Hey did anyone else have a teacher who badly misinterpreted the messages of a classic book they were trying to teach? I had a teacher in highschool who had us read Fahrenheit 451 and when we got to the part where the main characters wife was shown to constantly be wearing headphones and drowning out most of her life, he made a huge fuss in making us interpret that as being exactly the same as us teens wearing our headphones all the time and it still lives in my head rent free

How Homestuck Beyond Canon Candy Timeline has/will have parallels with Homestuck proper around and during the events of [S] Game Over

Jane Crocker heavily aligned/influenced by with Crocker Corp. Notice how her neck accessory looks very similar to the Crocker computer tiara. There's also the circuits surrounding the button, which are reminiscent of Crockertier Jane's visual mind control effect by The Condesce.

Jane also kind of looks like The Condesce with how she's silhouetted here.

The head of Crocker Corporation on a large Crocker space ship. A ship which I would like to point out looks eerily similar to the ship that The Condesce flies around in except the forks/sporks are facing the opposite direction and it's got black on it instead of mostly red.

Jake dying at the hands of Crocker influenced Jane and coming back to life parallels with this Jane coming close to killing Jake, but stopping right before death. Same green text too.

The cast of characters surrounding this time in the comic are also similar.

We also got the whole Crocker laser beam of death being hinted at which we've absolutely seen before.

I talked about this in one of my previous theories, Jake is getting a better grasp of his hope powers; so, I think we could see another hope explosion again in some capacity out of Jake's concern for Tavvy.

I could also totally see Jake being held hostage by one of the Crocker Clones A.K.A. the Brig Boys and Kanaya cutting them up with her chainsaw (hopefully avoiding Jake).

This is more of a little side detail, but Vriska is once again on the sidelines while this massive important fight takes place because she's trapped in her own personal Hell this time.

CHARACTER DEATH FLAGS - I don't know how to organize this post and there was a lot more potential evidence to this than I thought there was going into it.

Let me preface this with the fact that the existential split between Meat and Candy sometimes seems to try to course correct itself and much like certain peoples DNIs, it doesn't want any doubles. We see this with Dirk, Dave (he died even if he ascended to ultimate self afterwards), June/J/John, Terezi(seemingly), Meenah (her other self is in the black hole with Lord English so we can't necessarily confirm death but yknow), Aradia (is just Aradia), Gamzee, Calliope (that is a whole complex situation), and Rose (if her future sight is correct, but we'll get to that). Those are the only examples I can think of at this time, but it's absolutely a repeating pattern of the universe sort of course-correcting to have only one of each of our main characters exist at a time. This, at least in the cases of Dirk, Dave, & Rose seems to be related to the ascension to ultimate self, but we can't really say if that's why the other characters only get one existence at this time.

Karkat has has at least 2 deaths from around this time, one involving Crockertier Jane as well which could be a sign of things to come.

Rose's death flag is that she has literally foreseen her death in her future sight. She is thinking about Kanaya and Roxy in the same thought process while seeing her own death, feeling full of regret (even though she's trying to repress her own feelings) about her relationship to Roxy and Kanaya. Very similar to her being regretful as she was dying in Roxy's arms. I'm also guessing the bullet that hits her will be from Jake's gun, just throwing that out as a possibility.

ROSE: What... ROSE: Happened to me? ROXY: the witch got u ROXY: with her fork ROXY: but youre gonna be ok ROSE: Oh. ROSE: That's nice. ROSE: *Cough.* ROXY: maybe you uh ROXY: shouldnt try to talk now ROSE: You saved me, didn't you? ROXY: ... ROSE: Thanks. ROSE: But, ROSE: She's gone, isn't she. ROSE: For good, I mean. ROXY: ? ROSE: I saw her die. ROSE: And. ROSE: It's a shame how... ROSE: *Cough.* ROSE: A shame that I never even... ROSE: Got to tell her... ROSE: I loved her. ROXY: who?

ROSE: Kanaya. ROSE: But... ROSE: You too, mom.

Kanaya also has a death flag here in getting hit by The Condesce's laser beam of death, but it's more of a maybe given that we see Rose's future vision of Kanaya holding her body in her arms. Keep in mind though we also had this bit of dialogue about the reliability of future sight right before we saw that vision.

JADE: dont forget im more than a little versed in future sight myself ok JADE: i dont care how credible it seems, you cant depend on that information!

Jake and Jane are also on the chopping block potentially, but I can't think of a way at this time, unless Kanaya mistakes Jake for one of the clones amidst her rage and ends up cutting through him along with the Crocker clones. The one pictured below was done by Aranea who is out of the story. Maybe Meenah's trident hits Jake somehow or something, I don't know. We also have meat Jake and Jane who are doing more okay.

On top of the parallels to the doomed timeline that was [S] Game Over, we also had Vriska say that this reality was fake and didn't matter. I'm paraphrasing and I don't know if we'll get a doomed timeline situation yet with the 4 kids still in it, but I just thought the amount of parallels was interesting & worth pointing out.

I also wanted to get this out before the next update in case it's related to the flash animation and any of my predictions come true.

Alternatively I think the flash animation will be Ultimate Dirk kick starting his SBURB home brew session on Deltritus. He probably has all the tech and narrative powers to do it based on what we've seen, they just need a species they'll both be satisfied with as the players for the session.

One of the things that's always fascinated me abt Vivzie as an artist is how her artstyle has almost “regressed” over the past like 10 years.

