OT5 VIPS are so embarrassing to the fandom and just humanity in general, they’ll bend over backwards to defend their ‘panda’ it physically hurts me :( half of the proof they give isn’t substantial they don’t take in account that they only have some of the evidence in seungri cases and Hes not only being charged of things like prostitution but embezzlement and other things— seungri stans are so desperate to prove he didn’t have anything to do with harming those women they don’t stop to think of the harm he’s done in other ways. Even if the judge is wrong about the prostitution, and he truly never saw any sex vid in those gcs hes still done bad illegal harmful stuff? He’s not a good person no matter how much they try to spin this. My only qualm with the ruling is that he got more time than the others— everyone’s sentence shoudlve been way longer
They’re just like Seungri himself. Narcissistic, cocky, loud and obnoxious. Why wonder they decided to continue and support him. They’re the same type of person all fused into one.
The second hand embarrassment I have for them right now with the guilty final verdict and prison sentence, they’re the biggest joke right now.
While, I’m aware that a guilty verdict was never going to change their opinions and stance, it’s nice to see them be proven wrong after we’ve all tried to tell them since the beginning. They don’t want to listen and insist that Seungri was being used as a ‘witch-hunt’ it’s refreshing to watch them be put in their place.
Seungri did see sex videos, he laughed at them, he thought it was so humorous. The chats were fabricated they kept whining.. they all weren’t all ‘fake’ and their was screenshots of Seungri in the chats, he was in multiple. It wasn’t only Lee Jonghyun that they keep intending that’s who it only was; Seungri even had the nerve to say: ‘My life is more than Jung Joonyoung’s kakao chats’
the audacity!!
For these fans to continue and preach that a 30-year old man who has always been known to be a pervert and woman-chaser, he has no clue or knowledge on any of this is still by the far the dumbest thing I’ve heard them say. Seungri loves sex, he knew everything. That was his business, he’s passionate about sex where he had to go into that business just to make more money since I guess he wasn’t making enough being the least liked in BigBang. Suddenly every vip is now he’s biggest fan, sounds like both ends are guilty and pitiful. It took a whole prostitution scandal for these fans to make him #1. He’s thriving off of it but in the worse way.
Seungri knew what Jung Joonyoung was like, it wasn’t something these men hid behind his back. They all got along for a reason, right? Right. Just because Seungri himself didn’t assault or r*pe anyone that doesn’t make him a hero, that out of all things doesn’t make him any ounce of innocent left in him. He doesn’t get an award and a pat on his back for not partaking in abuse. Seungri’s partner in crime Yoo Insuk knew everything. Even admitted to it. Seungri worked with him. He’s in on it. Seungri doesn’t care about anyone but himself and it’s been that way for ages. He’s always shown that side of his.
These fans have the audacity to bitch and moan that these news articles are putting nothing but misleading information as if they are not doing the same thing? They have been telling everyone who will listen that Seungri was proven innocent. They do on and make their own threads but continue to edit and tamper what they want you to know. No gambling is NOT his only charge and this whole case is not based off of gambling I hate to break to you. You don’t get to pick and choose what to ignore and what to list just to benefit some scum idol you thought was someone you could love forever. A fandom does not make that decision. None of these fans know Seungri, none of them were in any of the court hearings. They know as much as you and I do: what Seungri wants to show us. Nothing was ever sincere and trustable with him and I hate to admit that now. I never felt I could trust him like I can with the others, my internal gut feelings were right all along.
The constant preach of Seungri’s innocent just to be slapped in the face today with an actual final verdict, they’ll be raging on twitter coming up with an ‘unfair case’ and that he is ‘wrongfully’ accused, you watch. Like I said before; a guilty verdict will not stop them even if that’s what some of us thought. It will not. Maybe it’ll hit some of them in the head but I don’t see them changing their stance or opinions. As you said yourself, Seungri had enough time, too much time I’d you ask me. Three years is nothing, the other have about 5 years. Korea’s justice system is a mess. Justice is never served just temporarily served, like putting a bandaid over a serve wound.
Who are you going to believe a court order or a biased fandom of an Ex idol. Seriously they thought as a fandom they could get everyone to follow them like a cult to save their leader. They’re criminally insane!
This fandom is the biggest joke of the century this is why nobody even tries to bother and get into BigBang neither take the fandom seriously.

