✩ merchant!qimir x acolyte!reader | fluff | angst | humor | 2.3k
SUMMARY | during an evening of drinking with qimir, he strangely asks if you've ever thought about dating your master.
WARNINGS | kissing, drinking, implications of a spicy time post-story
RATING | teen+
NOTES | again this is probably outside of canon but all i can say is ilq (i love qimir)
///
In the lower level of Qimir’s newest target of a store invasion, several drunken bottles of alcohol and used shot glasses clutter the front counter. You sit across from him on a high stool, as if you were a customer to his bartending.
Which wasn’t quite far off, since he was the one who poured and bought everything for you tonight. Qimir had called for a celebration; you had successfully raided a small village nearby, seizing all valuable goods and leaving no witnesses behind. You did it for yourself, but also for your anonymous master–the same one Qimir serves.
While you are your master’s dedicated pupil, Qimir’s tasked with being your resourceful guide. He follows you across the galaxy, always having anything you need at your disposal and knowing where to go, who to find, and how to concoct everything from anything.
Sure, he may be clumsy and occasionally overly inquisitive, but you’ve grown to like him.
So much that you're retelling the time when a female Gungan tried to fight you in a cantina on Tatooine.
“And so, it turned out they thought I was the one who stole her ex-boyfriend, but it was the human at the table next to mine!”
Qimir breaks into a smile and nearly spits out the lomin ale in his mouth. After a fit of coughing and swallowing his drink, he shakes his head fondly. He seems truly amused and fully relaxed, though perhaps mostly due to the alcohol.
A few beats pass. It's a comfortable silence at first.
But then he starts playing with the stem of his bottle, and the air slowly begins to shift. It shifts entirely when he asks the next question–
“Why aren't you like this around him?”
Him referring to your shared master.
The mixture of spicebrew, lomin ale, Corellian wine, and whatever else you had has lowered your filter completely. You answer frankly, folding out your fingers to list the reasons.
“Firstly, he needs to get me drunk. Secondly, he’s not you, Qimir. And third, disregarding everything I just said: how do you know I'm not?”
“Am I wrong?” he presses, his eyes fixed on you as he raises an eyebrow and takes another swig of his drink.
“I mean, if he eventually shows his face to me, maybe I could. But until then…”
Nonchalantly, you lift a shoulder and down the rest of what’s in your cup. After finishing, you lean back onto the counter, resting your chin in your upturned palm, and wait for him to fill your cup again.
And so he does, but Qimir becomes uncharacteristically pensive. Eyes focused on serving you, rather than on you. After pouring your drink, his playfulness with the bottle turns into a tight-fisted grip. Maybe drunk Qimir was more somber. Quiet.
“Maybe…” His voice drops to a lower, deeper register than you’re used to, his eyes avoiding yours as his mouth tightens. An index finger rhythmically taps against his bottle, like a dooming countdown. “Maybe he’s not sure if you’re loyal enough to see his face.”
The sudden slamming of your cup against the counter breaks his demeanor, and he’s back to being his usual, easily-startled self.
“Well, that frustrates the shit out of me because I respect him!” you cry, almost yelling at him.
Qimir’s gaze sharpens, giving you his entire attention, and you stare back resolutely. Readying yourself, as if confiding in him might reach your master’s ears, wherever he may be. Hell, he probably was listening with a device somewhere on Qimir, on you, or within the store.
“I obey him. I've killed for him. I’d do anything for him,” your voice slightly wavers, but you push on. “I am literally devoted to him with every breath in my body.”
There’s a sting in your eyes, but you refuse to let yourself show weakness, even if it’s just Qimir in front of you. Bringing the cup to your mouth, you let the burn scald your throat, drowning any trace of sadness or frustration.
You chug for some time. After a while, Qimir lifts a hand, but you abruptly stop drinking and interject with a tired chuckle and small smile; he awkwardly drops his hand.
The serious moment passes swiftly with a twinkle in your eye. You silently thank the alcohol for that.
“Although, maybe that's half a lie.”
In the corner of your vision, you catch the intrigued quirk in Qimir’s eyebrow, along with a flicker of anger. Barely noticeable, but it’s there, and you wonder why he would be angry.
You waggle a finger. “Keep this between us, but”—you lean in closer and drop your voice to a whisper—“I'm probably more devoted to you than to him.”
You exchange a glance, and the expression on his face shifts from seriousness to amusement, the flicker of anger completely dissipated. He mirrors your earlier stance, resting his chin in his palm.
“That's only because I help you all the time,” he says, granting you a soft smile that reaches his eyes.
This is a rare moment from Qimir, so you try your best to commit it to memory. Remembering his warm glow, the crinkles around his eyes, and how close he is to you. So close that the hint of the alcohol in his breath brushes your face, but it’s not as strong as you thought it would be.
“Well, there's that…” you admit, nodding, and you break eye contact as you say–
“But you're also my friend, Qimir.”
You barely breathe the last few words out in a whisper, almost as if you were ashamed to say it. But you aren’t–worry merely runs rampant as you fear rejection or something of a similar shade, despite it being just a platonic confession.
“I am?”
His reaction causes you to peer back at him. He draws his head back with a tilt, and you’ve never seen him so puzzled before. There’s a brief pause as he gives it some thought, his eyebrows furrowing in contemplation.
Then, he nods his head and his lips curl into a crooked, almost cocky, grin.
“Huh. I guess I am.”
You clutch your chest in jest and muster your best puppy-eyed frown. “Ouch, if I knew this relationship was that one-sided, I would’ve asked him for another one of his followers to replace you.”
The glimmer in his eyes reads as good-natured, but the blatant flexing of his grip against the edge of the counter says otherwise.
“You wouldn't.”
You push back, jutting out your chin and getting close to him again with a flash of a smirk.
“Oh, I absolutely would.”
You stare at each other, holding your ground.
But then he breaks the little game when he slightly drags his lower lip between his teeth, followed by a fleeting glance towards your mouth.
Your breathing hitches.
In an instant, the moment shatters when Qimir clears his throat and pulls back.
“Do you…” Qimir begins hesitantly, his thumb absentmindedly rubbing a random spot on the counter. He inhales deeply, almost as if he’s steeling himself, then continues, “Have you ever thought you and him could be, like, something more?”
“You mean…” You squint, searching for the right words. “...have I ever thought about dating my master?”
“Mm-hmm.”
You raise an eyebrow and stare blankly at him.
“You've met him, right? We’re talking about the same guy?”
Before he answers, he sips again from his bottle. You become entranced by Qimir’s Adam’s apple as it bobs with each glug. Maybe these thoughts were being filtered through beer goggles, but if Qimir wanted to know about your current ranked dating choices, he'd probably be at the top of your list.
A soft pop sounds as his lips detach from it. The word kissable flashes through your mind.
“I mean, I know he's not really the talkative type but–”
“But what if he's butt-ass ugly?” you blurt out in a screech, pressing your hands into your cheeks in your drunken state.
“He is not butt-ass ugly,” Qimir cuts in, more defensively than you expect.
You drop your hands and chortle loudly, so much that it echoes throughout the store. In disbelief, you grin ear to ear.
“I thought you said you haven't seen him before!” you say, holding out an arm.
“I—I didn't. Haven't! I haven’t,” he stammers, raising a hand and shaking his head. He runs a hand through his disheveled hair. “But why must you assume he's ugly?”
You groan, shaking closed fists and tapping them to your forehead. “Why else wouldn’t he take off that stupid mask?”
You glance up, seeing Qimir’s nostrils flare as he opens his mouth, but you quickly cut him off.
“And why would I like him that way anyway? All he does is just bark orders and share wise, yet oddly cryptic, phrases.”
“Hey, so do I,” Qimir retorts, flicking the tip of your nose with his finger. The force he uses makes your nose sting a bit, but you’re sure he didn’t mean to flick you that roughly. In response, you ruffle your nose petulantly.
You could definitely get used to being like this with Qimir more often.
“Yeah, but you’re not as cryptic,” you point out, “and he’d be lucky if he was half as handsome as you, Qimir.”
You lightly touch his arm, expecting him to bask in your compliment, but he catches you off guard with a chuckle instead.
“Why are you laughing at my compliment?” you ask, somewhat hurt.
“I'm just enjoying your company, my”—he hesitates for a second, as if catching himself from saying something else, before meeting your gaze—“my friend.”
The way he says friend hangs in the air, carrying an unspoken weight. He shakes his head, as if brushing off a thought, and laughs awkwardly. “I’ve gotta get used to that.”
Surprisingly, he continues to dwell on the subject of you and your master. “I mean, if you really think about it, the guy's probably lonely. Probably also likes you a lot more than he lets on and–”
“Okay, stop.” You hold both hands out. “Why are you trying to set me up with him?” You gasp, “Oh, my god–is he your brother?”
“Wow, time flies by so fast!” Qimir exclaims dramatically, quickly getting up from his stool and practically tripping on his own feet. “It’s getting late, and I’m gonna head to bed. Good night!”
In the blink of an eye, he’s already darting upstairs to his temporary bedroom.
“Qimir, answer me!” you call out. “Is he a distant cousin? You must’ve seen him before if he’s related to you.”
“Good night, my friend!” he hollers back.
“Qimir, get back here!”
“Sweet dreams! And drink some water before you go to bed!”
Even in moments like these, Qimir still manages to have the final say, his words always laced with the utmost care for you.
///
A few hours go by, the moonlight shining strongly in the night sky. In the comfort of your makeshift bed nestled in one of the corners of the store, you toss and turn aimlessly. Your mind replays everything with Qimir from the last few hours.
And then realization hits you like a sack of duracrete bricks.
You bolt upright up from the bed and switch between muffling a scream in your pillow and smacking it against your face.
How could you have been so blind to how obvious it all was?
Throwing aside your covers, you carefully and quietly tiptoe upstairs.
At the top of the stairs, with the help of a few burning candles nearby, you peek at the sight of Qimir snoring softly on his side, arms flopped in different directions; it warms your heart.
You approach and take a seat on the empty side of his bed, summoning courage to gently trace the contours of his face, following the sharp lines of his jaw. He stirs awake moments later, turning to face you directly.
“Hey, what’s up?” Qimir mumbles groggily. He rubs his eyes. “Everything all right?”
“Qimir, can you pass a message onto my master?” you ask urgently.
“Right now?” he groans in annoyance, sitting up. “Can't it wait until morning?”
“No, I'm sure you can pass it on now. It’s a pretty simple message.”
You lean in. It’s a quick kiss as your hand rests on his arm. It has to be quick, or else you might change your mind.
Plush lips press against yours. It’s still and tense for a beat, and then he replies with a slight kiss back. He’s the one who breaks away first, but he leans his forehead against yours.
“Uh, I… You want me to kiss him?” he asks in confusion.
You slide your hands to the nape of his neck.
“If you mean kissing yourself, then yes, Master.”
Like flipping a switch, Qimir’s demeanor transforms into something entirely else. His presence intensifies, exuding confidence and strength you’re unused to. His eyes darken, locking onto yours with a gaze that can penetrate your soul.
His rich, deep voice returns from before, now tinged with authority.
“Took you long enough, my acolyte.”
This Qimir—your master—moves swiftly with urgency. His grip on your body is firm, almost possessive. His kisses are passionate, his tongue exploring your mouth with fervor.
“Told you I'm not ‘butt-ass ugly,’” he mumbles, almost growling, between kisses. You giggle, but your giggle quickly turns into a moan as he presses his body firmly into yours.
“And my mask isn’t stupid. I'll have you know it saved me so many–”
You silence your master with another kiss, focusing on the present and pushing aside debates that could be saved for later.
For now, all you want is to remain in the comfort of his bed, letting the night truly begin, marking the beginning of what your master and you have unknowingly long awaited for.

