i might get crucified for this take but sometimes you just need to get over being uncomfortable. something or someone making you uncomfortable doesnt automatically mean that theyre evil and bad or even malicious. im uncomfortable watching med shows and you dont see me going around saying med shows are evil and every person who watches them are evil. a lot of people make me uncomfortable for no fault of their own, im just easily uncomfortable by social interaction. half the time their flavor of autism just conflicts with mine and it makes me uncomfortable. im willing to bet that a lot of the people some of yall lead hate campaigns against are just harmless but weird

We need to talk.
Without fucking fail when I make something against someone it ALWAYS leads to someone using that as a harassment campaign, when I tell you to NOT do it, DON'T DO IT, if you don't listen to me, then I should NOT be held liable for shit I tried to prevent.
I am someone who is against harassing anyone. I may be snarky and rude (tweets) but me a malicious person for providing context missing that's been public? Interpret me all you want but if you use my tweets or docs to go after someone I am not held liable, I tried telling people to NOT do this shit but they never listen to me, I do NOT care for taking down Viv because directly interacting with her just to tip her is fucking mega cringe if you do this, go away.
I am not joking you take information and just mock from afar don't make history because you wanted to be the next victim of the fanbase, don't put yourself out there. Don't use me as a proxy to harass people because I hate it, I am not your personal army and if you do that I will mock you.
One of you fuckers used the doc to harass an Alastor NSFW artist already and I don't need any other randos to do so, because god forbid you actually wanted to make a difference and you use my tweets and doc to go after harmless fans and Vivs family.
I am not gonna tell you again, be afar from the person we are covering, going to their family and sending shit to them is harassment, they are no longer legally required to do anything. People do this SHIT ALOT, PEOPLE DO THIS A FUCKING LOT.
I literally hate how you make something already public known and someone has to ruin it, I considered taking down my Doc once, another incident will result in the Doc being nuked because if you can't behave then no one has good things.
Also, critic community get your fucking shit together, I see people being all fucking hostile, a rap battle ensued between Antivivparade, chaifootsteps and cherri is happening, if we let this beef go on this shit will be used against us, it's clear that AntiVivParade has some conflicting ideas against Chai and Viv and that Cherri? I don't know. But seeing people complain about them is weird because afaik its personal matters no one has a claim to complain about. If the situation is so bad then I can ask Chai and Anti maybe Cherry to resolve this beef on my Discord but then again no, no one would.
Just stop being weird, is all I ask, stop stirring the pot and beefing with critic communities because Stans will use this to further damage the critic community. It seems like every other day some dreaded stupid drama happens when you can easily not comment on a critics personal beef with another.
I am considering writing in my 2 weeks notice for critic community. Because while I enjoy the community the immense drama within and the constant need to please people is draining, my account has became nothing short of a critic space, and thats not want I want, I don't want to leave my followers who follow me for critic posts in the dark but things just don't make since. This community has issues and I am gonna tell you, if the beef so bad, then handle it back in the kitchen. Dont make shit public.
Also if you want to join to talk about critical just here, we also host beef settle. So if you have an issue with a member come here.

Bad faith, and using other people for labor.
So I try not to tl;dr blahblahblah on other peoples posts, a lot (yes, my blog is full of that. What you see is a fraction of my thoughts, not most of them.) and today it was very tempting to respond to a post I saw about tagging posts and stories for content.
Unfortunately, to Antis and Party Poopers and morality police, life isn’t like ingredients lists. The allegory of using allergy risks to being harmed by information breaks down when you realize allergies are a chemical and biological reaction, and information is just.. information.
Some consider it to be considerate and thoughtful to tag content and subject matter in posts. They hold that up as something you’re then reccommended to do as a best practice.
And then a second string group, not even necessarily affiliated with the first, takes it a step further. They use the seemingly positive and thoughtful normalcy of tagged posts, and use them the way white blood cells use antibodies to flag intrusive things they do not appreciate, after the work of tagging them has been done by the creators, so they know what to hunt for in order to ban. Either the happy “considerate” taggers have done the work to separate the chaff from the wheat, and the Antis can go after that, or the creators themselves have.
The Bad Faith people will then want the content banned, and those that publish it shamed, and those that write it smeared and deplatformed. Always remember that you are no more than a few nodes away from good intentions and a seemingly harmless, benign development being used as a weapon, or a simple machine to wedge you, turn you, bend you or break you to someone elses needs.
Because the Bad Faith types won’t just smear the subject matter or the book. Some of them hate what is produced so much, they absolutely will then go on a smear campaign to shine a light on all the objectionable or distasteful things a creator does, and then use that to deplatform their works, citing, “they’re a bad person, we don’t give money or acclaim to bad people. Liking them is bad and makes YOU bad and harmful and dangerous by association.”
Yes, this includes Rowling but is not about Rowlig, if you were wondering. It can be as simple as saying someone is an advocate of genocide or hate speech or anything else it’s socially acceptable to hate, whether it’s true or not, in order to get their work disparaged and out of public perception and culture.
The Bad Faith types will grab hold and engage with a seemingly neutral thing with their claws and use it against you with mean spirited argument that rushes and blitzes you, not because it’s right, because it’s what they want, therefore, in their eyes, it’s what’s right. Even if the seemingly, surface clever argument seems servicable or good natured, if they refuse to debate it in good faith or it boils down to feelings and tries to treat ambitions and philosophy as objective fact, it is not done in good faith, it’s done as a weapon.
Books and media should not be required to have tags, and the public, whether they have -phobias or PTSD or aversions to certain topics, should cultivate and understand that demanding that and trying to normalize it is just another way of encouraging a social form of censorship. It is up to us, the consumer, to understand some material may harbor subject matter we are averse to, and that’s an us problem, not a society problem, not a writer problem. You being allergic to water does not mean society should make every home a humidity filtering, enclosed atmosphere bubble and all the costs of making that a structural necessity.
