It was a Wednesday night and you weren’t supposed to be going out. You were desperately trying to get some studying done but you couldn’t focus. You also had a 9 am bio lab the next morning but you really needed to get your mind off of him. The sound of the clock ticking overwhelms you as you sit back on your chair. Your face drops onto your pile of notes as you let out a frustrated groan. You can still smell the faint scent of his Marc Jacobs perfume when you close your eyes. You know exactly what you have to do. Find somebody new and forget about him. However, that’s easier said than done.

You fell for him for reasons you couldn’t really articulate. Everyone knew what they liked about him. His smile, his good looks, his piercing gaze when he would perform at school talent shows. Yet you never really knew what it was that attracted you to him. Much of it seemed unconscious. Your eyes would gravitate towards him whenever he walked into class. The smile on his face made it easy to trust him. Even without speaking he was loud, like snare drums and cymbals. You and Hyunsuk were very much like fire and water. He was passionate and caring, everything a lover would want. You were the conductor to this heat.

Dating him the summer before college was probably the worst decision you had made. There was just not enough time and yet way too much time. Enough time for you to completely and utterly fall in love with Choi Hyunsuk. Your relationship was full of longing gazes, whispered ‘i love you’s’ and pillow talk. It was also full of 2 am calls, wine drunk nights dancing on his dining table and crying about college rejection letters together. Sometimes you thought your love was too intense for two immature 19-year-olds.

You knew you needed him but sometimes you felt undeserving of his love. It was vibrant and grand, something you had never experienced before. You were used to waking up in tears because in your dreams he didn’t want to be with you. You felt like a chore to him. And yet you went back to him every single day, pretending everything was fine. He poured so much love into you it was almost disarming. The first night you fell into his bed you knew it was the last time you would have your guard up. He held you like a delicate flower like you were the last being on earth and it really seemed like it. Even just cuddling with him felt oddly intimate and private. He made you feel like you were the entire world and more.

The last night you saw him you ran from his house, hoping to run away from the same feelings that were still haunting you. You had both said some pretty harsh words to each other. After all, saying goodbye is never easy. Hyunsuk was going to a performing arts college across the country while you were pursuing your dream of becoming a marine biologist in a college not far from your hometown. You were resentful towards him because he was leaving. But what hurt you, even more, was the possibility of you becoming a symbol of what he was leaving behind. The monotonous life he was running away from to chase his dreams.

You never imagined cutting ties with him would be so complicated.

You drive around town for a while, your mind empty. The top of your car was down and the wind was blowing through your hair.

The neon pink lighting is somehow a comfort to you. Sad and sultry music plays inside the edgy dinner as you munch on your chilly cheese fries, drowning out the sounds of loud and drunk teenagers around you. Your lips stretch out into a smile as you remember the times Hyunsuk had taken you there. It had been your first date spot and eventually your usual hangout spot after school. You would eat fries together, him listening to you complain about your biology teacher while he admired your features. It was hard not to miss that. You try not to pay attention to the couple making out in the seats next to yours, choosing to scroll through your social media instead.

It had only been two weeks. Hyunsuk would be leaving town in 2 days. You play with your phone in one hand, re-reading your conversations with him. The last text he had sent you was ‘It’s okay, I love you’. That’s what sent you over the edge. Tears stream down your face as you continue eating your fries. He had been your first everything. Your first kiss, your first boyfriend, the first person you had slept with.

You felt his presence before you saw him. You turn around slowly, coming face to face with the person you wanted to avoid the most. Choi Hyunsuk. He stood at the entrance in his oversized black blazer, observing you from afar. There’s poetry in the way he moves towards you, looking hesitant yet taking long and bold steps. He bites his cheek, trying to avoid eye contact.

As soon as you looked into his eyes you knew you would say something you might regret later so you chose to stay silent.

‘It’s been a while…’ he mumbles, running his hands through his light brown locks.

The minute you hear his voice you feel yourself crumbling. Why did he have to be here? Why did he have to get your hopes high again?

‘Yeah…’ you nod absentmindedly, staring as he sits down in the seat next to you. You try to put on a smile but realize you look miserable either way.

‘The last few weeks have been exhausting. I don’t want to be your ex. I can’t stop thinking about you. I might lose my mind at this point.’ you sigh, realizing you said exactly what you had been trying to avoid saying. What you had been running from.

His eyelids flicker in surprise as he watches you carefully for a few seconds.

‘You know I’ll always be there for you. There’s a lot of things that are changing right now but my love for you will never change.’ he loops his pinky finger around yours, smiling as his thumb touches yours. You notice that he’s wearing the necklace you had gotten him for his 19th birthday.

‘Are you coming over?’ he asks, inching closer to you.

With those four words, you were back to square one.

‘Okay.’ you nod, already pulling your denim jacket on.

Later that night your heart beats wildly in your chest as Hyunsuk grabs the nape of your neck, kissing you softly.

‘It’s just you and me. Nothing else matters. I got you.’ he whispers, kissing your neck.

‘Thank you.’

‘For what?’ he giggles, placing his hands on your cheeks.

‘For loving me back.’

‘It’s easy.’ he responds, pulling you into a tight hug.

 CHOI HYUNSUK- FOREVER AND ALWAYS

It had been almost half a month since you had seen your boyfriend, Hyunsuk. With Treasure’s upcoming comeback and the award show at the end of the year, Hyunsuk was definitely undergoing a lot of stress. The day before, Jihoon had called you to let you know that Hyunsuk was barely eating or resting and that’s when you decided to surprise him with some food when they were practising.

