Well, you didn't even have to eat a bite and you already ran to the toilet because you had to throw up. Choso wouldn't be scared of the situation, he would be there by your side stroking your back and holding your hair back. He would calm you down with kind words. "You're good my love, don't worry I'm here for you. I love you." After you were done, he helped you clean up.

Summary: You found out about the Cullens. Edward viewed you as a threat until you met Jared.

As you're walking to where Edward told you to meet him, you are thinking about everything that has happened the past year.

You moved to Forks. Met the Cullens.

Curiosity got the best of you when you noticed some odd things about them. Now, you know they're vampires.

You stand in the ally, glaring at Edward, who stands at the other end. He's glaring right back at you.

It's dark and cold outside. But it can't be as cold as Edward's skin.

"You've seen too much." He says.

"You don't eat humans, remember?" You remind him.

"I can still kill you." He growls.

You know you can't win. He will snap you out of existence. He can read your thoughts at all times. He knows you're scared. He knows your intentions. You don't plan on saying anything. Anything to keep your life right? It just so happened to be your nosey ass that was just so skeptical of Renesmee's existence. It was so easy to question her being! The way she speaks, acts, looks, but especially the way the girl SPAWNED? Girl grew fully within two years!

"Edward." Rosalie grabs his shoulder from behind. "Carlisle said to let her go." She hisses. She looks up at you and smiles, "she doesn't know everything anyway."

Without warning, Edward shoves Rosalie and charges after you. Your head hits the concrete. He's now on top of you, holding you down. Your whole body is hurting.

"Edward!" Rosalie yells.

He wraps his hands around your throat and starts choking you. You can't breathe. Your eyes are watering. Everything in your head and chest is stinging.

You hear growling behind you, so you pull your chin up to look behind you. A large wolf. You make eye contact with it before it pulls Edward off of you, and you can breathe. But it's too late. You pass out.

Your eyes open to the sound of talking. There's different voices that you hear, and they aren't familiar. Your vision is hazy at first, but after blinking a bit, it goes away. You see, you're on a couch. You sit up and turn back to see a group of shirtless guys and a couple girls.

"She's awake." One girl says.

Everyone turns to you. A woman with scars on her face and another young man walk over to you. You feel super uncomfortable.

"Hey, sweetie. You okay?" The woman asks, bending down next to you.

You nod your head and look up at the guy standing. When you reach his eyes, they're familiar. Like you've seen then before.

"Yeah, I'm okay." You finally say and look away from him. "What happened?" You asked.

The woman looks up at the guy. "He'll tell you. I'm Emily." She looks back at you, smiling and then walking away. "OUT! Everyone. Outside." Emily orders everyone to leave so it's just you and this guy.

He reaches his hand out. You hesitate before taking it. He lifts you off the couch, grabbing your elbows to steady you. "Easy.." He whispers.

You look up at his brown eyes and gush at his face. His lips and dimples are about to make your go insane. But now you realize you're staring at him. He doesn't seem to mind because he's staring at you too.

"You need water." He grabs your hand and leads you to the kitchen. "I'm Jared." He says, grabbing a glass and filling it with water. You sit at the empty table that was preoccupied a few minutes ago.

"I'm y/n. What happened?" You watch him as he places the cup in front of you and sits in the chair across from you.

"Edward Cullen told us what you know." He says awkwardly.

"The Cullens are fishy, and I'm fishing for knowledge." You joke and sip your water.

He laughs and then bites his lip. "Well, wolves are a thing, too. I was the wolf you saw before you blacked out. I believe you remember."

"I do. I saw you. Are you guys bad?" You ask worriedly.

"No! We are not enemies. We protect people." He leans forward and deeply observes you. "I have a duty to protect you." He says quietly.

You smile at him and nod your head. "I appreciate it. You did. I can't thank you enough." You look around the cozy home. "Am I on reservation?"

"Yes. I can take you home." He says.

"Why?" You look at him. "They'll come after me again."

"The Cullens have a treaty with our tribe. They can't hurt you here.. well.. at all." He reaches to grab your wrist. "They know they're in deep shit because you know so much. Renesmee and Jacob..." He sighs, letting go of your wrist.

"Jacob? Her husband?" You ask confused.

"He's a shifter, too. He imprinted on her." He says.

You raise an eyebrow. "Imprint?"

Jared goes on a whole timeline of the histories and what imprinting is. You were so deep into it, drinking your water and staring at his lips move while he talks.

"Because I imprinted on you, nobody can hurt you."

Your eyes widen.

"I figured I could tell you now because you already know..." He sighs.

Edward and Carlisle stand in front of you. Edward puts his hand out for you to shake.

"I'm sorry, y/n." He says.

You look at all of the Cullens standing behind them. They seem sympathetic. You forgive them, but Jacob's bond with Nessie makes things easier for you to.

You look up at Jared, who stands next to you, staring at the Cullens.

You take Edward's hand, and you two shake them. His freezing temperature makes you uncomfortable. Being with Jared the past couple of weeks, you're used to the warmth.

"We're sorry to you, Jared. I hope this incident doesn't affect our relationship with your pack. We still want to maintain peace and allies during conflicts." Carlisle smiles at him.

Jared sucks in a breath, hesitant. He's super protective of you. He's still mad that they hurt you. It's hard for him to get over it.

"Jared.. for our tribe." Sam calls out behind you two.

"I understand you love her. I will never hurt her again. Ever." Edward says.

You know he reads minds. Jared hasn't said "I love you," yet. You caught on fast, and your heart jumped. But Jared is so focused on trying to keep the peace that he doesn't notice.

