Decided to start planning my week ahead in advance. Make an actual plan.
This starts the week after next.
No fitness plan for next week, with it being our time away on a proper holiday in Morocco.
Still can't fully believe I'm jetting off there the day after tomorrow!
So the schedule is still quite unstructured in terms of specific workouts. But that's not important.
This gives me a rough plan. A certain amount of structure. All I have to do from here is find suitable sessions from whichever app or type of training is on that day's routine.
I've included things from each of my regular apps.
Included in my weekly diary is a good amount of pilates and yoga training. I want to try push that up a bit. So for my first week plan, I've got two yoga and three pilates.
My cardio will come from my cycling, one long walk, plus there will be plenty during some of the different workouts and my own classes.
I like having a plan. I like structure. I think this is a really good thing for me to try.

5/1/24: Rabbit Rabbit People (It's May 1). Leaving for Madrid tomorrow, to meet Mari at the airport and fly with her to Morocco!! So exciting, and makes it a tad easier to leave our comfy home here in Aix. I've enjoyed the concept of staying in one place to feel more like a local, take day trips, etc. But I actually think I'm ready to move on. I love this house, it's set up with such style and comfort, but I'm just ready to see more! If we were really staying for awhile, say 3-6 months, I might have tried a French Yoga class (here they just call it Yoga), or looked for a pottery studio or something. For 2.5 weeks, it's still mostly about getting out and seeing the sights. I feel like we were able to see a lot, plenty of legit getup-and-go hikes and walks and shopping around the region of Provence: Cassis, Calanques, Avignon, Rousillon, Mont-Sainte-Victoire, Marseille, and lots of little pit stops in an around the main villages. It rained on and off last few days, and we rearranged our plans around the weather. Today was the rainiest day, when we took a pic in front of the Fountaine Rotunde. Claude's favorite meal was the excellent fresh fish at Grand Bleu in Cassis. Let's see, what else? I think we tried at least 5 different boulangeries and pâtisseries. I loved La Fournaise the best I think for the cool looking olive bread, but Bechard had best sweet treats. There was also "the guy around the corner" who always had a couple decent croissants left for us, no matter how late we woke up that morning; there was the big Boulangerie on the main road out of town, which was handy on travel days; Paul (like highway patisserie, which we first discovered in Japan!!?); Weibel Pâtisserie is overrated as far as we are concerned, too famous and tourist machine-y! Local bio place, Lopin de Robin, a tiny shop in our neighborhood, where Robin himself gave us an extra chèvre au herbs de provence, and some nice dark chocolate made with Equadoran cacao and tiny crunchies, mmmmm. Let's not forget the Nespresso store that we passed through too many times (we had guests!) Plus they taught me that coffee is better with a little square of chocolate dropped in...
Not that it was ALL about the food and croissants and pastry, we also slept.

i love girls month ; nineteenth day.
synopsis: You worked a bit longer in school than Irina, and when the young English teacher started teaching in the 3-E class, you immediately got in touch; both as teachers and young, ambitious persons. As time passed, you got close enough that you started spending time in the city together every week – usually in bars, at noisy parties, and in various restaurants. That evening it was like that as well.
# tags: scenario; friendship; adult!reader & teacher!reader; karaoke!au; alcohol; is koro-sensei following us?; comedy; fluff; sfw
includes: gender neutral reader ft. irina jalavić {assclass}
“Cause you’re hot then you’re cold, you’re yes then you’re no, you’re in then you’re out, you’re up then you’re down...!” You sang out loud, smiling happily, though your eyesight seemed a little hazy.
“You’re wrong when it’s right, it’s black and it’s white! We fight, we break up, we kiss, we make up!” Immediately after you, Irina laughed, hitting the beat perfectly so you both could score a lot of points.
It was another Friday in a row and you could relax with a few sweet drinks, salty snacks and of course a karaoke microphone. Meanwhile, you talked about your students, your work, potential victims, and even your families, your financial or heart problems. It was your time and you wanted to make the best of it.
After finishing another funky song, you both sat on the soft leather couch and reached for your drinks; you your mojito, your friend her margarita.
“I love weekends. All for me, yummy.” You tilted your head back contentedly as you took a sip of the alcoholic drink again. The pleasant aftertaste of mint and lime filled your mouth and you licked your upper lip with your tongue. “We must go somewhere longer during the holidays. I would like to see Hawaii or Morocco.” You added with a smile, and the blonde woman nodded.
“Or Greece!”
“Yes, or Greece.” You dreamed of the warm sun, sandy beaches and beautiful views from the balcony.
You talked for a short while until you heard a knock on your private karaoke room. Of course, you invited the person on the other side of the door, hoping it was free drinks or some warm appetizer. Unfortunately, instead, you saw a very familiar – though at the moment somewhat disguised as a woman – face.
Immediately your own faces became serious, but also puzzled a little bit.
“I brought some desserts for you two~.” You heard Koro-Sensei’s slightly squeaky voice (or rather the waitress lady who was holding two cups on a black tray filled with ice cream, fruit and whipped cream).
You and Irina looked at each other and then you smiled at the yellow octopus.
“Thank you very much.” The blonde one said for the two of you, and you nodded your head, also thanking for a tasty looking dessert.
‘Ah shit, here we go again...’ You were thinking at the same time, remembering Koro-Sensei’s previous and numerous visits in every possible disguise; salesman in a manga shop, a bartender in a club, a personal trainer in a yoga class, and a taxi driver.
But well... at least you got free desserts.
previous day ; hange zoe from attack on titan ♡ next day ; kokomi teruhashi, mikoto aiura and kusuo saiki from the disastrous life of saiki k.