At present, you were heading towards the YG building along with bags of food, knowing the boys could eat a lot, especially their baby maknae. It wasn’t difficult getting into the building since you were the present CEO’s niece and Jihoon’s best friend. You practically grew up there! Getting on the lift, you texted Hoon-ie that you were coming up.

You met up with him outside the studio where hyunsuk was recording.  Since you did not want to disturb his practice, you stayed out to catch up with Jihoon. And you both spent around an hour while doing so.

See, you and Jihoon had always been super close, so skinship wasn’t an issue with you guys. And while Hyunsuk knew that, he couldn’t help but feel jealous when he saw one of his member’s arm around your shoulder and you hand touching his upper arm. Getting out of the studio, he was elated when he heard your voice and laughter but the smile on his face quickly faded away and a frown took its place on seeing you interact with Jihoon.

He turned back and banged shut the door to his studio which made you two jump and separate from each other. Looking at the shut door, your eyes widened in realization. Muttering an apology to Jihoon you quickly made your way towards the room. Knocking before entering, you slipped in to see Hyunsuk sitting in front of his laptop with a small pout on his face. Slowly, you draped your arms around his neck, leaning down to press your lips against his cheeks.

“Suk-ie, how are you baby?” you questioned, not wanting to instigate the overworked boy anymore.

“why don’t you go ask Jihoon? I’m sure you would love to spend time with him, won’t you?” he muttered.

“Jagi, are you jealous?” you knew it was rude to laugh but a chuckle slipped past your lips when you saw your boyfriend’s pout deepen.

“stop laughing, and no, I’m not jealous. You can go hangout with Jihoon all you want. You don’t even need to waste your time here right now.” He replied back with slight irritation in his voice.

“you know, you’re adorable when your jealous, babe.” You turned his chair around, positioning yourself to sit on his lap, your hands looping around his neck, playing with his hair.

“I’m sorry, princess. I shouldn’t have reacted that way. I know you are close to him, it just made me angry since I hadn’t seen you in so long. I mean, Jihoon is everything I am not, he’s funny, he’s tall and handsome and..” he rambled on, his head hanging low. You lifted his chin up, looking straight into his eyes.

“Hyunsuk-ah, I will never leave you. You are smart, just as handsome, one of the best rappers I know, you have the best fashion sense, you are the best problem solver, the best leader and most importantly the best boyfriend. You will always be my baby. I am with you because you complete me. I have never met anyone who understands me, loves me and supports me like you do. So, never ever doubt yourself baby. I love you so much.”

“I love you, princess. Forever and always?” he asked with watery eyes and a small smile lingering on his pretty lips.

My picks for pdx101 after ep. 7

#1 Cho Seungyoun:  Ok so after the Love Shot performance, homeboy got me whipped. He looked so fine in that suit and his voice was so amazing. His voiced fit the song so well. Lowkey like it more than the original. And he can rap too. Like damn boy what can’t you do.

#2 Yun Junghwan: Ok so I was impressed with his high note during the auditions, but I didn’t look much into him cause I was just gonna support Up10tion and not get attach to other trainees, but that didn’t happen. I got more into him after watching his performance of Got7′s lullaby. I know he didn’t get much lines but he got my attention. I think it was during the part where it’s him and Baekjin in the middle and he does this cute movement. But at least he got to show off his vocals during the Twit performance and he did amazing. I also did expect him to be younger than me.

#3 Baekjin: Now I got into him after “Baekjin time” He did amazing during “baekjin time” I’m still concerned about his back cause that one move looked like it hurt. He also looked cute when he bumped into Junghwan during their center dance together. He also helped Junghwan at the end of their first performance, cause he was limping and holding his leg. Now in ep. 7, he got screen time but mnet also made that evil editing. But then it shows him helping them all out. I know he messed up during the position performance, but he did his best, they all did. I hope knetz still vote for him.

#4 Lee Midam: He has a beautiful voice and has gone through so much. I first saw him when silver boys appeared on stray kids survival show and he sung really well. I didn’t know what happened to him, but I’m upset that Yg didn’t keep them together as a group. Anyways, he has a beautiful voice and I can’t believe knetz aren’t supporting him. He did amazing in The 7th Sense and Twit. Like boy got vocals

#5 Lee Hangyul: So I’ve been supporting Hangyul since the Unit. He is an amazing dancer and he did amazing in the Love Shot performance. He deserves to debut, if you listen to his backstory it’s kinda sad and cute at the same time. He’s also humble and he looks so chill. When he won first place, he was like “I’ve never been first before” and said that it was because of his members. And then when he went along with not being in the center during Finesse dance even tho he was the center, but didn’t say anything until after the trainers said something. Others would have probably been upset and made a scene, but he just went along like ok. He also reminds me of a werewolf. it was after watching his performance of All Day during The Unit. You guys should really go check it out.

#6 Kim Yohan: I was whipped by him since the first episode. I just wanted to see Wooseok and Jinhyuk, but then I spotted this cutie. I know he may not be the most talented, but he seems like a fast learner. He did a great job during Boss. Even tho it was his first time rapping, he did a good job. He also did good in the Me after You performance. And the way he helped the other trainee that was told that he didn’t sing loud enough. Also the man know taekwondo but is afraid of ghost, His reactions was so funny.

#7 Keum Donghyun: Another one that made me stan after the Love Shot performance. I was surprised when I found out how old he is. I was not expecting him to be that young, he doesn’t look that young either. His performance for Believer for the position evaluation was amazing. It was cute seeing him being close with Yunseong. They were the only ones that did the choreo together and were tryng to use both of their ides. I really hope my two babies get to debut together. Also he was the one that danced to Hellevator by Stray Kids for his PR video. My Stay heart is proud.