new girl
kika nazareth x reader
summary: you never wanted to be vulnerable until she came along
trope: grumpy (reader) x sunshine (kika)
on the pitch, you were ruthless.
you were never afraid to accept a challenge, or do a tackle. the rock-hard mentality of yours never wavered.
you were given the captain role at an early age for your childhood club team-- accepting huge responsibility and holding others accountable for their faults was something you weren't scared of doing.
when barcelona offered you a contract to play for the B-team at 15, you accepted it. you were a ruthless defender and having you means that an oppositions striker wouldn't have a chance to score on you.
now at 21, you've grown into a reliable, if somewhat grumpy, presence on the senior team. however, you were the best defender in the world.
your serious demeanor on and off the field is well-known, and while you're never outright mean-- with your actions showing your teammates that you have a high level of respect for them-- your reserved nature keeps you at a tiny distance from them.
its the 24/25 season and the coach assigns you, patri, and keira to show the new girls around the place.
keira chose to help ellie around, patri chose to be with ewa, so you were chosen to be with kika nazareth-- a forward coming from benfica.
after showing her around the pitch, the media rooms, where the lounge area was-- you ended up in the locker rooms with her.
"so here is our last stop! this is the locker room-- your locker will be next to mine," you say, pointing to the empty space beside the locker where your blue cleats sat.
"thank you! i'm so excited to be here and get started." kika beams, her enthusiasm almost tangible.
"welcome to the team. if you need anything, just ask me or any of the captains." you nod, a small smile tugging at your lips despite yourself.
over the next few weeks, kika's sunshine personality shines even brighter.
she greets everyone each morning with a smile, always has a positive word, and is the first to offer help or encouragement.
you find yourself drawn to kika's warmth, wanting to keep yourself around the fellow 21 year old-- even if you don't fully understand why.
in training, you started to notice how kika gravitated towards you, asking for advice or just chatting.
initially, you respond with your usual reserved tone. you wanted to stay focused on the training so you were on top of your game for there next match-- but kika's persistence starts to break down your walls.
in the locker rooms one day, you were finished chatting to ingrid and mapi about their future plans. they were talking about going to visit Ingrids family in norway during a week-long break, which you said that it would be good for them.
kika noticed that you were finished with your conversation with the couple, so she placed her hand on your shoulder to grab your attention before anyone else could.
"y/n, are you doing anything after this?" kika asked.
you looked at her with a light smile before turning away to put your cleats in the locker, "no, why?"
"do you want to go grab a coffee?" kika asks, a little hesitant that you might reject her offer.
"sure, I guess. coffee sounds good." you say before standing up and headed towards the doors.
kika watched you with knitted eyes before you turned around at the door, "are you coming?" you smirked.
"oh- yes!" kika jumped up and followed you out the doors.
your post-practice coffee runs with kika become a routine.
kika starts to talk about her family, her dreams, and her love for the game right away-- while you listen.
after a few weeks, you start to slowly open up about your own experiences. the way that kika kept her full attention on you while you spoke was something that you silently appreciated.
"you know, I've been admiring how dedicated you are to the team. I used to see it from another teams perspective and go, "damn she's tough." but now I realize how much you love and care for us." kika says one evening.
your eyes twinkle at this. if you had to pinpoint it, maybe this was the moment where you started to fall for the portuguese. nobody has made an effort to compliment you in such an unique way.
"thank you, kika. you've been pretty amazing since you've gotten here. you are breath of fresh air that we've needed." you smile.
giving out verbal compliments weren't your thing, and kika seemed to notice that. you liked to express your liking for people through physical actions and gift giving. the portuguese's heart fluttered knowing that you're opening yours up for her.
another month goes by and its the beginning of 2025. the team begins to notice the change in you. you still maintain your serious persona, but with kika, you seem different—softer, happier.
the way you smile at kika, the way your eyes light up when kika enters the room, it becomes clear to everyone that there's something special between you two.
they're aware that they'll have to bring it up to you sometime, just to get clarification on your relationship with the girl, but they're content with observing for a bit.
during a particularly tough champions league match against PSG, you were frustrated.
after VAR cancelled a goal you scored due to a foul, and barcelona nearly conceding a goal thanks to an error from you-- you just wanted something good to happen for your team.
the score is 2-2, with the aggregate being 3-2 in favor of barcelona. you needed to make sure that psg didn't score, and you needed to create a chance for one of your forwards to score as well.
at the 60th minute, kika is subbed in for salma.
not even three minutes later, kika makes an impact.
aitana passed the ball back to you and you found kika up-top and on-side ready to receive a pass.
you shot the ball towards her and kika headed the ball behind the net, scoring the winning goal.
the team celebrates, but it's you who sprints to her first, lifting her up in a rare display of open joy.
"kika!!!" you screamed in joy as she holds you.
"what a great assist." kika says, focusing on you as the rest of the team joins for a group hug.
"don't give me all of the credit, you made a great header. ugh what a star!" you say.
the rest of the team is smiling in joy seeing the two of you. they're aware that your bond, emotionally, is passed the platonic stage-- but its a sight to see you so radiant and optimistic.
a week later, you invited kika over to your apartment. this is new, considering you never invited any of the barcelona girls over unless there was an event you were throwing.
kika and you were going to bake a few things while watching a new netflix show season that was released.
little did you know, kika was going to ask you something important.
"y/n, can I ask you something?" kika says, sitting down on your soft couch beside you.
you turn your head towards her, giving her a light smile as your eyes twinkled with a tiny bit of fear.
"of course, kika. what's on your mind?" you respond.
"do you ever think about... us? I mean, us being more than just friends?" she says, clenching her teeth together as she is nervous about a possible rejection.
"I do, actually. I've been every-night since the beginning of the season. kika, you're the first person who’s made me feel... alive in a long time." you look at her, the vulnerability in kika's eyes mirroring your own feelings.
kika reaches out, taking your hand in hers. "i feel the same way. you make me feel safe and loved."
"well, would me being your girlfriend make you feel more loved?" you squeeze her hand, a smile spreading across your face as you pull her body towards yours.
"yes it would, can I be your girlfriend?" kika smiles as her head rests inside of your neck.
its not the first time you've cuddled with kika like this, but it feels special now that she is your girlfriend.
"yes my love." you kiss the top of her head softly.
as a year goes by being with your girlfriend, you find yourself opening up more, your grumpiness tempered by kika's unwavering positivity.
kika, in turn, finds strength in your steady and strong presence, knowing she always has someone to lean on.
your teammates, patri claudia and cata in particular, often joke about how kika is the only one who can make you smile so effortlessly--but it's clear to everyone that your love has made you both better, on and off the field.
my master list is here if you want to read more fics <3

Daisies and Talks
Simon Ghost Riley x Reader
Hi lovelies! Lia here and I know this pic is a bit misleading but I SWEAR on you that Simon doesn't die in this one, IT'S A HAPPY STORY OKAY. I was debating on making this a part two of Ghostie's parents progressed and though you're free to think that, I thought it would be much cuter to leave this to stay as a story on it's own.
Ghost's mum plays a big role in this one though so if you're not very comfortable with mentions of death or anything then I suggest leaving this one out and skipping. Two posts in one week? Are y'all lucky or am I just emptying my drafts? Y'all will never know.. AHAHAHA.

I'd like to think that everyone is familiar with the saying "You never know what you have until you lose it", many of us having it said during childhood but you never truly experience that till your older right? Wrong, that couldn't be more wrong for a man like Simon Riley, the man who lost it all at a young age, no one left to care for him but himself.
He always used to hear that from his mother, over some the toys she used to make for him that he cherished and loved so much as a kid. Simon knew his family wasn't up their with the middle class but he also knew they weren't exactly poor, though his father might prove that wrong with how much he's driving the family into debt.
Due to this, Simon always taught himself never to get attached to another person though he tried working on it, he doesn't know what he'd do if he does. That was before you came along skipping your way into his frail heart, making all the walls her built crumble with just a few words and a soft stare, someone who was patient enough to stay.
Simon can't let you go, he took that saying that his mother used to chant and took it to heart. He didn't need to lose you to know you were so fucking important, like that the man held onto everything that you were.
Cherishing moments with you although sometimes wishing his mother could see you. He wanted his mom to know that he found that person that only is in fairy tales she used to read him to at night. Maybe you were sent by her, that's it right?
Because all Simon could think about staring at your face while you sleep next to him was "how?". How were you able to wiggle your way into his heart so easily? You make him feel so alive and full, sometimes it causes him to be self-destructive, starting fights simply because he doesn't think he deserves you but you were so patient, holding him as if he was the whole world after every fight.
Because of you, that part of Simon slowly disappeared, knowing that he should change his ways because you deserved better. They say there's one moment in someone's life where you know for sure that, that is the person you want to spend your life with. Do you wanna know what that moment was for Simon?
Every death anniversary of Simon's mother, he visits that grave, sometimes a little later than usual. You've been in a relationship with this man for a little over a year now and to say you've grown attached to that man like he did to you was an understatement. He saw you there, leaving flowers.. Daisies in particular, he told you those were her favorite.
You sat next to the grave, absentmindedly staring up at the sky, it was beautiful out that day. You talked to yourself, more like his mother really, greeting her quite casually as if you've talked to her before. Simon at first found it a bit odd, though he did tell you everything regarding where his mom was buried and dates when he'd visit her.
You've been doing this secretly for at least once a month for a couple now, not having the heart to tell Simon but it just so happens that he was a little earlier there than he usually does go. He hid himself behind among other things surrounding the grave, listening to the conversation you've been having with his mother's tomb stone.
"He's been doing better now.. I'm sure you're so proud of him because am I, I know you're watching over him and I promise to do my best to make Simon happy and make sure he's cared for, he deserves all that and so much more"
Simon listened, on and on as you continue telling his mother updates on his life and how he's been doing. He put two and two together slowly realizing that you've been visiting her grave for a while now.
"Thank you, if it weren't for you then I wouldn't have Simon. My Simon.. someday I'll help him create the life you'd want for us, I know he'd just say that you would want what we want and I know that for a fact. I wish you were here, I would've loved for you to see Simon smile again."
You looked back at the grave. "You know Mrs. Riley, I feel safe here, are you the one doing that?" Smiling as you looked up and rested your eyes a little.
You leaned back a bit with a satisfied sigh hum after a deep breath, Simon's deep voice making you jolt up, "You know she'd want you to call her mom right? Or at least Ma Riley is what the other kids who she practically adopted in the neighborhood call her" he walked out from wherever he was hiding himself.
"Simon I-" You were cut off by seeing the tears running down his eyes, you stood up from where you were sitting, not bothering to dust off your backside that probably had grass stuck to your clothes.
You immediately wrap your arms around your boyfriend and gave him a tight squeeze, letting go only to cup his face in your hands and wipe his tears with your thumb, Simon leaned his forehead on yours, looking at your eyes with his teary ones.
"Oh Simon, I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have done this without asking for your permission. God I'm so stupid, you hate me now, don't you—" Before you could even continue what you were saying, Simon cut you off with his shushing, pressing a chaste kiss on your forehead.
You knew it must've meant a lot to him, he didn't have enough words to describe how grateful he was for you. Unbeknownst to you, whenever Simon did talk to his mother, he'd always find himself worming to you somehow.
One of the reasons he had brought the ring between his fingers at that very moment, coming to ask his mother's grave for guidance on how he's going to do it..