Finally, he nods his head. "It's forgiven." He says.

"Thank you, everyone, for taking the time for my apology. We won't have to do this again." Edward calls out.

The Cullens slowly, couple by couple, turn around and run through the woods, leaving you, the uley pack, the black pack, and Renesmee.

"Beach?" Embry claps his hands asking, ending the silence.

"Dude, is that what you've been thinking about this whole time?" Quil asks.

Embry shrugs. "Maybe. Emily brought it up earlier, and I want to go." He points at the woman next to Sam.

She laughs at him and shakes her head. "Oops." She looks at everyone.

You and Jared are alone on the towel. You guys watch as everyone plays in the water. You watch as Paul does some goofy ass dance to make Rachel laugh.

"Want to go on date two?" Jared looks down at you.

All you can think about kissing him. Two weeks, and you guys haven't done anything but go on one date. He's with you all of the time, though. He's super clingy and protective. You watch his lips. Your eyes are going back and forth. You don't even notice you're doing this. His lips slowly turn upward, and he watches you as you think. His hand reaches up and touches your cheek. It jumps you out of your trance.

"Yeah, another date sounds awesome. Where do you think-"

Pet au: How would the brothers react to an owner who wants to help them bath?

Lucifer: No. Absolutely not. Lucifer is usually pretty obedient, but seeing him naked is something he won't allow. He hates being without his clothing, hates showing any skin. He knows that he's not in his prime and wouldn't want you to see him naked. He'll even lock the door when he's taking a bath because he doesn't want you walking in.

If you insist, then Lucifer is extremely uncomfortable. His knees are up, and he's crouching to try and hide as much skin as possible. Looking at you with an expression that tells you that he just wants to get this over with. He might even snap at you to hurry up if he thinks you're dragging this out.

You can try to coo and compliment him, but he'll only give you a scowl in return. Do not do this if you want to build trust with him. If you respect his wishes and let him bathe alone, he might ask you for help preening his wings after his bath.

Mammom: flushes a deep red when you suggest that you're going to help him bath. "Wh-why do ya want to do that?! I can bathe myself, ya know!" He insists, but he doesn't put up too much of a fight if you insist.

He's very embarrassed when he realizes that you're going to see him naked and will try to argue that he should bathe in his clothing. "It's a two for one deal! Now ya don't gotta do laundry!" When that doesn't work, he gets into the tub. At first, he'll try and act all cool and like he's unbothered that you're seeing him at his most vulnerable. He'll try and be self-sufficient, scrubbing his own body and trying to insist that he can wash his own hair.

But the warm water relaxes his muscles, and soon, he's only half protesting as you run your fingers through his hair. Mammon can't help but relax into your touch. No matter how closed off your relationship is, Mammon becomes absolutely boneless in your care. Will whine and pout if you try to move away to grab the conditioner. He does not want to leave the tub, even when he's a raisin and the water has gone cold.

When he finally comes back to his senses after the bath, he's extremely embarrassed and will avoid you for a day or two, but after that, he's asking when his next bath is.

Levi: is immediately blushing the second the word "bath" leaves your mouth. He very obviously doesn't want you to see him naked, but is too skittish to actually say anything. Levi already needs help with cleaning his tail, and you two do that when he's fully clothed. He's already absolutely mortified during that, so he doubts that he'll survive you seeing him naked!

When you two get into the bathroom, he will try to stall for as long as possible. Sometimes, he's standing completely still, not even breathing, in the hopes that you'll get bored and leave. When he's finally naked and in the tub, he's curling up into the tightest ball. When you tell him to close his eyes when you rinse, he doesn't open them until the bath is over.

The only way to get him to relax, after many, many stressful baths, is to bring anime into bathtime. You get anime themed bath toys and even play anime on your laptop that's sitting on the bathroom countertop. The anime helps. He can't keep his eyes closed when there's anime to watch. The bath toys make him more active during bathtime, as he quickly starts to explain the plot of the anime the toys are from. Soon, he's playing out scenes and rambling about characters and their arcs. After a few baths, Levi whines when you try to get him out of the bathtub, pleading for just one more episode.

Satan: You kinda have to help him bathe when you first get him because he's never been in a bathroom before. Whenever he got too dirty at the ring, his handlers would hose him down from outside his cage. So, working a shower nozzle? Using soap? All new concepts to him. He finds that he feels embarrassed when you bathe him. He doesn't understand why - he's been naked in front of handlers countless times before.

Getting his clothes off is easy. What Satan struggles with is the concept of sitting down in water. He doesn't understand how this is an effective way to get clean. Aren't you sitting in your own filth? You have to explain to him that most people aren't actually that dirty when they bathe and that the soap cleans all of the dirt. The first time you bathe him, he's actually dirty enough that you gotta refill the bath a few times.

When he gets settled and the bath water stays clear, Satan finds himself relaxing into the warm water. He expected that water to be freezing cold, as the water was only ever freezing when his handlers used the hose, so he wasn't looking forward to having to sit in freezing cold water. So the warm water is definitely a surprise, but an incredibly pleasant one.

He can't help but relax in the tub, even when he's still unsure about his place in his home, and the relationship you two are fostering, the warm water washes alway all concerns. As the water seeps into his bones and softens him, he can't help but lean into your gentle touch as you scrub through his hair and whine a soft trill whenever you smile at him.

Asmo: he's immediately all for it when you bring it up. He's always looking for a way to show you his best assets, and this will be a perfect opportunity! He doesn't understand that you're not looking for that kind of bath, even when you insist, multiple times, that you're not going to sleep with him.

