I don't mind projection onto fictional characters that much, heck I do it myself. (Aspec characters my beloved.) But sometimes peojection just turns into overly sanded projections of the canonical characters themselves.

Heck not even projection, sometimes they'll just do whatever to the character to the point they're barely recognizable. Making them sanded and flat to put in the most bare bones stuff for like, memes and other forms of projection. Thinking it's cool or funny to have them be that way when it very clearly goes against canon.

Idk I'm just tired of seeing characters dulled down for whatever headcanons and ships and whatnot just because people can't handle nuance and think of them deeper than a surface level interpretation. PLEASE go back and look at the characters in canon and study them for a bit. Build headcanons off of that. Sometimes they'll do things that you won't do and that's fine. Not everything is for personal projection. (Though there's nothing wrong in being a self indulgent a little)

#yes this is about what i saw on twitter regarding starlo #no hes not a big breasted always cool high-noon cowboy himbo people tend to make him out to be #like literally i found out why i didnt like so many of those interpretations. its not just the fact so many of those are of North Star-#-and not Starlo #like okay. i can see Starlo doing some of those things as North Star and being drunk #but that's not all he is??#people on Twitter forget he's a nerd #hes a freaking NERD. a farmer whos a NERD #COME ON #North Star is a front. its a persona. it's not who he completely is #people literally just took him. gave him a cool himbo personality. and slapped a big chest on him and called it a day #with like. none of the nuance of him being the insecure (and even self loathing) farmer he was and grew up as. and still kinda is #idk. sometimes it's nice to indulge that side of him but it becomes exhausting to see that its ALL people see him as #for petes sake im gonna make yall draw him as a nerd farmer #the cake doth speak #fandom
