i will say i do think some of you are absurdly hard on nancy as a character like. you can just not like her and move on you know
#like you dont have to pull out some analysis or bullet proof list as to why u think shes horrible lol#its funny bc some of the ppl who get mad at nancy fans for comparing her to .. other female characters. are the ones who constantly#drag her down#im not saying the way she handled the breakup with steve wasnt shitty#but i am saying ive basically been steve and it sucks and its horrible but its also a little normal for teenagers to like#have shitty breakups lol#like 'the audacity to get mad' i think she was confused bc she was wasted when she said all that? it still sucked but like#i think a lot of ppl also forget that she is a very traumatized teenager who lost her best friend and trauma doesnt excuse#shitty behavior. but yall do not cut any slack whatsoever#i think her relationship with steve was kind of just her trying to move on and feel somewhat normal and like#it sucks that he was used in that was but shes 16/17 and probably very confused on those feelings anyway?#yall are all about 'let mike be annoying!' and bitchy to max lol and rightfully so bc hes 12#and probably dealing with some Internal Conflict#but god forbid nancy makes mistakes and acts shittily and not like the girl next door archetype#youre not creative for holding her to a different standard than your male faves#and no im not trying to make this into a girlboss thing and She can treat ppl like shit bc shes a woman#but i am trying to look at it with slightly more nuance lmfao#like its a tv show theres going to be drama and realistically it was pretty obvious they were going to break up#so im not sure why yall have to sit here and flip shit over it like 4 years later#like ive criticized b*lly stans who are hopefully not following me now if they ever were but#even the steve/jonathan/st*nathan (just dont want to be in the tag) stans#youre fr like 'i can excuse steve calling jon a queer i can excuse jon taking creep shots of nancy and never apologizing#but i will draw the line at nancy calling her relationship with steve bullshit!'#like shut the fuck up lmfao and yes ik steve grew past his shitty s1 behavior and thats why we all love him#but if youre stuck up jonathan's/charlie's ass you have literally no right to sit there and shit on nancy#all im saying besties is nuance can be your best friend if you try <3#(if the other thing u dont like is the way she and jonathan interacted in s3 me neither but that doesnt mean nancys the devil <3)#me: you dont have to defend not liking her just move on smh#me: proceeds to rant profusely in the tags for my own cause#srry guys im a hypocrite