He still doesn't believe you and is extremely confused when you don't get into the bath with him. Well, no matter, he can still show you what he was made to do as you scrub his hair. Maybe he can convince you to join! Maybe this whole thing is a test! Yet when you pay his flirting no mind, when you look away to grab a bar of soap when he flutters his eyes lash at you, Asmo starts to get a little worried.

The bath can either go two ways: Asmo slowly gets more and more stressed as you don't pay attention to him the way he's expecting. Until he's breaking down and begging you to just get it over with and fuck him. Or he settles down and lets himself get pampered, and relishes in all the products he gets to chose from. The trick to get the former instead of the latter is complimenting Asmo. If you make it seem like you still like him, and that you're just trying to get him to look his prettiest (for you, his mind fills in for him) then he has a must better time letting himself relax and enjoy himself. Even if you refuse to get into the bath Asmo will still try to convince you to wear a face mask.

Beel: He actually prefers that you're there. When he was with his previous owners the only way for him to get clean was when one of them washed him down with the hose. He also never had a reason to go inside his own owner's house, so he's never been inside of a bathroom before. So he's quite nervous about accidently breaking something.

When you get him into the bathroom Beel is quite nervous. He feels too large, no matter the size of your bathroom. Your presence calms him down a bit, at least if you're here he can simply stand off to the side and let you turn the shower nozzle. If he touched that on his own he'll probably break it. When he realizes that he's going to have to get naked to get into the bathtub he gets a little bashful. He never had a reason to get naked in front of his previous owners, so he'll ask if you can turn around when he takes off his clothes. It doesn't matter if you're going to see him naked anyway, for some reason him stripping off his clothes while you stand there watching him is just too embarrassing for the gentle giant.

Beel tries to make himself as small as possible in your bathtub. No matter how big it is. It has less to do with you seeing him naked, and move about him accidentally taking up too much space, or getting in your way. When you get him bathing him he actually gets a little exicted, as everything is so new to him. I hope you're using baby shampoo because Beel doesn't understand the concept of closing his eyes when you rinse. When you get into the rhythm of scrubbing his hair, rinsing, and repeat, Beel actually feels himself relaxing. The warm water is relaxing muscles he didn't even know was sore, and your touch is so gentle. He actually forgets about his rumbling stomach for a while as he leans into your touch. 

Belphie: if you two built up a good relationship than he's fine with you bathing you. He'll probably fall asleep the moment he lays down in the warm water. You have to remind him to stay awake, or else he might accidentally drown a bit. It's not his fault! The water is just so warm and soothing, and aren't you his owner? Isn't it your job to make sure he's safe and doesn't drown? Belphie immediately falls back asleep after making this argument. You have to get one of those baby float things for Belphie's neck when he's in the bath. It paints kind of a ridiculous picture, but Belphie doesn't care. The bath is relaxing, but you can't take your eye off of Belphie for too long.

If you two haven't built up a good relationship! Nope. No gonna happen. He's not going to be vulnerable around a human. Hissing at you when you mention the idea, and says that he's not going to go in the bath with you. Unlike Lucifer, who will only verbally deny you, Belphie will actively fight you if you try to force him into the bath. You have to practically drag him kicking and screaming into the bathroom. It's the most energized he's been in a while, but he's not getting into the bathtub without a fight.

Getting his clothes off is basically impossible when he's fighting you, so you have to bath him when he's still wearing most of his clothing. When he's actually in the bath he's scratching you and throwing bottles of soap at you. It's less about him being naked, and more not give you what you want.

Even if you back off after mentioning the bath, Belphie becomes extremely suspicious of you and will start locking the door whenever he's in the bathroom.

Request: Pavia met Assassin Reader who's retired after doing countless missions, but still looks dangerous nonetheless. I really wonder about their relationship between the Wolf and the retired Assassin look like, especially reader who had a bit wary about Pavia and his actions toward them.

You were tired, moreso than he, and even a single glance at his guns or blades would change your demeanor towards him.

You were not friendly, but you were not cold...that is, until you were made aware of the weapons he carried on him. The distinct smell of blood follows him around despite all the cologne he drowns himself in. You could never forget the feeling of cold metal, fatal yet beautifully crafted, in your hands as you steeled your resolve and pulled the trigger for the first time

His pack was wary of you the same way you were wary of him, you reeked of danger despite your work having ended long before you met him, the wolves would raise their hackles and bare their fangs at you if you as much as reached a hand out towards him in the early stages of this relationship.

You were fine with abstaining from touch, preferring to not cause conflict, but he seemed to throw himself at you.

He was curious, when he got curious he got impatient. He wanted to know you, willing to deal with how you glared at him if he asked you any questions about your past work.

"Amico Mio! Buongiorno," before promptly throwing an arm around your shoulder, feeling you tense before relaxing a smidge after not hearing any growls.

The problem was not touch, you didn't seem to be uncomfortable with friendly touch, but the moment he speaks of how the rain washes away notes written in blood he cant help but note the tension in your jaw and shoulders.

He would have been a target, you knew from how he spoke and the work he did, someone would have paid big to get rid of him.

The thought terrifies you, especially if you feel romantically towards him.

Pavia is a very loud and forward person, he would not be one to label a relationship because he does not seem like the type of person to commit to someone so...commonly.

Pavia was not raised by humans, but by the wolves that kept him company in the dark of that basement, his very best of friends. If he likes you, he will pop up at places you frequent and pester you, weapons concealed so he could (try to) keep you comfortable.

He'll give you little baubles that jingle or shine, and give you cologne that he wears.

