noh yun as lyon, park jwaheon as eli
[Lyon] What are you doing?
[Eli] I have faith in you. Whatever comes your way, you’ll pull through. That’s who you are. The real problem is me. Nothing interests me nowadays. As expected, the righteous path of law ought to be treaded upon by someone like you. A righteous person, like you. Not someone like me.
[Lyon] What do you mean by that?
[Eli] Hey, should I just flunk an exam? Or perhaps I'll withdraw from the moot court? That way you’ll definitely get in, regardless of what Sophie does.
[Lyon] What do you think you’re saying?! We promised to enter the same university together. Look, if it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t even be here. You were the one who led me into this world. That’s why we have to keep going together, till the end!
[Eli] Lyon… I’m sorry. Calm down, okay?
[Lyon] …I’m sorry.
[Lyon] From a certain point Not a single thing has been going my way Not my grades, nor my evaluations, not even my emotions
The words that surface endlessly in my mind Perhaps the image you have of me May not be the real thing
Scared, fearful, unfamiliar, anxious These feelings, this side of me This isn’t who I am
I don’t want anything to change I’m going to live as I planned
[Lyon] When I’m with you, I can stay true to myself. The me whom you believe in. That side of me.
[Lyon] The future that I dream of I can’t let it crumble Can’t just this one thing Turn out the way I wish for? Without anything changing Even if it’s just the two of us
- ☽ -
[Lyon] Hey, that’s dangerous. Come back down—
[Eli] Lyon! You remember, right? You told me so — as long as I hold fast to my balance, I won’t be swayed!
[Lyon] I did..?
[Eli] Do you still remember? The day we first came to this place A school we’d never aimed for A dream we’d never harboured As if wearing ill-fitting clothes We were nothing but stifled
[Eli] C’mere. Ah, c’mon!
[Lyon] Coming.
[Eli] Ah, it’s refreshing!
[Lyon] Ah, it’s refreshing.
[Eli] Lyon.
[Eli] Do you remember that day? You told me, who felt trapped Not knowing where to head towards Or what to pursue, To feel the wind
[Lyon/Eli] Feel the wind If we feel it with our hearts Even without flying, we can soar As long as we don’t lose our balance We can be free, anywhere
[Eli] Hey, grab my hand! Grab it, grab it! Lyon. Shall I tell you a secret?
[Lyon] I have one too. A secret.
[ alternate pairings here (yu taeyul, bae nara) and here (ki sejung, hong seungan). ]

*dumps more of my oc's here-*
hey hii, i have more drawn fc's to display-
here's some info's about them (warning: very long-) (ofc my ask box is always open if you wanna know more about them :>)
. juni is a young girl who writes cheesy fanfics on whatever the flipline version of wattpad is, as well as character x reader stories :O she is also quite underweight, but she is working on getting her weight back to normal
. adam is a demon from the underworld. it is always willing to do orders for anyone, even for humans when it's summoned by them. however i wouldn't recommend doing so because it'll never ever leave you alone XP
. aragorn is an elf who... is rather too focused on science-related stuff to care about what's happening in the world. heck, he doesn't even acknowledge his own son's destructive behaviour, letting him do whatever he wants without thinking twice
. dakarai knows jericho (another oc of mine). they are close friends and consider each other cousins
. everest is aragorn's son. he used to be afraid of doing anything bad behind his dad's back, but when he found out his father was too invested in science to care, he started to take advantage of him to do anything he wants and became rebellious
. mortimer is a devil disguised as a human (he doesn't live in the underworld, he has his own clan with his own people), he initially disguised himself as a human to blend in and end them all when the time comes, but had grew a liking to them and defended them from his former devil clan
. blanche is what people call an interesting woman. she is a rich woman who owns several pet snakes, from small snakes to enormous snakes, and she is able to control them, in which people often question how but she refuses to tell XP
. zephyr is a college student who studies robotics, they have successfully crafted a robotic mask that displays cute emoticons and has worn it for so long, people forget what they look like underneath :O
. ariadne is cruella's (you can find her in another post about my oc's-) younger and very enthusiastic sister. she works behind the bar with another oc of mine and loves to make delicious cocktails.
. subin is a young father of four kids at a small village. he has a very sweet demeanour and would take care of anybody. however, he's unaware of the fact he has a terrifying monster form at night, that has nearly killed several visitors
nearly forgot as well but i drew juni, adam and aragorn in one pic (i adopted them all from other people in a discord server i'm in)
Tumblr media
and i drew zephyr as well :>

You heard your doorbell ring from the depths of sleep at 5 am and you groaned wondering who in the world could be stopping at your house this time in the morning. You thought that whoever it was would just leave, but the doorbell rang again a minute later, leaving you no choice but to get up.
Your hair was a mess, but you didn’t really care. You threw on a hoodie that was hung on a chair, yawning as you stumbled down the stairs and to the door.
“Whatever you’re selling, I ain’t buying-” You murmured, unlocking the door and opening it. You heard a giggle from the other side which made you open your eyes a bit wider. “Subin? What are you doing here? Why didn’t you call- geez, I’m a mess right now.”
“Shut up and hug me.” He pouted, lifting his arms up for you to hug him.
You smiled, “Come inside first, at least.” You opened the door a little wider, letting him step inside and take off his shoes before tackling you in a hug.
“Why are you even here? I thought I wouldn’t see you until later.” You asked, face pressed against his chest as he hugged you tightly.
“Just missed you… and I couldn’t sleep.” He whispered, slowly walking to the couch with you still in his arms (which was very difficult and caused some giggling between you two).
He crashed onto the couch with you landing underneath him, and him hovering just above you. His arms were outstretched to either side of you to support his body weight. You giggled again and Subin just looked down at your cute sleepy face and messy hair with pure love in his eyes.
It was then that he noticed what you were wearing and blushed slightly. “You stole my hoodie.” He mumbled— voice sounding just as sleepy as yours.
You looked down and saw that it was his black hoodie that you adorned, “It’s mine now.” You said, ruffling his hair with a small smile. You absolutely adored him. “Plus it smells like you.”
“Is that part of the appeal?” He asked, tilting his head to the side.
“Oh, definitely.” You said it as if it was obvious (which it was to you and less so to Subin).
He hummed, lifting one of his hands from the couch and pushing back some of your hair that had gotten in your face, “You look so kissable right now.” He admitted, his heart racing at just the sight of you.
“Kiss me, then.” You said bluntly, almost as if you were daring him to do it and he wouldn’t go through with it. But he would. And he did— leaning down and letting his soft lips meet yours.
You were giggling by the time he pulled apart, and your laugh was so contagious to him that he started laughing too.
“Why are you laughing?” He asked.
“I don’t know, I just love you.” You said truthfully, “I was missing you like crazy as well, and you chose to come at freaking 5 am... but it’s okay, even if you woke me up from my sleep, cause now you’re here and I can kiss you all I want.” You smiled.
He laughed at your response, kissing you once more, before you both decided that you should really get some sleep in a better place than tumbled on top of each other on the couch. So you made your way to bed together.

Ripple in the Waters: Eurasian Otter Discovery in Western Ghats' Sanctuary
A thrilling discovery made by Mohan, S. K., and team in 2023 reveals something incredible! They spotted the elusive Eurasian Otter (Lutra lutra) right here in the Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary within our beautiful Western Ghats. Two of these otters spotted in a rocky-torrential stream back in March 2020. These little fellas were on a frenzy, darting among submerged rocks, exploring nooks and crannies, and sometimes taking playful dives. What’s fascinating is their preference for spots where the water roars with energy, avoiding the calm and shallow areas.