#8 Choi Suhwan: I was rooting for this boy since the audition. He can sing and dance. He also reminds me of Woozi from Seventeen. He did great during Lullaby and Day by Day performance. He just makes me so soft. The way he jumped onto YuVin when they selected the new center and when he was holding Seungwoo’s hand when they were asking him for help with how to sexily sing Day by Day. 

#9 Song Hyeongjun: This little baby is so cute. I love his curly hair. I started stanning him when he got scolded by the dancer trainers during X1-ma. My poor baby just wanted to be the leader of X level and show that he can dance. But he wasn’t expecting it to be hard to lead the other trainees. When I saw him cry I started crying too. He did good during The 7th Sense and Finesse performance. I also saw the video of him dancing to girl groups and he has some amazing talent for girl group dances.

#10 Hwang Yunseong: I started supporting him after watching how hard he worked during Mama performance. He took on the responsibility of teaching the choreography to the other trainees. He worked so hard and I liked the determination he showed. I fell harder for him after seeing him being all close and cute with Donghyun. And their cute ship name that they made themselves. That’s so cute man. I really hope they get to debut together. 

#11 Kang Seokhwa: I heard my child got did wrong by Yg and I can’t say I’m surprised. He has great vocals too. He did good during Mama and Twit performance. He also reminds me of Lee Know Minho from Stray Kids. My inner Stay will support Lee Know look alike. I hope he gets to debut.

Other trainees I would want to debut: I honestly have so many trainees that I want to debut (in no particular order). This is why I don’t like watching survival shows cause I get attached to too many and get my heart broken. 

Kim Dongbin: I feel bad since he went through this before during season 2. What if he quits being an idol if he doesn’t get to debut.

Lee Hyeop: that high note during Clap got me shook

Kang Hyeonsu: He has a good voice and he can dance. Also he said this is his last chance to become an idol. Every time they say that I think of Jisung from Wanna One and think that pd101 was also his last chance to debut and it just makes me sad. 

Park Sunho: Again I think about Jisung and be like we gave him a chance to fulfill his dream, maybe we can give this man a chance to fulfill his dream as well.

Kim Sungyeon: Another child that was did wrong by Yg. He did good during the rap position performance, even tho he’s not a rapper. I want to get a chance to see him sing, cause he didn’t get to sing much during No More Dream

Nam Donghyun: I just like his voice and he plays the guitar so beautifully.

Lee Jinwoo: who isn’t whipped for Jinwoo and his Haenam. He’s so cute, no wonder JInhyuk adopted him. 

Han Seungwoo: The high note from Boss got me shook. I’m pretty sue he was the asking the other trainees if they wanted to take a shower together. He adopted Dongpyo and becomes soft for him. I might stan Victon just for him.

KIm Wooseok: I know I said that I started watching pdx101 for Up10tion, but after finding out that the group will be active for about 5 years idk if I want my baby to be away for that long. He was already on hiatus for a couple of comebacks and I was so happy when he came back. I know it will help bring more attention to Up10tion, but I don’t want him to be away from them for too long. If he does get to debut I will support him.

Lee Jinhyuk: The same for him, I don’t want him to be away from Up10tion for too long. I mean he’s finally getting the recognition he deserves and I’m happy about that. Also I’m pretty sure Lee Dongwook is whipped for him. But I mean same. And he’s Jinwoo’s dad.

Why YG TREASURE BOX is a complete mess and YG is playing with us. (A rant?)

First, its important to understand what or YGTB is and how it was promoted for this we should understand the events that happened before.

NOTE: YG will be referred to as a they since there are other people besides YHS Making the Decisions.

All of YG’s boy groups were made through survival shows.

BIGBANG=BIGBANG DOC

WINNER=WIN

IKON=WIN/M&M

So it was pretty obvious that they would reuse this concept for their new bg.

Now its safe to assume that the group was set to be made around Bang Yedam, he’s popular in Korea plus that he was the moat famous trainee .

Now this is the general assumption that the original silver boys lineup ot11 were the lineup set up to debut. This is the reason why they were promoted through Mixnine (GonSukKyu) and Stray Kidz (YG vs JYP). But we all know Mixnine failed and that some trainees left making YG To rethink their concept and lineup.

Now we must remember that prior to the show starting YG teased that Yedam, Hyunsuk and Raesung were basically confirmed members.

Raesung, due to personal reasons decided to not participate in the show (the best decisions honestly).

Currently YG as a company is at a point were every fandom in it has problems with the company. This is all due to the amount of mismanagement towards the majority if not all the groups and artists. YG despite being the house of great and unique artists doesn’t know how to mange them which leads to long hiatus, less music and cbs,etc.

Now lets analyze the problems with the shows format. Moat idol survival shows have the same format. Which is simply individual competition. This means that the contestants will be evaluated and the voting will be individual or 1 pick (produce 101).

YGTB showed the beginning to be more a team survival show in other words a group compete with other groups (Win). But around the second and third episode its revealed that the show will be individual, shifting the format. This is first seen strange since a consistent theme in YGs previous groups is their teamwork but this is because since predebut the trainees are grouped into groups.

In the show we are never truly explained about how the show works and if it is its vague and very contrictdactory. Plus a lot of unfair and frankly weird things are shown ( compared to other survival shows)

Examples of this are:

• Number of final lineup is always changing: from 7 to 9 to 7 to 6 to 5 to 7 it would change depending the mood od the ceo.

• YHS changes rules at whim: YHS changes or adds rules

• Missions: the missions to compete against the treasure team were barely explained. Winpink came to the show mostly just for name Dropping cause they didn’t show why they chose who they chose. The ep were winner 2seung was going to examine their performances was cut to almost nothing more than click Bait.