I like to think that he likes when you smell like him. If you let him into your house willingly, he'll take note of the shampoo and conditioner you use so that he can discreetly smell like you.

As you get more comfortable with him, he'll test the waters of touch.

Running up behind you without discretion and picking you up, you can scold him after if you did not like it, this was just a test after all and he promises he wont do it again.

He asks to spar with you, rough housing is a way that wolves play after all, and he even knows how to play bow. Lowering his head and hinging at the waist slightly to lean in as if to challenge you; bending his knees and bringing his hands in to guard his face.

The fact that he wants to fight you, in your mind, is bold and nonsensical. You would even go as far as to say he's foolish for doing so, but indulge him, he wants to learn how you move.

He admires how you fight, despite you saying that you never really had to do much hand to hand combat, you carry yourself gracefully. He could watch you mess up a punching bag or training dummy for hours, (he would openly admit how attractive it is).

He's aware that after all your years of work, your body does tend to hurt after a sparring match, its been a while since you even wanted to get into stance again. Without asking, he'll bring your favorite food or snack later on to help you recuperate, maybe even make you gelato based off of the flavor of your favorite sweet.

Theres that scene where alfred uses his super strength to basically be an asshole and keep hitting matthew in the face when theyre throwing a ball around in canon, does your alfred deliberately use his strength like that in true older asshole sibling fashion? And has he ever used it accidently and regretted it?

So not going to lie this is something I've gone back and forth on. But I very much dislike the abuse a lot of canon and fanon have Alfred inflicting on Matt and the lengths people go to make him a shit brother. Neglect, sure. Abuse? Never. I think Matt has shot at Alfred but if Alfred has ever purposefully struck Matt in his life it was rare. I don't think Alfred is an asshole. Overbearing and self righteous, sure. Something like self-centered, yes. Abusive? No. Selfish? No. Alfred loves Matt easily as much as Matt loves him. You may have noticed I call Alfred a golden retriever. Well Golden's have a very soft mouth and a very strong bite they don't often use. They're adapted to fill their role without hurting people. In my view, Alfred has done as much with regard to Matt.

Matt was a very small often semi-abandoned baby. He clung hard to Alfred when he could. If he was cold, when he was scared, if he was sick, if he was tired. Give baby Matt a reason not to be terrified of whoever was available and he had a habit of snuggling in and hanging on. And it was a long time before Alfred got very tired of that and Matt. Like Matt has never known existence without Alfred. He's never existed without this bright, bold outline of warmth that, for better or for worse, defines and defends his existence in uncountable ways and I really don't think Alfred would under 99% of circumstances purposefully harm Matt. So Alfred learned to control his strength.

Accidents happen though. They'd roughhouse and Alfred would slam him too hard and crack some ribs. He'd hug tightly enough to give Matt stress fractures. He'd occasionally throw something too hard and knock Matt flat on his ass, concussed to hell. He's accidentally gone to hand very heavy objects to Matt, like an anvil or a horse and Matt's just gotten fucking flattened a broken a few bones but not on purpose. Matt's not fragile, next to literally any other human shaped creature on earth he'd hold his own but next to Alfred he may as well be made of glass sometimes. I think he might have accidentally murdered Matt because Matt forgot to make sound, surprised him and he sent him flying on first instinct. Matt probably isn't the only person who's had to duck Mr surprised spray and pray over here either but that for another ask. As adults, Alfred has knocked him out cold just by tossing a TV remote or Nintendo controller at Matt too hard or out of frustration. He's probably tossed him a bottle of water so hard it knocked Matt over and winded it him.

I think for Alfred it's less about forgetting or misusing his own strength and more about his inability to remember Matt's not his equal. They will go hiking and Alfred will be going for 26 hours straight like a nuclear powered energizer bunny and not notice Matt's getting tired until he nearly walks off a cliff. But he'll also let Matt sleep for sixteen hours while he does god knows what only to slide back into his own sleeping back as Matt begins to rouse his sleepy ass up and pretend he hasn't been up for eight hours already. Sometimes dense, very willing to ignore uncomfortable emotions, a bit or a lot neglectful, sure. But not on purpose.

Tbh I think that of most nations personalities (not their actions lord knows not their actions) Alfred does prefer using his brain over his brawn. Especially when it comes to Matt.

tim wakes alex up and helps him back onto the bed and even though alex is still saying hes fine he doesnt sound very confident. hes kind of slurring his words, and hes sweating and flushed and tim is more than a little concerned at this point. alex still refuses to go to the hospital, because what if he infects other people there with operator sickness? as it turns out, alex had just gotten up to try and grab a cold water from the mini fridge the motel room had and immediately passed out. tim gives him some over the counter meds and wishes he felt confident leaving alex alone because the last thing he wants is to deal with an extra grumpy kralie. but he keeps thinking about what would happen if alex's condition got worse and tim wasn't there to get him to a doctor so fuck it. guess he will sleep in the chair until alex is able to string a sentence together without looking like he wants to die.

just about as soon as alex has laid back down, hes dozing off and getting all bleary eyed and droopy. he takes his glasses off and lets them clatter onto the side table, and tim is still feeling Uncomfortably Worried, so he has to go over there and fold the glasses properly. and alex is looking up at him, kind of squinting, eyes all glassy. face red and hairline sweaty. and he kinda just pouts up all pitifully. grumbles something like "what're you lookin' at.." as if he doesnt look like a total disaster. tim rolls his eyes and sits down and it isnt long before alex has gone to sleep, snoring into the pillow while he gradually kicks blankets off more and more. at one point, tim touches his forehead, knowing alex is a VERY light sleeper and trying not to wake him up. alex is burning up, and doesnt stir at all when tim touches him. doesnt wake up either when tim puts a cold, wet towel on his neck. tim hopes he'll just sweat the fever out in his sleep. his plan is to watch and make sure this happens, but its been a long day for him too, and tim definitely crashes sometime early early in the morning, all leant over in that chair by the bed.

