. “Plus it isn’t as hot as in the daytime.” He hummed in understanding.

“It is indeed incredibly hot out here.” He sat down and hesitantly patted the spot next to him. She huffed and turned to face the other way, but accepted the invitation and took a seat next to him. She crossed her legs and leaned her elbows against her knees as she stared up at the stars.

“I was never able to really see the star or night sky like this back at that place.” Her head turned down to look at her hands.

“Why don’t you just call it home?” He stared at her and frowned slightly as her eyes drooped sadly.

“Because it never felt like a home. A home is supposed to feel warm and comfortable to you, but that place just felt cold and lonely, empty even.”

“But your father was a senator, you probably were surrounded with lots of people how could you be lonely?” He honestly didn’t understand her mindset, but if they’re going to be staying on the same boat, might as well try.

“Yeah, people who only cared about me for publicity and my father. I’d rather have been alone than be used for something like that.”

“Oh.” There was a silence for a few seconds that stretched on as the waves continued to splash and the clouds continued to move and the stars continued to twinkle.

“I don’t want to be known as just, ‘The Senator’s Daughter,’ I want to be known by my own name, and being tied down in marriage certainly won’t let me do that.” Yusei paused as his mind flashed back to the man that she was supposed to be married to. His fern green eyes glimmered with a sick sadistic need of something as he looked at Aki, but he’d rather not find out what that need was and what it had to do with her. Something about him had just set Yusei off and made him upset. That stupid cowlick hair of his for some reason deeply pissed him off. The dude seemed like a complete manipulative asshat straight off the bat as soon as Yusei made eye contact with him. “Then, I stumbled across you at that bar. I guess I found that we, in some ways, were similar at the time. Both trapped in a curse, we’re both trying to get out of it, and a few other things. I guess, no, I knew then that I had made my decision. I had wanted to be free, so, when I saw your ship, I snuck on it. I honestly don’t know why I chose to sneak in with you guys, but I can’t say that I regret my decision. I’m glad I chose to do this, I really am.” She looked up at him. “And I promised myself that I’d work hard to try and meet you guys’ expectations so that I wouldn’t be left behind. So, that I could come on par with you guys. I refuse to play the part of the rich girl who’s damsel in distress and can’t carry her own weight.” A fiery look of determination flashed in her eyes. Yusei suddenly understood why she was upset, he was holding her image to someone she refused to be. Perfect. She refuses to be perfect, she’s been living in a society that’s been harsh if she doesn’t act in a certain manner or play her part. “But I can’t do that in a span of two days you know. I wish that was possible but it’s not, but I’ll try harder.” The look she gave as she said that made his instincts scream at him to do something, just anything to let her know that she’s not alone at the moment, but he held himself back. Would she be upset? He doesn’t know, he still doesn’t know her as an individual person. The only thing he knows is that she’s determined to have the freedom she desires, and that she’s the daughter of a nobleman, but nothing else. He reached his hand out towards her, but hesitated. His mind kept screaming at him to do something even as he withdrew his hand, he didn’t know why he pulled his hand back. He just did. He could tell she had been waiting for something, but a look formed in her eyes, but he couldn’t describe what it was. Maybe it was sadness? A miserable sort of acceptance maybe? He didn’t know what it was, but he regretted not doing anything the minute that look flashed in her beautiful eyes. Overcome by the new sensation of guilt for not doing anything and many other things, he stood up and briskly headed back to his quarters, murmuring nothing more than a simple good night under his breath. As soon as he reached his quarters, he realized that was the last thing he should’ve done. He sat on the bed frame of his mattress and placed his hand over his eyes in frustration. God he fucked up, he kept cursing himself, he should’ve tried to talk to her more, not just run away! He wound up falling asleep, but not without the guilt traced on his face. The next morning, he woke up startled by the sound of gunshots. He quickly bolted out of his room and grabbed his hat and coat as he ran out onto the deck, but was greeted with a surprise.

“Crow, Bruno! What the hell is-?!” Crow and Bruno had a look of shock on their faces at how well Aki’s aiming was. She held a gun with a target board a couple of meters away. Three bullet holes all extremely close to the center of the target.

“Holy shit,” Crow murmured, aghast with what happened. “Yo! Izayoi! Why didn’t you tell us you could use a gun?! If you told us earlier we would’ve just let you be!” Crow waved his hands exasperatedly.

“That’s the thing,” She turned around to face the two men. “This is my first time using a gun, but I have a good aim.” She shrugged sheepishly, seeming a little surprised herself with how well she did with a gun. The twins came sprinting out onto the deck as well.

“What happened,” they shouted in unison. “What was with those gunshots?!” They paused as they registered the sight before them until one jumped up in excitement. “That looks so cool! You using a gun and all being badass!” The other twin smacked the first in the back.

“Language Rua!”

“Sorry, Ruka.” Aki smiled and laughed softly while rubbing the back of her neck sheepishly.

“It seems that what you needed wasn’t more pushing, just an adjustment,” Bruno pointed out. He specifically turned and looked at Yusei. “Maybe as time goes on and with more practice your aiming will get better.”

“Yeah, I’ll help out,” Crow piped up excitedly. Her eyes widened at the statement in shock, but softened. Yusei felt his chest tighten as he lost his breath for a short moment. Her amber, almost golden under the sunlight, eyes glimmered with appreciation and hope. He could tell her exact thoughts just from her eyes, he looked at her and tried to make it as clear as he could without saying anything. She turned and looked at him. ‘You’re not alone anymore.’ Her eyes widened in understanding at the new revelation, and she smiled.

“Thanks you guys,” she murmured. Her voice was a bit shaky and her head was downcast. The twins quickly noticed, and Ruka stepped up to her.

“W-What’s wrong? Did we say something bad?” Aki began laughing softly as she lifted her head, wiping tears from her eyes before they shed.

“No,” she sniffed and rubbed her arm across her eyes, a certain spot of the fabric of her sleeved shirt appearing darker. “I just really appreciate the help.” It was a while later after the events of the morning that Yusei realized, there was so much more meaning to that sentence than she let on. She’s glad, she doesn’t feel as alone as before. She’s at some form of peace.

“Maybe I’ll find mine as well, just at a later time.” He pulled back the sleeve of his shirt and stared at the mark. His own special little curse. He frowned slightly at the thought of it and all th pain it brought him. “Maybe someday I’ll be rid of this curse.”
