i think one reason i don't gel with the polyam culture that i've experienced thus far is that while i am nonmonagmous, i am intensely committal

i don't really enjoy casual romantic relationships, and probably am not capable of casual sexual relationships, from an emotional standpoint

obv not all polyam people do exclusively casual dating, but a lot of people i've met do, both online and offline, and i've always struggled to relate to that kind of dating, where monogamous or nonmonogamous

like, when my husband and I first started dating (we were monogamous then,) I said if we are dating for a year, we would be together forever. and I've found that still applies now that we're poly. on the 365th day of the relationship, i shall perform the blood ritual and our souls will be bonded for eternity