"Hurry, I need a healing station set up, stat! Get me clean cloth, bandages, a suturing kit, a blanket to lay her down on, and as much water as we can spare!"

Everyone scurries about the hastily set up camp, working in tandem as Wooyoung shouts out orders. He holds you in his arms, your blood soaking the front of his robes. He tries not to focus on the warmth of it, the uncomfortable way it sticks to his skin. There's too much. How can someone even hold this much blood?

San sets down a thick blanket in front of him, and Wooyoung gently places you on it, cringing when he sees how all the color has drained from your face. He doesn't waste any time getting to work, grabbing the suturing kit from Seonghwa's extended hand.

"You can't just use your bending?" Mingi asks. Wooyoung notices the slight greenish tint to his skin, but can't find it in himself to care at the moment.

"Her wound is too deep. Bending alone won't save her, not even mine. Now go make yourself useful before you puke everywhere. Set up a wall around us to keep out the elements."

Mingi does as asked, even though he must already be exhausted from the earlier fight. A half-moon wall of hardened dirt and sand surrounds the healing station, and Wooyoung works as fast as he can to stitch up your arm wound. Even he feels slightly sick when he notices the telltale white of bone sticking out amongst the gore, and he has to take a few breaks to stop his hands from shaking.

Once he's done suturing, he opens the pouch of water he keeps at his hip. He knows that it likely won't be enough, but he'll use all of his own supply first before touching anyone else's. He swirls it between his hands for a moment and, once it begins to glow, lowers his hands so that it hovers over the entirety of your wound. He watches as the wound heals, the stitches dissolving almost instantaneously as all that is left is a raised, white scar.

Though he's drained from both the fight earlier and the healing he's already done, he knows that he can't stop here. Not only have you lost too much blood, but he's almost certain you hit your head on your way down; he needs to use Wavesong to make sure that you're going to wake up. Taking some more water, he covers you in a thin layer of it, encasing you in it like a cocoon. He then stands, takes a deep, grounding breath, and begins to move.

In his home tribe, people used to love watching him perform Wavesong. It's like a dance, though to music only he can hear. The water sings to him, and it's a different song for each patient he works on, helping him perfectly adapt his technique. It's all about the connection between water, life, and the human spirit. The water's vibrational energy courses through the body, connecting with the heart. It's as if it becomes an extension of the circulatory system, a liquid bridge between the elements and the very core of a patient's being.

He raises his arms above his head and begins to move his hands in graceful arches and circles. Eventually, the water begins to glow and vibrate in time with the beat of your heart. It's working, but not fast enough for his liking. He can feel your weakness through the bond his bending has created between you, and it makes his own blood run cold. He knows that if he isn't successful, you might never wake up. Sweat beads at his brow and he feels shaky on his feet, but he won't stop. Not until you're better.

Yeosang stops by with dinner, encouraging Wooyoung to eat a few bites to regain at least a bit of his energy, but he refuses. If he stops the dance, the connection will be severed, and there's no guarantee that he'll be able to use Wavesong on you again. He continues throughout the night, until his body becomes numb, until all he can feel is the vibration of your heart, until he's not sure where he ends and you begin. And then finally, finally, he feels it.

His Wavesong reaches its crescendo. He can feel the energy flow into you entirely, soothing you, mending you from the inside. He feels your heartbeat inside his own chest, a steady thump. Thump. Thump. He falls to his knees beside you, the water sinking into the ground below.

"Tid'qan'uun, kinyue tok," are the last words he whispers before the world fades to black.

It's been days since the fight, and things have finally started to go back to normal. When you first woke up, you felt better than you had in years, as if new life had been breathed into your very being. Wooyoung has been stuck to you like glue since, and you still sometimes catch him and the others looking at you like they've seen a ghost. No one will tell you how bad things really were, and you aren't sure you want to know.

Wooyoung grabs your hand, gently pulling you out of the way of a scuttling sand crab. When he lets go, he keeps his hand near yours, his pinky occasionally brushing against your own.

"Wooyoung, I'm fine," you say, rolling your eyes lightheartedly. "A sand crab won't kill me. Their claws barely pinch."

"I know."

He says this but doesn't move, still hovering, ready to pull you out of harm's way at a moment's notice. It's funny to think that he once barely tolerated your presence, and now he almost craves physical contact as if he's afraid you'll disappear if he isn't careful.

This new bond you have with him, while surprising, isn't unwelcome. You can't deny that you feel something for him or that you have begun to feel at home with this group of benders. You have risked your life for them, and they for you, and that isn't something you take lightly. You haven't forgotten your mission, your fight for your freedom, but you're in this with them now. You have similar goals, and you're going to help them find what they need. And who knows, maybe after… 

Your stomach sinks with anxiety, and before you can second guess yourself, you tentatively reach out and twine your pinky with Wooyoung's. You don't dare look at him, but you hear him inhale sharply. Then, he moves his hand, intertwining his fingers with your own more securely. A wave of relief washes over you. It's such a small gesture, but it feels nice. Safe.

After. What will happen after you're free? It isn't a question you have given yourself a lot of time to consider. For a while, you didn't even think you would have a future. But now, you find yourself hoping that maybe you could stay with them. With him.

