I’d kinda enjoy it if it was an effort to make the transitions between Robin’s smoother, for the sake of the hilarious “What new boy? This is Robin, this has always been Robin. He kicked your ass just last week….Did he kick it too hard you’ve forgotten?”

And Jason started semi-normal and non-biting until Bruce gave him some tips on how Robin used to be. Trademark moves and the style of his quips etc, suggesting it might not be terrible for Jason to emulate them a little so bad guys don’t exploit him as new and inexperienced, just assuming he’s the same old little pain in their asses.

And either Jason did his research, watching CCTV of Dick’s old fights and noticed the biting on his own, and committed to the bit (pun intended). Or Bruce just offhandedly mentioned it fondly, “Oh and Dick had this habit of biting people…Heh. Don’t be afraid to bite.”

And then Jason really fucking wasn’t.

you'd think dick would be the renowned 'biter' of the batfam from his early days as robin, frequently biting attackers when not really necessary. then jason comes along and is 10x worse, doing it purely for his own amusement.

you think, surely the next one won't want to bite people for fun, and you're right, tim bites people as a defence mechanism instead.

by the time the 4th one comes around, it's statistically impossible for him to be a biter, but low and behold, damian's worse than all three of the previous boys combined. the cherry on top is that unlike the others who only bit for fun, as an attack, or as self-defence, never multiple, this one's standard reaction to anything is to bite it.