This post today isn’t simply to talk about the way people acting in bad faith can result in censorship or lofty standards of what is acceptable to publish, or not. This post today is about Bad Faith users that use iterative change to force what they want.
And that leads me to the next topic involving Bad Faithers. Gun safety and gun control.
Biometric locks are the next thing that Bad Faithers are licking their lips towards wanting made mandatory and implemented, defacto. And there are many reasons for that. Many ways in which they can then use laws to effectively make firearms unusable or worthless.
In theory, if you remove the bad faith ways that biometric locks could be used, a biometric lock could be used to read the fingerprints and/or iris of a gun owner and make it impossible (so long as the electronics work) to use the firearm unless you are the user registered to said firearm. And, in theory, this would mean that stealing the weapon (and not destroying the electronic or tampering with the firearm to remove the electronics) would be useless in a crisis situation, because it’s not an analog piece of equipment. Only the recognized user (ideally, the legally recognized possessor of the firearm) would be allowed to use it.
This would, in a perfect world with protected, uninfringed rights, mean parents could keep an extra layer of safety between their stupid kids and their firearms. Allowing for faster response time in the event of a breakin that goes violent.
Or, for guards in a prison facility. Now there’s less risk of the inmates stealing the gun and using it on other inmates or guards. In theory.
In practice, the introduction and normalization of biometric locks just presents another way to add resistance or drag down a firearm. How could biometric locks be used for that, you ask? Oh, let me count the ways.
* Mandatory beacons, allowing either the manufacturer or the federal government directly (as opposed to obliging the manufacturer and private business to do it themselves and mandatorily reporting to the feds if there’s a problem) to monitor the location of every firearm manufactured by the company licensed to do it, whether sold or not.
* Mandatory log keeping of grid coordinates the gun exists in. Both from the manufacturer with the beacon locating, and the firearm itself.
* Mandatorily replacing the batteries, or the gun getting delegitimized as delinquent and not properly taken care of, thus justifying the authorities to visit the last known location to confiscate the firearm as proof it has been neglected and the owner derilect in duty.
* Logged and flagged number of times the gun has been used, when and where.
* Inability to even use the gun unless the company and by extension the state and feds know whom is practicing with the gun by the biometric permissions.
* Incrimination of guardians if the fingerprints of a young person are found on the gun’s grip, or they try to register someone under age 21 as allowed to fire the gun. Admissible as evidence in court.
* Sudden illegality of firearms that are NOT electronic ‘smart’ guns. Much the way machine guns are considered illegal to manufacture, sell or buy unless you have registered paperwork, special government privileges, and tax stamps. Suddenly anyone without these ‘smart guns’ is seen as a potentially dangerous potential felon, because, ‘why WOULDN’T you want a safer gun?’
* ‘Kill Switch’ allowing the feds to randomly make any model of gun or any individual firearm they please illegitimate and effectively make them inoperable and legally unsalvagable, necessitating turning them in to authorities or face criminal charges. Presented as a clever way to shut off a bad guy’s ability to use their gun by the cops, figured out and accounted for by criminals in the first day and ultimately just a measure that applies to the dumbest and most petty criminals, and every legal, legitimate gun owner.
Even if you could present a biometric lock and some flimsy legal guarantees that those specific groups won’t pursue these things, that doesn’t stop unaffiliated groups from deciding to go after gun rights the way racists go after voting rights, trying to use every little trick in the book like poll taxes and regional inaccess, to make expression of that right either too much of a hassle, too much of an expense, or too much of a legal liability to properly express.
Given the presence of Bad Faith arguments towards certain goals, sometimes the best process is no process. Whether it’s rejecting the normalization of tagging or labeling your fiction or non-fictional writing, or recognizing that no matter how benign a technology or service, someone is going to try and use it as a form of area denial or barrier to you doing something else or going free.
Above are not all the possible examples of the way people can use something to infringe your rights or liberty in bad faith, just many examples of the underhanded ways available.

Was Jk shading Taehyung during his New Years wishes to him at GDA? Twitter people are reading a LOT into it, saying that Jk is still salty at Tae and vice versa. They seem pretty chill to me. Why do people always find reasons to believe there is Vminkook drama?Is there a reason to think they aren't repairing their freindship?
VMINKOOK...
Tumblr media
First of all, why would JK shade Taehyung? What are they fighting about, I wonder. Has anyone known JK to be the passive aggressive king slash shade throwing one in that trio? Because, not me...
I don't see him as the, 'those two are hanging out now followed by a slight head tilt,' kind of person. The 'Jimin wants to come but JK is keeping him from coming,' the 'well, you ignore me anyway so I couldn't tell you were on a mission' kind.
Or even the, 'my friendship relationships are gold to me and it's important for me to nurture those connections' knowing damn well the elephant in the room has a possessive streak and he himself has been on record, allegedly, stating he has one same age friend and all his friends are hyungs- so what is JK to you then Jimin?
Then the whole, 'texting is not a great way to build connections and is a barrier to effective communication' -words spewed in full cognizance of the fact JK is a bad texter yet prefers texting to talking on phone anyway- that is what I call shade. Not sure what was in the water that day, but chilee Jimin was all over the place in that Be Behind video. Lmho.
I think everyone, including even the semi-rational Tuktukker, know damn well what JK meant by that statement and what had prompted it- but leave it to them to circumvent.
Ah, V hyung... we used to have a special bond. When we were trainees, we had such great chemistry. V used to be the easiest hyung to talk to, now it's awkward.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Where is the shade in this? I don't think at all that he is or was in anyway shading Tae or any one. To shade would imply he has stock. He don't.
