#transworldwednesday - A Corgi edition of 'My Darling, My Hamburger' by Paul Zindel. I first discovered Zindel when I bought a copy of 'Pardon Me, You're Stepping on my Eyeball' in a library book sale for 10p! I instantly loved his warm and quirky writing style and acquired a lot more of his books. I mentioned Zindel to a friend, who just happened to be obsessed with the film 'Dangerous Minds' staring Michelle Pfeiffer, only to discover that 'My Darling, My Hamburger' is mentioned in the film. So I re-watched it... Oh dear... Pfeiffer's character is not complimentary and says anything has got to be better than teaching the kids this book! Did this scene effect the reputation of this book? Like how Clark Gable killed the undershirt industry in 'It Happened One Night' or how people stopped drinking Merlot after watching 'Sideways'...