The decision might be easier to make if you knew exactly how Wooyoung felt about you. Obviously things have changed between you, you've gotten closer, but why? You know he healed you, even though the how is something you still aren't entirely sure of. He told you about his ability, but you imagine it would be hard for anyone to grasp without seeing it for themself. Is it because of that he now feels closer to you? Are you just a patient, another member of the group that he feels responsible for? Or is it something more?

You don't know if he would even want you to stay. That first night, he only opened up to you because you were like a stranger to him, someone he could share his secrets with, knowing he would eventually never have to see you again. 

You risk a glance at him now, studying his profile—his strong nose, golden skin, long lashes that shadow his eyes. He's staring at San and Yeosang with a fond smile on his face, watching as the firebender clumsily fails at his attempts to give the airbender a kiss on the cheek.

He notices you staring and turns toward you, quirking an eyebrow. "Enjoying the view?"

Your heart skips a beat, and you look away hurriedly. "I thought you had something on your face, that's all."

"Oh? And what would that be?"

"Ugliness."

"Ha-ha," he laughs monotonously. "You sure know how to make a guy feel special."

"It's a part of my charm."

"What charm?"

You stick out your tongue at him, and he rolls his eyes. Even as you continue to bicker, he doesn't let go of your hand; occasionally, he squeezes it gently, and you squeeze back. You decide you'll stop worrying about the "what-ifs" for now. You're just going to enjoy whatever this is while you still have it.

The sun is high in the sky now, beating down mercilessly on the group. Beads of sweat drip down Wooyoung's face and disappear into the neckline of his robes. He wipes at his forehead with the back of his hand, cringing a little at the amount of moisture that comes away from his skin.

He reaches for the water pouch hanging at his hip, frowning slightly when he feels how light it is. He'll have to be careful with how much he drinks—not only is it unlikely they'll find an oasis anytime soon, but there hasn't even been much moisture in the air for him to bend and turn into drinkable water.

He cools it down before taking a small sip, relishing in the temporary relief it provides. He goes to put it back but then hesitates, looking at you. He can tell the sun and the heat are getting to you as well, with the way your skin is flushed and your steps seem heavy.

"Here," he says, holding the pouch out to you. "It's cold."

You take it from him with a smile and a murmur of gratitude. He nods, trying to hide the depth of his concern and the way his heart seems to skip a beat when your fingers brush against his own. He tucks the pouch back on his hip, his gaze lingering on you a moment before turning away. He wants to hold your hand again. Damn.

His growing feelings for you are beginning to worry him. It's one thing to be friendly with you, and it's another thing entirely to want something more. He's still haunted by his visions, each one only worsening the feeling of dread that seems to permanently reside within him. The logical thing for him to do would be to distance himself from you again, to be just nice enough that he doesn't cause problems, and to stay ready and alert for what the future will surely bring. But when he saw you fall? Nal'ich. The last time he felt fear like that was when he saw Hongjoong being dragged out of the council room by Fire Nation guards. 

Guilt twists his stomach into knots at the memory. He needs to help Hongjoong find the Cromer. It's the only hope he has that things will ever be able to return to normal, that his visions will once again be able to help and not harm. The only hope that Hongjoong will ever look at him again with warmth and affection in his eyes, instead of burning hatred. The only hope that the eight of them can be as close and happy as they once were. And he can't let you, or his feelings for you, prevent him from doing that. 

"You okay?" you ask softly, breaking through his thoughts.

Your voice instantly soothes some of his worries. He’s found comfort in it ever since that one night after the storm. It might not be smart to give into his feelings for you, but he’ll at least do what he can to help you achieve your freedom. And maybe, just maybe, you can actually find a way to help him alter fate, and his visions won’t come true. Then there might be a future for him that also includes you.

"I'm fine," he replies before quickly switching the topic in order to get the attention off of himself. "You don't look so good. I'll talk to Seonghwa, tell him we need to take a break—"

"We're here."

Hongjoong's announcement stops everyone in their tracks. Wooyoung looks around at the vast emptiness of the desert, the dunes that look no different from the countless ones the group has already passed, and before he can voice his confusion, Jongho beats him to it.

"Are you sure about that? I don't see anything."

"Look at that rock wall in the distance." Wooyoung looks to where Hongjoong points, spotting a small structure dotting the horizon. He would have never noticed it himself. "You see the way it shines? It's partly made of quartz. It looks exactly like the marker on the map, and the library is located 4 to 5 kilometers south of it. That's approximately where we are."

You pull out the map and frown. "He's right, it should be here."

"Maybe the map isn't entirely accurate," Yunho offers.

"It has to be!" Hongjoong clenches his compass so tightly his knuckles turn white. Seonghwa fidgets nervously next to him as if unsure whether he should reach out and comfort him or not. "Failure is not an option."

Hongjoong's anger makes Wooyoung's hair stand on end, and he subconsciously takes a few steps back. A click sounds from under his right foot.

"Uh… guys?"

The ground begins to shift and crack beneath his feet, and he jumps out of the way, immediately grabbing your arm and pulling you along with him. Primal fear shoots through him as he thinks back to the sandwyrm, and he hopes that he didn't just stumble into a trap that will force them to face another. Luckily, instead of a monster, a strange tower of stone rises from beneath the sand in a rush of sand and noise. Everyone ducks and shields themselves, and then, after a moment, the earth stills and it's silent once again.

Wooyoung is still holding onto you, and though there seems to be no danger, his heart continues to pound in his chest. You've grabbed his shirt, knuckles turning white with the severity of your grip. He's acutely aware of how close you are to him and of the tremors that rack your frame. Without giving it a second thought, he wraps his arms around you, cooing softly and murmuring reassurances. 

