1. Mae Borowski (Night in the Woods)

Ah. Yeah KJFDNJFDKKNJD cat girl blinded and chained by nostalgia that she doesn't want to leave behind, while also being weighed down by her past mistakes as she still struggles with the guilt and the mental illness of it all. Reconnecting with old friends, only to find that they've changed and they're becoming farther and farther away for you to reach out to. Finding a way to cope with all of that and simply leaving with "I'll just continue to live" in the end — AUGH. Night in the Woods my beloved, Mae Borowski my beloved...

2. Akane Kurashiki (Zero Escape)

I remember playing 999 on the ds and just being shocked, and I remember playing vlr on the 3ds also being pretty shocked. And I didn't quite understand Akane as a character at the time because I was like 14 and I couldn't comprehend shit. But when I revisit her character now and I read a bunch of analysis stuff regarding her, I now realize just how well she's written to be in Zero Escape's narrative. For a girl to sacrifice the normality and life she had left for the sake of the world, forsaking timelines again and again so she can find the right outcome, but leaving the one she loved most behind — it's heartbreaking. It's cruel and tragic, because Akane had her life tragically ripped away too soon, so she never got to truly live at all. But to see her at the same time be cold-hearted and leave behind Junpei and the others also hurts to see. She's very well written and complex and I love her for it

3. Yosuke Hanamura (Persona 4)

I don't talk much about Yosuke, but he's a character I have a lot of beef with personally. He's a character that I look at and go "Shit, I can't help but see my teenage self in you" and it's like damn 💀 I struggled with the same goddamn things this guy did and I was shitty just like he is, and I'm looking at a mirror every time I see content about him I swear. Persona 4 was a game that got me through my teenage years, so it checks out tbh. I appreciate the growth that Yosuke himself goes through, but I do think the game does him dirty development wise 😭

4. Mizuki Okiura/Date (Ai: The Somnium Files)

I think this goes in hand with my personal experiences, but I relate to Mizuki a lot tbh. I relate to her loneliness as a child, but it was also so happy and fulfilling to see this girl get the family she deserved in the end and to see her grow up into a better version of herself, who's come to terms with her grief. I have more complicated feelings with how they handled some of her character aspects in aini, but I still appreciate how we got to see Mizuki older and see how much she's grown as a person from her 12 yr old self in aitsf

5. Ryunosuke Naruhodo (Ace Attorney/The Great Ace Attorney)

Keeping this one brief and without spoilers since I have a moot who's going through tgaa rn, but I love Ryunosuke as a protag much more than Phoenix tbh, his development throughout the duology is so good! He's silly, he's grieving, he finds a passion in something he didn't think he would excel in. His character arc overall is just very satisfying to see, and he's one of the more enjoyable protags I've played in any video game ngl

like i obviously think they're doing something big with the whole "one of you is a glitch" thing because it's obviously important BUT I kind of like the nobody is a glitch answer because i think hinobi is smoke and mirrors & they only did that to set doubt in everyone's minds. like sure they go out of it with mitch apologising/ "haha guess it was none of us," but they have all got to be thinking it. hinobi planted a seed of doubt like, okay But What if.... and i think this links to mitch's sad backstory, in that whatever happened to him to make him so twitchy about team work and being on a team when he literally grew up in a gaming team (& he's incredibly happy with that team in all the photos).

and this is tenuous at best, but i think hinobi is controlling these kids through planting seeds of doubt. what for, i don't know, but this tech company is just handing out memory wiping gear to literal 15 year olds & resetting their adult staff, they want someone they can control. they also send out like??? the terminator to permaban people from their tech AND sure the williams are breaking shit all the time and causing glitches but idk why don't just not make glitchy tech instead of employing children and inventing memory wiping machines?watching mitch struggle to get everyone around him understand his fear of his family losing something they love???? that was some shit & inchresting they're the only ppl hinobi wants to ban? almost as if they’re controlling mitch specifically. and that surrounded by happy pictures mitch couldn't believe his family just wanted him around? this is such a conspiracy but some adult told mitch he wasn't good enough if he wasn't the best & it's got something to do with hinobi wanting to control him for some reason.

i don't think miko is a glitch because i don't want her to be and also the idea that her reflexes are crazy amazing is just funny bc all of the glitch techs are pulling action hero moves all the time but they're all just like dumb nerd teens who play video games sjskskkdkskskwkaklsksd. her moves have never been presented as particularly out of the ordinary. mitch is just mad someone's like him/as good as him. maybe it'd be a metaphor ,,, but i don't want the girl with adhd who doesn't fit into her family end up being a piece of programmed code. that feels too mean. it would personally hurt my feelings and they shouldn’t do that. adhd isn’t a program malfunction. 