things you miss from your past: Having more freedom to make mistakes; not having to worry about the future; and friends I’ve since lost.
people who have really hurt you in the past: Gabie, my mom, Marielle.
names of people you have had crushes on: Gabie, Andi from 5th grade...and that’s it, really.

people you would like to meet: Ysa and Bea, my teammates at work. I’ve met them only once before, and I wish we can be allowed to report to the workplace physically soon so that I get to see them more often and strengthen my relationship (both working and personal) with them. I’d also love to be able to chat and chill with Hayley Williams even for just 30 seconds.
people you want to meet in Heaven: I don’t believe in that, but I’d love to have met my great-grandfather on my maternal grandfather’s side. Also, Audrey Hepburn and Princess Diana.
good names for a dog or cat: Depends on their personality.
reasons why you get up each morning and keep on living: Because I’ve been able to see myself get better, and why stop all the progress?; because I’d want to be able see if the future will get better; and because I’m afraid of what will happen to/who will look out for my dogs if I’m suddenly gone.
For each name, think of three people you know with that name, and list their occupations.
Amanda: I only know one Amanda, and she’s a friend of my ex’s younger sister. She’s only in senior year of high school. I know an Amandine which is close enough I suppose?? and she’s a dentistry student.
Sarah: She’s a media contact and I’m constantly in touch with; she’s the editor-in-chief of a local magazine. I think she’s the only Sarah I know.
Ashley: Also a media contact. I’m not sure about her title, though.
Beth: @bionic-beth is a teacher! :) But I don’t know any Beths in real life, I think.
Katie: Well I know Kate, and I’ll sometimes playfully call her Katie. She works in a government agency and she’s one of their PR people. The HR person who recruited me to come work at my current employer is a Kate, but I have never and have no plans to call her Katie.
Matt: That’s too foreign-sounding a name where I live.
Emily: Don’t know any Emilys, either.
Chris: Media contacts. They run blogs or news sites of their own.
Mike/Michael: The one Mike I know is currently a med student. Not sure if he’s working on the side - I think he is, since I saw him post about a job update on his Facebook a few months ago; but I can no longer remember what he does, or if he’s still doing it.
Jessica: I went to high school with a girl named Jessica but I don’t follow her on social media, so I have no clue what she’s up to now.
Becca/Bekah: Rita’s sister is a Becca. I think she is currently a grad student.
For each name, think of three people you know, and list one adjective to describe each person. (Skip if you don't know anyone with that name.)

tall people: Jo, Chesca, and Shaun.

make you laugh: Andi, Hans, and this girl I had a couple of history classes with, Rose.

jobs you've considered having: ^ Again, lawyer and doctor. Also a journalist or news anchor, back when I still thought I was passionate about journalism.
jobs you'd hate: Journalist, an LTO clerk, an assistant to an asshole celebrity.
things you miss: Being a student, many parts of the past, and deceased family members.
names your mom considered when naming you: Ariel, Kathleen, Katrina.
things people call you: Robyn, Byn, Bynbyn.
*Bonus*: what is your name? (first and middle)? I always feel like just sharing Robyn.