. she was a mama's baby, qnd loved to be in her mother's arms so everytime you come over she's in her mama's arms, hiding her face in her chest.
. the more you visit, the more she starts to trust you. ray and maya were surprised when nya started to cry when you had to go home one evening
. seeing them again after many years was very emotional for you, not them, though.
. "im sorry, who are you?" kai asked, seeing a random lady hug his little sister.
. "silly, im your auntie. your father's sister, to be specific, i never did really like labels!"
. "our...huh?"
. it's mostly like the relationship misako and lloyd have, but just you and the smith siblings.
. nya tries to be as kind as possible toward you, kai of course as well, however you and nya seem to have more of a bond.
☆ COLE
. your lou's sister. you never had a passion for singing like your brother, but you were pretty successful in the arts department.
. you were a pretty famous artist, almost everyone in ninjago knows your name.
. your art is seen from lou's dining room, to the ninjagos art museum.
. lou was the one who told you lily, his wife was pregnant. you asked many questions, but the big question was the gender.
. when finding out, because lily wanted to know the gender before birth, you started buying anything "baby boy" related.
. blue. that's what you first think of when a baby boy is coming, right?
. timeskip, yahoo, cole is born and sadly you've had to move away for a business emergency.
. you had a feeling cole wouldn't remember who you were, he was only just born when you had to move.
. before his mothers passing, lily tried to best to keep memory of you around the house, hopefully so little cole could remember some fragments of you.
. he..he didn't, lmao.
. you visit lou one day, and surprisingly, his son, cole, who is now a teenager, also seems to be visiting his father with you, who assumed his friends.
. you pinch his cheeks after hugging him and kissing him all over. cole was beyond uncomfortable and confused.
. "y/n, please, take it easy-"
. "you try not seeing your nephew for years and suddenly seeing him randomly out of no where, lou!"
. "...i...i did, however in this case he is my son."
. you, lou, and cole have had some time to discuss about who you are and coles eyes lit up.
. "you were my mother's best friend? could you maybe, tell me more about her?"
. you smiled, "let's start off with, your mother was the kindest and sweetest soul in the world."
☆ JAY
. let's make this simple. your edna's long time best friend. so you pretty much the same age as her.
. obviously ed and edna are jay's adopted parents, you found out by visiting the junkyard one day and seeing...baby...in Edna's arms.
. she was feeding him a bottle. he was so small, he hits perfectly in your sister's arms.
. "now i may be old, but i ain't stupid, sista'. why didn't you tell me you adopted?"
. edna laughed, "oh dear, no, this little one showed up on our doorstep last night. we couldn't just leave the poor thing there, we had to take him in. and we don't have the guts to let him go just yet so...ed is figuring out the adoption papers..."
. ever since that day, you have been coming around more often to help the elders take care of jay.
. jay was homeschooled, of course when he was old enough; ed taught him the abc's and 123's.
. you would help of course. you would spoil this boy to your full extent.
. he wanted this toy? it's his. wants mcdonalds? one happy meal please. is upset? two tickets to the mega monster amusement park!
. of course, you had a life of your own. you've barely had time to see ed, edna and jay anymore because of your work.
. so one day, ed and edna mailed you a letter, saying they will visit iay and invited you to come. maybe jay will remember you?
. timeskip to them pulling up to the bounty and jay's confused face.
. "ma, who is that?" jay asked looking at you with a confused look.
. yall had the talk about who you are and jay felt terrible for not remembering you. he always assumed his "dad" was taking him to all the amusement parks.
. he tried to catch up with you, wanting to know more of your life and your work placement.
. little does he know, ed and edna have been telling you mall the embarrassing stories he's gone through as a kid; your favorite being his kissing pillow?
. didn't you buy him that pillow?
☆ ZANE
. your dr. juliens younger sister.
. you were astonished at his latest "creation", zane. you were there when zane came fully online, and was "alive".
. he was almost like a human, he had human emotions of course he didn't know that yet. he was basically just born.
. upon hearing of your brothers death, you were deeply affected. you left ninjago for a little while, forgetting the world but never forgetting zane.
. you regret leaving him alone. but you weren't in the condition to be taking care if someone. you have to take care of yourself first.
. timeskip, years passed and you have received a letter from an old friend, inviting you to come back to ninjago and visit you.
. he mentioned zane, so you of course agreed.
. the address lead you to a monestary. you were a bit confused buy you knocked on the large doors.
. moments later, the doors open wide to revel a figure dressed in a white ninja gi, who looked back at you twice as confused as you.
. "good morning, stranger. what brings you to the monestary?" he asked and you felt your heart drop.
. "zane?"
. he tilt his head to the side, "yes...that is my name...how do you know my name?"
. other male voice cuts you off, "yo, zane- who's there?"
. eventually, your old friend who invited you here in the first place appeared beside zane and with a smile invited inside their home.
. insert the other three boys, jay, cole, and kai confused and asking each other questions while zane, master wu, and you spoke in a separate room.
. "so...your my father sister?"
. you smiled and nodded, "i never thought i would see you again!" you hugged the boy who froze at your touch, but politely hugged you back.
. you are family after all.
. you feel so bad for leaving zane all alone, possibly confused and lost until he found sensei wu and the other ninja, but that doesn't stol you from spoiling the heck out of the four boys.
. "but...y/n, i have already forgiven you. we do not need your-"
. jay covered zane's mouth, laughing sheepishly as kai spoke up, holding a bunch of video games you have given to them..
. "oh nono- please, we are more then happy to receive these gifts. your more then kind."
. cole nods in agreement.
. you smile and leave their gaming room, only to have master wu smack each of the boys, beside zane, on the heads
☆ i think i went a bit overbored 😭