if anything i guess i would be ok with five being the glitch because I can't remember mention of a mother beyond five saying "my parents" (although correct me if I'm wrong djdjdkdkdk) and his dad is a video game pioneer - what if he's in jail for stealing parts of the technology to make five real?? this theory is absolutely off the chain and definitely a conspiracy BUT i think it's interesting. five's so interested in all this preciseness and completing things perfectly because he's a learning glitch, and stuff like vlogs and play throughs is the perfect way to learn. i mean i love that for human five that he literally just like knows all the glitch tech rules and he tries to unlock every single achievement is kind of...... and plixels (?) apparently mean 15 yr olds are allowed to drive vehicles so how far off is a person?

h-hi cat um i was wondering how do you think of where your story goes? like i can't seem to find out which moment should lead to another and how? I'm having a lot of trouble with starting my story off because I don't really know what to do for just a starter, I know where I want it to go after the starter but for a 20k fic I know it can't start right where the drama starts, so do you have some tips on starting your story and figuring out where it goes?

hi, honey bee! 💛 I’m going to be honest with you, I don’t really think of it at all. My writing process is super chaotic, I solely type entire fics on my phone, I write random scenes that come to mind in the spur of the moment, rearrange them later or delete them completely, and I never have a clear plan for the ending. I also don’t purposely do this, but it just so happens that I write my starter scene last or near last for the majority of my fics.

For instance, if you’d like to see my thought process with my mark not clickbait fic, I had absolutely no plan for what I was writing. The only vague idea I had in mind was that mark was going to turn off the camera LOL I actually wrote the comment section first before everything else. Part of the second scene where y/n teaches mark to use the keurig and he’s distracted was actually written to be the first scene opener. But I didn’t like it and cut it out. And then I thought of how my mom brought me fruit when I studied, and I was like “wait what if mark did that” and I wrote that as a separate scene, which eventually got mashed together with the distracted keurig moment. I also realized I needed to explain y/n’s job at some point, and their job is cooking/baking, which made me think about grocery shopping, so I was like “let’s write that” so I did. and I was watching hp while I was writing so that got added in as well. So basically, my thought process is all over the place, and I honestly don’t know how to start the story because I always tend to write random scenes and rearrange them at the end or just cut them out entirely and hope that it’ll all work out 😅

Judging by my own process, I think the best thing I can say to you is to just write the other scenes that you have in mind already, and then you might get struck with inspiration somewhere along the way for the starter ✨ aaaah I really sat down and thought long and hard about this, but I hope this might help:

For a starter scene, two questions you can ask yourself are “do I want to start from the very beginning when they just met? or do I want their friendship or lack of relationship to already be established?” — If you’re starting from when they first met, then that’s a pretty obvious starter scene. If you want to start when they’re already friends, enemies, acquaintances, etc., then I tend to pick a mundane, ordinary moment between the two of main characters. For instance, in the dumbing down of love, I chose grocery shopping because it’s a common occurrence for college students and friends, so you can tell that it’s an established friendship already because they’re comfortable to shop together and joke around together. In sweeter than honey, I chose to write about jisung picking up y/n from school, which is also another common event that showcases their established friendship.

From there, I choose other ordinary moments in their relationship to write about, but what makes it special is the underlying feelings and thoughts the pairing has. I write about what y/n feels, like if they’re secretly nervous about being around the other person, or how they try to casually brush off accidentally touching the other person’s hand, while they’re actually internally screaming djdjdkdkdk and with each passing scene, I try to make their feelings more prominent or show how they’ve increased until the huge climax scene of the story where someone confesses 💓

another thing that really helps is talking through your story with a friend!! I run my fic ideas by tk a lot, and she offers suggestions or just screams about them with me, and it really helps to get the ideas flowing! 💕 I’m so sorry that I’m not helpful in this department, but I honestly don’t put thought into planning my stories at all. I really have no idea how my story goes because I just write anything and everything that comes to mind and hope it’ll come out ok 😅 if you would like someone to run your ideas by though and talk it out with, you’re always free to talk to me, lovebug! 🌷

Or we find a common interest and just gush about it together! 💘 if you haven’t spoken to someone in a while, you can always drop a quick “hey, how have you been? what have you been up to?” 🌸 however, if the other person isn’t really responsive or is giving you one worded replies or just talking about themselves without caring about what you have to say, then move on. A conversation is a two way street, and it’s okay to drop it because if the other person isn’t putting in the effort, why should you?

hi, sweetpea! 🌸 i ordered from amazingk_kr for empathy pcs, but I believe most of the members are sold out already ): I also snagged like half of mine for $4-13 on twt/ig, so it’s cheaper on there but there’s not always security (?) with buying from sellers there unless you want to pay for tracked shipping, but most do stamped only. eBay is more reliable, but you should also be careful of scammers and make sure to check their past reviews and whatnot. eBay is more expensive than buying off of twt/ig as well. It’s like mercari because tax and shipping costs are added to the overall price. omg yessss winwin is absolutely gorgeous i love him 🥺🥺 and omg you’re getting the winwin pc aaaaa I’m so jealous!!
