"nothing  —  i  could've  handled  it  myself."  yisoo  sighs,  her  pride  standing  in  the  way  of  expressing  her  gratitude  for  his  unrequested  display  of  chivalry.  "i  just  don't  want  you  to  get  hurt  because  of  me."  she  adds,  her  voice  laced  with  a  concern  that  feels  perilously  familiar.

"really,  you're  telling  me  no  one  has  ever  asked  before?"  yisoo  asks  with  amusement,  the  lightheartedness  of  the  shift  in  conversation  somewhat  unexpected.  "because  it's  not  your  problem  anymore."  she  isn't.  "but  you're  just  as  reckless  as  you've  always  been."  her  words  almost  sound  fond,  if  it's  not  for  the  frown  etched  to  her  brows.  "anyway,  i  guess  i  should  be  the  one  to  say  sorry  for  ruining  your  friday  night."  technically,  that  lousy  guy  did,  but  alaric  is  now  caught  up  in  her  mess.

"I doubt anyone would want me to model for them even before all of this." He gestures to his face. He's going to be a good patient and sit still. He won't even complain about the stinging from the sanitizing. "You keep saying that." He comments, looking at her. "Why shouldn't I have?"

"thank  god  you're  not  a  model  scheduled  for  a  photoshoot."  though  she  would  admit  that  she  almost  mistook  him  for  one  at  the  beginning.  thankfully,  she  manages  to  get  the  first  aid  kit  from  the  owner  soon  enough  and  has  tugged  him  away  to  a  quieter  corner  before  she  begins  tending  to  his  wounds.  "it's  not  too  bad."  she  reassures  him  as  she  sanitises  his  cut  with  a  gauze,  her  touch  precise  and  careful.  "you  really  shouldn't  have  done  that,  though."  her  point  still  stands.

"Am I? I hadn't noticed." He should likely take some time to look himself over. He's lucky that he's not the one being photographed at his job. He does the photography. Otherwise, being bleeding and beat up would really wreck his employment opportunities. "I'll wait right here."

"your  judgement  wasn't  always  accurate,  so."  alternatively,  yisoo  can  simply  swallow  her  pride  and  thank  him  for  his  assistance,  but  her  stubbornness  is  keeping  her  from  doing  what  is  right.  "you're  bleeding,  actually."  concern  darkens  her  eyes  when  she  notices  the  cut,  and  a  pang  of  guilt  flickers  in  her  expression.  "wait  here,  i'll  go  and  get  a  first  aid  kit."

"It didn't seem to me that you had it under control." He knows they aren't exactly together anymore. But that doesn't mean that he's about to walk by when someone's in need. "Don't worry about me. I can take care of myself. I have been for a long time. Are you certain that you're alright?"