Orc Thorald x Halforc Reader
Mature
Word count: 3,281
You've heard of my mother and father's love story, well this is mine. I am (y/n) daughter of Captain Rune, and I'm half orc half human. I take after my father mostly, but I'm much smaller than most orc women. You know I have a brother named Bain.
Over the years I've been helping my mother, and brother with the farm while my father was sailing around. When my brother turned fifteen he went to sail with our father permanently. They kept sailing for a few years until mother got sick. She got the flu, and didn't last the month. My father tried to sail, but only lasted a few months before coming back home. That's when my brother became captain. That's where my story begins. Thorald.
When I first met Thorald I was twelve, and he along with my brother were sixteen. Father docked for the winter, and Thorald with his father stayed in the barn. He had lost his mother that spring to a fire, and it made him quiet. If you weren't my father, his or my brother you might as well forget about him talking back to you. He would smile at me when I gave him blankets, and hot water to the barn. I guess that winter was when my crush started. Every winter after they would stay with us, and when I turned fourteen they built onto the house. Thorald and I would find ourselves in the kitchen at highmoon for sweets, and over the years we became very close.
When I turned nineteen my mother got sick. I found myself getting quiet, and working more than normal. I didn't notice until one night I was carrying carrot bags into the barn when I heard a deep throat being cleared. I turn to Thorald standing with the rest of the bags.
“(y/n)...” he starts as he places the bags down with the rest, and stands tall in front of me. “I need you to rest. I can't have you cold like me.” He lightly holds my hands. “Call me selfish, but I need you to keep being my happiness when I come home from sailing.” He kisses my fingers before leaving me in the barn.
She died that night. That winter they left, and they only returned to let father off.
Today started like any other day, I woke to my father humming his and my mother's song, and me needing to start breakfast. I throw my hair into a ponytail, change some of my earrings to different ones, and change into my work clothes. My brother is docking today, so I have to get the barn ready for the extra men needing a quiet place. I already cleaned up Bain, and Thorald's room yesterday.
As I'm laying down blankets, and baskets of food I hear the loudest group of degenerates enter my farm. I chuckle at my own joke as I walk out to meet them as they come around the house.
“(Y/n)!” Bain comes running at me at full speed.
“Bain NO!” I ran around the porch with him chasing me trying to reach me.
I see Thorald, and launch myself onto his back. Clenching onto him like a scared cat. He laughs as his rough hands hold me in place by my thighs.
“No fair you know he won't let me get you.” Bain whines like a grown man child, because he knows how much stronger Thorald is to him.
“The meat is cooking, and (y/n) has cleaned up the place. Now you all go wash up, so you can eat.” My father stops my brother whining as he leans on the pillar.
They all walk off, leaving me on Thorald's back. He looks over his shoulder.
“I'm glad to see that smile of yours. I hated leaving you.” He slowly couches down, letting me slide down his back.
“I can't lie to you. I did go quiet for most of the time you were gone, but when I realized I needed to get things in order I got better.” I smile up at him as we walk inside. “Oh I fixed your blanket.”
He gives me a kiss on my forehead before going to his room. I knew he was saying thank you, but couldn't speak from the others that already came into the living room. The rest of the night went by great with stories, food, and laughter.
The following morning I woke to silence, which is odd for a farm full of sailing men. I go down to the kitchen to only my father sitting at the table eating meat from last night.
“Morning father. Where is everyone?” I ask, grabbing the rib from his plate.
“They are cleaning out the ship.” He swats my hand as he talks. “Apparently they have some trunks that are full of stuff. I don't know. I honestly wasn't listening, I had just opened my eyes.” We chuckle.
As my day went on I would see a couple men here and there, which is odd. They usually lay around when they dock. I don't even see Thorald. He usually is next to me every second until they leave in spring.
“Hey uh Odo, right?” I stop a Satyr that works on the ship.
“Oh yes ma'am” He says very timidly.
“Do you know where Thorald may be?” I ask, watching him fidget with his hands.
“Well I uh saw him on the ship earlier, but we were cleaning it out. He could be in the house.” He tells me, but I know it's not true.
“Alright.” I've had enough of them being secretive.
I march through the farm to my horse, and ride to our docks. I tie my horse to the dock post watching the men stop, and look at me before moving quickly around. What in the world are they doing?
“(Y/n) what are you doing here?” Bain stops me as I step onto the deck.
“I was just checking on everyone. I haven't seen anyone all day.” I look around at them moving crates off the ship onto wagons we use on the farm.
“Oh we have been finishing the ship for winter.” He walks me back down. “We are almost done, so we'll see you at dinner.”
“Now you wait a minute.” I stop his subtle shoving. “You tell me right now, what's going on?” I put my foot down.
“I…I wish I could tell you (y/n). I really do.” He looks down.
“Hhh where's Thorald?” I sigh in complete confusion.
“He's in town.” Bain looks down in shame.
“In town, but I made sure we had everything at home…” I try to look up at him, but he looks down. “Oh. He's there.” I don't say anything else as I mount my horse.
“(y/n) wait.” Bain grabs the reins. “He's not there for that. It's not my place to tell you, but please just wait.” Bain looks at me with hard begging eyes.
I give a subtle nod before I begin riding home. My mind went to what else could he be doing at a woman's hotel. Once I'm home I go inside to work on my baking. I'm halfway through the fourth large orc pie, which is like three human size pies in one, when my father walks into the kitchen.
“Just like your mother. Alright sit down.” He pulls me away from the new pie crust I was starting. “What happened?” He gives me a rag for my hands.
“I found out where Thorald has been today, and I hate it.” I throw the rag onto the table. “He's in town.” He sits for a moment then his eyebrows raise up. “Yea, so I'm baking enough stuff for an army, because I can't think about what he is doing.” I huff.
“(Y/n)!” We hear from outside. “Where's (y/n) guys!” They must have pointed to the house, because someone practically rips the door down as they run into the kitchen.
Thorald is standing in my kitchen with no breath, a torn shirt, and marked face. My father beats me to stand.
“I think it's best you go outside, Son.” He tells Thorald.
“I can't go until you understand why I was in town. I can't let you think…” My father starts pulling him to the backdoor. “No.. Rune, come on.” He is mostly muffled by the door, and then I hear my father's muffled voice.
I almost fall out of my chair when a deep roar comes through the air. I silently get back to baking, and when my father comes inside, he just sighs at my back before going to the living room. The rest of the day, I hear banging coming from the woods behind the barn, and I know immediately that it's Thorald. I grab my basket, fill it with a little of everything I made, and head toward the banging. I come to the clearing and see Thorald hammering a board to the side of the building. I set the basket down on the stack of wood he has next to him. He reaches for another piece of wood when he hits the basket handle, making him look down and then up to me.
“(Y/n).” He drops his hammer as he turns to me.
“You've been out here all afternoon, so I brought you food.” I don't know what to do, so I just look at the basket.
“I won't touch your food until you listen to my truth.” He sits on a log as he wipes himself with his shirt.
I move the basket to his hands as I sit next to him with a sigh. He hands me a pastry with jam, and then grabs the sandwich I made.
“I'd never touch a woman other than my own woman. I was at the hotel, because I found out my mother's sister is working there. I went to talk to her, but she would rather work there.” He shrugs. “I understand why you thought I was doing that, I would think the same, but I would never do that to you.” He pulls me to his side. “I was hoping…well I was hoping I could have your permission to be involved in the courting ceremony.” He stumbles over his words, and he doesn't realize he's squeezing me.
“You'd want to court me?” I look up at him in shock. Me? “Thorald you do know there are women fighting in the Town Square to even start the courting process with you.” I tell him in general amazement.
“Yea. I saw some of that today, actually none are my type. I like my women (y/short/tall he's 6.5), and (y/plus “soft”, athletic “lean”).” He smirks down at me.
I turn with a burning face, and look around the building he was working on when I came up.
“Don't answer yet. I want to do this right.” He gets up, and begins hammering again with more speed. I giggle as I watch him build away.
Throughout the fall months I would wake to gifts on my nightstand. My favorite is a cape he made with a fur cape. As it started to snow it kept me so warm. I would also give my own gifts for this courtship by having his lunch and dinner when he'd walk into the kitchen. I also am making him, well us, a quilt for when the courtship is over, and we get married.
I wake up earlier today, and as I'm getting ready I hear the floorboards creak. I hold back my giggle as my doorknob starts to turn. I quickly step behind the door once it begins to open, and Thorald quietly steps into the room. His back is to me when I tickle his side making him jump around with a deep growl.
“What are you doing awake?” He chuckles as he moves closer to me practically caging me to the wall.
“I don't know I woke up bright today.” I lean against his body for his warmth. “Besides I wanted to catch who was leaving me things.” I look up at him with my hands resting on his chest.
“Things like this?” He holds up fur gloves that matched the cape.
“Oh it matches!” I exclaim as I take them to try on. “They are so soft. Thank you.” I hug him with my face cuddling in his chest.
“I want to take you somewhere.” He plays with the ends of my hair while he hugs me.
He helps me put my new cape on, and leads me to the building he was working on when he asked me to start the courtship. It's now completed to be a great looking cabin. A lovely porch with a swing. I always wanted one.
“This is your home.” Thorald tells me as he leads me up the steps to the front door.
“Mine?” I ask, looking up at him confused.
“Yes I built this for you, and hopefully me if you accept my courtship.” He walks me around the cabin showing me the living room with a big fireplace, a big kitchen, and a couple rooms.
He made the wood on the wall look so smooth, and classic looking. I couldn't see myself anywhere else.
“I love it.” My cheeks hurt from smiling so big. I walk into the farthest bedroom. “Oh wow.”
I jump onto the big bed, and bury myself in the soft blanket and pillows. I roll around with groans and sighs. I'm so wrapped up in the soft bed I jump out of my skin when a hand rubs up my leg. I look up to a smiling Thorald.
“Thorald you know I accept this courtship. I wouldn't have said yes before if…” I'm silenced by Thorald kissing me so hard that his tusks poke my cheeks, and I feel mine press into his cheeks.
The warmth of his body wakes mine up as he leans over me. My legs completely open for him to rest in between them, and to rest on his hips. I moan against his lips as I squeeze my knees to his sides as he slides a hand into my hair, and his other arm wrap along my lower back making me arch toward him. He started to quickly kiss down my cheek to my neck, he tightens his hold on me.
“Thorald.” I moan out as I grab his arms.
His growl sounds frustrated as he leans back on his hand, and looks me over. In a blink of an eye he is ripping my clothes off of me, causing me to let myself lose. I push him up, so we both are on our knees, and begin to pull his clothes off. His hands hold me hard against him once his clothes are with mine on the floor of our room. I moan as I reach up to kiss him. With his hands roaming my body I grip his shoulders as I melt against his warm body.
“Lay down for me, baby.” He softly says in my ear.
He stays on his knees as I lay back onto the pillows. He runs his hands up my thighs as he leans down with kisses going back and forth from one thigh to the other. The grip he has on my thighs will leave a mark, but I'll love the memories. He stops for a moment giving me a quick glance before running his tongue along my opening. I gasp with a quick hand to the top of his head, but his tongue goes faster side to side, and around my clit before he begins to suck. I jump up scratching his shoulder while leaning on my elbow so I can watch his tongue move. His tongue then disappears into me leaving my head to fall back with a gasping moan. My legs are locking against his head as I begin to shake.
“Thorald please yes.” I fall back onto the bed with a deep gasp as he gives one finally suck.
I watch him as I catch my breath as he lifts my legs to hold in one hand as he holds himself in the other moving the head along my opening. My eyes clothes as he begins to push in making us both gasp. Him pushing completely through makes me lock my eyes with him while holding onto the back of his neck. He leans on one elbow as he holds me close with the other as he begins to move.
“I can't believe you accepted.” He kisses me hard.
“Thorald I…” I can't talk, I'm too overwhelmed.
“Just relax against me, baby. I got you.” He bites my earlobe as I hold onto him.
With me holding onto him he sits up with me on his lap. His hands move from my neck and back down to my hips as they move on their own. I lean my head against his as I roll my hips with a tight hold on his shoulders.
“That's it.” He groans into my shoulder. “(y/n)!” I begin to shake against him.
“Thorald please…” I moan out. “help.” I moan in frustration.
He tightly grips my hips, and helps me grind against him. I arch up with a loud scream like moan when I finally let go. Thorald takes my breast into his mouth as he lays me down. He pounds into me with a groan, tight squeeze of his arms, and his hot seed fills me.
“Oh my Gods.” I gasp for breath.
He rolls over with me on his chest.
“I can't let you go.” He softly says into my hair.
“You don't have to.” I smile into his chest.
I gasp as I feel him to get hard again as his hands move along my back. I move my hips as I lean up with my hands on his chest. His hands keep moving along my body as I move my hips to grind slowly against him. He pulls me back down to kiss me bringing his knees up, and begins to slowly push up. I hold the back of his neck as I hide my face into his neck with a moan. He moves faster with each moan that leaves me, and in seconds I'm practically screaming with him holding me down with deep rams. I tighten up against him with a tight grip on the back of his neck, and I finally relax against his body with a loud relaxed moan. He follows seconds later with a deep growl, and him gripping my chin with a deep kiss. He slowly pulls out of me, and softly rolls us to our side, holding me to his chest.
When I woke up that morning I had breakfast on the nightstand, and a naked orc trying to sneak back into the bed. I giggle at him as I pull him into a kiss. We pull back for him to pull the tray over my lap as he sits behind me, letting me lean against him. I lift pieces of fruit and bacon up to him, and we enjoy breakfast.
We got married that spring, and stayed in our home for a month before they had to start sailing again. After two years Thorald stopped sailing to stay with me on the farm. Which was smart because I ended up pregnant with twins, our boys Arik and Dagen. I had our daughter, Astra, when the boys were five.