Sex, Drugs and Tax evasion - The Scandal Which Broke The Industry
This cases was revealed in 2019, and was ongoing until recently. It is the largest scandal to have hit the K-Pop industry to date and it involved numerous Korean celebrities and even police officials.
There's a lot to unpack and this case unraveled extremely quickly, so let's get started.
Who does this involve? Seungri of Big Bang, Yong Junhyung of Highlight, Choi Jonghoon of F.T Island, Lee Jonghyun of CNBlue, as well as Jung Joonyoung, former artist and entertainer, Yang Hyunsuk, YG Entertainment's former CEO and many more artists and company CEO's and officials.
This case became so big because, for one it involved very big and powerful celebrity names, but also because South Korea have a huge problem with "molka", which is the Korean word for hidden cameras. These hidden cameras are then used to distribute non consensual videos of women.
Club Burning Sun was a well known club where many celebrities and officials frequented, as well as Seungri being the publicity director.
In early 2019, it was reported that an assault had taken place. This gathered attention to the club as it was well known that Seungri was one of the directors. This lead to YG Entertainment, Seungri's then company making a statement that Seungri's personal businesses were completely unrelated to the company. Later on, Seungri went to apologise on his social media, claiming he had low level involvement in the club and was only there to promote it - this was later proven wrong, and Seungri had a way larger part in the club than he initially claimed.
Simultaneously, Dispatch revealed chats among other Burning Sun staff which discussed date rape as well as drugs.
A week or so later, another KakaoTalk (like WhatsApp in Korea) chat which dated back to December 2015 was revealed, where Seungri had allegedly planned to bride investors with prostitutes. The other members of the chat were Choi Jonghoon, CEO Yoo Insuk and a Burning Sun employee, who was told to find the prostitutes. Statements claiming these were false were made.
More celebrities were also revealed to have taken part in chatrooms where obscene photographs and videos were distributed - all of them were summoned to be questioned by the police.
Over the next month, Seungri as well as other suspects were questioned by the police. Other reports of similar cases were revealed, meaning this case became even more complex and lengthy.
It almost became like a chain reaction which uncovered more issues of celebrities involved in sex scandals, drugs, tax evasions and many more crimes dating years back. It really showed how corrupt parts of the industry is, and how they really use their power and money.
What happened to the mentioned people?
The celebrities contracts were terminated, and CEO's stepped down.
Seungri, was indicted on charges such as organising prostitution, habitual gambling, and illegal foreign currency trade in January 2020.
Jung Joonyoung was sentenced to 6 years and Choi Jonghoon to 5 years in prison for their involvement and rape.
Yong Junhyung and Lee Jonghyun admitted to watching content spread by Jung Joonyoung but weren't sentenced as they were deemed only witnesses.
Yang Hyunsuk stepped down as CEO of YG Entertainment.
If you are interested in this case and want further information, please visit Billboard, where you can find a detailed and dated timeline of the scandal.
Why was this case so shocking?
For obvious reason, this case would be a shock no matter who was involved. However, the names involved in this case were so well known and held the hearts of the public, making it more shocking. The people involved, like Seungri, were well known for being good people and involved in many charities.
It really serves as another reminder that fans and the public really do not know who their idols are. But also shows how different their idols personalities can be due to how they are marketed.

That’s because he isn’t innocent and it is just his fans and gullible ot5 vips who keep on preaching his innocence when he is definitely not. Morally he will never be innocent. Not guilty? Still doesn’t make him 100% innocent at all. His buddy in crime Yoo Insuk has admitted to all the prostitution. Don’t let idiotic vips tell you he’s innocent when he isn’t. According to them this whole time he is only in trouble due to gambling. Silly. As if 2019 didn’t all go down within the ring I’d prostitution, Sourh Korea’s largest scandal.
I’m Stumped.
Tumblr media
Can someone please tell me if Seungri has been truly proven innocent, and with reliable citation if there is any? I keep hearing that he is innocent, but when I go looking for articles or reports, I find absolutely nothing about it in recent news. Is it because he’s in the hands of the military now and no one can get any details until he’s out?
I’ll be honest, I really want him to be. All I can do is hope for the best!