Now, here’s the real scoop on where they were found – it's a paradise up there! At 1,275 meters altitude in the Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary, there’s lush greenery, these halfway-between forests (called transitional sholas), and patches of green along a speedy stream with big rocks and fallen trees. And get this – this place isn’t just for our Eurasian Otter friends; it's also a sweet spot for the Asian Small-clawed Otter (Aonyx cinereus). Looks like they're sharing the space wisely!

But here’s where it gets interesting: this discovery shakes up what we thought we knew about where these otters like to hang out in the Western Ghats. It's shouting out loud that we need to dive deeper into understanding these otters – their types, where they live, how many there are, and what they’re up to. Knowing all this stuff is like giving them a shield from the things that threaten them – losing their homes, sand mining, being hunted, and their numbers going down. It’s clear as daylight that if we want to keep these otters safe and sound in our precious Western Ghats, we’ve got to take care of the greenery by the streams. It’s like giving them a big, leafy hug and saying, “We got you, little buddies!”

CHAPTER 18: "He Never Changed"
| My Happiness | Chapter List |
Previous | Next ------------------
[ H A N S O L ]
I rushed over once I heard Chan's call for help. Subin was missing. He went to pick her up, and her coworkers told him that there were guests looking for her. Her coworkers were literally fighting when I showed up and Chan was in distress.
Her coworker, Minghao said they never seen her so terrified, and apparently, he was trying to buy her time, but their coworker Minyook snitched about her escape. We had to break up their fight whereas before Minghao could physical hurt him. We left them back at the restaurant where their shift lead Junhui took care of them.
I quickened my pace as I ran all over the street. I was calling Wonwoo on my phone while Chan and I ran marathons throughout these blocks of buildings.
Chan looked so determined yet full of fear. I couldn't imagine what he was thinking. He ran passed me many times as he desperately called Subin's phone.
I watched as his call kept going to voicemail. I kept hoping that Subin was safe. I stopped running once I heard Wonwoo's voice through the phone.
"Hyung!" I called out towards him.
He was quick with his words. "They took Subin didn't they?" His voice was deep and calm as usual.
I froze in my spot.
How did he know that? Before I can confirm or question him, he continued to speak.
"I've kept my eye on them for awhile now. You should get Chan. He'll feel a little better knowing where she's at." His audio sounded as though he was driving. "Tell Chan to go home."
"Home?" I repeat him. "Is Subin there? Otherwise Chan-"
"Trust me, Hansol," he interjected. "It's best you go there too. I'll be there. Don't be loud."
His last words sent chills down my spine.
"They're still watching."
The call ended and I stood there a dazed. They? Who was he talking about?
Wonwoo always knew more than he let on. He's always been reliable with information, but it concerns me how quick that conversation went. How much danger was Subin really in?
I turned around to see if there were any suspicious behavior or figures that may be lurking around this quiet street. Those people-
What did they want with Subin?
I saw Chan jog towards me with his phone still pressed against his right ear. He was still calling Subin. I narrowed my brows as Wonwoo's words kicked in.
"Chan go home," I quickly say.
He seemed shocked by my words. His brows narrowed as if I said something insulting. Before he could argue with me, I told him once more to go.
"Wonwoo said he'll be there. When we get there, don't make a sound," I tell him.
Chan stood there dumbfounded before his expression changed to a serious one.
"He knows where she is?" He asks me before putting his phone away from his ear. His eyes wandered with thought. "I think I know what he's implying. I might know where she's at."
I narrowed my brows before nodded my head. "Okay, but we better hurry. I think Wonwoo has a plan."
I watched as he put his phone in his pocket with his fist clenched. I never seen him so frustrated and worried before. He looked annoyed, upset, concerned, but most of all fearful.
"Hansol," he calls out to me. He gazed at the night sky for a moment before meeting my eyes. "I fear the worst, but I'll do anything to get her back."
That look he had. That was a look I never knew he could express. If Subin could see him now, I'm sure she would be in awe.
He had the look of a lover. I couldn't help but smile. Someone like Chan deserves his happiness.
Just like how he gave me mine, I'll do whatever I can to support him.
~
Wonwoo wore all black with a bulletproof vest. He had a gun holster on his hip. He hasn't changed much from high school except for his fit figure. His glasses was his signature look, but from the looks of it, he might be wearing contacts.
It was clear how serious he was with his job especially with how he spoke to his colleagues on his walkie talkie. I felt anxious with the way things were going.
Chan and I watched as Wonwoo looked through the blinds to see one of the neighbor's home. We were in Chan's room whereas the rest of his family was informed of the matter at hand. They stayed in their rooms including his halmeoni who seemed worried sick about Subin and his siblings.
We let the lights off throughout his house so nobody could see us. The only light came from the moon which shined through the small gaps in between the blinds.
"That's the license plate," Wonwoo said through his walkie talkie. "Did you get all that?"
I looked at Chan who couldn't sit still. He sat on the edge of his bed with his arms on his thighs. His legs shook vigorously while his focus was elsewhere. He seemed to be in deep thought.
"Yes. Okay," Wonwoo continued to speak to his colleague. "I understand... We're free to enter?...Understood. We'll be on stand by."
Chan and I watched as Wonwoo brought his walkie talkie away from his lips. He turned to look at us with a serious expression.
"Back up will arrive in 10 minutes. Can you guys hold until then?" he tells us.
Chan looked impatient but also willing to follow his lead. "I can, but Subin- I don't fully know what's happening. Will she be okay?"
Wonwoo narrowed his brows. He seemed ready to answer his question but he also seemed hesitant.
"She'll live," he says.
I didn't like that phrase. Subin was clearly in danger if he had to answer like that.
"She'll live?" I repeat his words. "Who is threatening her life?"
"It's her parents isn't it?" I turned to look at Chan who seemed to know something I don't.
He had a tone different from how he usually spoke. There was pent up anger and a hint of annoyance.
Wonwoo stared at Chan for a moment before sighing. He crossed his arms before answering his question.
"Kim Doseok and Kim Yujin- the two adoptive parents of Ahn Subin, Ahn Suyeong, and Ahn Sujun," he starts.
"Ahn?" Chan repeated their last names.
"Ahn?" I said after him. "Was that her real parents last names?"
Wonwoo nodded with narrow brows. "Ahn Woojin and Do Sumin- drug addicts who fell in debt under Doseok and Yujin. Unlike Doseok and Yujin who carry the same last name, Subin's parents were a bit harder to track. During that time, Subin and her siblings were young when they were given to the Kim's. Woo Jin and Sumin were desperate on getting their lives back and having children seemed to slow them down. By giving them their children, Doseok and Yujin were able to fit in their suburban neighborhood without many questioning it. Hence, that lead to Chan meeting Subin."
Chan and I remained quiet as we attentively listened to him. It was strange hearing about Subin's twisted family since she never spoke about them. The more Wonwoo spoke, the more annoyed I got. Subin has gone through more than I thought.
"Subin's parents, Woojin and Sumin got their freedom for a little while until we found their bodies at the bottom of a river. They were tied down with chains and it took awhile until we could confirm their identity. There was a cigarette near the area of the dumping and we traced the DNA to see who could have been around."
"And it lead to Doseok and Yujin," I say. I connected the dots and understood the full story.
Chan remained quiet while Wonwoo nodded his head slowly towards me.
"After killing her parents, Doseok and Yujin did a contact with one of the night clubs within the city- The Red Garden Night Club. That place has been connected to cases towards drugs and missing individuals. Unfortunately, we couldn't get any evidence with how uncooperative they were along with the CEO's connections with law enforcements." Wonwoo narrowed his brows with annoyance.
He turned around to look back at the house that draws his attention.
"With Subin, we'll have a witness and proof of their criminal acts. Last I heard about Doseok and Yujin was their missing luggage and I've seen the license plate of a certain black car that came to Subin's house the other day. She may have met some of the night club's men. She'll be a great asset, but first, we have to get her out of there."
Chan abruptly stood up. I watched as Chan came towards Wonwoo who turned around to look at him.
"Let me get her," he says with his hand out to him.
Wonwoo couldn't believe what he was hearing. He narrowed his brows with a shake of his head. "Sorry, but I can't let you get hurt or lose your life when back up can come anytime soon."
"Then let me at least make some noise so they don't hear you coming," Chan retorts. "Let me have your gun."
A part of me understood Chan's frustration, but I also understood the danger he would be putting himself in.
"Chan, I don't think-" I call for his attention.
Wonwoo put his hand up towards me, gesturing me to stay quiet. His eyes remained on Chan who seemed to have fire in his eyes.
