He was so used to facing almost everything on his own and never asked for help. He has been so conditioned that he doesn’t need comfort so he just closes off and deals with it himself.

Then Aaron Hotchner and BAU came to his life. His new found family. They always tell him by word or deed that he doesn't have to face everything alone. After spending so many years being alone, it's hard to change, but Derek Morgan is a brave man, with his family around, he’s willing to try.

Okay, first of all? THANK YOU SO MUCH! It's always so so nice to hear from people who enjoy hotchgan, it's definitely not a well-loved ship in this fandom. (I'll never never never understand why.) So, thank you for your kid words because you definitely made me tear up a little!

So, in spite of that, I wrote you something that caught my attention first and it isn't hotchgan...it's platonic...but it's so soft and sweet that I hope you like it. And I do have another set around the time when Derek was Unit Chief that also falls into your idea for sure, and it is hotchgan, so I'll be posting that soon. This one just flowed faster. Less plot involved. Less plot, more feels. That comes a lot easier.

So, while this isn't "hurt Morgan"...he is struggling, and Hotch does help. I hope it's okay!