• The rounds or missions made little sense , at the beginning it 1:1 , then 2:2 (duo), then team genre(?)/concept (in my opinion they weren’t that different in my opinion to be a concept eval but oh well)and putting a position battle at the end ……makes little sense

In Produce and other shows its usually a cover, position, concept and then original song evaluation. Showing the growth.

• Lack of original ygtb songs most survival shows make their own songs fir the concept and final evaluations (example Mixnine). YG is company that prides on self production but not once was this used despite various trainee being able to ( Yedam, Hyunsuk, Byounggon, Asahi, Yoshinori, etc.) . Even if the boys couldn’t yg producers could’ve made songs just like in Mixnine.

• Lack of fan events besides liking a trainees video and channel there weren’t chances for the fans to feel really close to them. With the individual channels they could’ve done random lives but no. Or fanmeetings.

Despite this the show did release a series of interesting content that honestly saved the show.

• Not letting all the trainees participate in the treasure swap and cutting and not airing the performances certain trainees made. Leaving the fans to have to watch fancams.

Now to explain the real mess, throughout the whole show fans were confused on how they could help their faves in terms of voting. YG opens voting till the last 2 episodes and makes it a group voting meaning you have to vote for a group of trainees. According to fans this means that the lineup with most votes will have an advantage to debut. On the last ep its revealed that Isn’t case at all. The trainees only got extra points depending on how many ranks or lineups they were in. In other words again it was individual voting. They didn’t explain this till ep 10 when the voting’s was done. Along with this they added the final nail to the coffin. These online votes were only worth 20% of the final score. With onsite votes at a 30%. But YHS gets 50% of the score, so basically YHS gets to choose at the end od the day so fan votes mean close to nothing. If a trainee did well on votes but isn’t YGs fave they wont pass and vice versa.

On top of all of this YG makes sure fans aren’t in the recording of the ranking to obviously avoid discord and only announces half the lineup for what we can only assume is for drama. Only YG and some staff know the lineup. Instead of releasing it all its adding more anxiety and desperation . Which can be seen in the fighting, the rumors and spamming.

Now that we’ve established that YGTB is a mess of a show that makes Mixnine look good, lets talk about favoritism and screentime. And why I don’t understand YGs intentions and the lineup.

Ok let get this out of the way YG/YHS always plays favorites, this isn’t new at all. We can see in the show that there are trainees YHS likes way more compared to others. In other words he tends to be very biased. On top that he likes to brag. The first ep is basically look at all the visuals I got.

All it takes is to watch the show to know who Yg/YHS like more baaed on screentime and arcs made. Lets Look at the confirmed members most got solid screentime. Yedam is pushed from the get go to being a super star trainee that is basically god where other trainees don’t want to be against him. Junkyu is cute and talented a good future asset, we see how he gets screentime from the start with his confidence arc. Plus its important to note that in Mixnine YHS’s fave was Junkyu . Haruto from the start was the Japanese trainee YG was interested in and he Gets the most screentime from the Japanese trainees. Jeongwoo was promoted through his vocal and how yg likes him, he gets attention. Junghwan On the other hand gets way less screentime then the other member but still way more than other less known trainees.

That being said a lot of the team b, team c and team j trainees get very little to no screentime. Jongseob who won Kpop Star didn’t get much screentime and performance was cut. Mashiho’s screentime is mostly reactions or being a friend.

Silver boys got the most screentime overall they focused a lot on their teamwork and bond giving fans the hope that they would debut. Which is were im frankly confused and would love to understand the why.

Why make silver boys participate in this show and emphasize so much on them for basically nothing?

Why bring Jihoon back?

Why bring Seunghun back?

After hours and hours of thinking and reading opinions. I came to a few theories:

A) YG wants to debut a fresh, young and visual new bg. For whatever reason, so choosing the younger trainees makes sense. Probably modeled around Yedam for a more pop sound in comparison to WinKon Some accounts state that a lot of kfans were pushing yg for a younger and visual group. Basically discarding the older trainees. Also this lineup has YGs faves who were the younger ones. If this is true YG will debut Yoonbin and Masiho or Yoonbin and Jaehyuk (his screentime in the last episodes makes me think so). Basically in this theory YG had an idea from the get go and they only used the silver boys for clout. This is the theory that makes me the saddest tbh. But still it doesn’t explain why yg would care so much about silver boys. Like bringing them back and emphasizing so mucho on how they’re a team. Plus it discards the power Hyunsuk has with one of the most stable fandoms.

B) The theory before the lineup was dropped was that yg Is testing the silver boys for the last time which made sense till the last episode. But SB stans have been very loud and spammed his Instagram, trended a hashtag and are contacting companies. This means they have a strong fandom so this might help.

C) YG will add more members to the lineup I think 9 is more realistic than 11. Based on screentime maybe Hyunsuk + Seunghun.

D) YG will debut all of ot13, doubt this since YG hasn’t have that big of a group and I don’t think YG can handle it. If it was SM yeah but not this. (I like this one tho )

E) YG will debut ot13 but in 2 teams a pop team and hip-hop team. Pop=treasure7 Hip-hop=silver boys +a member (I love this)

F) YG will debut SB but under the black label.

G) YG wont do anything except debuting the og treasure7 . And the sbs will leave the company and split up.

These are all the theories I have.

Tldr: YGTB has a lot of flaws as a survival show being extremely unfair and the situation with the lineup is the most chaotic thing ever. Whatever yg does will make people mad.

The worst part is that it worked as always YG doing the minimal manages to pull us in just to disappoint us. Just that he managed to drag more people this time.

