What does your muse smell like?

// Ko's natural scent is baked apples and cinnamon. Like that of an Apple Pie fresh from the oven. He might use cinnamon cologne if he wants the cinnamon scent to be more than what it is naturally. The cologne came from a special female whom Ko had once known and even begun to fall for.

What does your muse's hands feel like?

// Ko's hands are soft and smooth with a hint of comfortable coolness. This was once due to him putting lotion on regularly. But, with his newly acquired shifting ability, Ko's body (hands included) had adjusted to keeping a smooth soft touch over the callousness he once had. Though he will shift to have the callousness returned if he's feeling nostalgic or wielding Kyokokukamusari.

What does your muse usually eat in a day?

// Humans. Being a demon means that he has to for nutrition purposes. But, he is slowly being weened from human flesh with the help of Haruki's and Akari's blood. During this interphase, Ko's main diet was human blood mixed with his adoptive parents and small portions of rice. Once fully able to eat human food without the assistance of much blood, Ko tends to eat rice with every meal. Post Series // Ko is fully able to consume human food and human blood if he so wishes. Though he eats human food more since it's easier to obtain. He eats more frequently, sometimes up to 8 times a day due to having the powers of both Haruki and Akari to maintain. Many of Haruki's friends (Forest Spirits) believe that Ko is a Demi-Forest, which is why he needs more food to sustain himself. The fact that most forest life blooms in Spring and Summer means that Ko is losing a lot of his strength and life force during these months.

Does your muse have a good singing voice?

//Surprisingly he does! Ko used to sing Yoriich to sleep when they were children. Over time Ko would sing privately to himself over the years as a way to keep himself company and his mind occupied. Singing is also a form of comfort Ko uses when he's feeling too stressed and his voice matches his mood during this, becoming wobbly or too high pitched. Ko's voice is known for lulling many to sleep and he sings if he believes that someone needs some rest. He has lulled his adoptive family to sleep on more than one occasion. He's even lulled the animal spirits of the enchanted necklaces to sleep as well. Sometimes Ko can be found singing Sora, his Raven spirit to sleep.

Does your muse have any bad habits or nervous ticks?

// Ko tends to hide his bad habits and nervous ticks well. This is due to him trying to hide all his "faults" and appearing as the perfect samurai/demon that's put on him. When things are too much, Ko will begin to wrap his arms around himself in an attend to comfort himself, just like Haruki would comfort him. This is mostly done unconsciously and is the first sign that everything is not as it seems. Ko will break eye contact and look for something to focus on that isn't a person or living object. An unseen issue with Ko wrapping his arms around himself is the fact that when dealing with high anxiety or stress, Ko's nails lengthen into crawls. If he's holding himself, his claws can easily rip through the fabric of his kimono, into his flesh drawing blood.

What does your muse usually look like/wear?

// Ko keeps his kimono and hakama as the main outfit, under his kimono is Sora's necklace. He is protective of her home and keeps it hidden so that she'll be safe when not out. When out, Ko pulls the necklace from under his Kimono. He only changes out of this for formal events or if he wants something lighter to wear. In the case of wanting something light to wear, Ko slips into a purple yukata with a black mist design. When training, Ko does slip his kimono off so as to not restrict his movements. Post Series // Ko's outfit stays the same, but Haruki's fur cape is on top. Ko now wears a crown that he and his surviving sister had constructed. This crown had the remaining gems that hold the only surviving animal spirits of his family. Ko had offered to break the gems and allow the animals to pass on to the afterlife, but they had adamantly refused. Ko is protective of this crown and will attack if he believes that one is a treat. The crown is made out of metal with each gem entwined and hanging like droplets around Ko's head.

Is your muse affectionate? How so?

// Outwardly Ko is not that affectionate. In fact, one has to gain his trust for him to start being the affectionate demon that he's come to be known for. Most of the time Ko's affection comes in small forms, like cleaning up a mess or tidying up a room. Other times it's him cooking something that he wants someone to try or a favorite dish of theirs. The ultimate way Ko shows affection is by sewing a one-of-a-kind kimono or outfit. Sewing takes a long time for Ko and the days, even months he puts into a piece can drain him and leave his fingers with prick makes from the needles. So, him making a kimono or outfit means he trusts you will everything he can.

What position does your muse sleep in?