I hate when people talk about Tae Kook as if there is something wrong with their bond. There isn't. It is what it is. It's just not what their shoppers make it out to be. They are looking for depth where there is none. The fact of the matter is Tae Kook lacks depth to their dynamics. We know it, JK knows it, BigHit knows it. No amount of bullying Jimin or Jokers will add that missing depth back to their relationship. Sorry.
'He is still salty,' honey he was never salty about anything to begin with. They tried it! Making it sound like JK wants Tae to change in order to relate with him again. He don't.
Why would JK be salty about Tae's growth? Why would he object to Tae's growth?
Because that's what it is. This whole Tae Kook tensions is not about them fighting, it's about them growing apart. Tae grew the fuck up and JK can't relate with him or treat him the way he used to when they were young.
Tumblr media
And if these self absorbed, legally blind shoppers looked beyond Tae Kook for a second, they will know it's not just JK complaining about Tae changing and becoming different as he grew up.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tae used to be the easiest hyung to talk to and bully because they were closer in age and Tae allowed for such familiarity between them. Similar to how, Jin and Jimin allows for a certain degree of familiarity and informality between them and Jk.
While Tae allowed and was open to this level of closeness and informality between them, JK apparently held on to the gates, only scraping the surface of it and inhibiting the depth that could have been to their dynamics.
Was Tae content with that dynamic? No. Did he communicate that to JK? May be he did but JK wouldn't let his guards down. Tae failed to breach JK's emotional boundaries and years later he would express this sentiment openly to JK in their conversation in Soop.
Whereas, JK admitted to Jimin's successful breach of his emotional walls when he recounted the story of their rainy day fight- let me not hear any one compare Jikook to any of JK's ship in BTS, I whoop your ass. D!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is the intimacy that is missing in Tae Kook. When you are close to someone, you not only feel at ease with them enough to express your thoughts freely with them, you are comfortable enough with them to be yourself, be different, to antagonize them without the fear that your differences and outbursts will sever your bond or lead to irreparable damage to your bond.
Fact is, in as much as JK felt close to Tae in the early days, he harbored a fear that being fully himself enough to be 'opinionated' and fully honest in his self expressions towards him, would break their bond.
He clearly didn't trust their bond was strong enough to handle all of that. That's the intimacy you find in Jikook. The trust. They are both unapologetically themselves with eachother because they trust in their bond.
Which means they share a lot but are also very opinionated with eachother, clash and assert themselves with eachother. And I know the kumbaya fake woke Jokers hate to hear it, but Jikook are strong not because they don't fight but because their bond withstands the test of a fight as Tae explained in his conversation with JK in Soop.
He was able to get closer with Jimin and Jin by being openly assertive with them- going against Jimin in the dumpling incident and all the times they fought, directly confrontational with Jin over their dance choreo but with JK he had always been scared to open himself in that way with him for whatever reason- I won't bother speculating on. It's their ship, they should do the maths.
May be he learned his lesson. He's learned not to fear conflict, to be assertive without fearing he would be punished for it, to be less passive aggressive as he was before and express himself and his feelings more openly over the years.
But it took him closing himself off to get there. Always looking in photos as if Yeontan ate the last brisket. Exuding melancholic vibes.
Young Jk equally didn't have a positive view on conflict and conflict resolution and I think he knew his place as the youngest and did not want to be as opinionated or assertive against them and so, as he explained to Tae in Soop, he opted to keep a safe distance emotionally from everyone- not just Tae.
When JK talks about we used to have a special bond, all he means is they used to be mischievous, get in trouble together, be brats, chat shit under their breaths behind their hyungs- partners in crime and as I like to call them, be the evil power duo of BTS.
They literally shared one brain cell lol, and conspired a lot. Their bond was unique only in that Tae was a rebel at heart and a bit innocent or immature as RM and the others would say.
Ship wise, Tae used to be on his side. He was protective of him and and looked out for him when they were young- that's of course before he started passive aggressively exposing JK's relationship with Jimin on VLives, incessantly shipping Jimin with Suga, dragging JK's ass away from JM's car so he could ride with him and all of those harmless moments that to anyone with little understanding of Tae's character would assume Tae didn't support JK's relationship.
And even after Soop, he put JK on the spot when he tried eye fucking Jimin through the view finder during their dynamite MV- he knew what JK was going to do. He's seen him do that a countless times to Jimin- HE KNOWS.
There is a reason JK gave him that look in the Dynamite shoot interview when he thought Tae was intentionally trying to expose him holding hands with Jimin behind Suga.
As much as these little things may be irritating to Kook, I don't think Tae gotta kiss his ass too. Jk can be messy sometimes with his Jikook agenda.
Of course they dynamic would change if Tae changed too- which is what Jimin and everyone says of Taehyung. He is very reserved and mature now. He is not the same childish, immature, reckless teen JK or Tuktukkers used to know.
He grew faster than either JK or JM had hoped and they both miss that part of him. Tae said he wished he could get a time machine and show Army the 'Chimchar' he was back in the day. The only way Taekook can be real is if we all hop into a time machine and go back in time to change the trajectory of events.
Tuktukkers need to let go of their old ship, that ship is dead and embrace the new ship brewing in its stead.
Jimin have said occasionally, that side of Tae pops out but he is very different from who he used to be when they were young. Which explains these outbursts of moments and interactions reminiscent of their past bond but that's all that is.
Why do these people insist on infantilizing Tae and holding him to his past?
That comment at GDA wasn't shade. But it was an inside Joke I feel. Like I said, when JK talks about their past history and bond, to me it's reference to a time period where Tae was on his side and was mischievous. To me it's code for 'I miss when you were less uptight and strict.'