Like lets take Helluva Boss for example. Every character, be they imp, demon, hellhound or otherwise, all follows the same basic template for their specific race.

this is made painfully obvious with the introduction of this design in the most recent episode, which is supposed to be Beelzebub, a deity usually associated with flies/insects (I bold “usually” because while yes people usually associate Beelzebub with flies, this is because their title/description is being the “Lord of the Flyers”, which people usually see as “Lord of the Flies” So technically Bee doesn't even need to be a fly, she just needs to fly)

Now normally that wouldn't really matter, creative freedom in stories with inspiration from mythology/religion is what makes them interesting. But what FASCINATES me about HBs depiction of Beelzebub specifically is that Viv already went through the trouble of designing the Gluttony layer to have a hive/bee aesthetic, which makes the whiplash of seeing Bees design so much more severe, because you see the hive designs and honeycombs and go “Oh! they’re gonna make her a bee, yknow like BEElzebub, that's interesting” but then nope, just a 4 armed hellhound

And the fact that the layer seems to have been specially designed with insects in mind begs the question of why the fuck even bother making her just a 4 armed hellhound, you already were halfway there because you had enough foresight to give her 4 arms why not just, yk, make her a fucking bee, or a wasp, anything that ISNT just a 4 armed hellhound is my point

And like...have yall seen Vivs old artstyle?? That shit lowkey oozed character. Like just look at this comparison here, the ones on the left are from before Hazbin (to give a specific date, you're looking at around the range of 2013-2017, Proto-Charlie and Proto-Vaggie I know are from at LEAST 2013), the ones on the right are from the recent redesigns for the A24 pilot

Now am I saying that ALL of the old designs are better than the new ones? No, I still prefer the new Cherri and Pentious over their old designs. the point I’m trying to illustrate here is how interesting it is to me how much Vivs style as gotten noticeably less “unique” over the past few years

So obviously it’d be Osaka but I’d like to entertain the idea that it’d be tomo. She gets lost on the school trip and gets deserted in the jungle. Worst part is no one notices until they’re all back home. “Yknow, everything feels so peaceful right now! I wonder what changed?..”

Here’s the Osaka version: they all graduate and go to university and stuff and Osaka tries but drops out like a month in. She starts a part time minimum wage job but also does odd jobs on the side. These odd jobs tend to be Really odd though and everyone’s mildly concerned when she talks about it. Then one day she just disappears and no one ever sees her again. This is entirely unrelated to the odd jobs, she accidentally boarded a cargo ship and gets sent to Costa Rica. The crew discovers her on the ship and she doesn’t have the money to pay for the voyage so she has to work for them. This sparks her new life of being a wandering vagrant. She returns to japan when she’s old and chiyo is her assistant nurse

A little disclaimer! This story takes place in 1945ish when the big 3 gods made the pact to not have anymore children. The main reason for that in the pjo books was because the big 3 children essentially started ww2, however, because of the problematic implications of that (especially with yknow who being stated to be a Hades kid) I am slightly changing that plot. In this au, the reason the big 3 made the pact was because 1. their children are powerful and dangerous, however, they did not start the war. And 2. three kids of the Big Three saw the war as an opportunity to try and take over Olympus. This was the breaking point for the gods, so they decided to make that pact and get rid of any demigod who could pose as a threat. (yknow who is not a Hades child in this. Neither are the other world leaders involved in the war. The big 3 kids who were mentioned are just random people/OCS?).

it depends but i actually don’t think i do. i randomly lie tho or say the opposite of what i mean just to be contrary but people are always saying i’m predictable when i do that. “can i have a spoon” “no” but i get the spoon anyway bc i’m difficult. subverting expectations keeps people on their toes AND me bc i never know what i’m gonna say until it tumbles outta my mouth

hair eyes mouth the way they speak. really tells you a lot about a person

hazel. brown with some green. looks cool always but Cool in certain lighting. not to flex but i’ve had people ask if i wear color contacts

happy endings!!!! i have a weak heart and the only thing holding it together is stitches of hope

i can open any twisty lid on a jar, cup, bottle etc. without a rubber thing in one or two tries. i’m so good at it. i can also drink a lot without throwing up.

anything english/literature. i impressed a student teacher in sophomore year for answering a “fate or free will” question with a super smart and thoughtful answer and used anecdotes like greek tragedies, oedipus and that one quote from jane eyre “your will shall decide your destiny” and the final destination franchise, then unimpressed him when we started the lord of the flies unit by saying i would rather just die than trying to survive in the wild. my essays always slapped.

the waves by virginia woolf finally a book that isnt gay JUST KIDDING it is in fact also a lil gay but mostly it's just fucking beautiful. possibly the most beautiful novel i've ever read idk, hard to say and its not a quick read but like. read it for the first time in high school and have returned to it a number of times since then and. her prose my GOD. its a novel but also a poem, just a very long love poem to .... everything ....

fun home by alison bechdel technically it's a gRapHiC nOvEL and i only read it for the first time about a year ago but. have reread it since and it continues to haunt me istg this memoir is STUNNING the most gorgeous graphic novel & most gorgeous memoir i have ever ever encountered. an actually brilliant piece of literature in every right. makes me sob. (also, yes, it is very gay.)

lolita by vladimir nabokov all right well honestly i read this for the first time in high school and enjoyed it, especially part one, thought it was smart n funny n that part two was kinda all over the place but still yknow overall felt positively about it. BUT. gave it a reread last year and jesus CHRIST i was just like !! i missed SO much !! it is not only so goddamn beautiful but SO much more complex and brilliant than i ever picked up on as a teenager my god. the prose is like the most intricate beautiful renaissance painting and the plot is like the most infuriatingly complicated game of CHESS but. it's ?? the product of a genuinely brilliant mind ?? idek but i will probably read this book at least five more times before i die its just. wow.