OUTLAW (18)
ATEEZ poly!ot8 x Reader
Cowboy AU / Wild West
Series Masterlist
Warning: none.
A/N BETA READ (@mariana-mmtz). Just know I am reading every single one of your comments and reblogs. And I love them so much. Just to let you know. I might add a special shoutout for all of you who made my day with your comments lol.
As the evening was starting to turn dark, the boys had gone back into their roles of being with one another. You could see how at ease they all felt now that they were all together. The four boys who were staying in the city had always been a bit tense. They were worried about their comrades and thus it created a stale environment full of depression. It was clear they fed off each other’s energies. They needed every single one of them in order to be content.
While they knew they were all together, you had noticed one person missing during dinner. The boys didn’t seem to care enough, at least not until they had all finished and Wooyoung noticed how many plates there were to wash.
The boy was mad, stomping around as he made a bowl for the captain. He was about to scold the man until you spoke up, telling him you would take the meal. The boy grumbled to himself, shoving the food into your hands as he went back to cleaning.
There wasn’t anywhere you could knock so you had just called out that you were going to enter the tent. When you got a response, you moved the tarp to the side and passed through. You knew he wasn’t doing anything, seeing as it was just the main tent where they would gather for meetings.
“I brought you a bowl of soup.” You gestured to the plate. “Wooyoung got mad that you didn't come out.”
Hongjoong had been looking over some papers at a desk, glancing up at you. “He'll live.” He hummed. When you set the plate down in front of him, he gave a nod of his head and moved to begin eating. “Thank you.”
You tried not to be nosey and look over the papers he had, so you opted to look around the table, trying to find other things to occupy yourself with. Hongjoong placed the spoon down into the bowl as he kept his eyes on you.
You look awkward to be standing there next to him. He wondered why it was you hadn’t just walked out after giving him the food; however, he figured you wanted something if you were the one to do the delivery. He decided to make things less suffocating by being the one to start a conversation.
“Are you okay?” His question caught you off guard, looking at him with wide eyes.
You licked your lips as you thought about his question. “At this moment or in the past two weeks?” You asked, looking down.
Sighing, you felt like you knew exactly what it was you wanted to say. You looked up at Hongjoong, meeting his eyes. “I'm relieved.” You breathed out. “That you are all okay and safe for the most part. I wanted to come find you all right away, but the boys told me I had to wait. Time went painstakingly slow. It felt like torture to not know how you all were.”
Hongjoong turned to give you his full attention, one leg lifted over the other as he got comfortable in the chair. “I'm sure you weren't the only one worried.” He told you.
“So you all have said.” You laughed softly. “Thank you.” You suddenly spoke up, looking at him with kind eyes.
“For what?” He frowned, eyebrows pinched together.
“Keeping the others safe.” You smiled. “I know you don't like me much, but I appreciate you.” Hongjoong looked at you like you had grown an extra head.
He had given you no reason to like him. No reason to really even think about him. He hadn’t really spoken to you much, but somehow you appreciate him? He knew that you were different from what the others had said, however now he was just a bit skeptical.
“In fact, after all this time, I think you're an inspiration. What you've done with the boys—how you've kept them together for so long. They speak highly of you.”
Hongjoong hummed as your feelings now made sense. A small smile grew on his face as he thought about his friends. He didn’t realize how much his leadership affected them so much. He knew they spoke about him, they always spoke about each other. But to have them speak about him in such a way that made people see him as an inspiration had him wanting to cry.
After so long, he knew they were much closer than a lot of other gangs. He was glad to have reached that kind of level of friendship. He had tried so hard to keep them all together, it seemed like that paid off. They trusted him so much and he didn’t want to lose it.
Looking over at you, he knew that they were starting to care deeply for you. If he was to ask them to leave you he knew they would, but at the cost of some of their own happiness. He had never seen the boys become so enamored with someone so quickly. Now that he was actually having a conversation with you, he could see why they would be.
“I can't remember a time when we made friends that lasted a long while.” He expressed. “They come and go after finding out what we do. I've tried my best at keeping them together, but sometimes I fail to do that.” He let out a deep sigh, pursing his lips as he had just expressed an insecurity he had.
Your lips slowly pulled up into a smile at his confession. You were excited to get something from him after never speaking more than two words to him. “Everyone has their differences. Even all of you. I'm sure it is tough to do what you do.” You comforted him.
Hongjoong pursed his lips. His jaw clenched as his face suddenly looked at you appalled. Here you were speaking your mind and somehow he confessed something he held deeply to you. It bothered him to know you were able to do that with him. He had hidden so much from others, even his closest friends, but all you had to do was tell him that you understood him and he opened his mouth.
“Why are you like that?” He glared.
“Like what?” You didn’t seem affected by his glare, though you did raise a brow at his change in attitude.
“Like you know what to say to get people on your side.” He clenched his fist. “What more do you want? You already have the others worried. Why speak to me like you understand me? Don't you know? We've killed men. We are criminals. Why associate yourself with people like that?” He stressed.
“I never said I did.” You immediately retorted, face turning stoic. However, he watched as you licked your lips and suddenly looked down.
“When Mingi saved me, I thought it was going to end for me. I had jumped to save that girl but at the cost of my own life.” You had an expression of thoughtfulness as you recalled that day to him. He listened intently to you, knowing that something like that wasn’t a nice experience to relive.
“It made me realize all the regrets I had in life. Instead of feeling scared, I felt so angry with myself for not noticing sooner the life I led wasn't one I would have wanted. I had a mental breakdown after Mingi turned up, but these past few weeks made me realize that the day I found you all was the day I started to see the kind of person I wanted to be.”
“Sure, at first I thought you were all criminals and scumbags, but after getting to know you all things changed. In the eyes of the public, you are criminals and outlaws. But to me, you're the people who saved me and opened my eyes. That's worth more to me than anything.”
He didn’t know your story, just as you didn’t know his. There was a lot that you were in the dark about and Hongjoong wondered why it was that you didn’t ask about it. The boys had explained that you were a very understanding person who trusted her intuition about people. Any sane person would try their hardest to stay away from people like them, but here you were staying with them in their camp.
There would come a day when the boys would want to grow up and find their own ways, but for now Hongjoong wanted to keep them together for as long as possible. If that meant keeping you at arms length, then he was willing to put his group on the line. At least the line that would lead them to you.
“You shouldn't be reckless.” Hongjoong told you. “We won't always be there to save you.”
Your lips pulled over your teeth as you grinned at the man. “Says the outlaw.” You chuckled. You got up to leave the tent, turning back to look at the man. “Besides now we're even from when I didn't tell anyone you were in town all those weeks ago.” You teased.
“You're a menace.” Hongjoong scoffed, rolling his eyes playfully. “You'll fit right in.” He took a sip of the soup to hide the fact that he had just acknowledged you as part of the group.
A soft look cast over your features as you smiled softly. “Thanks, Captain.”

Leitmotifs in Across The Spiderverse.
Let's talk about how the music of Across The Spiderverse tells us more than what might be obvious. Spoilers for both movies from here on out: you've been warned.
EDIT: added in one more very important instance.
For those who don't know or need a reminder, a leitmotif is a musical signature associated with a character, an idea, a situation, or some or all of those things together. And for the first Spiderverse movie, Daniel Pemberton made excellent use of at least two big ones.
To see what I mean, check out this video. If you haven't already. It highlights how music helped tell the story of Into The Spiderverse.
While this video exclusively covers the leitmotifs in the soundtrack of ITSV, once you know what they sound like, you can hear their inclusion in ATSV.
For instance, Miles' personal leitmotif (that ties together the themes that makeup Miles-as-a-person's journey) shows up both times he attempts to tell his mother that he's Spider-Man.
But the Spider-Person theme, in particular, is all over the place in ATSV. This is fitting, considering it features so many Spideys. Not only is it front and center in Peter B.'s theme and is hiding out in Gwen's, Pavitr's, and Hobie's themes, it demonstrates how Miles-as-Spider-Man has developed between movies: playing throughout My Name is Miles Morales. It's one of the first things we hear when we see the young hero again.
This is an evolution from before, as for most of the first film, the Spider-Person motif plays incessantly for the other Spiders but sparingly for Miles. Whenever it was used for him, it was to show he'd reached a new station in his learning and growth. It plays for him when he first thwips away from Doc Ock and intertwines with his personal theme during his leap of faith to show that he's finally become Spider-Man.
So to have multiple iterations of the Spider-Person leitmotif jammed into the song that plays when we first see Miles again shows how much he's grown.
However....the other places it plays in the movie can give us clues about the nature of the conflict between Miguel's Spider Society and the newly formed Spider-Band. To illustrate this, I want to talk about three specific moments where it's prominent in the soundtrack.
During Nueva York Train Chase, Miguel busts out of the train like a horror movie monster and calls after the younger Spider: "Who do you think you are? Really!?"
Miles answers: "My name...is Miles Morales. I was bitten by a radioactive spider. I'm pretty sure you know the rest, jerk!" He then proceeds to drop, kick Miguel in the face, and then nail him with a ball of webbing.
This is around 2:05 of Nueva York Train Chase on the official ATSV soundtrack by Daniel Pemberton. What do we hear after Miles declares this and then (temporarily) eludes 2099?
The Spider-Person leitmotif.
It's not much later that we hear it again. When? At about 2:25 in the track The Go Home Machine. When Margo Kess, Spider-Byte, decides not to interfere with the titular machine and keep Miles in Nueva York.
This moment is critical. Miguel is trying to stop Miles. Even if the machine doesn't take him home, it gets Miles out of the older Spider's clutches and gives him a chance. And when he gets away, what plays? The Spider-Person leitmotif. The music tells us that at this moment, in trying to escape and save his father and not halting his escape, Miles and Margo are acting like Spider-People.
The music is on Miles' side. The music tells us that Miles is acting like Spider-Man by resisting the Spider-Society. He's doing the right thing.
And on top of that, what do we hear after 2:35 of Start a Band? The moment where Peter B. looks outside and sees Gwen waiting for him? The Spider-Person leitmotif. It tells us that in taking Hobie's watch and gathering her band together, Gwen's acting like Spider-Woman.
It then plays over and over again until the credits role. The music is telling us that the Spider-Band's mission marks them as Spider-People. They are living up to the title. They are doing the right thing.
I don't think the music is the only thing in the movie that points the audience to that conclusion. There's also a lot of subtext, meta, and suspiciously little information about how Canon Events and the multiverse generally work. But this is one of the simplest ways the movie tells us that Miles and the Spider-Band are in the right.