At this point I’m done with the guessing and the rumors, I just really want to know what’s going on and the security that my faves are ok even if they’re in or not in the group. Cause not debuting in the group isn’t the end they can debut with another group or go solo. My point is that it isnt the end for their careers.

Treasure Lineup: My Opinion

UNTIL YG ANNOUNCES THE 6TH TREASURE, I AM FREAKING OUT AHFDHFJDSFHDSFSDJFIOSJEFIDJSF ISDFJ DSIF

WHO WILL IT BE? PLS DEBUT AND LET SILVER BOYS LIVE OUT THEIR DREAMMMMMMM..... imma go check, plzzzz i’m praying for them

~ Welp, I am back and I have lost hope for the Silver Boys. Jaehyuk?? I’m really surprised. I’m not discrediting all his hard work. I mean, he really worked to improve and made sure to stand out to YG and earn compliments during the team competition. He obviously practiced really hard and put effort into his expressions, dance, and overall execution. But, in my opinion, Jaehyuk is still lacking in terms of skill. His presence on stage pales in comparison to other trainees, especially ones that have been training for MULTIPLE YEARS WAITING TO DEBUT. He still is a little rickety in his choreography and his vocals don’t sound as developed or stable. His part in “Going Crazy” didn’t leave an impression of strong vocals for me, and I feel like his charisma was largely boosted by the fact that YG edited in a way that held suspense in revealing his comeback after being eliminated. Of course, he is a hard worker and super determined to practice, as seen when he cried in the restroom (bless his heart)!! I wholeheartedly believe he will get better, but I just don’t see why YG would choose Jaehyuk over others like Seunghun, Doyoung, Jihoon, Byounggon, or even Mashiho? They’ve been training for so long together and hoping to one day make their debut and they were already STRONG AS IS and already have great chemistry and bond because they literally grew up together and shared the same dream? Team A has repeatedly shown their well-rounded talent in all realms and have ability to withstand criticism with patience and perseverance. As of now, it seems like it’ll just be a regular boy group without the powerful skill or legendary dynamic/charisma of past groups? THEY COULD’VE BEEN LEGENDARY ROOKIES. The Silver Boys relied on each other a lot during their hardships and a lot of them named each other as emotional anchors. Haruto and Jeongwoo have shown exceptional skill, and I think they have the opportunity to learn and experience a lot. All the boys rely heavily on each other and it’s evident through what the fans see in all the episodes, reaction cams, diary cams, and bonus cuts. They balance each other out, as performers and friends. Hopefully YG can come to his senses and allow all 13 trainees to debut together. With the chemistry, leadership and skills from Team A and the other trainees with potential to grow and improve, I feel that the group would balance really well and succeed. PLEASE DEBUT THEM ALL. The current lineup just has a different vibe than I originally thought YG was going for, even though I love Junkyu and Yedam. Their hearts must hurt for their fellow team a members. PLEASE YG, WE ARE BEGGING YOU. Despite that, I wish Junghwan and Jaehyuk success in making the final lineup and accomplishing their dreams! Their parents must be proud and they're probably equally surprised.

 ⌲ Description: You’re a senior idol from YG, and your boyfriend happens to be Jimin from BTS. How does that work out? PART 1

Looking at herself in the mirror, Y/N turned her head slightly to the side and inspected her make-up. Leaning forward, she frowned a bit, before wiping away a bit of smudged eyeliner on the side. Standing back up straight she let out a nervous breath. Her heart was beating like crazy and it didn't seem to slow down. Actually it seemed to get worse for each minute that went by. Closing her eyes for a few seconds, she tried her best to find the wits in her mind to calm down and breathed out slowly. A gentle knock on the door of her dressing room interrupted her so called meditation. Snapping her head up, a head poked through and the familiar eyes of her manager met her. 

"You alright there?" The middle aged woman looked at Y/N with warm brown eyes. 

"I've been better," she chuckled out nervously, as her voice croaked slightly. 

"You must be really nervous," her manager noted with slight amusement. 

It was quite a surprising sight for Y/N team to witness her in such a state. Most of them had been with her ever since she debuted. Others a bit later, but all of them had spent more than 4 years around her. Everyone knew each other and had seen the idol's up and downs whenever they were. So to see her so nervous for a performance of a simple award show was strange. 

"I don't even know why..." Y/N sighed and ran a hand through her wavy dark brown hair in frustration. She's been performing on this stage each year, for six years straight now. 

Her manager only raised an eyebrow in return. "You know why you're nervous. But the question is if you're sure about this."

Y/N resisted a smile. Of course her manager Unnie knew her the best. The performance tonight wasn't just a simple performance to please the crowd. It was something much more meaningful for her now than ever. The MAMA awards has given her a set of maximum 10 minutes to use. One of the longest performances of the night, along with EXO and BTS. It was a struggle and a two hour meeting long discussion of what she would do during that time. Most people of her team wanted her to sing her two most popular songs, with some kind of surprise breakdown in the middle. She had sat in silence only listening halfway as ideas were thrown in from everywhere. Someone had wanted it to be big and dramatic, while others suggested a solo dance would be better. Y/N didn't exactly hate the ideas, but it wasn't something she wanted to do. Her performances have always been "big and dramatic", so she wanted to something contrasting her usual style. She wanted to do a meaningful performance. Something that mattered to her and told a message. They were hesitant to her words, because MAMA was according to them not a place to perform sentimental songs. Luckily her manager came to her rescue and convinced them because it was such unlikely of Y/N to perform like that, it would be even more of a surprise. After it got accepted and planning started, she agreed to perform one of her upbeat songs as the ending with a dance number if they wanted. She was happy as long as she got what she had intended to do first. 

