I have to say I'm pretty skeptical of the idea that big companies doing pr stunts are intending to cover for specific scandals or whatever, because like, past a certain scale all of them are always doing at least one shady thing at any given time anyway
#like we I haven't seen a dumb pr stunt from google in a bit but I'm sure if you looked right this second#you could find some weird gender discrimination or ron desantis campaign contribution or misc labor violation scandal#that's currently being investigated#but honestly 'doing awful bullshit' and 'doing pr campaigns' are both continuous things for big companies#and only seem correlated because they're always both happening
