ask swap!!
if u could travel anywhere where would u want to go?
since u finished utlhs, have u had any au ideas for flo & cutler that u genuinely want to write?? or potential scenes that u thought of later/didn’t make it
also if u can assign a perfume to this scene i’m writing where the characters r having a serious conversation over cigars behind an old church on a hill in rural wales that would be cool. i imagine the ocean is somewhere close also? idk if that’s too vague lol
Hiii!
I’d say probably Vietnam or New Zealand since I’ll tick off Indonesia from my bucket list in 2025, yay.
As for scenes I didn’t include, honestly, everything kind of fell neatly into place. Thing is, I still find the idea of exploring Cutler’s POV during all of that interesting, but since that would basically mean retelling the entire plot, I don’t think it’s worth writing. I did write a oneshot from his perspective around two months ago which was super fun because it kinda felt like coming home and was born out of the comment I made to a friend that Florence most definitely has some sort of weapon kink. I guess you could count that as a scene I would have liked to include but didn’t because it wouldn’t have really added to the story. And this way I finally got the chance to write from Cutler’s pov — two birds, one stone.
And I would have loved to focus on Archie — Cutler’s uhh ex of sorts — a bit more, because he’s so fun to write, but maybe that’s something for the next au lol.
As for au ideas, I can’t stop thinking about what would happen if Flo agreed to marry Cutler instead of running away back in Nippon. I haven’t fleshed out the plot or anything, but it would definitely involve some sort of corruption arc for her later on. I’m bad at juggling multiple projects, so I need to finish my current wip before even thinking about touching that tho.
For the perfume: Not too vague at all! My first thought was Cliffside Bonfire (conifers, dry woods, rain, saltwater, seaweed, ambergris (vegan), charred wood, smoke) by Solstice Scents. I feel like it ticks all the boxes — even though the smoke leans more toward wood smoke than cigar smoke.
If you want to focus on the churchy feel and the cigars, you could try layering Arcana’s Holy Terror (burning frankincense, sandalwood, deep myrrh, and dusty beeswax candles) or Solstice Scents’ Monastic with Firebird’s Tobacco Honey (a gentlemanly blend of sweet pipe tobacco, golden honey, and black tea) or Solstice’s Vanilla Pipe Tobacco.