"I'm sure," she had finally nodded. 

There was a small moment of silence. "You know this will blow up on social media, right?"

"I'm aware."

"And you don't care?"

Y/N simply shrugged, this time more determined than ever. "They can say what they want. I'm not doing this to please the haters."

Her manager smirked proudly at the young woman standing in front of her. She really has grown a lot through the years. "Does he even know what you're planning?"

The idol returned the look, as her eyes twinkled with mischief. "That's highlight of the performance, unnie."

Laughing at her words, the older woman simply shook her head and glanced down at her clock on the wrist. "You've got 10 minutes left before the stage. We're leaving in 5, so do what you have to." With that, she went back out and closed the door behind her. 

The room was once again filled with silence as Y/N was alone. She glanced into the mirror and looked at her bedazzled silver dress, as the accessory sparkled every time the light touched it. It hugged her in all the right places and showed of her figure, that was the result of training and hard dancing hours. Running her fingers down the fabric of her dress, she thought about him. The guy that had been with her through thick and thin. Someone who was just as busy, if not more than her. Yet he came running whenever she needed someone to lean on. Park Jimin was just the perfect human being, and Y/N couldn't believe that he was hers. They had been friends even before his debut back in 2013. But their relationship didn't start before in 2015, when he mustered up his courage to ask her out on a date.

Before either of them knew it, time flew by. Both of their companies had told them to keep it a secret and down on the low when they first announced it. But it was revealed to the public not even two months ago. The reaction was big, just as they anticipated. Shocked fans that didn't even knew the two of them knew each other before the news. Of course there were the haters as well, who just couldn't keep the comments to themselves. But Y/N had been in this industry for eight years, and has been through worst scandals than a relationship. Some of them including when she'd been caught at a club for simply having fun. But to the public it was "foolish" and "unprofessional." Another time was when paparazzi had caught her on a balcony in Japan, after a YG family concert with Jiyong smoking and him back hugging her. As well pecking her cheek. Okay, so she can agree that it was their fault, and it could have been avoided. It was after the concert, so everyone was still high from the excitement and had a couple of drinks. They were a bit intoxicated and didn't exactly control their movements. And both of them were very touchy when drunk, so it must have looked wrong to the public. The worst part was that they were hating more about her having skinship with the G-dragon, rather than smoking. 

Even Y/N who looked innocent from the outside hadn't escaped the so called "Scandal company". Yet her relationship with Jimin had been the one with worst feedback. And here they were not even two months later at the same award show. Suddenly a loud knock was heard on the door, as a voice called out for her attendance by the stage. 

Looks like it was showtime. 

The boys of BTS were seated on the first row on the sitting area of the stage at MAMA 2016. They had just returned from their own performance, and the adrenalin was still running through their veins as they were chatting amongst themselves excitedly. Laughing was heard as it was break time and everyone around them was were interacting with each other. Jimin leaned back into the soft couch they were sitting on and let his eye sweep over the arena. It was filled to the brim, as different lightsticks all blinked back at him. There were the occasional screams of fans that tried to get their idol's attention, and he waved at some Army's that called out his name. Glancing around the sitting area, he tried to find her familiar dark, brown hair, but nothing stood out to him. Instead he had caught the attention of Ailee. She noticed his searching eyes and smiled knowingly to herself, as she continued her conversation with Taeyeon. The idols all present were very well aware of the relationship he and Y/N had. Some more than others, because of their friendship with the female idol as well. But it was obvious for them that the BTS member and YG artist were not to show any affection in public around each other, despite their longing glances whenever they were in the same room. 

Then as the commercials came to an end, the lights slowly dimmed to darkness as the VCR began to play an introduction video of the next performance. Nearly everyone in the arena screamed their lungs out at the familiar, and dramatic video that represented a YG artist. All eyes were stuck on the screen placed in front of their seating area, or stage waiting for it. The video came to an end with a loud boom as darkness fell across the arena again. Then a white spotlight shone down on the middle of the stage, where a familiar figure came to sight. The screams seem to intensify as Y/N's dress was glittering in the light that shone down on her. Her hair curled to perfection and pinned over one shoulder. There was a mic in her hand, while her eyes were closed. An unfamiliar beat began to play, and Jimin recognized it as a bass and piano. It was a slow rythm that slowly hushed the crowd around them and everyone watchingher.  Everybody needs inspiration Everybody needs a song A beautiful melody When the nights are long

Her voice was as beautifully soothing and calming as he could remember. It sent shivers down his body, ad he leaned forward with his arms on his knees and focused on the performance. 

'Cause there is no guarantee That this life is easy Her voice was husky and powerful as she belted out the chorus, and everyone could hear the passion in her voice as the performance continued. People were too transfixed on her voice and image to scream and yell. Yet many still cheered loudly as her voice echoed through the stadium.

As Y/N was in the middle of what seemed like the chorus, when she began to move towards where the artists were all sitting and the spotlight followed her steadily. Her dress moved elegantly along her feet as she calmly walked over. People began to stand up in respect as she came closer. The chorus came to and end as there were a few seconds of pause. 

When I look at you I see forgiveness

Suddenly she did the most unexpected. She confidently turned where BTS was obviously standing and faced them. Everyone surrounding them already seemed to know what she was up to. Y/N elegantly moved towards the member standing between Namjoon and Taehyung who both looked shocked and surprised at the turn of events. Her eyes locked on his own, as the light caught his ash blonde hair.  I see the truth You love me for who I am Like the stars hold the moon She reached out his hand for him as Jimin didn't hesitate to take it in his own. His warmth sending a calmness through her. Pulling his away from his members, she lead him a little further out so they were in everyones sight to see. The screams had gone so loud that some even winced at the sound, but were too caught up in the performance to acknowledge. 