I really thought they would finally stfu but ofc now they're saying the judge's decision was wrong and based on no evidence, that the reliability of the witnesses should not have been questioned and that the sentence is too high compared to yoo inseoks. ngl their whole argument of the sk justice system being unjust and out to get their poor oppa is starting to look lowkey racist to me (aside from the more obvious problems with it). 99% don't even speak korean. How the fuck would they even know? I doubt they know shit about the country let alone its legal system. How dare they claim all these law professionals involved in this case are dumb and incompetent. How dare they speak over korean's women's voices just because their fave got involved in some shit. They make it seem like the korean people and kvips are dumb and brainwashed because they refuse to believe that pos. Even on the off chance that he isn't guilty of all of his charges. He's a rich man. He can appeal. He can probably just be a good boy for a year and then get out somehow. Why are they so worried for him? Why do they continue to refuse to let people just move the fuck on? They ask for justice but will not believe any verdict besides one that comes from their own beloved idol's mouth. Besides... Even if the government and jurisdiction there were corrupt, wouldn't it be the other way around? Wouldn't they favour the famous rich guy? What would they even be gaining in witch hunting him? Hubris much? Absolutely shameless and disgusting the lot of them.
👏👏👏
I almost don't want to say anything because this is so good already, but... a few comments:
1) "the reliability of the witnesses should not have been questioned" -- I've read many reports and not once have I seen the reliability of the witnesses questioned? Not saying it isn’t possible, just that I haven’t seen it reported. I do know, however, that Seungri's reliability was questioned. It was said that from the police investigation to the prosecutor's investigation to the court proceedings his statements were inconsistent and lacked credibility. And they DID. Especially if you take into account his statements to the public, of which there were plenty. Most notably that Chosun interview that he got out there and gave while he was a primary suspect in the middle of a criminal investigation.
For example, the chat that shows Seungri instructing Yoo & Co to find prositutes for their investors at Club Arena... Seungri's excuses, in chronological order:
"The chats are fabricated." (this was the first chat to be released and the first one he responded to publicly)
"The chats aren't fabricated, I just didn't remember them."
"I don't know why I said that. I think I was drinking."
"It isn’t about sex. It's a phrase that means something else and is used by young people. You old folks wouldn't understand." (regarding the phrase "girls that give it good")
"It was a typo due to my phone's autocorrect function."
Another example: how about that confession he made at his arrest warrant hearing in May 2019? You know, the one that his zealous fans will insist until their dying breath was "all media lies"? He admitted in front of a judge, "I had sexual relations with a female employee of an adult entertainment establishment after paying money," said it was "difficult to admit" because of his celebrity status, and claimed he was "reflecting." It doesn't get any clearer than that! But somehow, over a year later when his trial officially began, that very detailed confession of his turned into "I don't remember. But if I did sleep with her, I didn't know she was a prostitute."
???
He actually addressed this in one of his final hearings. He tried to explain away his changing statement by saying that he had only admitted to it because the woman did, and if she said it happened, he thought he had no choice but to agree (?!) but when he reviewed her testimony he found it "unreliable." And just like that he didn't remember after all.
Y'all. What the hell. Who does that? Who, despite being unsure of the validity of a criminal charge against him, confesses anyway? Certainly not someone as careful and calculating as Seungri. What most likely happened is he analyzed her statement to police and found holes in it that he thought he could exploit. At least he confirmed that the confession at the warrant hearing was real and his stans can finally shut up about it being a made-up media conspiracy. But of course we know they won't. They won't.
2) "the sentence is too high compared to yoo inseoks" -- Of course Seungri's sentence is more severe than Yoo Insuk's. Yoo pleaded guilty to all but one of his charges at his first hearing (the embezzlement charge he only partially agreed with), saving the court a great deal of time and effort in closing his case. Seungri, on the other hand, pleaded not guilty to all but one of his charges. Seungri went into this knowing full well that by fighting the charges and making this a headache for everyone he was risking a harsher penalty should he be found guilty. That's how it works over there. His unrepentant attitude and refusal to accept responsibility and reflect were reasons explicitly given for the prosecution’s requested 5-year sentence. He gambled with the legal system and he lost.
You'll also see his fans crying foul at CJH and JJY getting shorter sentences. Actually, CJH and JJY received higher sentences initially (5 years and 6 years respectively). The reason they are lower now (2.5 and 5) is because they wouldn't accept the results and appealed their cases to death.
3) "their whole argument of the sk justice system being unjust and out to get their poor oppa is starting to look lowkey racist to me" -- They've been highkey racist about this since the beginning. You'd be appalled to see some of the blatantly xenophobic things they've spewed to me about Koreans entirely in defense of Seungri.