// Ko tends to sleep on his back most of the time, but he can be found on his side or tossing and turning if he's having a nightmare. That is if he's able to sleep. If he can't sleep at home, he tends to slip into his parents' room and snuggle between them. The snoring and purring from his parents help lull the demon into sleep. If Ko is at someone else's house, the demon will sit in the living room until he can feel himself falling asleep. If he's not able to, the demon will sit on the porch and listen to the night sounds.

Could you hear your muse in the hallway from another room?

// No, Ko is very quiet and most won't know where he is unless he makes his presence known. Sometimes, Ko doesn't want to be bothered and he makes sure he hides himself well. The only few times Ko can be heard from another room are when he's in a heated argument with someone, a bad nightmare, or an anxiety attack. It is best to knock before entering any room Ko is in since the demon doesn't like being startled.

While is was reading this post I was thinking about muzan' sister having a crush on Yoriichi. Definitely some mess even if Yoriichi dated the reader

Imagin if after Sumiyoshi was saved by Yoriich he went on to create a demon slayer safe haven similarly to the house of the wisteria family crest we see in ep14s1. It’d probably be called the sun crest or the Kamado house and It’s a really popular resting place among the slayers. Namely because of certain red-headed nurse by the name Tanjirou Kamado that resides within the establishment. They are so popular in fact, that the rest of the Kamado family have to chase them out with brooms to get them to leave (Takeo and Nezuko are on broom duty usually) The Hashira may be foolish enough to think they can get away with it. But with time, they too will learn to fear the ire of the Kamado XD

All the hashira are too obvious... they arrive without a single scratch on them, claiming they need Tanjirou to feel better, but Nezuko and Takeo know exactly why they're there. Although they have to kick them out before Tanjirou sees them because the sunshine would never deny shelter or food to anyone, even if they're not hurt.

How was Yoriichi able to beat the death sentence of the mark?

There will be slight manga spoilers so if you haven’t caught up, don’t worry, I’m sure I’ll be able to ramble at you in a different post 

Ok! So, Just to start off we’ll talk about the marks generically!

Demon Slayers who have awakened the Demon Slayer Mark are said to die upon reaching the age of 25. Kokushibo speculated this to be because the mark exchanged the life span of its user for power!

Now there are ways to avoid death through the curse, as shown by Yoriichi and Kokushibo. 

Defy fate 

Become a Demon.

Now the important one to focus on is Yoriichi! 

Somehow Yoriichi was the one who managed to defy his own fate of dying - he lived until he was 85 years old - now I like to theorize that some of the reasons that he’d managed to live for so long was because he was hoping to come across Muzan or Kokushibo again! 

What I mean by this is that Yoriich felt like he was born to fight and kill Muzan, so it’d make sense that one of the driving forces that kept him living for so long was to find and kill Muzan - the creator of all demons - especially after how their first fight went down. Plus if he managed to find Muzan and kill him then many people would be saved and a great evil would have been eradicated

The other reason would have to be Kokushibou. Yoriichi still loved Kokushibou since he was his brother, so having that driving force to see his brother again would be another reason for Yoriichi managing to live for as long as he did

Uta gave him a big smile when she saw how he devoured her portion of rice and said that he was happy. Even if his face seemed very lax, she could feel that he was saying the truth. Happy about his happiness Uta got up and cleaned everything very quickly. Taking the basket and went to the door.

"Come Yoriich, lets go!" She took his hand with a laughing smile and pulled him after her, not wanting to let go of his hand as she feared he would simply disappear. "We can go to the river first if you want"

Last time, Yoriichi-san explains his venture to Sawayoshi. As we all(those who read the manga personally) know, Yoriichi-san was like an abandoned child and he ran away from home after her mother's death. As he ran away, and keep running every single day, he never stops until he's exhausted.

On his way to anywhere, he passed by a girl same age as him(let's say aroung 10 or so) picking tadpoles on a small rice field. That girl's family died from oni. Yoriichi-san can't let the girl alone they became a family the two of them and when they reach adulthood they start a real family, Yoriich-san almost had a child but ended dead after an oni attacked his wife and child. He wasn't at their household at that time, he was searching for a midwife to help for his wife's giving birth. He got late coming back after helping an old man on his way home and what he saw was the corpses of Uta and their child. He held their corpses for ten days. All this time he only wished to live peacefully with his family but it seems it's his fate to end the oni who did this to him and to others. A fellow demon slayer came and expressed his condolence. Yoriichi-san then started teaching the demon slayers the sun breath techniques. It was then the different types of breathing were created and spread, it helps the demon slayers to cut through the neck of every demon. Also from those breath born from sun breath techniques, were pillars of each breaths they have.

