I've heard the story, long ago, that after Christopher definitively defeated Dracula (for the next 100 years) in Belmont's Revenge, the whole chapter of the good count surviving his first defeat by him (in The Adventure), Soleil's corruption and the battle between father & son was left out of the history books in-universe, and only Christopher's first quest was recorded (and embellished). What is the exact source of this information? (It seems to be rare lore building, if it's real)
The source linked on the wiki is this, which from what I can gather was an advertisement/interview related to Castlevania Chronicles:
(notice how many games are missing in the timeline. but the N64 games are there lmao)
In particular:
"Christopher succeded in destroying Dracula twice, but the second time was not recorded in the legends."
And it redirects to this "secret from the developer":
"Reasons why some events differ from the legend
During Simon's time, it was believed that Dracula had only been resurrected once in the past (before the original Castlevania), but in fact, he had been resurrected twice during Christopher's time. This is because Christopher's son Soleil was involved in Dracula's resurrection in Belmont's Revenge, so it was handled privately as a family scandal and was not recorded in the legend. It is believed that this is the reason why some details differ from the legend."
#castlevania#akumajou dracula#belmont's revenge#you can tell this interview is related to chronicles because then iga snuck in one small extra resurrection in cod lol#but i suppose it was so short lived and trevor looked so bad that hector's feats too were not passed on
