“PILSEN PIZZA PARTY”

Yok and Sheryo

Australian born Yok says his art was fueled “by Ren and Stimpy cartoons and skateboarding graphics.” After studying art at Curtin University in Western Australia he longed to do more, and see more, and took his art on the road to Melbourne, Sydney, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Shanghai, New York, Tokyo and London. Brooklyn-based Singaporean artist Sheryo started painting in 2005 with a style “often referencing pulp illustrations, skateboard graphics and her unabashed affinity for kitsch.” As a duo the they have worked extensively around the world were named by Complex Magazine as one of the “10 Street Artists to Watch in 2013.” In April, 2013 the two painted this wall on 16th St. in the Pilsen Neighborhood of Chicago.