Don’t get me wrong I’m relieved he’s getting some punishment. But they convicted him of all nine of his charges and he’s only getting three years? That’s seems so light to me.
I hear you. It's more than I expected (I had kept my expectations low and thought that if he got prison time it would only be for about 1 year) and more than I was hoping for (I said in a recent post that I wanted 2.5 years, equal to the length of time we've had to suffer through his and his fans' lies), but less than I think is appropriate. First, some of the charges probably only carried fines. Next, from what I've gathered, crimes of a sexual nature tend to get light sentences in Korea (sigh). Also keep in mind that utilizing prostitution services as a business tool is still a fairly widespread practice in Korea. One that they’ve been trying to clean up in recent years but there's a long history behind the "commercialization of sex" as the judge called it and I just... was prepared for it to end with a relatively light sentence if convicted.
It seems it's the financial crimes that hold the heavier penalties. In Seungri's case, I figured embezzlement (of Burning Sun funds) was the charge with the greatest potential to put him behind bars. But the court only partially convicted him on that; apparently there was some kind of mitigating factor that they took into account. Something about funds disbursements related to the club's other investors, idk.
They also cited leniency because one of the victims of the violence instigation charge didn’t feel especially threatened by the incident and asked that Seungri not be punished for it.
That said, had he fessed up early on instead of dragging this out for years and making it like pulling teeth, he probably could have gotten off with probation like his partner Yoo Insuk. But he didn’t. As I said in a previous ask reply: he took a gamble and he lost.

scrolling twitter and seeing all those seungri stans honestly makes me feel sick to my stomach. like what are they thinking. “first time in korean history a judge sentenced someone just because he felt like it” HUH???? how can they still stand by him. its reminds me of guys like ted bundy or richard ramirez who had fangirls at their court trials rooting for them...
It's their mistranslations and mass scale mental gymnastics wreaking havoc again 🙄 I'm sure there's nothing amiss with the language used in court statements, but of course these fans from overseas, the vast majority of whom don't speak a lick of Korean or know the first thing about the Korean judicial system feel entitled to pick apart the exact verbiage and run with it 🥴 There's nothing weird or wrong about the judge stating that based on the evidence presented, the court believes this or that. I swear, the arguments these people continually come up with to defend this guy...
As for fangirls being present and rooting for him... this isn't quite what you meant but it reminds me: I've seen some of his supporters still expressing a desire to greet him upon discharge -- assuming he's going to appeal, that is, which he almost surely will, like Choi Jonghoon and Jung Joonyoung (and Yoo Insuk, though Yoo later withdrew his appeal). He has 7 days to appeal, and when he does, if the appeal trial begins after his scheduled discharge date in September then he could be discharged normally -- and by that I mean as a "veteran" who's completed his conscription. Crazy, huh?
Here's what many of his supporters don't seem to realize: even if he appeals and is discharged "normally" that doesn't mean they'll get to see him. He won’t be walking free. He will be transferred on his discharge date from the military detention center where he's currently being held to a civilian detention center, to be kept there until the start of his appeal trial.
In short, at this point there is no way they get to meet and greet and offer “moral support” as he leaves the facility. That ship has sailed.

Why are ot5s so smug about some news outlets receiving warnings for publishing those chat's contents uncensored? The warning is for the chats being so explicit and gross, isn't it? How is that a win for them lol? Why do they keep saying ALL of them are fake when their fave literally acknowledged one of them in court by claiming it was autocorrect? Their brain acrobatics reach new heights every single day I swear. Oh and impressive edit with that handholding picture btw!
Are they? Oh boy. They must be misunderstanding the reports lol. Which is par for the course for them, so, you know... disappointed but not surprised.
You're right: the news outlets were reprimanded for publishing Seungri & co's chats uncensored precisely because the language contained within is so over-the-top revolting. The purpose of the warning is to shield the public from unexpected exposure to such things. If anything, the recent reports serve as a reminder of just how awful the Burning Sun chats were (as they're often called). It's also why, earlier this month, Dispatch brought a few of those chats back to the public's attention: to ensure no one forgets how vile these men are. Also to swiftly shoot down Seungri’s laughable "it was a typo" defense. Given the context of the conversation and the fact that he continued without correcting himself, anyone with even half a brain can be certain that was no typo. "Wrongful sexual consciousness," prosecutors said about Seungri during his decision hearing and cited his attempts at "shifting the blame” as their reason for the 5-year sentence they’ve requested.
