it's like they've been pushed off a cliff and are still waiting to hit the ground. the crowd stops cheering eventually, stops whooping and screaming in joy. in disbelief. in shock, or whatever emotions they've been left with after the storm they witnessed. paris feels all of that and more, which culminates in a whopping nothing at all as they let gravity pull them down onto the chaise in their dressing room. it's eerily quiet. if they focus too long on one spot, they can see past versions of andie and lauren and themselves, laughing as they all try to crowd into a mirror selfie.

they used to take one before each show. that stopped around a month ago, when things got really bad between the other two. this, their last tour stop, should've been a momentous enough occasion to warrant something . . . but no, they'd avoided each other like the plague backstage just to butt heads endlessly onstage.

nevermind her turmoil, y'know. the same turmoil that continues as she spins out on this chaise. they'd both hugged her goodbye [ and tightly, like they loved her, with promise not to lose contact, ] and left without any hesitation, their respective family members having already gathered their things.

she should be going too. but what family does she have to carry her home ? the name HARROW bogs her down now more than ever.

when mina opens the door, paris immediately looks up. they maintain eye contact as she shuts it on kennedy, london, and adriana, all the way until she collapses next to them and pulls them into her arms. mina has places to go that they'll be lucky to follow her too. for so long now, they've been the lost puppy scraping by at the heels of those they love. it ends tonight, only to begin again in the morning when they become a mere decoration on her headlining tour.

she doesn't know what to say to her. she doesn't know what to do after all of that. sweaty, still slick with hair gel, she crumples further into mina's arms.

❝ it's over, ❞ her voice grows hoarse as she finally crashes to the ground. as her bones crush, she shuts her eyes and sees stars. ❝ it's done. ❞ and i'm so tired, and it hurt so much, but i want it back. i want it back so bad.

The Spring Tour ‘08

JA JOURNAL ENTRY NOTES (3-13-2008)

“We arrived in Rosewell, NM and toured the Roswell museum."… "Then we got to OKC. We stopped at the temple, and looked around, took some photos. Then we drove to the OKC memorial site. It was profound. I took some amazing pictures. Then we went to the Sheraton and chilled there w/ everyone for several hours before heading to bed.”

CL: Hey, good morning :) where in NM still. I believe that we’re expecting to arrive around 4 OK time period thank you for checking up on me last night. That was sweet :)

TA: Well I try. I won’t be texting you much when you are sharing a room with Jody. =)

CL: He he… don’t blame ya but wasn’t it you who suggested that? Lol. What if we hook up without you? Lol, JK

TA: Just take pictures. I was trying to save you both a little money…

CL: Pictures? You’re funny :D. It’s all good period now I can get to know her :) so did you check in on the drive or did you just drive out early?

TA: We went early to sightsee. Went to Roswell and Carlsbad caverns and a few places in OKC.

CL: Awesome! And you didn’t take me? Sad face did you have fun? Did you see any aliens?

While in New Mexico, they stopped by the Carlsbad Caverns, which includes one of the deepest limestone caves in the world. In addition, they toured the UFO Museum in Roswell and the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad in Charma, where Travis had his first train ride.

They spent the trip trying new foods and enjoying new experiences together. For Jodi, it felt as if they were bonding.