Years later, Yoriichi-san met Muzan with Tamayo-san(the doctor who helped find the medicine for Nezuko's turning human) and he knew that it really is his fate to kill that man, to kill Muzan Kibutsuji.

Yoriichi-san see people as transparent, and oni are no exceptions. He saw what is Muzan's body at the time they fought.

Muzan realize he can't regenerate and sun breath technique is working on him. Muzan found his weakness. Tamayo-san can't believe Muzan hadn't met his end yet. Frustrated, Yoriichi-san went tot her and ask her a few things before letting her escape.

Yoriichi-san soon found out his brother turned into a demon. His failed to kill Muzan, he let Tamayo-san go which is a demon, and his brother turned into a demon so they banished him from being a demon slayer.

Go Sumire! Go cheer Yoriichi-san!

Ack, I can't. My heart can't contain this sadness.

            the gentle grip on her hand prevents uta from leaving, not tight that she couldn’t refuse…but just enough to convey the male’s request. soft laughter bubbles from uta’s lips as she settles back next to yoriichi’s futon, hands moving to hold the male’s. “  yoriich i— san is clingy when he’s feeling ill,  ” she teases lightly, setting their joined hands into her lap.            “  don’t worry  !! uta isn’t going anywhere  !!  ” she reassures the man, “  you’re stuck with me until the end  !! okaa — san had always said that i was talkative as i am clingy,  ” she grins. “  but i wanted to go get some water for you, and to change the cloth…you’ll feel much better then,  ” she points to the basin just outside the door.

However, Tamayo knew he has a brother. He must have friends among the demon slayers. So, then, why would he come looking for a demon instead of a confidant more akin to him..?? Nevertheless, Tamayo listened and waited patiently in moments of silence. She didn’t mind the silence as he collected his thoughts. Tamayo was a rather quiet individual herself—but she didn’t used to be, she bitterly thought. Now, she was usually a woman of very few words while her own emotions raged beneath the surface.

When he did answer, a rare expression of shock crossed Tamayo’s face. “What.?? How can that be.??” she replied. “You are by far the strongest slayer your corps has ever had, not to mention the fact that you have come closer than anyone in killing Kibutsuji. Why would they possibly banish you.??” The Demon Slayer Corps should praise him for how close he came to killing the demon king, or at the very least provide the training and supplies he needed to attempt to kill him again. But instead, they banished him from the corps for forever.?? What in the world were they thinking.?? 

Tamayo’s expression softened into one of concern as she looked at the man. No wonder he seemed so distressed… This was terrible. The Demon Slayer Corps would be the best way for him to have what he needed to defeat Muzan, but now he was on his own. Well, not entirely on his own, she supposed… She would be there for him regardless. “I am so sorry, Yoriichi-san… I hope this isn’t due to the fact that Kibutsuji survived, and he only barely escaped with his life.” Tamayo looked down, clearly distressed for him as she pressed her lips together in a thin line. “If you need a place to stay, you are welcome to remain at my home for as long as you need.” Once again, the term ‘home’ used loosely–she’d rather find a better place once she was in better control of herself and her demon urges. But she would be fine if it was just Yoriichi staying with her; she was certain she would never cause him harm, intentional or otherwise.

The static dim of muted voices that surrounded. In a bleak chorus of seething fury, of utter disbelief. Most a clamoring cry for Yoriichi to turn his own blade upon himself in a grand show of seppuku. In dire reparations for his complacent actions....

Not that Yoriichi bore any blame towards their various ire.  

Yet even now, that dizzied mind stumbling. The familiar and comforting weight of the wooden flute tucked away within the slayer’s pocket. That Michikatsu had crafted just for him, swearing to protect his younger brother until the end of time. Beaming ear to ear, despite the rising palettes of budding amethyst bruises that marred those porcelain features. Since that wretched night, when the very last pieces tumbled so far beyond his reach, shattering what little semblance of home he had left. The flute had only seemed to grow heavier and heavier still.

A weight dizzyingly suffocating..