The chats are authentic. The chats have been used as evidence in court against Seungri, Jung Joonyoung, Choi Jonghoon, Yoo Insuk, and everyone else involved in them. Seungri has not contested the chats' authenticity during court proceedings (note: at the beginning of the scandal before investigations began he claimed the chats were fabricated, then a short while later publicly took that back). What he has done since day one is fight to weasel his way out of his self-inflicted predicament first by trying the excuse “I don’t know why I said that,” then by alleging the phrasing meant something else, then by blaming his explicit orders to procure prostitutes on autocorrect. Man, I hate it when I message my friends to ask them how it's going and my pesky phone changes the text to send your best sex workers, don't you?
And thanks for the compliment on the edit! It was a challenge for sure, but a fun one. I know it isn't perfect but I'm pretty pleased with it nonetheless... not only because 4BANG, duh, but also because there's no gap anymore. No empty space in the middle, no distance between them. In this updated version their hands are tightly interlocked, skin to skin, closer than before. And as far as messages of unity go, with its extra close-knit quality I find this new design more intimate, more intense, and more compelling than the original... if I do say so myself lol

So not only did this make my day because it’s the height of hilarity (especially the part where it was reported that he showed up in court with a “dark look” on his face and sighed when his brand spanking new charge was read aloud to the room -- yes, hello schadenfreude, old friend), it got me thinking. Of course it did. Our very own neverending k-drama playing out in real time right before our eyes. Also I think he took his son of a mafia boss role in High & Low too seriously, y/y? No wonder he didn’t like SunDae poking fun at it all those years ago (2016 was it? I distinctly remember his fans bitching about it). Simulated organized crime is serious business don’t you know! Especially when it’s based on real life events and isn’t so simulated after all!
All joking aside, it’s no wonder BB were so wary of him in their last years together. Since we now know he regularly gave his time, attention, and friendship to people who were not only 1) sexual predators and 2) well-connected in the sex trade but also 3) had ties to gangs? Talk about endangerment, and that’s not an overstatement. Well, we don’t know what they knew, but if they didn’t know then, they definitely know now.
Here’s why this bothers me so. Imagine, if you will, if something like this had happened while he was out with his bandmates. Drinking, clubbing, whatever. Gets into an altercation with another customer. Things escalate and before you know it, multiple people are involved. He contacts his friend, enraged (according to reports), and said friend sends backup from outside the establishment in the form of a freaking gang member who takes the victims out back and roughs ‘em up a bit, puts some fear into them for making what sounds like an honest mistake. Completely unnecessary and excessive. Seungri's inflated sense of self-importance strikes again. Now (at best, assuming things don’t turn truly ugly and end in injury) all of BB are associated with violence and gang activity and have to bend over backwards and pour out apologies for the dangerous actions of their drunken bandmate and his dodgy connections.
The more that surfaces about his off-the-clock activities I’m glad he rarely spent time with BB outside of work. And in hindsight I bet BB are too.
Another matter of interest: this shows that prosecutors are still actively investigating him, still pursuing him, even as he’s on trial for other offenses, nearly 2 years after this all began. In this case, probably because it’s under military jurisdiction, we don’t know the content of the chat or the exact wording of this exchange, don’t know what Seungri said to Yoo Insuk that led to Yoo sending “help,” but evidently, authorities believe it’s enough to formally charge him with collusion. This isn’t “we’re investigating,” this is “we’ve investigated and believe we have reason to indict.” This means they’ve likely studied the chat, examined CCTV footage, identified the people involved, secured testimony from victims and witnesses... and decided he needs to be held responsible.
But I’m sure he’s going to pull some bullshit excuse out of his ass as he does everything in his power to dodge that pesky R-word as always.
If nothing else, I hope this, all of this, opens his eyes to the unpleasant reality before him: that this is how it’s going to be from now on and it will only get worse if he is ever brazen enough to attempt a return to the public eye as an entertainer. His every move scrutinized like never before (and that’s saying something considering how everyone is always on BB’s ass), no stone left unturned, no free passes. He can’t count on getting by on celebrity worship because there’s none left. No love, no leniency. Not anymore.

