It's very simple. Do i think Hawyard, Mason, Daggler, Mercer, Gage, and Shrue deserve the political power to enact self-serving violence that their communities have granted them to enforce social controls? Absolutely not. Would i be comfortable having them as in-laws, regulars at my favorite bar, or members of my intramural softball team? God no. Do i enjoy their vibes, the comedy their banality creates in tension w their morally reprehnsible actions, and the scathing social commentary they embody every time they're on stage? God yes, and dearest beloved, i want the capacity and the social permission to enjoy bad guys for you too
