hello hello Elz! ๐Ÿ’› This is super random (and maybe would have worked as a message haha) but -as a fellow gif maker, I'm curious as to what your method for selective coloring (like when you change mikeโ€™s blues to purples and the like) is??
I feel like its so unique compared to other ways l've seen, and I can't make out the mix of it, though it's lovely and I would love to know how to do it (assuming it's not a trade secret haha). do you happen to have a tutorial on how -or might you even be willing to tell yourself?
Let me know! And even if not, I wanted to let you know how much I adore it haha ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ’ž
Hey Marie! Thank you for the ask ๐Ÿฉท This made my day! Actually, I do the coloring every single time, and every time the process is a little different from the others but I picked a scene (with many colors in it) and tried to recreate the process ๐Ÿ’˜ Hope this will help!
Here on the left is the plain gif, without any coloring, and on the right is the gif with some basic coloring (exposure, brightness and contrast, curves, levels, and color balance).
I have yet to use any selective color layers.

(I typically don't use all of these selective color layers but here I just wanted to fully break it down for you to follow step by step).
I really go in order. I start with Reds and Yellows: these are the main colors that are contained in skin tones (both lighter and darker)!
So, my suggestion is to be cautious while adjusting them, if you want the skin to look natural. Of course, if it looks good, you can always play with the values a little more.

In this case, I have already adjusted the Greens, because they're part of the background and they're not the color I want to focus on.
Now for the fun. The starting point is finding the color you want to manipulate and then making it pop, in this way, it's gonna be easier to change the color. In this case, it's Mike's shirt and therefore we need to play with the Cyans and Blues.

Example #1 -> Blue to Purple
Now you're ready to change colors. So, make another selective color layer and play with the Blues and Cyans yet another time:

Purple! You can literally choose the values you prefer to make the perfect shade of purple.
Edit -> if you want it to look more pastel just turn down the Blacks of the Blues and Cyans.
Example #2 -> Blue to Magenta
Starting from the selective layer meant to enhance Blues and Cyans you can add a hue layer and put the following values for the hue
Cyan -> +113
Blue -> +110
And you'll get magenta. Now, if you want to, you can add a selective layer to get the desired shade of magenta. My values (not adding photos because of the photo limits lol)
Cyan = -7
Magenta = + 24
Yellow = +54
Black = +6

You could've also tried to turn the blues and cyans to magentas using the selective colors, but I thought it looked better with the hue layer!
Other examples

To get the green color you just have to start from your enhanced blue layer and add another selective color layer and move (again) the blues and cyans to get a Green -> then with another layer you play with the Greens to either enhance the green or turn it to yellow!
Right: enhancing - Left: Yellow

Tips
When manipulating the colors always try to not make them chunky but rather homogeneous!
I always add some vibrance and extra brightness at the end so that the colors pop!
I really hope this is helpful, I know you just asked for purple but I thought I could also give some other examples for you to try and experiment ๐Ÿ’›
