I wanted to make a request with Tom: actress!reader works with Z in a movie and then she works with Haz or Harry, and they all want to introduce her to Tom (bc they would be amazing together) and he doesn’t want to meet her or couldn’t care less about that until he met her and he is all like 😍 PLEASE

“Mate, I really don’t get why you want me to meet her. What’s so special about her?” Harry couldn’t tell if Tom was groaning or whining. Probably both. Harry was fully prepared to take whatever bullshit Tom had come up with this time to avoid meeting you. Truthfully when he could avoid interacting with new people, he would. And since he had only been home for a couple of days, he didn’t want to interact with anyone that wasn’t Harrison, Tessa, or his family.

“Trust me. You’ll love them.” It was all Harry could say. Even though he’d already told Tom those exact words thousands of times, usually paired with a reason why, but this time he didn’t bother. Harry was already dragging Tom to meet Zendaya and you. He’d only told Tom you were going to be there while they were in the car. Tom groaned in response and then began to scroll through instagram.

Tom first saw you and you looked nervous, despite the laugh that Z had caused. One of your arms was crossed over your chest, holding the tricep of your other arm while your free hand fiddled with the fabric of your shirt.

All it took was a small hello from both you and Tom, a glare from Harry which caused Tom to ask about your film with Z, and Harry didn’t see the two of you apart for hours.

Tom wouldn’t shut up about you on the way home. Oh how the tables have turned.

How Could I Not | Part eight coming really soon 

“Y/N Y/L/N?” Your doctor stands by her door and you get up, nearly dropping your keys in the process and follow her into the white room, fitted with enough equipment to confuse you for decades. “Where’s the dad today?” She asks softly, shutting the door behind you. 

You shrug, easily slipping in a lie. “He’s busy. Family stuff.”

You peel your coat off, throwing it over the chair he usually sat in along with your keys and phone and kick your legs up over the bed. The paper crinkles uncomfortably as you lay down and already knowing the routine, you peel your shirt up enough for her to squirt on the liquid that’d make you shiver and tense. 

Moments go by and you wait for the familiar sound to fill the room and when it does, nothing can stop the smile from forming on your face. It’s a steady rhythm, one you could fall asleep to or listen too on repeat for as long as the heavens would let you. It’s harmonic and soothing. Time goes quickly after that and you have to stop yourself from drifting off in the seat, the loneliness that engulfs the room is forgotten the second you allow your eyes to drift shut. 

You let the repetitive beating be the only thing on your mind. Not him and how much you wished he could've been there too.

Tom furiously taps on the door of your ragged apartment– scratch that, he didn’t even bother. He went straight for the spare key under the pot plant right outside and pushed the door open with a thud. If he hadn’t of text you to say that he was coming over then you would’ve been terrified. Still, you initially jumped.

Internally you’d been thankful because reruns of modern family had long become boring and all your cat did was sleep. Even if Tom was raging, red-faced and closed fisted he was better company then the pet and your television set right now.

“You’re not going to believe this.” He huffs, old university sweater hanging off of his figure like a blanket. “She actually tried to make me get rid of you.”

You don’t even get a hey in because he’s just that mad. Veins, icy blue and purple and hidden beneath fiery skin. there was no ‘how was your day? or ‘did anyone bother you at work this afternoon?’

“She what?” You question, flicking the television off.  “Slow down, tell me what happened.”

Catch up on ‘How could I not’ here  “What were you looking at?” He questions, handing you a metal spoon. It’s one of the ones with funky animals at the ends and you wonder if they’re new – or if he simply hadn’t given you the one with the elephant on the end up until now.

“Nothing,” You hum, taking a spoonful of the ice cream he had so politely offered to share. After this morning's events, he found that he just couldn't say no to you. “Just doin’ some stuff for work, the usual.”

The ice cream tub is cold in his hand and he lets it rest in between the tangled mess of sheets. If you weren’t currently working on swallowing the guilt that was sitting at the back of your throat then maybe you would’ve told him off because the pint was sure to make your sheets wet and cold.

“Sounds boring.” He groans, throwing his head back on the pillow. Brown curls lay scattered and you bite back the urge to run your fingers through them.

You stare at your closed laptop momentarily, endless thoughts plauging your mind. 

“It is, I wouldn’t worry about it.”