He brought up when Tae gave them leeway and was lenient with their schedule during the making of Be- a sentiment all the members expressed in the Be behind video when they praised Tae for giving them much room in their schedules.
It was the same thing he said during his speech to Tae at GDA after bringing up the whole past bond thingy. He wanted to express appreciation to Tae perhaps because the loose schedule Tae had created had given him much time to go home and give his man a blowjob or go house shopping with him- who knows.
The way he kept looking at Jimin while saying that... yea. I'm going with that. Lol.
That loose schedule definitely put Tae in JK and JM's good graces.
My take away from that moment though, is- JK's agenda to give Tuktukkers hernia🤣
Lord I'm dying. I laughed so hard my ribs hurt. Pray for me. Lmho.
Chilee JK.
Dude is on a mission to run the entire Taekook gay, Taekook married propaganda campaign into the ground. What guts me is, he knows what Tae Kook is. I bet he went online after that Tae Kook Vlive to watch Tae Kook compilations. He's been on a mission to obliterate that ship since. Lol.
I mean I won't put it past him. Probably looked up Yoonmin while he was at it and showed Jimin analysis videos of him moaning in Suga's bedroom🤣🤣🤣🤣
Would explain why he was laughing when he saw Yoonmin in the comments during the VLive and why Jimin looked like he wanted to eat us alive. Lmho.
Oh Tae touched my peepee? You bloody moaned in Suga's bedroom how about we call it even?
ROTFL.
I joke but I mean, this is the same dude who took an online personality test after Tae read his results to him in Soop- he definitely watched those Tae Kook compilation-Y'all laugh else I'll shoot you. Lmho. I can't be the only one who finds this funny!
He knows what shipping is, he knows how statements like that would be construed by the fans- and the fact Jimin had spent an entire interview and behind scenes openly disavowing his glorified friendship connections... I smell a renewal of commitment somewhere.
Don't mind me. I play too much sometimes.
There is nothing wrong with Tae Kook's friendship. If anything, it seems JK feels very appreciative of Tae in recent times which is usually a good sign between them because for Vminkook to thrive they all need to make space for eachother and for the pairings amongst them to thrive- Vmin, Taekook and Jikook.
I hope this helps?
Signed,
GOLDY

Summary: Freed has taken great joy in watching Laxus become not only a powerful mage, but a celebrity as well. As any dutiful husband would, he saw it his responsibility to make sure Laxus' new found fame didn't go to his head. And what better way to accomplish that than to splash him back to reality. [Fraxus One Shot]
I'm not sure where this idea came from, but it seemed fun and I don’t write canon-focused as much as I'd like to. This is just a fun little one shot, that I hope can put a smile on your faces.
You can read this under the cut, on Fanfiction, or on Archive of Our Own. Hope you enjoy it.
A Splash of Reality
Freed wasn't entirely sure how, but Laxus had become something of a celebrity.
It had started out during their stint working for Blue Pegasus, wherein Laxus had been forced to take an interview with Sorcerer Weekly. Master Bob had insisted on it, claiming that the guild was run on patrons as well as their jobs, and having the world-renowned Laxus Dreyar suddenly as a guildmember was big news and could stir up a lot of business. It was made an even bigger deal because of Laxus' previous aversion to anything to do with press. It was his first interview, and it had been incredibly successful.
From there, things had snowballed. Other interviewers suddenly saw Laxus as a viable target, and Bob forced Laxus to do the more high-profile ones. When Fairy Tail had returned, Laxus had been one of the main points of intrigue, partly because now he was a well-known media figure and Fairy Tail returning was big news, and party because of the rumours about Laxus taking over.
Once he had started, he hadn't seemed to stop. Not only did he do interviews, but he also done an advertisement for the creators of his cherished headphones, which had kickstarted his pseudo-career in modelling. Every interview now came with a photoshoot, and Freed was immeasurably amused about how, with every shoot he did, the amount of clothing Laxus wore seemed to be lessening and the poses became more focused on his physique. Apparently the magazines knew a body they could profit from when presented with one.
While Laxus did complain, Freed knew he was enjoying it all. The man, while private, did like attention, if only on his terms.
The amount of time the couple could spend together did lessen slightly, but Freed didn't mind that. It would be hypocritical if he did, given when they had gotten together it had been the same year he'd gained the reputation as the 'Pretty Boy with a heart of darkness', and he had topped the 'Wizard I'd Like To Date' list; something Laxus had yet to do, Freed thought smugly. Media was something a famous wizard had to deal with, and it was a lot more fun laughing at Laxus' awkwardness in interviews than it would be if he allowed himself to be angry at the late nights Laxus spent in a studio somewhere.
One such night, Freed found himself doing the dishes as Laxus returned home.
"Hey," Laxus greeted as he entered, immediately shucking off his coat. "You alright?"
"Perfectly well," Freed said with a smile, placing the sponge on the draining board and turning to greet his husband. "Did your meeting go well?"
"I guess so," Laxus shrugged. "They offered me the contract. Pretty good pay, lots of coverage, they seemed enthusiastic about it."
"I can't imagine why," Freed chuckled. "It's not as if you're the person everyone's taking about right now, and that everything you attribute your name to seems to explode in popularity. Oh wait, you're exactly that," Freed chuckled. "I expect they threw a party just because you considered it."
An underwear company had, a month prior, come to Laxus saying they wanted him to be the headliner for their new ad campaign. They had stated in no uncertain terms that they would do almost anything to have him as their lead model, and it wasn't hard to understand why. Laxus had done a photoshoot for Sorcerer Weekly where one of the pictures showed Laxus teasing his underwear, and it had been the year's most successful issue of the magazine. The company had openly grovelled to get Laxus to consider their offer, and Freed had found it hysterical. He remembered what it had been like when he'd gotten similar offers, and was thankful that he no longer had to deal with it.