I watched Wonwoo take out an object from his side pouch. It looked like a stun gun. He gave it to Chan was seemed to analyze the weapon.
"I don't trust you with a gun. Besides, I highly doubt you ever practiced with one," Wonwoo says. "You'll do better with a stun gun, but it only has one charge."
I narrowed my brows. "Hyung, he might need more than just a stun gun."
Wonwoo gawked his head at me with a smile. "I never said that's the only thing I'll be giving him."
I watched as he gave him a spare walkie talkie along with what appeared to be a knife.
"Only strike when they're close. Those people will be armed and ready." Wonwoo tells Chan who latched the knife holster to his side.
Chan nodded his head while he adjusted the weapons on him.
"From what my partner says, he believes there's only two other people in that house with the Kim's. One of them might be the owner of that home. So please, do he careful," Wonwoo informs him.
I watched as Chan made his way to the doorway with so much drive. Before leaving he patted me on my shoulder and gave me a reassuring smile.
"I'll be back. Don't worry."
His words were light for someone in this tough situation. Before I could protest, he shut the door behind him. Wonwoo and I watched him through the window as he made his way to the house Subin once lived in.
"He hasn't changed you know." I heard Wonwoo say.
I turned to look at him. "Chan?"
His eyes went from Chan to me. "He still has a heart for those in need. You would know that best, Hansol."
I felt the memory of high school hit me. My eyes wavered from him and I sighed.
"You're right," I say.
Wonwoo was there when it happened. He knows what happened. There's nothing I could hide.
-
B E F O R E
It was the middle of our freshman year when Chan found me on our school's rooftop.
I was going through a rough time. I didn't really friends and it was hard for to talk to anyone. Being mixed was difficult. They would be amazed by my Korean but they wouldn't really want to get to know me.
Girls only spoke to me because they'd want to date me, whereas guy were jealous of me. They often gave me the cold shoulder and pretended I didn't exist. There were a few times when I would use the restroom and I could heard my classmates talk shit about me.
At first I tried to not let it get to my head, but as time went by, I started to feel very alone. Chan was a classmate of mine who seemed to get along with everyone and I hated him for that.
He seemed so natural and fun to be around- I don't know how he does it. I was jealous with the way our classmates would follow him around, and how his presence was always known.
I wanted to be like him you know. I wanted friends. I wanted people to like me.
But whenever I tried, it would never work.
My parents were hardly around since they always had to travel between South Korea and the US. I had my sister with me, but even then, she was hardly around. She either went with them or would be with her friends. She was lucky to find other mixed Koreans so she didn't feel foreign. Unfortunately, I couldn't find friends like hers. I was always alone.
I never bothered telling my family the way I felt since I didn't want to be a problem. Besides, whenever I did try, they would always ask if I had friends. They thought I was like my sister who had things going well for her.
They had this image that I didn't want to ruin, so I often lied to them.
It's something I shouldn't have done, but I did. Besides, they never paid much attention to me. My sister was the star child. I just so happen to be here.
On that day when I was on the rooftop, I was given a love letter from a girl that was already being admired by one of my classmates.
Her name was Oh Chaehee, and my classmate Do Taejun hated me. That day, when she confessed to me, I turned her down and in return, Taejun jumped me behind the school.
I was covered with bruises and blood stained on my uniform. I couldn't go home looking like this so I ended up on the rooftop. There weren't many students around and the teachers were busy with a meeting.
I thought maybe I could get some piece of mind if I was away from everyone, but all I felt was loneliness.
I had no one to talk to. I had no one to express my sadness and frustration.
So I wept. I couldn't control my emotions that day. A thought kept running through my head that if I wasn't alive maybe things would be easier.
Nobody would know anyways.
I was tired of being alive but not living. My heart felt heavy and the pain on my body ached everywhere. When I tried to wash the blood off me, there were stains that remained.
Purple bruises on my skin and splashes of dried blood on my clothes.
Why am I hated for being alive? Why did people dislike my very existence?
Would they be happy if I was gone?
I don't remember when I stood on the edge of the rooftop, but I remembered the way the wind grazed my face. It was cold but the heat of the summer kept me warm.
It was fall. The time of the year where the living dies before winter takes over.
I felt lightweight. I took one step forward ready for the fall. Life seemed better this way.
"DON'T!"
I felt someone pull me back before falling back onto the rooftop floor. That voice.
I turned to look at the culprit who showed up. There laid Lee Chan, the boy who was loved by many.
A few yards away, I saw another person at the rooftop entrance. Jeon Wonwoo, a classmate from another class who was assistant to the Student Body President.
My eyes widened in horror from their appearance.
"Oh man that was really close!" Chan said as he got up. He dusted himself up and looked at me with concern. "Are you alright, Hansol?"
I didn't know what to say. How did he even know my name? We never spoke before.
He waved his hand in front of me in hopes to get my attention. "Chwe Hansol, right?" He gave me a warm grin. "I'm Lee Chan from your class."
I tried to speak, but my words came out softer as though I was whispering.
"Ah... yeah," was all I could say.
"Yah, Chan. We better not tell the others about this," Wonwoo said with crossed arms while he leaned on the door.
Chan turned to look at him before looking back at me as if he was trying to understand his words.
"Hey, Hansol," he calls for my attention. His voice was light with slight concern.
I stared at him.
"I have some spare clothes in my duffel bag. The soccer club activities got cancelled because our club President got sick. You can wear it if you want." He pointed behind him with his thumb.
Was he trying to be nice to me?
I narrowed my brows at him. I felt my face scrunch with annoyance. "Why? Huh? Why bother with me?"
I didn't mean to come off rude, but I couldn't help but be annoyed by this guy. Did he think I needed some hero?
He looked at me with wide eyes. I watched as he motioned his hands in front of me as though he was trying to calm me down.
"Ah!" He said before being very expressive. He was trying to find the right words to say. "I been meaning to ask if you wanted to hang out that's all!"
He scratched the back of his head with an awkward grin. I raised a brow towards him. Was I supposed to be happy to hear that? Or was this some trap?
Chan gazed at me with worry before sighing. It was like he finally decided to go straight to the point.
"I've been meaning to ask about your well-being but you seemed too intimidating," he admits with an awkward laugh.
"What," I said.
My voice came off rude but I was genuinely surprised by his words. His eyes widened as he tried to speak.
"Well... I wasn't sure what you were going through since you were always alone, and I often thought you probably were probably in a gang or something..." he says showing his teeth.
I stared at him as if he was an idiot, but I couldn't help but laugh at him. I held my gut as I couldn't stop the laughter. My body hurt though from the bruises, and I winced in pain.
Chan patted me on my back with worry, but he showed me a kind smile.
"Let's get out of here before you die on me," he says before stopping and realizing his words. "I MEAN- Don't fall from your injuries! FALL!? I MEAN COLLAPSE! YEAH COLLAPSE!"
For a someone that's trying to help me, he certainly is a goofball. I snickered at him with a shake of my head.
"Relax, I know what you're saying," I tell him.
I watched him look at me with wide eyes before smiling. "Oh thank God!"
He lead me to the doorway where Wonwoo was at, and the two walked along side me. A sense of joy overtook me and I tried my best to hide it.
I guess there are people in this world that see me. My eyes went to Chan who was rambling about his friend Seungkwan who's waiting for him at the bus stop.
"Oh, I totally forgot about Seungkwan!" He groaned. He sighed. "Whatever! He can wait! That's what he gets for eating my food!"
Chan had so much energy and enthusiasm. I hated it at first, but he seemed like a ball of sunshine that I couldn't ignore.
"Let's hang out from now on, Hansol!" He loudly says with a grin.
Was he serious? I stared at him with question, and when he noticed my stares, he lost his smile.
"Oh... that's if you want to be friends- if you don't then-" he said quickly.
I snickered at his reaction and shook my head.
"So you want to be friends?" I ask him.
Chan nodded his head vigorously. "YES!"
I couldn't help but smile. Does he really put his heart on his sleeve like this? I felt no hint of lie from him. He was like an innocent child that had no ill intention.
Wonwoo silently walked behind us hearing our conversation.
After that day, Chan stuck by my side for the rest of high school. He never once left me in the dark and Chan and I became a trio with Seungkwan.
When I asked about how he found me up there, he responded with a grin. His words left a spark.
"Wonwoo-hyung!" He gleefully said. "I didn't know where you went when I saw you hurt, and he so happened to still be at school! He lead me up there and everything!"
It was odd how well everything went. Especially with how Taejun got expelled a week later after what happened.
Even now, it was like Wonwoo was setting everything up and Chan was still that same kid from before.
They haven't changed. He hasn't changed.

