Can you explain the timeline of How We Break please 🥺

omg hi!! it's been so long since i got to talk about hwb!! it was my first ever series and most comprehensive work and im so so thankful and glad that it's still receiving traction till now <33

the main series consists of three chronological parts which diverge from canon lore (like i genuinely said 'no thanks' to canon and then ran with my little lore)

part one - mamaguro (she was unnamed throughout hwb) returns. i never really expounded on why she left or why did she return, just that she did, and that led to toji breaking up with the reader. it was meant to be a short drabble that was why there was nothing established but i didnt expect it to receive sm love :'>

part two - reader moves in with their friend for a while after the break up. there's a little time skip before reader gets a call from toji wanting to meet up. in that meet up toji apologized (callously at first), reader gets to have a final moment with megumi (reader practically became his mom), and gojo popped up as a hinted new love interest

part three - this exists as a slow progression of time crawling by and a build up of time skips. it's bite-sized scenarios strung together, all of which existed based off of interaction with my readers! which is why it feels very choppy and disjointed. but basically: everyone's moving on. toji internalizes what happens, and mamaguro is guilty but because of this, they grow closer. gojo and reader are friends but gojo is in love with reader; it takes them literal years before they get together. toji proposed to mamaguro again. wedding scene of gojo and reader :D

there's a bunch of what-if's snippets (or literal fics bc i didn't know how to stop rambling) about certain scenarios but they didn't affect the pt 01 and 02, while some of them heavily influenced pt 03! my favourite would probably be the aiko story which is reader and toji having a son - i liked it too much that i developed the aiko story through multiple ficlets HSHAHSH
