You and Joe were already nervous enough at having to put your kids in school. Your oldest was in 1st grade, your daughter not far behind in preschool and the twins you had just brought home from the hospital

The first few days had gone fine but about two weeks into the beginning of the school year you noticed that your son, Nathan, came home with odd looking bruises on him

You were a teacher yourself and started to get suspicious

Joe even asked his brother-in-law who was one of the local cops (believe me if something goes wrong it doesn't hurt in the least to have connections to the local police officers or the state troopers)

And that was when the both of you decided to keep an eye on Nathan

But every time he came home he'd have scratches and bruises all over him

And every time you asked him what happened, he'd say he fell

One day Nathan had let it slip that he was being bullied really badly at school for trying to break up a fight

So Joe took him aside and gave him a bit of a talk

"Alright bud here's the deal. I'm not gonna tolerate you starting any fights, BUT......you have my full permission to end them.....and if the teacher gives you any flack for it, they'll have me to contend with."

So you sent the kids to school the next day

And you had just put the twins to sleep when the phone in the kitchen rang

You and Joe headed down to the school where you found Nathan sitting in the school police officer's room (technically I think they're called "resource officers" but I don't remember. We had one at my middle school and she was FUCKING AWESOME!!!)

The officer was arguing with the teacher and it was getting a little bit heated

Both had a chance to tell their sides of the story but man did Joe give the nasty little witch an earful

Nathan may have taken Joe's advice a little too seriously and ended the bully's antics in a rather unconventional way

When Joe asked Nathan what he did, he said that he "manchecked" the kid, a ninth grader who was about two heads taller than he was

You and Joe had no idea what he meant. When the officer told you what a "man check" really meant the three of you busted out laughing

Nathan was lucky not to be suspended but the witchy teacher ended up getting a pink slip about two weeks later

You and Joe were proud of Nathan for standing up

But prouder still that you had raised a good kid.....even if he handled things in a rather.....unorthodox manner

Sorry if this was a little lengthy or had too many explanations o friend o mine, I was thinking back to some of my middle school days when I wrote this. I really hope you enjoy it nonetheless.