Hey manhwa/sob anon,my thoughts on winter szn is EXACT same to same with you everything you said was what I thought.i thought I was just not satisfied with dongchae being not mc like he didn't really have much even tho it was HIS szn yeah I absolutely agree with u angry with jaemin nd also jaemin x eunchae r my disliked ship...I didn't like the winter szn as much as other cuz of all the things you've said but I didn't really know what nd which thing I don't like so after seeing u write ur opinion nd thought made me think "aah that why , I don't really like this szn"
Also the reason I wanted you to read sob, really like your opinions nd many match with mine although not all
Like you I enjoyed bomi x jinyoung more the cuz I think it would e been really weird between seonhui nd bomi if any of those two were to date jaemin really like their friendship so I didn't want there to be a wall b/,w them tho I will agree with you on jaemin with bomi thing cuz at first I see them nd think ah they will really make a good couple both r similar (bomi mom being strict nd jaemin also being strict although not with him but with brother) both popular kid good grade good personality they would a power couple I'm a sucker for short boy x tall girl so jinbomi won my heart over aslo like the grumpy x sunshine trope also I really liked seonhui & jaehyeon cuz I'm kinda a lover of side couple also their maple 🍁 scene made me fall head over heels for this ship so I didn't really like seonhui x jaemin cuz as I said before the reason of bomi nd her friendship to not fall apart but now that not a problem cuz bomi nd jinyoung bf gf but she had guilt over asking jaemin to come over when his brother was suicide that day tho not her fault(nd yes that the school & mom fault ,hamin flower was good but so sad ) so that why I didn't really like it
On gaeul flower thing I liked it but as you said the discomfort of subin being reminder of her being bullied was really not done well she really got over it fast as you said but beside that I really like them being in college(university? I forgot which one) hs romance is common
Overall Id say I liked the story+ the couple execpt for dongchae flower could be done so much better nd the couple wasnt really good imo maybe I was expecting too much but also I agree you on the speech part I also really loved it!
there's gonna be a sequel (author said it's light hearted than sob) I think in a year Im waiting for it
Really a big post sorry
(Response to this).
Its fine, i love to talk about series anyway.
Tumblr media
Yeah, winter season could've been better. I really thought Jaemin was out of character. He was better than that and Eunchae too. Dongchae deserves better.
Actually, i love tall girl x short boy type of ships too and of course, opposite attracts thing. The reason i couldnt root is because she and Jaemin both wanted to be together at that time, even its not romantic love, it was sad to watch them like that. I wasnt into Jaemin and Bomi, i just support people who have healthy relationship and like i said, the way she described that comfort feelings for Jaemin fits more the actual love but at the end, both of them are happy so its fine.
And i really hated what Bomi did with Jaemin, Jinyeong. If my friend did something like Bomi did, i would absolutely hated it. Girl, you didnt make things better but actually worse! And this isnt for her, its for herself. If you dont want to date your bestie's crush, tell her that for God's sake. They are lucky, it ends well though.
I didnt like Seunhui at the beginning because she looks like just rude girl for no reason but the story progress, i find her very cute and i know she has guilty for Hamin's suicide but i still think they also look good together with Jaemin and the way he was teasing her at the start, i shipped them and i dont think her relationship would actually fall apart with Bomi, if they communicated properly. Just because they have past and regrets doesnt mean they cant be together and doesnt mean its not love. Jaemin and Seunhui c/would be really cute and funny too but again, at the end, both find happiness so i am fine with this too so whatever, lol.
I think university romance is better because of maturity, the idea that you will find real love in uni is more realistic to me because at highschool, you are just trying to figure out yourself, you will most likely have crushes than love, its imature form of love. Though, its fun to explore any type of love, especially if its well written.
I heard about sequel, i wonder what will it be about.