"It's okay," he whispers. "I've got you."

His words seem to help because you slowly release your hold on his shirt and take a shaky step back. You don't meet his eyes, instead taking in the newly formed tower with a knowing look.

"It's the elemental lock," you say softly. "The library will reveal itself only after all four elements merge into one."

Hongjoong steps forward, squinting up at the monolith. It's covered in intricate carvings, symbols of fire, earth, air, and water arranged in an elaborate swirling pattern, with four openings at different spots on the sides of the structure.

"It seems simple enough," he declares, and then he crooks one of his fingers, calling the group forward. 

After a few moments of deliberation, they've decided on a plan of action. On Yunho's count, four of them will send their bending through the openings in the hope that the synchronized rush of elements will unlock the entrance to Pandora. Wooyoung watches as they each move to their respective positions—Hongjoong with fire, Yeosang with air, Mingi with earth, and Seonghwa with water.

"One," Yunho begins.

Wooyoung can't help but hold his breath. His heart thumps loudly in his ears, beat syncing with the count.

"Two."

The four benders tense, readying themselves. Mingi is practically vibrating with energy, sand and stone rising into the air around him. Seonghwa pulls a stream of water out of his pouch, the liquid coiling around his arms like a living being. Yeosang takes a deep breath, his hair blowing every which way as wind swirls around him. And Hongjoong looks as though he has become the embodiment of fire himself, ferocity burning in his eyes as flames lick at his fingertips.

"Three."

As the elements enter the stone, the glyphs start to glow, first faintly, then slowly intensifying into a blinding light that forces everyone to avert their eyes. The ground shifts again, and Wooyoung almost loses his balance as the monolith begins to rise even higher, revealing that it has been part of the library all along. Everyone is forced to back up as the gargantuan building rises, greeting the sun for no doubt the first time in decades, if not centuries.

Wooyoung lets go of the breath he was holding, staring at Pandora in awe. It's beautiful, in an ancient, mythical sort of way. Much like the monolith, its walls are carved with hundreds of symbols. They seem to depict events in history that Wooyoung has never even heard of, a testament to the knowledge waiting within. An enormous door, undoubtedly the entrance, creaks open on its own as if calling them inside.

"We made it," you breathe out, the disbelief in your voice echoing Wooyoung's own.

Hongjoong barely hesitates, immediately charging forward, his face set with determination.

"Joong, wait," San calls out, but he's already halfway inside.

"Guess we're doing this." Mingi's voice trembles slightly, and he has a death grip on Yunho's arm. There's no doubt that he's fearful of what might be awaiting them; Wooyoung is sure they all are to some extent, except for Hongjoong. And maybe you, considering you're the second one to head inside.

With a sigh, Wooyoung rushes after the both of you, hoping with everything that he has that this won't all go horribly wrong.

he's always the first to defend you if anyone says anything about you. like once, your friends were going too far with the teasing and it ended up making you uncomfortable and he felt it right away, and honestly you've never seen Bakugou as angry and protective as he was on this day. absolutely no one can intimidate you except him.

before you leave, he always reminds you to be careful and asks you to text or call him when you get wherever you go safely. it's a way for him to know you're safe and well, and every time you text him that you've come home or something, he feels his heart lighten.

when you’re walking in a crowded area, he holds your hand with you behind him, leading you both to your destination. he does this thing where he occasionally glances back at you with a small half-smile. and when you walk up right next to him, he slings his arm over your shoulders while still holding your hand.

he always walks on the outer side of the sidewalk when the two of you are walking side by side to keep you safe from the road. he puts his hand on your back as he continues to talk to you. he's also in the habit of looking over his shoulder at you and trying to keep an eye on his surroundings when you're together.

Some of the other symptoms seem to be similar to fever, like looking pale and always being hot, so people always think you're sick but really you just look like that lol

The red veins look cool tho so you've got that going for you

Back to always being hot, he makes sure that you have lots of water on you, gets you fans on his travels, carries an umbrella with him, and makes sure you wear light and flowy clothing so that you're not passing out in the middle of the market

Once you explain that you only look like you have the Plague and have a few minor symptoms but you're not actually sick, she does feel a little better

in fact, looking after you makes him all the more happy, especially knowing you trust him enough.

rei usually lets you sleep next to him when you're outside, laying against him or with your head in his lap. sometimes he even covers you with his jacket, even if he knows he'll get cold himself.

he makes sure to not be too loud around you, knowing you're most likely tired and would get a headache with too much noise.

ritsu doesn't exactly encourage a healthier lifestyle, but he suggests plenty of ways to get rid of the drowsiness during the day when you've got work to do. for example, wearing lighter clothes and staying in the shade during summer.

he's usually stockpiled on water: cold during warmer seasons and room temperature during colder seasons. he often carries two or more bottles and lends you one.

as a self-proclaimed older brother to everyone younger than him, nazuna is good at taking care of you and always having whatever you might need.

nazuna has a hard time carrying you around, which is why he knows almost every place where you two would be allowed to stay in so you can rest. though he hasn't minded benches, he does deem them incredibly uncomfortable.

he's very caring regardless, always lending you his jacket or buying you water, depending on the situation. not only that, but he tries to keep you healthy as best as he can, though never publicly shows it and instead leaves meals ready for you for when you have to go anywhere.

izumi never misses an opportunity to remind you that you need more sleep. whether you mention being sleepy or not, he would bring it up constantly, though only as a brief reminder.

despite his general energetic attitude, ibara was quite a serious and responsible guy.

still, he was a caring sibling to you and took every opportunity to make sure you were okay. he kept you close when in crowded areas, too, although he was sure you were more than capable of taking care of yourself.

ibara would rather let you rest in his own office than have you go out too much, because it had more or less everything you would want, but he wasn't pushy about it.

he made sure all of your plans to go out contained a proper food break and even going as far as to find a specific food place that wouldn't mind you sleeping on a chair or sofa inside of it.