Imagine if MK hadn't even realized who he was talking to and just thought the ghost monkey was just, well, a regular old spirit. This is his first time doing this sort of thing on FFM, so he wouldn't know it was normal to see monkey ghosts running around with Gold Vision. Then Wukong drops the biggest bomb that, apparently, this nerdy dork of a monkey is the Monkey King's father?? That Guanyin had done him a solid and asked to temporarily allow her sould to return to her past life as Wukong's mother so he might have the chance to meet his parents? Overall MK is gonna freak out, be was probably there when they discovered Luzhen's egg snd learned to truth about Wukong's origins, he probably had to help Wukong out of there when he collapsed from the shock of that realization (something Sandh is definitely helping Wukong to work through because this is BIG)
referencing.
Yesss. MK learns quickly upon gaining Gold Vision, that it can be used to see the spirits of the departed. He learns this on accident when he accidentally assists ghosts in around Megapolis one day.
Part of the reason MK really wanted to join in on Qingming on FFM was because he knows thats a day where the dead walk amongst the living. And if he can pass on some messages from the past to the present monkeys then he'd be delighted.
Yē Lín (椰林/coconut grove) is a super-nerdy brown-furred monkey spirit that reminds MK of a shorter Mr Tang. They run into each other at the fringes of the banquet, the ghost trying his best to attack the bowls of peaches. He's super excited to meet MK and talks at length about how much the island has changed and how well Wukong has grown into his role as the island's leader.
MK is in turn; super excited to meet a monkey from before the Monkey King was hatched! Yē Lín rambles for seemingly hours about what life was like before the Great Flood (something MK has heard but not investigated much of), and of his dearest "stone flower" mate who leaded their troop up until their passings. MK meets the golden-furred woman very briefly, as she's busy strolling around the party, seemingly drinking in the warmth of the fires. She seems fixated on the elder monkeys like the Stalwarts, commenting on how much they've grown since their cubs days.
MK, nervous but curious at why the spirit and his mate appear so young, ask Yē Lín how he passed on.
Yē Lín: "Well see, after the Flood I thought I lost my mate. I got stuck in a cavern beneath the mountain and figured it was the end. So I wrote and drew everything I've ever known on the walls and started the process." MK: "Process?" Yē Lín: "To make my Egg. I hope it isn't lost knowledge by now." MK, realising: "Wait. Are you a stone monkey!?" Yē Lín, smiling in a familiar cheeky manner: "Guilty as charged!" MK: "Then... wait. Is your egg still in the mountain!?" Yē Lín, nods: "Yup. I haven't really moved on yet cus I want to make sure the little fella is found." MK: "I got to tell Monkey King about this! Come with!" Yē Lín, excited: "Sure thing! Maybe we can find my stone flower's egg baby as well!" MK: "She made a Stone Egg too?!" Yē Lín: "Yes, but he hatched centuries ago. He's the mirror image of her- oh there's my wife! I think she's found him!" *runs ahead through the crowd of dancers* MK: *briefly loses sight of the monkey ghost due to the little monkeys playfully clinging to his legs* "Wait up!" Yē Lín: "My love! Have you've seen him yet? He looks just like you! I just saw the little ones! Looks like his heir got cursed with my looks!" MK, catching up: "Monkey King! Have you met these guys yet? They're so cool and they know everything about you and the island!" MK: *realises that Sun Wukong is talking with the same tall near-indentical-looking female monkey spirit* ( 0_0) "wait"
The female monkey spirit turns and smiles with deep warmth.
Like that of a mother.
MK's heart stoppers in his chest.
MK: "The Monkey King's mother."
The Monkie Kid is statue still for the next few moments as he realises just who he's been talking to for the last few hours! He blurts out his discovery without fear of the potential consequences.
MK: "MONKEY KING YOU HAVE A DAD AND A BROTHER!" Wukong, still recovering from meeting his mom: "I have a what!?"
The last remaing hours of Qingming are spent following Yē Lín ("The Monkey King's Dad" MK can't stop thinking) to the cavern where he laid to rest. Those at the party who overheard their prince's shout (especially the King's own shadowy mate) following close behind.
When MK split the mountain open fighting Azure Lion, he accidentally uncovered the very same water-logged cavern which held the Consort's body. Inside the broken-wound-like cave in the mountain's base, finally open after so many centuries, lay the petrified vague form of a Stone Monkey, sitting in a lotus position.
Yē Lín: "I left some naming suggestions on the wall. I think Walks Reality is very appropriate given the circumstances."
The stone body immediately starts shaking with divine energy. The belly cracking open as a Stone Egg is finally found by it's Troop.
A pair of bright blue eyes peak out of the Egg's lazurite shell as it realises it's finally time to wake up.
The spirits of the Matriarch and her Consort aww at how much the newborn monkey resembles it's brother.
Sun Wukong faints.

I think I might be technically evil for sending you three requests in one day when you’re probably overloaded with everyone else’s too… but if I may be evil for a moment… could you do something where shy!reader has a sleepover with Jonathan or something and she does her nightly routine and she does it for him too?? Like I want to tie his hair up in a lil ponytail and sweep the baby ones back with a fluffy headband and do a little skincare routine on him <3 I’m giving you so so so many kisses my love <3
technically a gorgeous sunbeam whom I adore maybe <3 shy!fem!reader teaching Jonathan the steps to her skincare routine ♥︎
If you were to describe Jonathan in one word, it would be calm. The kind of calm he's worked hard for. When his home can be anything but and his past rife with noise, Jon has carved a little slice of quiet sanctuary. You love sharing it with him.
The closer you've grown, the less you worry about disrupting said sanctuary. The first few times you'd slept over you followed his motions, washing your face with his minty bar soap, changing when he changed, watching movies until you fell asleep on his shoulder.
But a girl can't live like that every weekend. It's bad for your skin, no matter how much you like him.
So you'd introduced small parts of your routine on a trial basis. Jonathan, eternal sweetheart, loverboy extraordinaire, hadn't minded one bit. In fact, he'd been curious.
He stands in the doorway of the bathroom with a charmed smile on his face. You blink through suds and catch his stare, surprised he's put down his book.
"What are you doing?" he asks.
"Just face soap," you say, turning on the faucet again to cup a handful of water and wash away the last of the suds. You dry your eyes quickly with a small face towel. "Sorry, was I being super loud?"
"No," he says, hand on his elbow.
"Oh," you say, and you're timid yourself, so you know the look on his face rather well. "What do you want, baby?"
Jonathan sits down on the wooden box by the door that serves as their laundry basket. He's had his hair cut recently, and the shorter strands against his forehead beg for some handling. You nibble your lip, wondering if it's worth the embarrassment. Jonathan has had you more vulnerable than this, what's the worst that could happen?
You raise your hand to his hair, stroking it gently from his head to see his eyebrows clearly.
"I could do it with you?" he asks. "Your routine."
"My routine? It's not so complicated, Jon, just moisturiser and…" You cross your arms behind your back. "You want to do it with me?"
"Yeah. Is that weird?"
"No," you say. It's so, so sweet. "Not weird."
You take your headband off and slip it over his head. His eyes close in total trust, and you try to deserve it, using your gentlest touch. Once it's around his neck you pull it back up, easing his short hair away from his face.
"I forgot what your forehead looked like," you say.
He gazes up at you adoringly.
You slide the hair tie from your wrist and tilt your head in question. He smiles like he's somewhere else, and that'll have to do. He gets distracted sometimes, and you don't know if it's the truth but whenever you ask what he's thinking about he always says, "You." Best to not ask, and avoid the hot flush.
You rake your fingers through his hair to get the longer pieces beside his neck and make the world's smallest pony tail at the nape.
"Pretty," you say gently. You flick his ponytail. "If you wash your face, we'll do the rest together."
Jonathan stands up and skirts around you to the sink, his fingers touching the tiniest slice of your exposed midriff for a millisecond more than what could be accidental. You know he didn't do it to make you self-conscious, but you pull your pyjamas a little higher up your hips.
He goes to use his soap. You hand him yours before he can start, and he makes quick work of washing his face. You splash your face to make it tacky again and open your palm, dipping it toward him so he does the same.
"Toner. I think I'm supposed to use a cotton round, but I just put it in my palm."
"It's purple," he says, startled.
"The bottle," you say with a delighted laugh. "It's clear, swears. I think it's mostly water and aloe vera. It made my nose pores smaller."
"Did it?" he asks.
You shrink. "It didn't?"
"No, I mean. I never noticed them changing size." He laughs and shakes his hand. You tip a small well of toner into his hand and he waits for you to do the same for yourself, copying your hand movements exactly.
"It's sticky." He wipes his hand in your bare arm.
"Thanks, jerk. Just wash it off!"
He tries to hide his smile and fails.
You pick up your smaller tube. "Moisturiser," you say.
He knows how to use it, so you don't bother explaining why you put it all over until he asks, "I get all greasy on my nose, do I…?"
"I'm not sure. I think, uh." You realise you're going to have to talk about something he doesn't know, and you never enjoy that. Correcting people feels like a nightmare — you're always worried they'll get annoyed or defensive, or that you'll come off as a know it all. But Jonathan doesn't do that, so you explain. "When you wash your face, you take all the oils off of your skin, and your skin reacts by making more of it. Sometimes it makes too much, and you end up greasy. If you moisturise it can help give some of the oil back and your skin doesn't feel the need to make too much." You pat a white smear across his cheek. "At least, that's what I think. I could be wrong."
"Sometimes I use some of that serum your mom got me, but I skipped it today because I ran out. Sorry, Jon, it's much shorter than I thought it was now we're doing it."
"I bet you're right," he says. His smile is gooey smooth. The entire time you'd been talking, he'd looked entranced. "What's next?"
"I don't mind. Five minutes doing something with you is better than without." He peels your headband off like he hasn't just said something insanely lovely. "How do I look?" he asks, his dampened baby hairs a wild curling mess around his face.
You tuck your arm into his. "You look perfect."