“Maybe, this isn’t so bad after all.” She looked at the area filled with people dancing, screaming to the lyrics. “Hey, I’ll go be on the dance floor, mind grabbing drinks for us?” Subin pointed at the crazed drinks flaring up. “Yeah, I'll grab us the fiery drinks.” walking there, she sat down staring at all sorts of drinks being made. “What, can I get you there sweet cheeks?” She stared at him for quite some time staring at his beauty, not before being pulled back into reality. “Oh.. sorry, I’ll just grab 2 of those fiery drinks there..” Pointing to what others had, embarrassed at the fact of your first encounterment. Had to be staring at a guy.
“Ah, I see you’re interested in trying our mouth burning drinks there!” He’s amused, such a girl would want to drink those. “So, what brings you here?” “Well.. Mr. Bartender that I just met for the first time, I’m just here with a friend to celebrate passing the 2nd semester for the year.”
He chuckled at the nickname. “Well, there sweet cheeks, name’s Jungkook. What about you?” “Nahyun, name’s Nahyun.” “Say, after my shift, let’s get to know each other and ditch this place to go to mine?” “I don’t know.. What about my friend? Who’s gonna be there to take her home, once she hits the drunk point?” sighing that she might have to leave her presumably later drunk friend behind.
“We can just call a cab to drive her home safely. Is that okay with you?” She thought for a moment, calling a cab to take her home. Would mean that she’d get home safely, and possibly knock out on the floor with makeup still caked up on her face. “Sure, but only that
My friend gets home safely by cab. I don’t wanna leave her in the hands of some kidnapper.” “Gotcha,” Jungkook chuckled before needing to make the drinks. “So, how long have you been bartending for?” Figured to start this conversation more, she’d wanted to know how long he’s been doing this job for. “Probably, for only a year, I found bartending to be something cool.” “For a year, you sure must be skilled.” she giggled, kind of digging his personality and style.
“You could say that. But I’m not skilled enough to do fancy throw tricks with the shaker just yet.” He shook his head, laughing a little. “Why not show me some of your tricks later?” “We’ll see about that, these drinks can get you a bit tipsy from one drink.” Shooting her a wink. “But here are the drinks you requested.” Picking up the cups, he proceeded to clean up the remnants left there.
“Subin, hey, i’m sorry to be leaving so soon just as we got here. But I'm going with a bartender later. I’ll spill you the details later, but right now, I’ll be going back to where they’re at.” “I’ll call you a cab later!” As she runs back to Jungkook. “Mmm, what’s in this drink that tastes so good?” Chuckling, turning his focus on the drinks. “You know, a bit of strawberries with a dash of pineapple and a sprinkle about tons of alcoholic drinks that you name.” “That must be a drink every person desires.” Nayun tried joking, laughing at it a bit.
“Now, what the fuck was that joke. Nayun. Come on.” Thinking to herself.
“I thought that joke to be quite funny. Even though I laughed in my head.” Cleaning up the empty dirty cups.
“Oh.. Well, thank you for laughing at my really terrible drinking jokes there.” Embarrassed at that, she continued sipping her drink.  “Uhm, so what do you do for a living outside of bartending here?” She tried starting up the conversation, easing this awkwardness inside her.
“Let’s see, I like to dance in my freetime, oh! I also enjoy experimenting with cooking.” He lets out, cleaning the area. “Oh, wow, what type of dance do you usually do?” “Normally, I dance to what my heart and mind feel like.” “Wow, maybe later you gotta show me your dance skills.” “Mhm, I’ll show you it later.” He winks.
She blushes a bit at the wink. “1 drink is enough for me. I don’t wanna talk to you on our first encounter looking drunk.” “I wouldn’t mind seeing you drunk.” “Okay, let me finish cleaning. And then we can go to my place.”

Seasons of Blossom: Summary Review
**Spoilers Ahead!
Tumblr media
Seasons of Blossom was a wonderful read. Everything in it tied together neatly, and actions and events that happened in the past affected what happened towards the end. I think Bomi and Jinsong were cute. But they were the only season of the story. Bomi’s Flower, which represents spring, is the opening season that we start off with in the webtoon. Part of it is because I don’t really care much for high school first love romances since I’ve consumed so much media that has the same premise. The only “difference” about this love story is that the girl is taller than the guy in the case—not a very commonly used trope, but it’s still not that impactful in the grand scheme of this story. I would describe Bomi’s Flower, as being very similar to what you would find as the main plot in a shojo manga or typical fake dating, high school set, misunderstoodlove story. This is not to say that I hate Bomi’s Flower, but more so that there were parts of this story that better resonated with me.
Meanwhile, Hamin’s flower (Summer) was so heartbreaking to read, and it made me sob. The feeling of pressure weighing down as the eldest child and trying to protect your younger siblings from having to meet the same expectations your family expects of you—I don’t think anyone could have blamed Hamin for his choice. I think the most gut wrenching thing about Hamin’s flower, was that we were reading everything that led up to his death. We, as readers, knew what was going to happen, but it was a bomb with a timer that no one knew would go off. I love how the entire series places a very big theme on understanding that someone choosing suicide can hardly ever be counted as one person’s fault. If it’s one’s person’s fault, it was also anyone else’s fault that the deceased met that day, or the weather, or the clothes they wore, or place they were in. Everything would have been at fault. Grief was also something very prominent, and Somang, Hamin’s classmate and love interest, is such a strong and kind woman. She has had to keep living without ever knowing how Hamin felt about her until Jaemin gave her Hamin’s diary, which detailed how much Hamin cherished her and wanted to reach out but couldn’t. The way she grows up and does her best to help people through art is also wonderfully done, because she was able to give Jaemin, Hamin’s younger brother, a piece of Hamin to remember him by.
As for the rest of the series, Gaeul’s flower (Autumn) was also a favorite of mine because of Subin, to be honest. And also for the fact that it focused on those in college rather than high school. I still find there’s a lack of representation of media that is geared toward or written with college students involved in the plot, so this was something I really liked about this webtoon. I loved Subin and Gaeul’s relationship probably the most. But I think the unfortunate thing is that if Hamin were alive in the series, Gaeul wouldn’t be. Because Gaeul only stayed alive for the sake of Somang, who was dealing with Hamin’s death. She couldn’t allow herself to die when Somang had practically nobody to rely on. Had Hamin stayed alive, Gaeul would have offed herself, knowing that Hamin would catch Somang in his arms. I also loved, loved, loved the development of Seonhui, Subin’s younger sister, and her classmate, Jaehyun. I mainly started “Seasons of Blossom” to witness their development, but I’m glad I ended up being able to read about all the other wonderful parts that the story had to offer. Seonhui and Jaehyun were important in the sense that Seonhui was able to find someone who made her feel special, and so she was able to move on from her crush on her childhood friend, Jaemin. Jaehyun also found someone whom he didn’t necessarily have to be a mediator for all the time; if anything, he likes to start things with Seonhui because she reacted cutely. Jaehyun being raised around three sisters also made sense as to why he knew how to handle things so well. The height difference was also super cute!
Lastly, Dongchae’s flower (Winter) was mainly an accumulation of everyone working together like cogs in a clock to prevent him from doing the same thing as Hamin. Everyone played a part in making sure Dongchae was okay and that his bullies didn’t get away with the trauma they created for him. Dongchae’s flower was a very good arc but also a good conclusion that encapsulated all the main themes we learned from the other flowers.
Bomi’s Spring Flower focuses on blooming love and friendship. Hamin’s Summer Flower tells a tale of grief, acceptance, and pressures set upon kids by their parents to achieve success. Gaeul’s Autumn Flower details the consequences and aftermath of bullying and the concepts of forgiveness and consideration. Dongchae’s Winter Flower then encapsulates the story by showing how community and connection will be one’s strongest weapons against declining mental health and suicide contemplation.
If there is one webtoon that I would recommend that isn’t solely a romance or only for aesthetics, I would recommend “Season’s Blosson” to anyone who wants to be served a multitude of life lessons all encapsulated in a beautifully written webtoon.