Right there where they belong And I know I'm not alone

Her voice seemed to get even more powerful as her hold on his hand tightened, as she sang passionately the words she wanted to tell him. Her eyes never left his own, as the space between them got smaller for each second that went by. Jimin was speechless as he didn't expect her to show her love for him at a place so public, and his heart beated frantically inside of him.

The song slowly came to an end as her voice softened down and ended it. 

You appear just like a dream to me. The moments the last word left her words, Jimin didn't hesitate to close the distance between them. He cupped his hand around her cheek and brought his lips down on hers. She wrapped her arms around his neck and returned it, as he slightly dipped her down and the crowd and artists all went crazy and cheered for the couple. BTS were hollering and jumping up and down at the sight in front of them. Cameras went crazy as they flashed hundreds of times.

But neither of them cared. All they felt was the love they had for each other, and would face whatever consequences in the future together.

Since he refused to explain himself you eventually looked up the peculiar phrase and found out its meaning. ‘The quarrels of lovers are the renewal of love’.

‘What a cheesy guy…’ you roll your eyes, staring at your phone screen.

You and Byounggon are pretty much known as the couple that acts like they hate each other but are actually very loving in private. Whenever you see him in the school hallways you automatically insult him.

‘Hey noodle arms!’

‘Don’t talk about my arms when you have a flat ass!’ he retorts.

Poor Hyunsuk always has to break up your fights.

‘Okay lovebirds I think you can stop asserting your dominance now.’ he yells out, pushing you towards the classroom.

You stand in the middle of a deserted zone, trying to find Byounggon behind the fake boulders that were placed all around the field. You feel a presence behind you as Byounggon suddenly pushes you into a corner, kissing you deeply. He then proceeds to shoot you before walking away. Your eyes flutter close in disbelief as Byounggon jumps up and down in triumph followed by a very questionable fortnite dance.

To say you were annoyed was an understatement. Not only were you a sore loser but you felt like he had used his pretty face and lips as an unfair advantage to distract you!!!

You wrinkle your nose at him as he drives you home, still furious. He was blasting music to drown out the eerie sounds of his old car.

‘Don’t even talk to me right now.’ you huffed out, crossing your arms.

‘What are we doing tonight babe?’ he hummed, parking in front of your dorm.

‘Did you even hear me? We are not doing anything! I’m going to eat a delicious piece of chocolate cake while my man thinks about how mean he is.’ you pout, pointing at him.

‘Sounds dank can I join?’ he grinned.

You shake your head but he still walks out of the car, opens the door on your side and enters your dorm right after you.

‘Your smart mouth is gonna get you in trouble angel. I’m not going to keep going back and forth with you.’ he grabs your hips, pulling you into his chest.

Sunlight leaks through your stained glass windows as you feel your cheeks heating up at his words. The corners of his mouth turn upwards into a smirk and suddenly you feel his lips on yours and your hands tangled in his hair. His hands slip down to your hips as he deepens the kiss, forehead resting onto yours. You pull back, admiring the dimples that adorn his cheeks. You had never felt so wanted and loved before. His kisses made all your doubts go away. You used to think you and Byounggon could never date. You were better off as friends or even friends with benefits. You contemplated ignoring his calls. You never thought it would be him. The boy who would send you crumpled up notes filled with semi-flirty insults in class. The boy who made you laugh like no one else could. Not only did he teach you how to love but he taught you how to be loved. Something that is often disregarded.

He was typing furiously, only stopping to drink his strawberry milkshake. His legs were shaky with excitement as the story progressed from the tips of his fingers. Noa had always loved writing, which is why he was your college blog’s main writer. He was naturally intimidating, never shying away from a topic no matter how controversial it seemed. He looked like the type of person who would tell kids that Santa doesn’t exist. He seemed like a misanthrope to everyone except for you and Junkyu. Yet, despite his cold demeanor, his absence left a scar on everyone. He was beautifully unreachable, much like the moon.

You and Junkyu were basically his only friends. Your friendships with the two boys were considerably different. Junkyu is a childish and innocent friendship. It’s getting drunk together, baking together, shopping together, falling asleep in classes together, dying your hair matching colors, laughing until you’re out of breath, inside jokes and finishing each other’s sentences. Meanwhile, Noa is a healing type of friendship. It’s deep talks at 3am, writing together, reading together, stargazing together, making playlists together, going on long drives together.

You fell in love with Noa before you even realized it. He was so different from all the boys you had loved before. You would always be beaming on the inside when strangers would ask if you were dating, rushing to deny it to keep your crush a secret. You were stuck on him.

Sometimes love isn’t all about romance and attraction. Sometimes it’s someone who’s constantly there for you, who understands you. That’s what you saw in Noa. There was no ‘searching for potential’. No mind games, no manipulations. He already had everything you needed. If only you knew how he stared at you every time you looked away.

As always, you and Junkyu accompany Noa to the coffee shop, either helping him get ideas for new articles or just chatting away while he writes. Junkyu is stuffing himself with a chocolate brownie while you sip on your matcha latte, trying to drown out his yelling about how ‘whoever invented chocolate I said your moms a goddess’. When Noa got tired of writing he would steal glances at you two, wondering how he ended up being friends with two absolute crackheads.

Sometimes his eyes would glaze over you. He’s been feeling it for a while, this gentle sense of longing whenever he was around you. He thought he would be over it by now. Sometimes he wished he could press ‘reset’ on his heart. Unfortunately, the universe doesn’t work like that. After all this time, he was still into you.

