have been thinking about waldosia a lot recently. probably because i've been working on it.

anyways, since it's been a while since i originally deisgned them, i drew how shia, wallie, and bentley will look in the story. (saying that bentley's there is probably spoilers but she shows up in the story pretty quick so is it really? plus like who cares.)

but yeah. here we have

shia grimm, they/them, non-binary butch lesbian, runs a smuggling enterprise and a bar, about to get married

waldo "wallie" fischer, he/him, sailor, gay, shia's ex, avoids confrontation like the plague and hasn't talked to any of his friends/family in 7 years because of it

bentley gruyme, she/her, a bit very mentally unstable ngl but for good reason, has inside information and is ready to do some overthrowing, just wants her wife back

Bentley (she/her), Cherry (she/her), & Aspen (he/him)

Their story takes place is a moderately sized town on the island of Do:chaus after a new school headmaster moves into town with their only daughter, Bentley.

Cherry and Aspen have are best friends from the town's most affluent families, and they have been betrothed since childhood. When Bentley moves in and her father becomes the new headmaster, Cherry and Aspen's parents instruct them to befriend her and make her feel welcome in town. They introduce Bentley to their friend group, and Aspen becomes fast friends with Bentley. Soon Cherry can't help but feel Aspen and her growing apart, and then love letters from a secret admirer begin to find their way to her. Little does Cherry know, Bentley has fallen head over heels for her.

Realizing I haven't talked about Waldosia outside of playlists....

It all started in April 2020 (I think) with a character creation prompt from one of the Amino's I was part of. The prompt was a word from the Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows: waldosia.

So that's what the story is named after.

The main characters are Shia Grimm (they/them) and Waldo Fischer (he/him).

Summary: Seven years after Waldo broke Shia's heart and left town without explanation, Shia is busy living as a successful owner of a bar (and illegal liquor smuggling business) and preparing for their upcoming wedding to their beloved fiancée, Devon Atlay-Gras (he/him). When Shia wants to see him the least, Waldo waltzes back into their life apropos of nothing, spinning what Shia thinks to be tall tales of a looming threat after them both. Waldo has done a lot of dumb things in his life, and leaving for seven whole years with no contact definitely ranks pretty high on the list. Yet he still doesn't want to see anyone get more hurt; Shia deserves to have a good wedding and a happy life without the threats their smuggling enterprise has gained the attention of. Luckily, Waldo has a gal on the inside, as it were, to help them deal with this impending mess: Bentley Gruyme. However, tensions run high as the past is inevitably stirred up. Will they be able to cooperate enough to clean this mess up before the wedding, or will Shia's life go spiraling down into in more chaos?