Seungri having a 4th trial... how many do you think he’ll have lol. This is just getting old anymore having these trials to get no where still with his case. He needs to be a big boy and just admit it all. He has nothing left of him to save.
Oh, this is not even close to being done. The prosecution has applied to call 22 witnesses to testify against him for his various charges, with witness questioning to take place weekly until mid-December. Last week's hearing was the first of these. Putting aside his obvious attempt to side with Seungri (the Burning Sun squad's still tight I see), Kim was expected to speak out against him because that's what he did in the police interrogation last year. Not sure his abrupt about-face, his excuse being he was tired and didn't mean it, did anyone any real favors. Jung Joon Young and Yoo Insuk were supposed to attend as well but were able to excuse themselves at the last minute. They'll be questioned in December.
When witness questioning is over I expect that's when the prosecution will compile the evidence they have and argue their case, attempting to prove his guilt beyond a doubt. There's no telling how many more hearings that will take but I think it's safe to say it will be no small number. It's been reported that the trial will be divided into 3 major parts beginning with prostitution (for himself) and prostitution mediation (for others).
So yeah, I mean it when I say this is nowhere near over.

We love to see sr’s new found amnesia. “I don’t know? I don’t remember?” Funny because didn’t he admit to some of this last year right? Suddenly he doesn’t know or remember what he did? He’s so shameless it’s disgusting. I don’t know why his fans root for him, even if the Korean justice system fails he’s not coming back to BB. He doesn’t have a career or a reputation anymore. No one is going to want him around or want his business so he’s ruined either way lmao.
He knows it doesn’t matter what he says or how he changes his story, as long as he denies the charges and superficially maintains his “innocence” he will always have gullible fans willing to believe him, buy into his lies, and back him up. For a year and half now they’ve been loud and proud about their naivety, and like his circle of friends with the women they assaulted and exploited without remorse, he is signaling that he intends to take full advantage of that trust. Has been ever since he made the decision last year to get out and give interviews while a high-profile suspect in an active criminal investigation. “Shameless” doesn’t begin to describe this guy. He’s a self-absorbed, dishonest, manipulative piece of shit and he’s doing a phenomenal job of making sure no one ever forgets it.
Get a load of this: a more detailed report of his lawyer’s statements at yesterday’s hearing. So as it turns out, he is being charged for the Club Arena case. I.e., for aiding in mediating prostitution for his and Yoo’s investors from Taiwan. Check out this defense.
The recipients of the prostitution mediation, the men from Taiwan, haven’t been named by the prosecution, therefore, “I don’t know these men, how could I have mediated prostitution for someone I don’t know?” As if he isn’t on record in the chats instructing his lackeys, Yoo Insuk and Mr. Kim, to prepare a place, call the girls, and “do a good job” for their guests! Clearly, not knowing their names did not stop him from making sure they were shown a good time by his associates per his orders.
As a side note, regarding the men not being identified, it was said last year that police had made multiple attempts to contact Madam Lin and her associates, the suspected recipients of Seungri & Co’s “hospitality” that night, and were even trying to involve Taiwanese authorities in the investigation, but they were having trouble getting a response (no surprise there, Madam Lin is suspected of having ties to organized crime). Sounds like their attempts to reach her and whoever she brought with her to Korea that night were unsuccessful in the end, and they never got names for the “Taiwanese gangsters” as Seungri’s friends called them.
It’s right there in the chats: Seungri directed them to call women, and call women is what they did. Per payment records procured by police, a woman who manages prostitutes was paid for her girls’ services by Yoo Insuk. However, Seungri’s lawyer says this: “How do you assume that they had sex even though you don’t know who they are?” If I’m understanding this right, it appears he’s arguing that because the men who received sexual services that night haven’t been identified (and, presumably, haven’t been questioned), it can’t be confirmed via their testimony that intercourse took place, therefore the charge is invalid. In other words, the act of purchasing prostitutes -- or in Seungri’s case, telling someone to purchase prostitutes -- isn’t enough to charge him with mediating prostitution; he can only be charged if it’s confirmed that the women followed through with their work and sex occurred. Next thing you know they’ll be arguing that they were just paying the women for their “company” 🙄
These are court tactics. This is about digging into the details of a charge with very specific criteria and finding ways around it. Seungri did what he’s been accused of and has asked his lawyer to do anything it takes to get him out of this predicament. Anything to avoid accountability for his mistakes. The burden of proof is on the accuser, the prosecution must prove their case beyond a doubt. All Seungri and his lawyer have to do is poke a few holes in it, then he can scamper back to his slimy chatroom buddies (when they get out of prison in a few years, that is), immoral to the core but blameless in the eyes of the law.