"Are you considering taking it?" Freed asked as he turned back to the dishes.
"Not sure," Laxus said, walking behind Freed and pressing his lips against the man's crown, a silent greeting. "They're respectful, and they said I can pick a photographer I know which means I won't get stuck with a creep. But I'm a mage, y'know. It'd make me less credible if there were magazine and billboard with me nearly naked on them, right?"
Freed paused, and smiled. He had known Laxus most of his life and they'd been together for a good few years, so he could read the man well. The fact that he'd phrased his last statement as a question, rather than as fact, was telling. He wanted to do it, almost definitely would do it, but he just needed a push.
And unfortunately, Freed had a bit of a cruel side.
"You're absolutely right," Freed said, voice almost haughty in tone. He was grinning into the unclean dishes. "Not only would you seem a sell-out, it would also affect your guild work and your reputation. It would risk taking away the fear factor you bring to missions; you shouldn't do it."
There was a beat of silent, one that Freed relished, before Laxus spoke again.
"But there's good aspects to it," He stated, forcing a nonchalant tone. "I could get some more money for the guild, which it always needs. And it's not like it's uncommon for mages to do ad campaigns and get into modelling. I mean, Mira does it all the time and nobody questions how fucking scary she can be."
"I'll agree to that," Freed nodded slightly, looking to Laxus with a wicked grin. "If you agree that you're loving this."
This had been the unspoken aspect of Laxus' celebrity status. Before it had happened, the blonde had been ardent that he'd never get into the publicity side of mage work, and that the people who did weren't as respectable as those who didn't. He'd claimed he would never do an interview by choice, and that he would hate every moment of it if forced to do one. That might have been true at the start, but as he had gotten used to it, gotten more comfortable with it, and had created professional relationships with journalists and photographers, he'd clearly started to enjoy it. A lot. But he refused to admit it, another amusing part of the situation.
"You kidding me?" Laxus scoffed. "Wish they'd stop asking, then I'd go back to normal."
"If that's the case, I'll talk to Master Makarov and have him block all correspondence from the media," Freed offered, and smirked when Laxus' eyebrow twitched slight. "Just admit it Laxus, you've become a celebrity, and you're enjoying every second of it."
"No I'm not," He protested, collapsing into a chair at the dining table.
"Oh please," Freed chuckled. "There's a small voice in your head that is constantly celebrating every moment of this. The arrogant teenager who wanted to hog the spotlight," Freed smiled as Laxus blushed a little. "You remind me of me when I first got into the celebrity side of things."
"I ain't that bad," Laxus stated. "Nobody can be as bad as Freed Justine the Pretty Boy."
"You might be more subtle about it," Freed conceded. "But I know that if you hadn't made such a big deal about not being one of those people, you'd be just as bad as I was."
"So what if I'm enjoying it," Laxus huffed, looking away from Freed and ignoring the chuckle that got him. "It ain't like I'm doing anything wrong by liking it."
"Certainly not, you're a well renowned wizard and you have put a lot of effort into proving yourself capable and impressive. Your celebrity status just proves that it's not just magic you're proficient in, but also publicity, arguably something a lot harder to do," Freed said as he walked from the kitchen sink and towards Laxus. "But if you think I'm not going to take every opportunity to annoy you like you did when our roles were reversed, you are very naïve indeed."
Laxus chuckled slightly at that, and the minor amount of defensiveness dissipated. As a couple, they had always had a flirtatious, harmless tit-for-tat rivalry, and Freed was glad Laxus knew his teasing was a part of that.
"Guess I deserve that," Laxus conceded. "What are you planning to do then? Find an embarrassing picture of me and send it to every magazine you know?"
"I'd hardly do something so unoriginal," Freed chuckled, thinking back to when Laxus had done just that to Freed. The picture of Freed sleeping, leaning against his sword, hair a mess after a mission, drooling slightly, had been featured in every low-end gossip magazine for a week, something which Laxus and The Raijinshuu found great delight in.
"Then what?" Laxus probed, smirking. He was clearly thinking of the picture as well.
"I can hardly ruin the surprise for you," Freed chuckled. "But, overall, I simply intend to keep you humble. To make sure all the grovelling and worshipping doesn't go to your head."
"How d'you plan on doing that?"
"Well, this, for example."
Freed moved quickly. As he had walked from the kitchen sink, he had grabbed the sponge that lay on the draining board and hidden it behind his back, something that Laxus hadn't noticed. He speedily moved it above Laxus' head, wringing it out. A cold shower of dishwater dropped out of it, landing on the blonde's perfectly styled hair, and splashing onto his shoulders.
Laxus let out a loud and undignified squark, wide eyed as the water dripped down his face. He looked up at Freed with shock for a moment, before determination painted itself across his featured. Freed met the expression with a cocky smile.
"You'll regret that," Laxus stated plainly.
"I don't think so," Freed chuckled. "After such a lovely noise, I don't think anything you do could make me regret it."
Laxus strode to the kitchen sink, scooping his hand in and collecting a handful of the foam bubbles. He turned on his heel and looked to Freed, who had crossed his arms and looked at the bubbles with an unimpressed eyebrow quirk. Not put off, Laxus stepped forward and slowly stroked Freed's face over with his bubbly fist, covering the man's features. He chuckled as he stepped back, the bubbles clinging to Freed's face.
"Well I have had a taste of my own medicine," Freed said in a voice so sarcastic it was almost impressive. "And it is very bitt-"
Freed cut himself off, gaping slightly as realisation – and a glass full of water – hit him. He gaped slightly as the cup full of dishwater splashed cold against his face, part of it entering his mouth. He slowly spat the water out onto the floor, glaring at his husband as bubbles trickled down his face. Laxus loudly laughed at him.
