❥ ───   Petra had always known there was unspoken tension between her father and Credo. Neither had mentioned anything to her, but the 22-year-old hybrid could sense it. She saw it in their eyes, their posture, the way they looked at one another and how Credo would instinctively place his hand over her shoulder with silent possession in Vergil's presence. And there was Vergil with his scrutinizing eyes; a gaze so sharp it could kill. Credo and Vergil where the alpha's in their respected circles, and now Petra's family was going to have two.

She sighed, visibly frustrated at the situation at hand because the passive aggressiveness needed to stop. "I wish you would at least try to get to know him a better," Petra breathed, huffing in much-needed air during one of their father, daughter training sessions. Time with him like this was usually a highlight, something she had always looked forward to. These days, however, being trained by Vergil was a borderline nightmare. There was no telling what mood Vergil would be in. And for Petra...like father, like daughter.