content warning for: gunplay and dubcon/noncon
no pronouns mentioned, no parts mentioned
it's tragic how easily manipulated leon was. too trusting, too naive, too.... easy.
the barrel of your gun pressed to the back of his head, and you spend a brief moment acknowledging how beautiful his hair is. soft, delicate, just like him. that's not to say he's overly fragile and can't take care of himself, but he's soft around the edges. years of experience and trauma has not hardened him yet.
he exhales, conscious of what is happening. he's not panicking, or at least trying not to. ever the contentious police rookie, he tries to deescalate, "you don't have to do anything rash... we can talk this over. i'm sure we can find a solution."
"are you?" you ask simply, wondering if he'll lay out all his cards for you. his head turns slightly, looking to the side of the room you were both in. it was supposed to be a safe room. he doesn't feel very safe.
"no, actually," he's biting his lip, you can tell. that's just how well you know him, "i guess it's hard to think of one when i don't know what the problem is. why you're threatening me... to be specific, i guess."
his voice bleeds with a sass you've come to love. he would be so much more boring if he pure good, pure kindness, pure niceness. or maybe your presence has tainted him without his knowledge, even before the betrayal.
betrayal. what an ugly word. this wasn't that, despite the shaking of leon's delicate hands has to say otherwise. you weren't betraying him.
okay. maybe you were betraying him.
"why i'm doing it isn't important," you smirk, and he thinks he knows you're lying, that there is a reason that you don't want to say, "who knows? if you listen to me, you might even make it out alive."
he's silent for a second, but when you touch the barrel to his head, and he remembers how powerless he is, he sighs, "what do you want from me?"
you smirk, satisfied by his obedience. he's smarter than you gave him credit for, "good. good boy."
he feels himself growing hostile. don't call me that. like its a curse, two bad words that will suck him in and contort him into whatever you want him to be.
he'll admit that he's grown to have feelings for you, well, before this happened. he's imagined asking you out to dinner after you both escape from this hellhole. he imagines a life with you that is falling apart by the second.
but this isn't okay. you aren't okay.
he bites his tongue to prevent himself from making a comment that will get him hurt, but then you drag the gun down his spine, starting from his neck, moving down to his hips. he trembles from a fear he's never understood before. he's frozen.
"please," he whispers hoarsely, "if you were going to kill me, you'd have done it by now."
"you don't know that, maybe i just like playing with my food first," you say back, tilting your head to get the smallest glimpse at his face. you see his eyelashes flutter as he closes his eyes, and you're tempted to turn him around, but you know the second you decide to look into his beautiful, delicate eyes, you'd need to consume every last piece of him until nothing was left to exist.
there's a mission here. somewhere. some end goal the higher ups gave to you to achieve. you're not quite sure where 'fuck the enemy' fits into the list of priorities, but he's right here, and you have plenty of time to waste. might as well waste it on him.
leon feels patronized. objectified. dehumanized. i'm not your fucking food.
"why won't you tell me what you want me to do?" he asks.
"hm?"
he scoffs, and you have half the mind to shoot him now for his fucking attitude, "you told me to do what i'm told and i'll survive. what do you want from me?"
"you sure you want to know? you don't want to enjoy these last few moments of blissful ignorance?" you ask, but when he goes silent, and you audibly hear him gulp, there's no more waiting. you need to take him. now, "your loss, leon."
his name has never felt so offensive, much less did he ever think it'd be a hostile remark coming from you.
"turn around, and get on your knees," you growl in his ear from behind him, and his body shivers fully, before he complies. as he gets on his knees, he looks up at you, finally making eye contact the first time during this whole exchange.
there's an unplaceable kind of determination inside them, something that is screaming at you i will make it out alive, and you'll pay for what you're doing. it makes you want to laugh.
you see fear inside them too. though he's trying his best to hide it, you see it rearing its ugly head in the cracks of his facade.
your gun aimed at his face is no less horrifying than it is at the back of his head. maybe its even scarier now because he can see it. he knows it's real. it's not just a feeling he's had to endure, but a real object that can blast his brains all over the yellow walls. he'd like it if that didn't happen.
"you're so fucking pretty," you groan, visibly excited by his fear, which only terrifies him further, "you're... shaking? please, leon, it's like you're trying to turn me on."
he only now realizes what's happening. he thought you were just going to threaten him into giving you something you needed for a mission or a purpose. he supposes the last thing he expected was for you to be getting off on this.
"please," he says, trying his best to play the part, to say the right words, to be exactly what you want from him, "why are you-"
"c'mon, sweetheart, won't you give it a kiss?" you say, nodding your head towards the handgun.
leon gulps, dryly swallowing his spit, "what... what the fuck, why would i-?"
suddenly there's a blaring, ringing sound in his ears. it's loud, it's violent, it pierces the painful tension in the air. his eyes shut tightly, as he falls back, landing a few feet away from you. the terror on his face skyrockets.
obviously, the gunshot did not hit him. though it takes him a second to realize that he's, unfortunately, not dead.
"what the fuck?!" he cries out, horrified, "why the hell did you do that?"
"to prove to you that my gun is loaded. this isn't just a prop. not listening to me has real consequences," you snarl at him, "now, i'll play nice if you do. kiss it."
he blinks a couple times. half disgusted. maybe a quarter turned on.
still, he gets back up onto his knees, looking at the gun pointed down at him. he can't bear to make eye contact, but he hesitantly leans in closer to it. he presses his lip to the side of it, too nervous to touch them to the hot barrel. the gun is still hot, of course, but he still does as you ask.
he looks up at you, his stomach dropping at the look on your face. he's disgusted at how much you enjoy this. he's disgusted at how much he enjoys this.
"good boy," your voice, sweet like a thick honey that's stuck in his throat, choking him. you'd probably like that too. he tries to not imagine you choking him, smirking evilly at his suffering.
here we go again. those two words do not sit well in his stomach. he feels ill with every sweet praise, disgusted by your gentleness because he knows it's fake.
"are you seriously enjoying this?" he asks meekly. he meant to sound more confident, more collected, but his voice doesn't carry either.
"well, i could have just taken what i needed from you and killed you. it would have been easier, so... what do you think?"
he cringes, unable to make sense of how someone so evil could have fooled him this whole time. not only were you never on his side, but you were more than a bad guy. you were sadistic.
you press your gun against his jaw, digging the hot metal into his skin, "so how about you put that pretty mouth to good use? tell me, leon: you think you work better under pressure?"

_This might not be popular, but I really think that something shifted in their dynamics in late S5 (and I genuinely believe it was also always partially missing) and I think the break-up really helped to dig into this problem._
Please could you write more about this? What do you think has changed between them? When did this start and why?
Hello Nonnie!
So... Yeah. It's quite a hard topic for me, because I really don't like being the one to stand out in a cheering and positive crowd that this fandom has been. But, I will do my best to explain what I mean, too.
Disclaimer is that I binged The Rookie until 6x04 and I really believe that when you binge things you might miss the details, that with this pairing has always been important. In short: disclaimer is that I might be wrong.
I also need to say that my views come from a place of being an anxious person that has often been dismissed regarding her feelings and even belittled.
With all that in mind, let me try to explain my mindset a bit. Some of the parts I have already explained in this post. So if you've read it it might be kind of repetitive.
While I've loved Chenford since 3x12 and Green Dress, I've always found it disturbing how Tim approaches Lucy in her low moments. It's not that he approaches it bad. I just honestly think that his approach has always been quite bantery (17st place) and definitely more action than words style. There is nothing bad with that, I just don't truly believe this is good for anxious Lucy. I really think that Jackson was always the best kind support for her. I think the core thing for me was that Jackson always acknowledged her feelings and tried to be supportive, before providing solution. For me the part of "acknowledging her feelings" is the part that I haven't seen that much in Tim.
I think I noticed it hard in the documentary 5x18, when it almost felt like Lucy was in denial about being so optimistic about their relationship, while Tim was grumpy and protective over himself and his image. I think this is where I saw this shift (not sure if it was also the shift in the characters), that maybe Tim might have some serious doubts about their relationship.
For me, this is this surface level relationship problem that dr London called him out for. It is that he does not know how to be together, how to be deep in a relationship. He tried that once and look where it got him (it was not his fault by any means).
For me, it carried in the late S5 and early S6 so much so that it led to their break-up. That Tim chose to put up some walls instead of finding resolution. And, again, it's not that I blame him for that. Hell, with kind of childhood and past that he has it is incredibly in character. But he is also a grown up man that needs to take responsibility of his life and people around him. That's why 6x10 made me so excited: the dynamics are a-changing. He is starting to tear down his walls brick by brick and learn what does being together actually means.
Because I feel that as anxious as Lucy sometimes the "being together" is what she understands at her core. Hence the hug, the jump and all the big things she's been doing for him (after the break-up and before too, of course). Of course, she is not crystal (Nyla is, lol! sorry for the dad joke). She jumped on this train very quick and very enthusiastically and they never really had a real convo about their feelings.
I think it really blew up with Ray, when Tim just ghosted Lucy and kept her in the dark for so many hours. It's not a good communication, let's say straight forward it is just a really encyclopedic example of bad communication. He gets wrapped up in his own world and cannot quite wrap his mind about what Lucy needs. I hope that will get changed, because, well Tim was not a good partner then.
Just to sum this all up. I've already started to see some progress with Tim's character and I really really hope they keep on showing this in S7. This is my biggest hope for S7, actually.
I really, really hoped I answered your question. Y'all! Tell me if I'm wrong, please!!!

Byler Fics List: the Grown-ups
I adore Stranger Things adult characters, here are some fics where they play an important part:
Until you wake up by Roxhylee Will is in a coma and Mike visits him every day. This one has some of the most thoughtful Ted-and-Mike chapters and an interesting take on Ted <3
Wedding at the End of the World (What do We Have to Lose?) by Julia_Skysong "Hang on, hang on," Jonathan interrupted, frowning slightly. "Let me do the math here. You've only been a…thing, for like a few days? And you want to get married?" "Dude, you're gonna get a new step-dad! Argyle cheered, trying to high five him. "Please for the love of GOD let me officiate this," Murray cackled. OR Joyce and Hopper decide to have a spontaneous wedding at the end of the world and help their kids figure out love and life.
Bananas and Closure by @tired-bisexual-brainrot Hopper runs into Diane while at the store. He invites her over for dinner, and she finds out that he now has a whole family with three kids and a wife.
No Cure for Queer by AlabasterInk (@alabasterswriting) Will Byers had about thirty minutes between realizing that the butterflies in his stomach came from appreciating Mike’s smile a little too much, to walking into his house and hearing Hopper say, “…wrong, Joyce. A guy with another guy. We used to arrest queers, you know…” And it all went downhill from there.
california show your teeth by @fireflywitch Fourteen months after a rash of unexplained disappearances tore an Indiana town apart, a new chief of police and his very normal, nothing-to-see-here family moves to Hawkins from Lenora Hills, California. "I wondered what it would be like if the Byers, El, and Hopper had grown up in Lenora Hills instead of Hawkins and moved to Indiana later on - how things would be different and what things would stay the same and which characters might be better off or worse off…" for Claudia and the Moms <3
You May Be the One Place I'm Sure About by elsie (the_technorats) the one where Joyce Byers and Jim Hopper finally have a moment to themselves. no byler here but you should read it all the same ;)
mom, i'm gay. wait, you are too? by dragons_like_smores @howtobecomeadragon “What if there are no men out there for me, Michael?” Mike, not focused at all on his mom, said absentmindedly, “Then maybe you can just date a woman.” Or: Mike unintentionally starts Karen's lesbian awakening while he simps for his boyfriend, Will, all summer long.
poor old jim's white as a ghost by AttaboyLuther Even when he started on the force back in 1980… Jim Hopper knew there was something special between William Byers and that brat Mike Wheeler. (AKA: Mike and Will fall in love, told through the perspective of one Chief Hopper)
and if you wanna cry or fall apart (i'll be there to hold you) by Strangerangels Mike Wheeler and his relationship with Will Byers, as told by Joyce Byers. Inspired by that scene in S2 where Mike holds Joyce and leads her into the car. Y'know, the one where Bob dies. You just know Mike is going to be the best in-law Joyce will ever have.
The Darkest Eyes by @light-lanterne a semi canon-compliant character study of mike wheeler, his unaddressed trauma and his relationship with will byers, told through the eyes of a very tired jim hopper who can’t help but to become attached to the boy who keeps dating his children.
The Right Thing by Nymphadoragreenleaf The second pregnancy was a mistake. They were basically at breaking point with only Jonathan and Lonnie didn’t want to have to work even more when he had already fulfilled his side of the bargain. He married her and they had a kid. What more did they expect from him (or Lonnie pov)
Benny's also by Nymphadoragreenleaf Officer Powell grimaces “The trespasser… he’s- chief it’s your misses youngest- the one who went missing a few years back.” (or Hopper pov)
some more Hopper: it's me, hi (everybody agrees) by @livsindelusion or 5 Times Mike Gets The Shovel Talk and 1 Time It's Will
and some Joyce! can't hold out forever by scorchstorm five times that others noticed how mike felt + the one time that will did.
Have fun reading :)