I hear that you're most like your bias and your bias wrecker is your ideal type - TRUTH OR NO
i should be asleep but i'm too awake now so answering this ask! i must bring out my biases and bias wreckers.
nct
bias : haechan
bias wrecker : mark/renjun
truth : a good section of my humour and mischief is like haechan. but tbh i think i'm more alike to renjun. mark tho, yeah. but he's everyone's type, isn't he?
wayv
bias : xiaojun
bias wrecker : ten
truth : hmm i don't think i'm like xiaojun, i think i'm more alike to kun than anyone else. honestly speaking i'm not as familiar with wayv as i want to be (haechan doesn't promote with wayv so it doesn't give me a chance). ten as my ideal type? i see it. my irl friend and i were talking about how sexy we find him...
the boyz
bias : sunwoo
bias wrecker : juyeon
truth : tbh my bias wrecker changes often so it's hard to say. i'm obsessed with juyeon a bit. but i'm quite alike with sunwoo but i'm actually not joking when i say sunwoo is so close to my irl ideal type. he even looks the part.
stray kids
bias : hyunjin + lee know
bias wrecker : han
truth : all of them are my ideal type. it's a triangle of ideal. but lately i've been a bit more hyper focused on hyunjin because the way he expresses himself is a bit similar to me even though he's stylish about it. lee know and i have similar tendencies. han is just yummy as fuck. so in a way yes, but like the tip of the iceberg. you need all 3....
seventeen
bias : hoshi + the8
bias wrecker : dino/mingyu/dk/jeonghan
truth : idk what's going on anymore. i wanna say truth but i also don't. because although there are some similarities between my biases and i - i don't find myself in them as much as others on the list. maybe a bit more in minghao than hoshi. and my bias wrecker list, take your pick. there's so many that you'll find my ideal type in there in no time.
treasure
bias : jihoon
bias wrecker : junghwan/yedam (ot12)
truth : yes. i think one of the closer ones to the truth. jihoon has the type of humour that i love. adore. it's the closest to mine than other idols i know. but his confidence is too fucking sexy where i'd say it's more an ideal type of me? or a type that sparks inspiration in me?. junghwan and yedam, in a way yes. for different reasons as well. i wouldn't say ideal type but i have fondness for both of their characters that if i met someone like them, i'd crush on them. 100%
enhypen
bias : jungwon
bias wrecker : sunghoon
truth : jungwon is kind of like jihoon where he's a bias that sparks inspiration in me and my values but i don't find myself in him. in fact, barely at all. he's just my baby. sunghoon on the other hand fits the ideal type thing so well i kinda hate it. i don't want to admit it because then my friend wins and that just can't happen. so yes, but for my sake, no.
bts
bias : jimin
bias wrecker : taehyung (and a bit of namjoon lately)
truth : no, in this case it's not a lie but it's not the truth either. i think especially in later years (and what kind of adds to this is that i'm not as big of a fan as i was years ago) i'm more alike with taehyung than i am jimin. jimin was my ideal type for ages and what will always have my heart about him is the way he accepts love in a gentle and affectionate way with other men. which in my country is hard to come by. also in this case there's too much loyalty and story to fit into this statement.
exo
bias : kyungsoo
bias wrecker : baekhyun
truth : true... i don't think i have found myself in anyone quite so much as i do kyungsoo. baekhyun is quite similar to my ideal type. not even in a romantic sense either just in a ideal person i want to surround myself with kind of way. this group fits the prompt so well.
victon
bias : subin
bias wrecker : seungwoo
truth : i do find myself in subin, a lot more often than you think. not exact or worth the whole 'omg we're so alike' ramblings, it's just...i see a bit. i get babied often. i just accept and understand it. (he's just acting in these roles but-) he can be cold and aloof. i see it. seungwoo is just...hot and i like the thought of him being my ideal type.
txt
bias : yeonjun
bias wrecker : beomgyu
truth : neither guy is particularly like me i think. in my case i think i'm more similar to the other guys rather than these two? i think the way they bicker and banter is up my alley but in general? not really. they both fit my ideal type more than likely.
TLDR;
it's a mix of truth and not quite truth. false but not quite false. in some cases it works more for others.
CONCLUSION :
i think the reason why this goes around the way it does is because the 'thought process' of biases and bias wreckers are kind of different?
with biases, it's only natural to find similarities or something to relate to in another person and a para-social relationship isn't any different. and when you start you just never really stop. i also find that the bias is typically the person (or people) you're investing more time in, thinking about them, getting to know them through the screen...
whereas with biaswreckers, they're like photo bombs. they're a break from all of that. they're the ones you're thinking 'omg they're actually so fucking pretty what the hell' 'omg so fucking hilarious' 'nawww they're actually so gentle/strong etc'. they're a bit of a jump start.
that's what i think anyway.
sorry for the essay, couldn't help myself, quite frankly.

트레드밀 – treadmill
shin hyucksu as B (kim taehyeong as A)
That those actions, chosen thoughtlessly Tormented someone’s life Can you admit to it? That you, yourself, are an assailant
If those words, spat out thoughtlessly Carved my destiny How would I feel? If it were me, I’d shoot it all
The inevitable treadmill It’s not going forward Circling in place The inescapable treadmill
Treadmill
Can you believe it? That all the things you believed were right Are actually ruining your destiny. So, don’t be mistaken. This world isn’t all that beautiful.
The trigger beneath my finger When can I pull it? Towards the stench of destiny The treadmill you’ve chosen Get rid of your fear Shake up your destiny, treadmill

악취 – the stench
jeong donghwa as A
Rising with the setting sun The stench that stings my nose All that my effort and exhaustion produces Is the acrid stench soaked into my body
Everything that I believed was right A day where all of that disappeared No matter how hard I try Reality is cold, once again
I pray that I may escape Even if only for one day, today I pray that I may disappear Even if only for one hour, today
The car, smashed into blackened bits Me, who’s reached the alley’s dead end If my prayers are illusions If they are unbearable scars There is no other choice
I pray that I may escape Even if only for one day, please I pray that I may disappear Even if only for one hour, please
So that I may escape, so that I may escape So that I may escape, so that I may escape

왜 내 말이 틀려 – why, am i wrong?
kim junyoung as B (jeong donghwa as A)
How is this a crime? This is nothing compared to that red button of yours.
C’mon, try to refute it Why can’t you say anything? I know what it is you’re feeling
It’s your dulled heart And your bowed head That’s a crime Why, am I wrong?
Even if you run Even if you sprint The inescapable red button That’s your destiny
Conforming And being tamed The irreversible red button That’s you
Why did you come to me? Those emotions, burning deep within your heart Even when humiliated, you pretend not to know Your bruised heart
You, who neglects yourself. That’s a crime, y’know?
Even if you run Even if you sprint The inescapable red button That’s your destiny
Conforming And being tamed The irreversible red button That’s you
If you try running And try sprinting You can escape it The red button; your destiny
Express it And smash it up You can turn back The red button; that’s you

Subin ~~

"Darling, your pants seems ripped...." Subin tried to focus on something else than her legs, but it was hard. She was beautiful, and sexy and gorgerous, pretty much everything and Subin was addicted to her. "So many times I wonder how can you be mine... just wow"