"I see," Freed said, voice calm now. "It's war then, is it?"
"Guess so," Laxus shrugged, crossing his arms, and adopting the same stance Freed had used just a moment ago.
And so, the war broke out. Before Freed could get to the sink, Laxus had splashed another handful of bubbles and water in his direction, drenching his crisp shirt and sending a shudder through him. Freed quickly got his revenge, cupping his hands and doing the same. His attack had been more effective, and Laxus groaned at a large wet mark covered his designer clothing; designer clothing that looked indistinguishable from his other clothes, given that no designer could change his unique sense of style.
The impromptu water fight lasted for a short while, and was covered in a mixture of sounds ranging from cries of annoyance to loud and raucous laughter. Though their kitchen was something of a mess by the time the fight neared its end, neither man cared. They both faced a lot of pressure, and moments of ridiculous fun was something they both relished.
Particularly Freed, given that he was now holding Laxus by the hair, threatening to plunge his face down into the rest of the dishwater.
"You wouldn't," Laxus grunted, muscles flexing as he pushed up against Freed's grasp.
"We both know I would," Freed taunted. "Unless you concede, of course."
"Never," Laxus demanded.
"Well then, let me give you a taste of what you've got in stall," Freed laughed, and Laxus' eyes narrowed. "Tonight I had gravy with my dinner, so the water is not only cold and stagnant, but it's also got a delightful hint of soapy beef. The few specs of the dinner I didn't finish are still floating around, which I expect will make this interesting," Laxus curled his nose at that; he could already smell the mix of contrasting scents. He was fine not having a closer look. "And from your nasty sneak attack, I can say from experience that it has a disgusting taste."
"You won't push me in," Laxus huffed. "When it comes to arm strength, I win."
"Perhaps with another man, that would be true," Freed mused. "But as your husband, I know a weakness or two that I can exploit."
Freed's fingers grazed against Laxus' waist, and a tickling sensation flushed through the blonde. His eyes widened as he reaffirmed his grasp on the sides of the sink, because Freed had barely been trying to tickle him and he was now only an inch away from the water's surface. If Freed really wanted to do this, Laxus would be powerless.
"You have one last chance to admit I win," Freed chuckled, breath hitting Laxus' ear. "Or it's bath time."
"Go fuck yourself."
"Very well," Freed grinned. "Enjoy yourself, Mr Celebrity."
And with that, Freed's free hand attacked Laxus' weak spot, his muscles buckled, and his face was shoved into the disgusting water below him.
~~~
"You've made a decision then?" Freed asked.
He walked out of his bathroom wearing nothing but a robe, his hair a slight mess after a quick towel dry. After Laxus had been pushed into the sink, Freed had been declared the victor of their water fight, and the two had retreated to the shower to clean off. Laxus had left the bathroom before Freed, claiming he was going to call the underwear company and give them a definitive answer while Freed readied himself for sleep.
"Yeah, just got off the phone," Laxus said, smiling at Freed and shifting the covers so his husband could climb in. "Told them I'd do it, they seemed pretty happy about it."
"I imagine so," Freed chuckled. "I hope you don't become disillusioned by it all, because glamour shoots can be a tiresome bore. I'd certainly rather you endure it than me."
He climbed into the bed, automatically leaning against his husband and curling up around him. Laxus wrapped him in his arms without a second thought, smiling a little at the scent of Freed's distinctive shampoo. He nuzzled his nose into the man's hair for a moment, before resting his chin on the man's head.
He grinned to himself before speaking again.
"You were right, they really would have done anything to get me working with them," Laxus mused, seemingly out of nowhere. "I went to them with a pretty big demand, and they actually went with it. Kinda shocked."
"As I said, you're a big name," Freed shrugged, covering himself with the duvet. "What did you want from them?"
"Double the pay."
"They really were desperate," Freed chuckled. "What they offered before was generous anyway."
"Well, I guess they saw the perks of it," Laxus chuckled, and smiled a little wickedly. "I mean, when I say they doubled the pay, I might have been misleading. Because while they're paying twice as much, it's not just going to me."
"Then who is it going to?" Freed questioned.
"You, of course," Laxus smirked, and Freed froze in his arms. Laxus tightened his grip slightly. "You see, I told them just how much my stud of a team captain – who was the fantasy guy of the whole nation a couple years ago – wanted to get into modelling. How he missed the spotlight, and wanted to show off to the world. And when I told them in no uncertain terms that I wouldn't be doing anything without him, they seemed very happy to do what I wanted."
"You didn't," Freed said, voice hollow.
"Oh I did," Laxus chuckled. "So it looks like I'm not going to be the only celebrity living here from this point, huh?"
"You bastard," Freed grunted.
"Damn right I am," Laxus grinned, taking Freed's chin with his fingers and turning him so they were face to face. He smirked at the man, who was doing a mix of a glare and a pout. Laxus leant forward, kissing Freed with a victorious expression. "I guess I win after all, Pretty Boy."
Bustier salt(you don't have 2 if its 2 mean) Bustier use to be like Chloe and Lila and Mari reminded her of her old rival who defeated her she only singles out Marinette out of misplaced retribution and tells that to her smugly alone where Mari record the whole conversation and give it to Nadia (guest star Bustier's rival) Bustier gets busted down on her knees defeated
Petty Grudge
I made up the surnames from snow. If I had to make Caline a mix of Lila and Chloe; I’d say she have the wealthy background and snobby attitude; but she plays nice, hiding her true feelings. Post-Ladybug episode. I claim this as a rough draft!
“Marinette, could you come down for a moment please? There are some people here who would like to see you.”