One evening, just as they were going to get ready for bed, Kit received a text message:
"Bro, I'm almost at your house. Don't want to ring a bell or knock as it might wake up Aska."
It was a message from Zinnia. Kit frowned. Why would Zinnia be in Strangerville? She was about to move to Sulani. Was this some kind of trick by a Landgraab cronie? He gave Penny a kiss. "I'm going to check something out, Pen. If I'm not back in 15 minutes, call Dylan and Jess." Penny nodded, giving him a worried look and a squeeze in his hand. "Be safe, Kit," she whispered.
Kit went out the front door and almost bumped into Zinnia, who had just reached the top of the stairs.
Kit (gasping): "Zin, you're really here?" Zinna (smiling): "Surprise!" Kit (quickly scanning the street, nothing suspicious): "Plumbobs! How? Why? I didn't... How?" Zinnia: "I'll tell you after you've given me a hug, dear brother." Kit (overwhelmed): "Of course. I missed you so much, Zin!"
The twins shared a long tight hug, fighting tears of happiness. It had been an eternity of being apart, never in their life had they been so far away from each other. To be able to hug each other now, was the greatest blessing.
"Come in, Penny will be so happy to see you!" Kit beckoned her to follow him into the house. Penny, phone in a trembling hand, ready to call the Sigworths if Kit didn't come back in time, almost dropped her phone when she saw Zinnia come in after Kit. "Zinnia? For real?"
Just when Penny rushed over to take Zinnia in a hug, Aska started crying in the bedroom. Kit and Penny's gaze met. "You hug, I check," Kit nodded, giving Penny a wink. He had this. Penny winked back at him and then proceeded to hug Zinnia.
"Wow, Zinnia, you look so good," Penny sighed when they ended the hug. "How was your birthday? Why aren't you on your way to Sulani yet?" Zinnia gave her a conspiring look. "Oh, but I am on my way to Sulani. I just missed my flight." Penny squinted her eyes a bit, tilting her head slightly. "But isn't Momo going to be worried?"
Zinnia reassured Penny immediately: while her parents and the boys didn't know about her plan to take a detour via Strangerville, Momo and Piper were in the know that Zinnia would arrive with another flight, 2 days later. They would keep the Dreamers back home thinking Zinnia had arrived just fine, but was just very tired from traveling, until Zinnia was actually in Sulani.
"I just had to come and see you three, Pene... Penny, sorry, still getting used to that. I've been careful and there really isn't an earlier flight after the one I had originally booked. I booked a room in a hotel not far from the airport, so they'll think I'm just killing time there. I want to see Aska so badly. Can I see her?" Penny immediately took Zinnia by the hand and led her to the bedroom, where Kit was in the process of comforting Aska.
"She's so tiny," Zinnia gasped. "She's precious," Kit smiled, his gaze locked with his daughter's. Aska had just stopped crying and gave her father a faint smile. "She's already grown quite a bit," Penny declared with pride, "she's doing really well."
Zinnia gave Penny a few taps on her back. "You two did really well. She's gorgeous. I love her." Kit looked at Zinnia. "She started crying when you came into the house and stopped crying when you came into the room. I think she wanted to meet her auntie."
"Right, I'm an auntie now," Zinnia smiled, "so weird."

you left your mark on this heart | 6k
(OR: buck is medically diagnosed with butterflies, it takes a medical professional for him to see the pattern right under his nose)
Buck isn't the same twenty-eight-year-old kid who pushes beyond all his boundaries and ignores an ache in his leg mindless of consequences until said consequences are coughed up with blood in front of his family and friends. He's grown, he's lived, he's died, and he's no longer defining himself by his job as the be-all and end-all. He's thirty-one, and his back aches after sleeping on Eddie's couch for a night, and he's maybe slightly terrified of returning to work after a bolt of lightning went through him like a carving fork through meat. So, he's almost relieved when he notices the oddity in his heartbeat.
The first time he notices it is when he escapes the endless rota of visitors at his loft for the warm embrace of the Diaz house. It's hard to focus on it when Eddie smiles at him like he's been waiting for this to happen since Buck left the hospital and yet still it's the smile of a man discovering he's won the lottery. It's hard to focus on it when Eddie calls him sir and looks at him like he's trying to see through Buck's chest to make sure his heart is still beating away—looks like he's trying to decide if it would be too much to ask to take care of Buck's heart for him, to tuck it right next to his own in his chest and promise to keep it going for as long as his. It's hard to focus on it when Eddie is unpicking all of his most carefully stitched wounds and laying his insides at Buck's feet just because he asked.
So, he forgets about it until Dr Salazar tells him he can go back to work.
"Unless there's anything else I should know," she says with a raised eyebrow when his silence lasts a little too long.
"I don't think it's anything, but..." Buck chews on his lips for a moment before rubbing an absent hand over his sternum. "Recently, I've been getting these... Flutters?"
It's a stupid word, makes him feel like a teenager discovering butterflies when their crush's hand brushes against theirs, but it's the only way he can describe the sensation. His heart doesn't race, it doesn't skip a beat or palpitate or clench—that's why it had been so easy to forget. It just... flutters. Two beats for the price of one before it falls back into it's normal rhythm as quickly as it had fallen out of it.
"Flutters," Dr Salazar repeats not unkindly. Buck nods, a light flush of embarrassment crawling across the bridge of his nose.
"I know how it sound and I really don't think it's anything to worry about, I just..."
"Better safe than sorry," she replies, examining something on her screen. "We've done so many tests, Buck. There's not a single anomaly in your heartbeat. You have one of the healthiest hearts I've ever seen considering that you just got struck by lightning." She shrugs slightly. "So, I think you're probably right about it being nothing. But I want you to grab a notebook from the store on your way home and just start jotting down whenever it happens. Date, rough time, where you are, what you're doing, anything that might be relevant. I'll schedule a follow-up appointment for a week from now, and we'll look at your findings together. Does that sound okay?"
"Yeah, that's good actually." Buck takes a deep breath, rubbing his palms on his jeans. "Can I still go back to work or..."
"I don't see why not." She smiles at him gently, understanding. "But if you want to wait, that's more than okay. Always good to be cautious after something like this. And I'm grateful that you've told me about this, I know you might not have a few years ago." Buck knows that it's part of her job to read his medical history, to find out about blood clots and pulmonary embolisms, but it still makes him uneasy all the same, being known like this, for his worst moments. "If the flutters get worse, start feeling more dangerous than just flutters, do not hesitate to call me or check yourself into urgent care. And I know you're surrounded by people with extensive medical knowledge, so I recommend telling at least one of them. Especially a colleague if you are going back to work. Just so there's someone to look out for you in case it does get worse."
"Okay." Buck sighs, nods to himself. "Thanks, doc. See you in a week."
"See you in a week, Buck." Dr Salazar walks him to the door, grabbing a lollipop from the jar by the exit just before he goes. "For telling me." She winks as she presses it into his hand, and Buck snorts as he tears the plastic away and pops it into his mouth.

I've got a gew questions hihi
What was Sun and Moon's first impression when they saw the reader with the rest of the counselors group?
Could you tell us a bit as to how their view and how they felt about the reader fluctuated until the latest chapters?
Do you have anything in mind regarding how you'd like their relationship (not necessarily romantic) to turn out as the story progresses?
And last but not least, how are you enjoying the direction of the story so far?
Thanks for your time! Rest well and have a great weekend 💛
could you please give us crumbs for the next chapter please please I'm hungry I need more
What was Sun and Moon's first impression when they saw the reader with the rest of the counselors group?
Surprise. Fear. Then frustration. y/n being there threw a massive wrench in their plans, and the two had a small squabble over what should be done with you, with Sun insisting that there was still time to try and convince you to leave, and Moon reminding him that it was too much of a risk. If you left, the rest of them might follow, and then the last ten years of planning would go down the drain. For better or for worse, you were one of them now. That meant you would die like them, too.
Could you tell us a bit as to how their view and how they felt about the reader fluctuated until the latest chapters?
From the very beginning of the fic, Sun decided that if you had to die, he would make sure your last three days were worthwhile. In what can only be described as giving the dog chocolate before putting it down, he put in the work to make sure you felt special.
Inevitably, he grew attached. A bad habit that Moon had directly warned him to avoid. His befriending of you became a very real, very genuine thing, and he grappled with the idea of having to put the blade to your throat to the point where now, in the present of the story, he has disillusioned himself into believing that if he can just convince you about his side of things, he might just be allowed to let you live. He doesn't even strictly want you to help, it would be enough just to turn a blind eye. It would be enough just to tell him you understood.
The illusion will shatter all too soon, and he'll realize with a bittersweet note of finality that it's too late for explanations, it's too late to plead his case. You've made up your mind. You prove that more and more with every counselor that is saved by your hand.
You will be the one casualty he can't enjoy.
Do you have anything in mind regarding how you'd like their relationship (not necessarily romantic) to turn out as the story progresses?
I have to keep my own personal feelings at bay since the final outcome is in the reader's hands, though I do hold favoritism towards a specific ending — and we are very, very close to the decision that locks the route in.
That being said, we have already passed the decisions which herald in the Bad End, so I'm not too concerned with where we go from here. I'll be content with the results regardless because I know that the only endings remaining are ones I will enjoy :) (I had to tiptoe so much with the phrasing here so as to not spoil anything, lmao)
And last but not least, how are you enjoying the direction of the story so far?
The direction definitely came as a surprise! I was really expecting readers to be either indifferent or outright hateful of the counselors, and while I did my best to ensure they weren't too easy to love or hate, it still caught me off guard how quickly (and in such great numbers) readers decided to save the counselors. Y'all really looked at an impossibly bleak slasher scenario and decided this was going to be an Everyone Lives playthrough right from the start lmao.
I'll be the first to admit that initially I was a little disappointed in how few deaths have actually occurred, if only because writing Chet's death was so much fun for me! But I've grown to really love putting these characters through the ringer only to see them make it out safe in the end. There's just something so cathartic about hope finding a way even as they trudge through hell.
Now it's just up to y'all to keep the rest of them alive, and it's only going to get harder from here on out 😌
Here is your crumb!