Promise (Part 16)
When Maria’s ship, Alice’s Song, was within sight of Ineon, both of us were out on the deck, craning over the side to try to get a better look.
“You’ll both go overboard if you keep doing that.” Subin called. He was one of the members of this crew. I had spoken to him and their Captain, Seungsik, the most. Mostly about strategies to keep them safe once they left Ineon, but other words and promises were exchanged for discretion.
“White flag, black compass?” Hanse, another crew member who was in the crows nest most of the time but had stayed close to communicate, asked, spyglass to his eye.
My heart jumped and Maria yelled in triumph. I believe she was just as excited to see them again as I was. The closer we got, the more my pulse increased. I tapped the edge of the ship, not knowing what to do with the energy and my urge to jump ship now and swim the rest of the way.
Docking seemed like it took forever, but from our spot on the ship I couldn’t see any of the men I was looking for.
“They must be in town. Once we’re docked I’ll help you look for them. Subin said he would go with us as well.” Maria said, walking over and slipping a bag over her head.
“Here.” Subin said, handing me a similar bag. I took it, looking in to find a small dagger. “Always have a weapon.”
I thanked him and put the bag on my shoulder, all of us heading down the ramp and onto the dock. We were almost to the end when three familiar shapes came into view.
“Yunho!” I yelled and his head whipped around from where he was talking to Mingi. He was holding several things but they all clattered to the dock as we took off towards each other. The minute we made contact I was off the ground and being spun through the air. I wrapped my legs around his waist and clung to him. The first tears started to burn my throat.
“Aleah. Aleah. Aleah.” He chanted, each time his voice became more choked.
I suddenly felt hands on my back, tugging at my shirt.
“Give her to me. Give her to me now.” I sagged at his voice and Yunho released me only for me to be pulled into another body. He hadn’t been with the other three when I saw them but now that he was here I couldn’t hold back the tears any longer.
“Wooyoung.” I breathed into his neck.
“Aleah, my sunlight.” He said. I tried to pull back to see him but he just pressed against me tighter. “If you think I am ever letting you go again you are wrong.”
I let out a choked laugh.
“I just want to see your face, my moonlight.” I said. He relented and pulled back just enough for me to look him over and wipe the tears from under his eyes. He leaned forward and kissed mine away.  We both looked around as footsteps came thundering towards us, only relaxing when we saw Jongho and Seonghwa running towards us.
“I guess I’ll have to let you go for a moment.” Wooyoung pouted, but I could see a small grin trying to break through. I patted his arm and turned to face Seonghwa.
He reached out, cupping my face with both hands to look me over.
“Are you hurt?”
“No.”
“Did he do anything to you? Because I swear I will use every knife I have and…”
I cut him off by putting my finger to his lips which he quickly kissed.
“He didn’t hurt me. I am okay. I’m more than okay now.” I said, pulling him into a hug which he returned, kissing the top of my hair frantically.
“Some of us would like a turn too.” Jongho said and I couldn’t help but laugh. He was never the most outspoken about physical contact, but I knew that he didn’t like being left out. I pulled back, grinning at Seonghwa before going to hug him and MIngi.
“If I didn’t know what she meant to you I would almost be offended considering I’m the one who saved her.” Maria said from a little ways behind us. I felt my face heat up. I have forgotten all about her for a moment.
“Maria?” Wooyoung said, eyes crinkling as he grinned.
“Come here, you mouthy trouble maker.” She said, opening her arms. They each hugged her as well considering she had been feeding them for a few years now.
“Captain and San should be back soon and there is someone waiting on the ship that probably wants to see you.” Yunho said, distracting me from trying to eavesdrop on the hushed conversation Wooyoung and Seonghwa were now having with Maria.
“I…”
Yunho tucked my arm under his and pulled me towards the Promise. Leaving Wooyoung and Seonghwa behind was already almost unbearable, but Yunho was right. There was someone else I needed to see.
The Promise still took my breath away. I had missed it in the time I was gone. The dark wooden walls and its black and white sails. The black contrast of the ship's wheel against the wood and the picture images of a pinkish sky full of clouds on the navigation room windows that shone brightly when all the lanterns were lit.
That’s where we were headed now I realized as Yunho led us up the stairs and opened the door.
“Captain, I think maybe we could check…” Yeosang ended his sentence abruptly when he saw me. He was holding a book and a magnifying glass which he dropped immediately as well, the glass miraculously staying together as he took three long strides towards me and gripped the back of my neck.
“Yeo…”
I was cut off by his lips on mine, his mouth leaving a bruising kiss that I had no intention of pulling away from. He only released me when someone cleared their throat.
“Hey.” He said, red starting to tinge his ears.
“Hey. You don’t usually do…that.”
“I also don’t usually think that the woman I love will be taken by some evil Navy Captain either but here we are.”
“Are you expecting a kiss from me as well, because I will be more than happy to supply one.” I rolled my eyes before turning to San and opening my arms, him flinging himself into them much as he did every time he came to the Inn.
“I missed you.” He said.
“I missed you too.”
Hongjoong was also in the doorway, body slumped against the frame. I could see dark circles under his eyes and sighed, stepping past San and reaching out to smooth the skin there.
“My Captain, you haven’t been sleeping.”
He let out a choked laugh and closed his eyes, leaning into my hand.
“How could I?”
“Thank you.”
“I didn’t do anything.”
“You didn’t give up. You never have. So thank you.”
He cleared his throat a few times, water starting to pool in his eyes.
“Aleah, I…”
“Need alcohol. We all need alcohol.” Mingi said loudly and I cracked, starting to laugh harder as everyone else joined in.
“You’re right, Mingi. Fuck yes, we need alcohol. Oh, and Hongjoong, I need to talk to you about those bags of gold I know you keep under the floorboard under your desk. I do owe Seungsik for saving my ass.” I said, smiling brightly at him before walking away to join Mingi.
“Gods I missed her.” I heard Wooyoung mutter.