‘Yo are you decent??’ Junkyu asks, opening the door as soon as you say yes.

He walks past you, plopping down on your couch as he turns your tv on.

‘What’s the program for tonight?’ he says, munching on the strawberry pocky you had set out as your study snack.

‘Junkyu I’m not sure if you can see, but I have my Chem notes laying out in front of me so… that’s the plan??’ you respond.

‘Can you like… not be boring for 2 seconds? Noa wants to go out tonight and that never happens so you’re coming.’

'Noa. You're telling me Noa wants to go out? Did you drug him?' you chuckle.

You suddenly hear a knock on the door. As you open the door, a very dressed up Noa is standing there with a bottle of tequila in his hand.

'Pre-game?' he asks.

You look him up and down and you're literally stunned. he's wearing a silky navy blue shirt with ripped jeans. He even has tiny gold hoops hanging from his ears and his hair is parted in the middle, revealing his forehead. You feel your heart pound and your breath quicken.

'Uh... Ok..' you nod after a while, letting him in.

Noa and Junkyu take several shots of tequila as you get ready. You tug on your black crop top and skirt down a little as you finally finish your makeup. Noa smiles at you as you come out of the bathroom and you almost shed a tear when you see how his dark eyes sparkle. He mouths the word ‘beautiful’, winking at you.

‘Can you guys at least save me some tequila?’ you cross your arms, narrowing your eyes at the two boys.

You had been at the party for exactly 24 minutes when things started getting wild. Old school r&b was bumping through the speakers at Raesung’s house. You were sitting in a corner of the living room, stirring soda with your straw. You had actually planned on drinking until you realized someone had to take care of Junkyu’s drunk ass and it probably wouldn’t be Noa, unless he managed to escape from his fangirls. The place was already trashed. You even saw a pair of Gucci slides floating in the punch bowl. You spot Noa across the room, dancing with a stranger in a tight dress. You were prepared, but it still hurt. Your arms were tired of constantly reaching for something that would never happen.

You looked around, not wanting to be alone. You needed to get him off your mind. Junkyu was already dancing with his bio lab partner Mashiho, swaying his hips with a huge glass of red wine in his hand. Hyunsuk, Raesung and Seunghun were playing a huge game of kahoot so you decided to join them. A few minutes into the game, you feel a hand pressing against your right shoulder and you know exactly who it is.

‘Oh so now you acknowledge my existence?’ you roll your eyes, removing Noa’s hand.

‘Come on y/n, I’m sorry I left you alone.. Let’s go chill on the couch!’ he says a little too enthusiastically, pulling you towards the couch.

He pulls you down next to him, your right leg over his left leg as he stares at you. No words are exchanged for a while and it’s almost like you’re having a staring contest. You take the time to bask in the luxury of seeing his brownish-black eyes and long eyelashes up close. It’s like looking at precious stones.

‘I missed you.’ he whispered.

‘What do you mean? We’ve been apart for less than 20 minutes?’ you retorted.

‘I know. I just always miss you. I’ve been thinking about you a lot lately.’ he muttered.

You took a large gulp of your soda, trying to ignore his stare. You couldn’t tell if he was playing with you but from the stern expression on his face, he seemed honest. Your words freeze within your throat as you fall into his eyes once again.

‘I need to go to the bathroom’ you choke out, rushing upstairs.

Noa’s eyes flutter close, hands raking through his hair in frustration. He’s a writer but communication isn’t really his strong point.

An hour later Junkyu is considerably drunk while Noa is considerably sad. You ended up escaping him to go take care of Junkyu.

‘I-Is this room spinning? Ohhh it’s a disco partayyy whoah Raesung really snapped!’ he rambled on enthusiastically as you clutched his arms.

‘I can guarantee you, your head is the only thing spinning in this room.’ you sigh, dragging him next to Noa’s spot on the couch.

‘Noa looks sad…’ Junkyu hums, leaning onto to the former.

‘I’m fine.’ Noa muttered, leaving to get a drink.

It’s only 3 hours later that you finally get to talk to Noa. You drove Junkyu back to his dorm so it was only you and Noa in the car. You parked the car in front of Noa’s dorm a few minutes ago and he still hasn’t gotten out.

‘What do you want from me?’ he whispers.

‘What do you mean?’ you reply, breathing heavy.

‘You know exactly what I mean. What do I have to do to prove that I really want to be with you?’

‘Noa this is ridiculous we’re just friends.’ you shake your head.

‘We think about each other a little too often to be just friends.’ he replies, eyes burning into you.

‘Look, I know that I’m forgetful, I’m a know-it-all, I’m cold and sometimes indecisive but if there’s one thing I’m sure about it’s you.’

‘Is that so? You didn’t look too sure about me when you were practically making out with that girl on the dancefloor.’ you retort.

He sighed, exhausted at the fact that he still had to explain himself.

‘Me dancing with one girl because you were avoiding me like the plague doesn’t mean I don’t mean what I just said. I’m in love with you. I’m in love with the way you care for everyone around you, the way your nails glitter, the way your hair falls, the way you constantly bite on your coffee straw… It’s everything about you y/n.’

You sink into your seat, slightly overwhelmed.

‘I feel the same way…’ you slowly whisper, glancing at him.

‘Then can we please make this work?’

‘Yes. As long as you stay by my side.’ you say, flashing him a bright smile as you hug him.

A soft look settled in his eyes as he kissed you gently. As he played with your hair he felt a warm and fuzzy feeling in his stomach and he just knew. No matter how much he had read or written about love, nothing could compare to actually feeling it.