“Ms Bustier, may I speak to you for a moment? In private.”
Ms Bustier put down her pen. “Of course, Marinette.”
They walked outside the staff room and found a deserted corridor.
Bustier: What seems to be the problem?
Marinette: I’m not sure this whole forgiving method with Chloe is working. She hasn’t really changed for the better.
Bustier: of course, she has. Even Ladybug has noticed and given her a miraculous.
Marinette: She loaned Chloe a miraculous, and that was only when the situation was dire or the akuma was someone close to Chloe. But Chloe’s attitude hasn’t improved. She still bullies. Yesterday, she purposefully ruined Nathaniel’s sketchbook!
Bustier: Marinette, I appreciate your concern, but I believe i am the teacher here.
Marinette: Then what makes you so sure Chloe will improve? You’re just indulging her and she knows it!
Caline stiffens. “Watch your tone, young lady.”
To her surprise, Marinette doesn’t back down. She just holds her gaze with her own steely blue stare. Oh, how Caline hates that look.
Calming down, Caline said gently, “Let me tell you a tale of a girl I once knew.”
Once upon a time, there was a girl named Caline. She had been the daughter of one of the wealthiest men in Paris. Caline had it all at her school. She was the A-list girl. People deferred to her. She was even friends with the most popular boy at school. Thomas Neige was a very cute boy and a local movie star.
Then she came. Tessa; the new girl. Tessa came from an ordinary background but she had dared to challenge Caline. She claimed Caline wasn’t doing anything to help the class and ran against her for class presidency.
To Caline’s shock and outrage, the class actually backed Tessa. She implemented ridiculous changes like a shared class chore list and added more bins in their classroom to encourage the class to recycle.
The next thing Caline knew, Thomas and Tessa were blushing around each other.
Caline tried to help Tessa fit in, but Tessa rejected her assistance.
Caline had been young then. She let her emotions overwhelm her to the point that she sabotaged Tessa’s dance recital.
Tessa caught Caline and exposed her. And when Caline apologized, Tessa still insisted Caline face the consequences of her actions and Caline was suspended.
Caline tried to rouse her friends to the problem that was Tessa, but they all ditched her now that they found a “real class president.”
Caline knew she could not win and suggested a truce with Tessa when she returned. Tessa had accepted.
Caline is ashamed to say she couldn’t handle the truce. Tessa had taken everything from her. Her crush, her kingdom, her impeccable record. It had only been minor bullying; a trip here, an accidental food spill there. But Tessa didn’t understand Caline’s sadness and punished her again.
Caline had been left alone, outcast by the class. She graduated into a teaching college because no one wanted her with her school record. While Thomas and Tessa got married and went on to act and dance to stardom, Caline had been stuck with a teaching job. Money couldn’t help her now. Her Father had made some bad investments and lost most of his fortune.
“So you see, Marinette, I know that punishing bullies never leads to coexistence. It only leads to separation.”
Marinette just stared at Caline. “You’re just letting your feelings get in the way. You were the bully at your school, and because you didn’t change your ways, your class decided to give up on you. It had nothing to do with whether or not you were punished.”
“Now Marinette...”
“No!” Marinette refused to listen. “You’re just living vicariously through Chloe, aren’t you? Because she gets to bully others without reprimand. You let her bully Ivan; bully Nathaniel, bully me, for years. And you’ve never stopped her. You’ve never done anything to dissuade her beyond a trivial sentence now and then for the class’ sake.”
“The principal has insisted we do not anger Chloe, considering her father’s position.”
“Don’t you dare blame other people! Regardless of Chloe’s threats, you could have at least tried to talk to her. But you didn’t. You just kept forgiving Chloe when it was not your place to forgive, but us!”
Marinette paused. “And if Chloe is meant to be the new you, I’m guessed I’m the new Tessa. That’s why you’ve ignored me when I called out Chloe on her misdeeds. That’s why you let Lila organise a massive seat change. And that’s why you blindly believed a note that I was cheating when the test answers were stolen after the exam had taken place!”
Bustier: What does Lila have to do with this?
Marinette laughed. “I recognised your style. You may have had the wealth, but you were like Lila, pretending to be nice all along. Do you dare to look me in the eyes and tell me honestly that you believe Lila has a dubious disability from saving a kitten on the tarmac, somehow bypassing security in the process and never purchasing the necessary hearing equipment? You and I both know she just wanted to sit next to Adrien. And you were willing to let me sit in the back alone because of your petty grudge.”
Caline shrugged. “Lila just wanted to make some friends. Her methods were dubious but harmless at the end.”
Marinette groaned. “Ugh, you sound like Adrien. But harmless? she framed me, and you knew it and you let it happen.”
Caline stared at Marinette for a long time. “So what? Who’s going to believe you Marinette? The whole class adores me. They already didn’t believe you about Lila. Why should they believe your accusations about me?”
Marinette glared at her teacher. “You shouldn’t be a teacher. Teachers are supposed to want to help their students.”
“You’re right,” Caline agreed. “I shouldn’t be a teacher. I was not born to teach rowdy teenagers. But this is where life has left me. I need to make the best of it.”
Caline straightened her back. “Now if you’ll excuse me, Marinette, I have some papers to finish grading. Rest assured, I never sabotaged your grades. I do have some morals.”
Marinette shook her head as Caline smugly went back.
The next evening....
“Good evening Paris, I’m Nadja Chamack and I have here with me, world renown choreographer Tessa Neige on her new campaign to stop bullying. Bonsoir, Tessa.”
Tessa, a pretty brunette in a fabulous dress, greets Nadja and takes her seat.
Nadja: before we begin, may I compliment you on your wardrobe?