To what reason had his brother gone to Muzan? His gentle and kind brother now trapped within that pitiable half life. Cast within jet black nights, within only unfettering shadows. Baring only that wretched visage. And just what had transpired? Ceaseless inquires that had deafeningly gnawed upon Yoriichi’s very mind...

And while Yoriichi held nary a single trace of regret for allowing Tamayo’s escape. For actively seeking her oddly calming company to figure out just how to tear asunder that faux god still cast within his own futile plays of bloodshed and helpless tragedy..

No....

This lingering guilt, a very blight upon Yoriichi now. Rubied barbs, razor sharp, gouging painfully into that wounded heart, with every. Single. Breath. Guilt akin to vehement symphonies, thunderously singing just beneath his very skin..

❝ I believe that I was born with this strength to defeat Kibutsuji Muzan..But in the end I only failed.......And because of my failure, many more people will lose their lives. I can hardly blame  them for their decision.. ❞

Kokushibo nods and looks at the basket that his brother had made to carry him in during the day. The object wasn't the most comfortable thing in the land, but it got the job done. At least the fur blanket provided some padding.

taking the blanket off and placing it into the basket, the demon stands and stretches. His joints popped from the semi-stiff position he had slept in. He wondered... was there a bit of time for his brother to eat?

"Is there... time for you to eat?"

This a simple, yet important question. While Kokushibo can shift into the form of a small child, that's still weight the other has to carry. And with how Yoriichi's eating habits are... Kokushibo worried about the other over-exerting himself.

Secretly, the demon was missing human food. He wanted to try and see if he could handle a small amount, even a grain of rice, but Kokushibo was hesitant. He knew demons could only eat humans... but he wanted desperately to see if he was different.

But, Yoriichi most likely wouldn't let him.

The only preparation he needed to do was shift into a smaller size to fit into the basket. And finding that bamboo muzzle Yoriichi had made. Kokushibo didn't like the muzzle, but it was so he wouldn't bite into any humans and consume them. The little thing had come in handy many times when Kokushibo was in the basket and the scent of humans had become a little too strong.

The only thing about the muzzle that concerned Kokushibo was its durability. The demon had already put teeth marks on the object. And he started to worry the muzzle would crack at any time.

Maybe Yoriich should make another soon?

'When it happens .. don’t hold back.'

Of course, Yoriichi would not want the demon to hold back. To sit there and let himself die. And he expected the same for Yoriich as well.

"And I expect... that same."

This night was their final night as brothers. The next time they met, they'll be enemies.

But, not tonight. Yoriichi is exposed and defenseless right now, but not tonight. What samurai would attack another that's defenseless? There's no honor in such an attack. No, Kookushibo will wait until they meet again. Where both are ready to attack, to defend.

Others will see him as a coward for turning into a demon, but he isn't cowardly enough to attack those unarmed. No, he wants them to challenge him. Once Yoriichi passes, they'll be no one of his brother's caliber to take him on. This should give the demon some peace. Relief even. He'll be the strongest in the land and yet... the demon's stomach twisted.

Is... is that want he wanted?

Kokushibo could tell that Yoriichi wasn't tired, but still the other should try to rest. He had a long journey ahead of him. But, he understood why the younger didn't want to sleep.

Indeed, Kokushibo didn't need sleep like he once did... but that didn't mean he wanted the night to end. No, if he could, the demon would have this night last for longer. Even if it was a few minutes to some hours. He wanted his brother to have time with his older brother before the inevitable happens.

"Fate... is fickle... kind... and unkind. We can... try the hardest that we can... to change it, but Fate will... always have... it's way."

Kokushibo understood. He understood why Yoriichi didn't want this. He didn't want to kill his own brother, but Fate has other ideas. And the demon can tell... the demon knew.

"All we can... do is hope and pray... that Fate is... at least merciful."

An illness...

An illness had brought Yoriichi down and left his wife a widow. But, there's something he needed to know. Something told him that an illness wasn't just the solo reason he passed.

The mark...

The slayer mark.

Ko needed to know how old Yoriich was when he passed. If it was 25 then...

Ko mentally shakes the thought of the mark from his mind. He didn't want to think about his younger twin falling to the curse. God, please let it be before his 25 birthday.

Giving a hum, the demon pulls his sister-in-law into his chest and holds her. She needed comfort and he could at least give her that.

"How... how old was he... when he got ill?"

The last time he saw his brother, they were close to 23 in age.