Self-Care Sunday: OCL Staff on How They De-Stress in Isolation
Sunday’s here again and today we’re checking in with our staff at the Oberlin College Libraries to see how they’ve been managing stress during the pandemic. Let’s see what they have to say!
One thing we heard over and over is that our library staff loves food! Cooking and baking is a great way to relax and unwind. Outreach and Programming Librarian Eboni told us she’s been baking “A LOT”, while Facilities and Operations Assistant Bill says that eating healthy is what keeps him feeling great. And if you’re looking for culinary inspiration, why not pop over to the Bon Appétit YouTube channel? They have lots of great videos and, did you know? One of their hosts, Chris Morocco, is an Obie? Class of 2003!
Another big recommendation from our staff is exercise (Perhaps to burn off all the calories from that delicious home cooking). Daily walks are a must for many staff members, especially those with dogs (And, hey, at least our pets are happy we’re in isolation!). Science Librarian Alison suggests walking near water and woods, if you can, to enjoy the spring flowers and bird songs. And we have quite a few practicing yogis in our group. Art Librarian Barb recommends the app Down Dog, which is free until May 1st, for solo workouts. Or, if you’d like some one-on-one time with our very own resident yoga instructor, Head of DMS Tim (RYT-200 certified) is offering to give Obies freebie advice and classes while we’re all stuck at home. A big thank you to Tim for such a generous offer! (Contact Tim at [email protected])
Well, if all that working out has got you tired, we have some folk who have great advice for keeping you entertained. Preparations Assistant Patty recommends the newest Animal Crossing game. She says “It helps me to relax and even allows me to connect online with others in my family that I can't see in person. It is basically a peaceful game until the tarantulas show up (which doesn't happen often).” Meanwhile, Science Library assistant Jennifer prefers old-school gaming. She finds it “helpful to plan special events at home during all of this - formal dinner night, game night, poker tournament, etc. Put it on our calendar, and make it something to look forward to.”
Of course, we wouldn’t be a library if we didn’t have knitters on staff! Outreach and Programming Librarian Eboni and catalogers Lindsey and Faith all listed knitting as a favorite way to unwind. Lindsey recommends getting a Ravelry account if you don’t have one already! And if yarn isn’t your thing, Reserves and Media Manager Michael suggests stamp collecting, and Information Literacy and Student Success Librarian Alonso recommends making art. He enjoys drawing, sketching, and coloring. Science Library assistant Jennifer also enjoys drawing and coloring, but she prefers to do it digitally.... She suggests downloading paint by number apps!
As you might expect, binge watching Netflix is high on the list of ways to relax (and all the other streaming services, of course! HBO is actually offering a bunch of free movies and shows until the end of April). Multiple people suggested rewatching all of the Lord of the Rings movies. Sounds like we have some Tolkien fans at OCL!
Other great advice includes watching livestreams of your favorite musicians or taking an online course. Music cataloger Faith says she’s been “taking dance classes through the Beck Center at Home classes! They are free!” Follow #BeckatHome on Instagram or Facebook to see what they’re offering.
We also have quite a few Buddhists on staff who say their faith is helping during this time at home. Conservatory Public Services Librarian Kathy finds Buddhism, along with a good laugh, is what she needs- “I've been looking for more humor. Being a Buddhist, I have really been enjoying the FB group Buddhist Humor. It's fabulous!!”
With that, we’ll leave you with a few more words of wisdom from the OCL staff. We hope our advice, tips, and suggestions have been helpful! From our homes to yours, we hope you are all safe, happy, and healthy!
“Staying on a ‘normal’ schedule seems to be the best way to handle stress for me. I also enjoy napping, reading, spending time with my family. It’s so nice to have time together without our regular activities.”-- Sara, Cataloging and Metadata Assistant
“Remember that, while things could still get worse, everything always changes. Eventually the situation we're all in now won't be the same. Take it one day at a time. Do things you enjoy, take time to avoid news outlets, and relax.”--Tim, Head of Discovery and Metadata Services
“Being grateful for simple things like waking up to another day, naturally occurring timeless awareness, giving and receiving love with other sentient beings. Singing. Making any old music from scratch.”--Facilities and Operations Assistant, Bill