To outsiders, at a glance, it may seem like Ingo is indifferent about your hobby. But obviously, that isn't the case! Cosplay is something he didn't know a lot about until meeting you. Sure he always thought it was interesting, but the more he learns the more invested in it he becomes!

He's always interested in what you are working on and if you need help, he's happy to assist! That extends further than just helping with the actual cosplay too. One time he woke up around midnight to find you sitting at the table almost in tears because you needed the costume done tomorrow and you were so tired that you sewed the sleeves on inside out and you still needed to sew the trim on too. After that, he decided to help keep you on schedule with your projects, reminding you of deadlines and not letting you procrastinate too long.

If you beg him, he will cosplay with you. But he would much rather watch you do your thing. He has the highest title a cosplayer can bestow upon a non-cosplayer: Cosplay Handler. That means he's in charge of holding your things while you get pictures taken, adjusting pieces of your costume that you can't reach or see easily, helping you around when you can't see easily, etc. You don't even have to ask him to do these things, he's happy to support you and keep you safe! Hearing you brag about how amazing he still makes him blush though.

On the topic of keeping you safe, he insists on doing safety checks when you're going to be wearing a cosplay all day. Taking breaks to eat, drink water, and take uncomfortable shoes off for a few minutes are mandatory with him around. He hates when your costume isn't appropriate for the weather, so he will be prepared to give you a blanket for the cold or a fan for the heat the second he notices you're starting to be uncomfortable.

He doesn't care if you buy your cosplay or make it, he thinks you're amazing either way. Even the "easy" parts of the hobby take some level of skill. If anyone wants to talk shit, he has an argument ready to support you and any creative decisions you made.

Anything he knew about the hobby before meeting you was sort of through cultural osmosis. He's so excited to learn more about cosplaying and see you express yourself!

One time he thought about getting frisky while you were in cosplay and you had to put him in horny jail. Cosplays are too expensive and sometimes too fragile for that sort of thing. Once you point out that it could easily ruin something you worked so hard on, he apologizes and doesn't try again. Plus he eventually learned that even when you are getting out of a costume... it isn't sexy. You're obviously tired, a little sweaty and likely wearing extra layers for the sake of modesty. He may try to see if you would consider getting a cheap and simple costume just for the bedroom though.

He insists on helping you as much as possible. Even if he doesn't fully understand what's going on and you have to give him easy jobs like combing a wig or holding part of a prop while you paint it. As he learns more about techniques and materials though he'll start to talk to you about different approaches you could take. Sometimes he brings up something interesting and his ideas make the project easier. If you start to fall behind schedule on finishing a cosplay he will stay awake with you, keeping you company and doing what he can to help get things done faster.

If you want him to cosplay with you, he will! However, he's very picky about what he'll wear so it may not be something you do often. Like Ingo, he's an excellent cosplay handler. He jokes about you being royalty and him being a servant. I can imagine him getting a tee-shirt that says "Official Cosplay Handler" to wear whenever he goes to events with you. He uses the title you lovingly gave him to nag you about taking care of yourself when you're in cosplay for long periods of time.

Doesn't matter if you buy or make your cosplay, he supports you and does not tolerate any negative comments made about you or your creative decisions. He shuts them down quickly, not even trying to be polite. If people are stupid enough to continue to talk shit, you may have to drag him away before he starts a fight.

Elesa

She's so excited to learn you're a cosplayer! She knows a little more about the hobby than most since she's a model but she's thrilled to have an excuse to indulge in seeing more behind the scenes.

You have all the help and resources you could ever want with her around. If you try to tell her that you don't want to seem like you're taking advantage of her connections, she argues that it isn't taking advantage of it if she's the one offering. On the other hand, she does love to see what you can do without help, especially if you can find a way to recycle materials and clothes. She loves your creativity and your dedication to trying and keeping things eco-friendly.

Please let her cosplay with you. She wants to so badly! You don't even have to do all the work in making it, she wants to help with that too! Hopefully you consider going supply shopping a cute date idea cause she's already planning where to shop and where to go eat afterward. She loves getting into cosplay with you and may ask you to do her make up if it's something outside her comfort zone. Makeup and wigs are her favorite part of the whole thing because she gets to look like someone else. She gets to be a nerd in a costume and not just a model.

Even if she isn't cosplaying with you all the time, she insists on setting up photoshoots for you. She says you worked too hard and look too good to just not have professional pictures done.

Unforentually, Elesa may not earn the title of Cosplay Handler easily since she wants to cosplay with you. She looks out for you and takes care of you the way a handler does, and you do the same for her. But if you plan to wear something that will absolutely require you to have a handler because it will restrict your vision or movement, she'll wear a more lowkey cosplay so that she can focus on keeping you safe.

People probably don't give you a hard time about your cosplay with her around. She makes sure that you get the compliments and praise you deserve by pointing out the things you made. If someone wants to talk shit about your cosplay being store-bought she'll tell them all about the hard work that goes into researching companies to buy from, alterations that needed to be made, and the fact that modeling the cosplay and having fun matter the most. She tries to be nice about it, but it still comes off as threatening. Elesa loves you and is proud of you so she will defend you from idiots like that.