This is somewhat old news at this point, 2 months old to be exact, I’ve just been lazy about sharing it here. An interesting tidbit from Yoo Insuk’s trial on June 22nd regarding his and Seungri’s shared prostitution mediation charges – this statement from one of the two brokers whose services he and Seungri utilized for themselves and their rich clients.
“for the purpose of helping Lee Seunghyun (Seungri) and Yoo Insuk because of her close relationship with them”
Hmm, what could have possibly led to two men having a “close relationship” with a prostitution broker? Perhaps a long and seedy history of employing her girls’ services? During the investigation last year police found that Seungri and Yoo had connections with an entertainment establishment in Gangnam and would call girls over whenever needed.
Whenever needed. There’s your “necessary for business” part at the end. Not necessary for her business, as she claims her motive was not profit; it was considered necessary for theirs. She did it to help them grow their business. Let me remind you this is as reporter Kang Kyung Yoon suspected all along. It was the first of the chat logs to be released, and the first accusation made back in February 2019: that together, these two arranged sexual services for their foreign investors in order to secure funding for their company Yuri Holdings. And the rest, as they say, is history.

I have a very basic question about sr. You're free to ignore it since I'm sure you're exhausted with it too. It's just that I saw you trying to discuss it with his stans on twitter so I wanted to ask. The vid that JJY sent, SR responded with "was it taken in the salon?"...what does that mean? Does it not show he knew it wasn't a random clip of internet porn but filmed someplace he knew such filming was happening? I've never seen anyone address this. What exactly do those words mean?
I can’t believe I’m talking about this again 😭
To lay it out real quick, at this time we have three instances of SR receiving illegally filmed footage in a chatroom. From 1) Burning Sun employee Mr. Kim, reported in March 2019, 2) JJY, filmed at a hotel in Taiwan, revealed in JJY’s court ruling in November 2019, and 3) someone labeled “C”, supposedly taken at a room salon if SR’s reply is anything to go by.
“Was it taken in the salon?” Or as I’ve also seen it translated, “What idiot fucking uploaded a video taken at a room salon,” to which C replied, “We don’t upload because we know we shouldn’t…”
First of all, this incident does show him scolding them for sharing the footage… but not for filming it. It wasn’t presented in a favorable light, which is why it’s odd to see people using it to defend him. Some of his supporters are reluctant to bring it up because all it really does is reinforce what he said in his Chosun interview: that he told them not to because they’d get in trouble. Not because he thought it was wrong. There’s never been a word from him on that.
Back to your question. The prostitute SR solicited for himself worked at a room salon (“adult entertainment establishment”). The prostitutes he and Yoo Insuk hired for their investors also came from room salons in Gangnam (“Using their connections with sources from the establishments, Seungri and Yoo Insuk would call women over when necessary”). I think it’s safe to say SR was familiar with room salons and the illicit services their workers sometimes provide; he’d partaken in them himself, after all. This could explain why he recognized where the footage was taken.
“Does it not show he knew it wasn’t a random clip of internet porn?” – SR absolutely knew these were not “random clips of internet porn.” In the video (and three photos) he was sent by Burning Sun employee Mr. Kim, he identified the man in the video by name. He called him hyung (the name was redacted in reports). It was someone SR knew personally; that defeats the argument that he might have thought it was some random clip off the internet.
Another thing: when interviewed by Chosun Ilbo and asked why he stood around and watched as JJY shared illegal footage in the chats, SR claimed that he “tried to stop them.” He said, “I told them, ‘Don’t do stuff like that, you’ll get in really big trouble.’” The interviewer asked, “Even to JJY?” and SR replied, “Not only to JJY but to everyone.”
To be fair, we don’t know if he knew about the drugging and sexual assault. At the time of this interview no victims had yet come forward about assault. The Chosun interview was published in March; the reports about assault began rolling in the next month, in April. However, at the very least, the evidence we’ve been given coupled with SR’s own words have made it clear that he was aware of his friends’ habit of filming these women w/o consent and disseminating the footage in their shared chats. As for making moves to stop them, all he’s really conveyed to us is that he didn’t want them getting caught.