Tessa grins. “Thank you, i decided to hire a school designer with massive talent to custom design it for me. This is a Marinette Dupain-Cheng original.”
“I know Marinette. She’s a sweet girl. But we’re here to discuss your stance on bullying.”
Tessa takes a breath. “Yes. I’ve been bullied before and i want to help stop this problem. The best defence we have against bullies are the teachers, which presented me with a problem. What happens when we have a faulty faculty?”
Nadja: Like Teachers who overlook bullying?
Tessa nods vehemently. “Exactly. One of the girls who bullied me became a teacher. I decided to check in on her by asking Marinette about her.”
Nadja: Marinette’s teacher used to bully you?! Who is she?
Tessa: Caline Bustier. I had heard she was a popular teacher and had hoped she had learned her lessons. I went to see Marinette about this when I went to commission my dress. What I learned instead shocked and saddened me.
Nadja: Why? What did she say?
Tessa: Marinette told me that Caline asks her to be the bigger person and forgive her bullies instead of making sure they get punished for their misdeeds. Basically if Marinette is bullied, she shouldn’t complain about it and just forgive the bully.
Nadja: that’s horrible. Do you mean to say the bullies are never in trouble?
Tessa: exactly! It’s the other way around instead. It’s the victims who are unfairly blamed and punished.
Nadja: But this is one girl’s word against a teacher’s. Do we have any reason to trust Marinette? I know Marinette and I believe in her, but the rest of the world does not have any cause to.
Tessa: I’m glad you asked. I asked Marinette to do a small favour for me and she did a marvellous job. She sent me the recording already.
Nadja: Let’s watch it then!
Cue recording on screen.
Nadja says softly. “Shocking. I’ve never been more appalled in my life.”
Tessa looks sadly at the screen. “It’s a shame that the class has to suffer. Bullies have to be reprimanded and punished or else they might never change. I’m sad to see that Caline hasn’t changed at all.”
“No, she hasn’t. I’m sorry for what bad memories this must have brought back to you, Tessa. Thank you for coming here to inform us of this heinous error in the educational system.”
“Not at all. I made a promise to myself to never let a bully get away with their wrongdoings; not if I could help it.”
“Ladies and gentlemen, Tessa Neige.”
Needless to say that airing finally exposed Lila and Caline. The school board interceded and fired Caline. They threatened the principal to either punish Chloe or get sacked. Chloe was suspended. Lila was expelled.
The class apologized to Marinette for not believing her or being sensitive to her feelings. They also thanked her for standing up for them.
Adrien apologized to Marinette for his dumb advice. She accepted. The boy was still new to the world of making friends.
Bustier’s termination of employment was a sad affair because the class did thought she was a teacher who cared for them. But the victims of Chloe’s tyranny knew better. When Ivan tried to protect Mylene from Chloe’s insults, he was sentenced to detention for disrupting the class. When Chloe stole Nathaniel’s sketchbook, Caline accused him of drawing in class. And for crying out loud, everyone knows Chloe never does her homework or projects. It’s not a wonder she gets As when Sabrina is doing all the work or her Father bribes the principal.
ACERVO (S2 E5) Fear (Text proper)
As things in the world agitate, the uncertainty of the future grows exponentially. When situations prove themselves dangerous we need to take caution. And at the end of the day, no matter how strongly some may deny it, we all have something we fear.
Fear stands as a fundamental part of our continued survival as a species. If we had no fear, then we would not have become as evolved as we are. Bravery can only do so much. When in prehistoric times, early humans were hunted by big and dangerous threats, standing there while looking the beast in the eyes would not ensure your survival.
As for the modern day, I would say pretty confidently that fear is still a huge deciding factor on how people act. If they fear offending someone, they might avoid contact. If they have a fear of heights, they would struggle on things like escalators. It is still relevant to this day.
However, there are also more harmful fears. Like fearing an innocent person for no logical reason. The fear of "the other" leads to many horrible things such as prejudice, bigotry and other forms of negativity. Plus, that is the fear that speaks the loudest as no one goes on a podium to campaign against the concept of heights.
To manifest your fear of a group of people into a platform of hate is deeply cowardly. Trust me when I say that I don’t really care about honor, glory and courage whatever and being cowardly is not the worst thing. However, cowards in power or people in charge who are supported by cowards make some really unsound decisions. They do not think about the consequences of those decisions. They want to see innocent people suffer for absolutely no reason. Does it make them feel better about their miserable life to see others in pain? I wish I could give an answer.
Seeing platforms exploiting the fears of the masses is really saddening, not only because what they fear is harmless, but also because fear is such a hard thing to overcome. Especially if the ones trying to deconstruct fear are the demonized group. It will first require that the fearful listen to something someone of the demonized group has to say. Secondly, they will need to trust what is being said. Thirdly they will have to look at their own beliefs and biases. Fourthly, and this is a hard one, admitting that their beliefs are hateful and unfounded. Lastly and most importantly, being willing to change how they think about that group that they fear. Each and every one of these steps is already hard to do alone, all of them together is even more difficult.
There is absolutely no reason to fear everything that is unfamiliar to you, or that deviates from what you think you know. If your life is full of illogical fears and you follow the path of only being around things that you don’t fear, you will either go crazy, become hateful or become isolated. That is if they don’t all happen at once.
It is perfectly normal to have a fear or phobia of scary things like dangerous creatures and heights. But fearing a whole group of people for no reason other than the actions of a few bad individuals, or fearing them for your preconceived notions makes no sense. If they are truly innocent, than there is no reason to fear. Also, I know that just saying that doesn’t do much, but I welcome everyone to take a look at themselves and see if you harbor any irrational fear. How can you end that fear? I wouldn’t be able to respond for you, that’s a matter to tackle with your own hands.