CHAPTER 15: "Light Within Darkness"
| My Happiness | Chapter List |
Previous | Next ------------------
[ C H A N ]
I watched my phone get filled with notifications. Hansol left me messages that I couldn't find myself responding to. He says nothing happened between them, but a part of me still worries whether or not that may be true for him. But what about Subin?
I ended up not paying attention in class and finding myself alone with my thoughts on my drive home. I left my radio off and let my eyes watch the dark road. There was questions running through my head.
Why was Hansol there?
Why was she hugging him?
What happened before I got there?
What is it that she wanted to tell me before I ran off?
What was it that I didn't know...
I hit the breaks as I almost ran a red. I felt my car jerk forward from the abrupt stop. I widened my eyes as I try to wake myself up.
"Get a grip," I tell myself. "You don't even know what's going on."
I tighten my grip on the steering wheel. I wanted to see her, but I don't know if I'm ready to hear what she has to say.
What if by all this, she doesn't like me.
A part of me was believing this, but another part of me wanted to ask her. But it felt too soon to get an answer from her. That topic is something I can always ask later.
Her eyes were teary before I left.
What made her cry?
Or was it someone?
Is that why Hansol was there? What happened?
I felt mad. Not at Subin. Not at Hansol. But at myself. Why am I such a coward? I made it this far yet I'm still scared to push forward...
I got home and I made my way to my room. My parents and halmeoni greeted me. They recently came back from their trip to Jeju Island, and I tried my best to greet them back. They asked about my day, but all I said was that I'm tired.
I couldn't tell them the truth.
My room was dark and I dropped myself onto my bed. I heard a notification come from my phone. I turned my head off my pillow to look at the messages Hansol might be sending still.
Subin: Are you okay?
I felt myself sit up from her message. How was I going to respond to her? I felt my jaw clench as I thought about what I could say to her. I didn't want to lie to her, but I also didn't want to tell the truth.
Chan (me): I'm okay
I am okay. I'm not currently at my best, but I know I'm not at my worst. I just... have too much on my mind. Her next message made my heart skip a beat. I knew she would message me tonight, but having it happen still gets me nervous.
Subin: Can I call you?
I felt myself smile, but another part of me didn't want to talk to her. I was still scared of what she'll have to say, but I knew hiding wouldn't solve anything. It'll only make matters worst.
Chan (me): You can call me. I don't mind.
My phone began to ring. I took a deep breath and answered her call.
"Hello?"
"...Hi Chan."
Hearing her voice made my heart skip a beat.
~
I stood outside her home. I don't know how many times I went over the speed limit or how many times I had to swerve around a car, but I had to see her. She told me what happened and I felt like a complete jackass.
How could I be so selfish? How could I leave her like that?
She needed me and I left her.
I was angry at myself. I should have listened to Hansol and spoke to her. I should have came straight here instead of going home. I should have spoke to her before I ran off.
Her gate door opened and there stood Subin along with her siblings. They had their luggages and Hansol was nowhere in sight.
Subin stood there with her face remaining stoic. She might have cried all her tears. Behind her, her sister seemed angry and her brother was annoyed. When their eyes met mine, it was like their emotions went 180. It reminded me of how they were happy to see me earlier today. It felt good knowing the liked me.
Before they could speak, I motioned them to come inside my car. They quickly followed suit.
"THANK YOU!" Her sister said with glee.
"Thank you, hyung!" Her brother hollered after her.
I felt Subin's eyes on me. I turned to look at her. She was trying to hold herself together, but I can see her sniffle.
"Thank you, Chan," she whispered.
Her eyes matched mine. I wanted to hug her, but I restrained myself. Did she want me to hug her? What if she pushes me away?
All I could do was nod my head and help her with her luggage. After moving their things to my trunk, Subin went back to her house before quickly turning to tell her siblings to stay put.
Her sister was reluctant, but her younger brother held her down.
"Would you just stay put, Noona!?" he hollered.
"I want to help, Unnie!" She retorts.
"Well you can't! And if you don't listen she won't like you anymore!" He spat.
She gave him a dirty look and the two began to bicker. I stared at them for a moment and smiled at their behavior. Atleast Subin has her siblings during these trying times.
I stared at the front door Subin left open. I followed after her.
Upon entering their home one last time, I went to her room to see if she was there. Her room was left with their furniture, but their sheets were nowhere in sight.  Their drawers were opened with nothing left almost like the place was abandoned- which it soon will be.
I heard a loud noise, and I followed it. I wandered to the room on the other side of the house. Subin must be over there.
I peaked my head through the open door and saw chaos unfold. Subin was digging through drawers and checking underneath the bed as though something was hidden.
The room was bland and smelled like cigarettes. There was also a scent that I didn't recognize mixed within the air. Was that... drugs? I couldn't tell?
Subin looked over at me with anxiety written all over her face.
"Help me find a pack of white powder," she quickly says as she picks up a worn out bat underneath the bed.
I stood there dumbfounded. I thought back to the conversation I had with her on the phone.
"Did your parents really leave drugs here?" I ask her as I check each drawer she already opened.
She looked at me with worry but she seemed calmer than before. "I-I don't know. But if we leave and those men don't find it here- who knows what they might do. Worst case scenarios is that they might hunt down my siblings."
Her voice was nervous yet determined. She had a lot on her shoulders. She then swung the bat against the stained wall with a loud thud and it began to bend back. I watched as she continued to swing the bat with all her might.
"I have to find it. I've been looking for it ever since they showed up, but all I could find was papers filled with unpaid bills." She spoke as she swung. Her brows were narrowed. She had so much intent.
I hate how she has to deal with this. I walked over to her before she could swing it again. She looked over at me with surprise before I gestured for the bat.
She watched as I broke down the wall with a few swings. The walls pieces began to crumble apart before deteriorating to the ground. I walked towards the opening and checking the inside of the wall. There was wooden structure that held the foundation of the home with fiberglass insulation placed neatly.
It looked like a normal wall. My eyes wandered to Subin who began to follow the wall's structure. She was knocking on the surface like there would be a response. I watched her walk over the mess while her eyes remained on one spot in the room.
It was like she was a radar.
"My parents would often come to their room, and when they did, I always heard them move things around. At first I thought they were having sex, but the noises didn't sound like it." She talked about it as if it were a natural topic.
The mention of sex through me off guard. I tried not to look at her because of the sudden images that came to mind.
She continued to speak as she stood at their opened closet sliding door.
"Now that I think about it... it always did stink whenever they left their door open." She went inside the closet and I followed her to watch what she could be doing.
She knock on the wall in the closet. It sounded hollow unlike the wall from before.
"They would say they're renovating," she whispered. "The sound that I would hear was like a wall being taken apart."
She was quiet for a moment before looking over at me. She gestured for the bat and I watched her ready to swing at the wall.
"If it wasn't going to be on that side, maybe it'll be over here." Her voice was low with focus.
The wall began to rip open as if it were made out poorly. We both looked at each other before quickly tearing apart the wall with our bare hands. Everything she told me- it made me worry more about her.
We froze once we saw a glimpse of an object.
There laid a suitcase that looked a little too new.
I watched as she hesitantly opened it. A sudden sense of danger came over me. I grabbed her hand before she could touch the object.
"Don't," I tell her. "We don't know what's inside there."
Her eyes looked deep into mine before staring at our hands together. I felt a rush of panic come over me.
"Sorry," I say. I looked away from her. I felt too embarrassed. I can already feel my face grow red. I didn't plan on holding her hand, but it just happened.
I heard a snort come out of her. I quickly turned around. Was she laughing?
She covered her mouth as she tried to hide her laughter and soft snorts. I gazed at her. She had such a cute laugh.
"Sorry," she whispered as she fixed herself.
I felt my lips curl. "Don't apologize."
Her eyes met with mine and I felt my heart skip a beat.
God, she's beautiful.
She quickly turned away to look back at the object we almost forgot about.
"So what do we do with this then?" She asks me.
I narrowed my brows as I thought of possible solutions.
"We can't let your fingerprints be on it," I tell her. "They could use it against you. Let's leave it. Maybe those men you spoke about will find what they're looking for."
She nodded her head. "So I should just leave a note?"
I hummed. "Yeah. That's for the best."
Before leaving the scene within the house, I took a photo of the suitcase for keepsakes. Who knows when we'll need it. Meanwhile, Subin left a note on the soban. I watched as she took one good look of her home before coming outside with me.
"Let's go, Chan," she tells me.
Together, we left the place. Her siblings eagerly waited for us and immediately asked what we did. Subin said she would tell them later and in return the two pouted. Her siblings soon fell asleep on the car ride to my house, and I would watch every time Subin would turn around to check on them.
She was quiet for most of the car ride. That was until a notification came through my phone. My eyes wandered to the message once we reached a red light.
Hansol: Wonwoo said he'll look deep into her parents.
Hansol: He'll contact you in the morning. Don't be surprised if you get a call before the sunrises. Hansol: Call me when he does. I still feel bad about what happened earlier today.
I carefully read his newest messages before smiling. I shouldn't have misjudged Hansol. He's been a good friend throughout my years of knowing him even knowing how to solve most of my problems.
He says he isn't great at helping, but without him, I wouldn't know what to do. Hansol was always quick when he had to be. He may be clueless at first, but whenever he gets time to think, that's when he's at best.
The mention of Wonwoo gave me brief flashbacks of high school. It's been awhile since I've heard about Wonwoo ever since he became a detective. He was always quiet, but now he's just a mystery. That hyung was always secretive even more so than Hansol. Who knows what he's like now.
I wonder how Hansol was able to contact him? Last I heard he changed his number. I saw Subin look at me. She seemed interested on what was going on.
"Is that Hansol?" She asks me.
"Yeah," I tell her. I hit the gas once the light turned green. "We have an old friend from high school that became a detective. Hansol said that he's going to help you."
I felt her eyes on me, but I was too busy looking at the road. She was quiet for a moment as though she was processing my words.
"Chan," she calls out to me.
I hummed in response.
"How long have you known Hansol?"
The mention of his name through me off guard, but I know she was just trying to get to know us better. Hansol has always stuck around me along with having the habit of bothering her. I don't blame her for being curious.
"Hansol and I met in the same high school you and I attended." My eyes were careful to make sure I could see the dark road. "We were in the same class and I approached him since he kept to himself."
I wasn't sure if I should tell her the whole story. It didn't feel right if I did. After all, Hansol never liked talking about what happened in high school.
I could hear her hum. "I see."
I smiled. "Yeah. Ever since then we've been having each other's backs."
She was quiet, but in the corner of my eye I could see her smiling. She must be imaging how we were like in high school since I didn't have class with her. She was always busy or gone because of her family.
I felt bad not telling her the whole truth, but it was for the best.
I couldn't tell her what really happened. Hansol and I did meet in high school as classmates, but we didn't meet in class.
We met on the rooftop where he almost took his life.
