#I often see attempts to make jason being robin a character choice#despite it being stupid and everyone knowing that it would be better to come up with something of his own#and like I understand the urge behind that. character drives story we all know this#but in jason todd's case he is literally just fighting the narrative#and losing#you can't give him a character choice for being robin because he wouldn't have chosen that#but he had to#he's a walking tragedy and it was all by a design not his own#best we can do is blame it on bruce because the character of batman always ends up taking the flack for the decisions of irl brand batman
