One headcanon I've stuck with, but never elaborated on in writing, is that Peppino has an excellent singing voice (he's a baritone, btw). Giuseppe regains this ability after the events of "The Last Slice."

They inherited this from their father Sergio, who was a professional-grade singer - he probably would have have been famous if he'd been discovered (and he hadn't been so shy about this talent). This was a big part of how he charmed Margherita: he would stand outside her window, serenading her, and she was entranced by him, even when her mother would run him off like a stray cat. Later she started arranging to meet him secretly, and he would sing to her for hours.

After they eloped and moved to La Crosta, he would often sing baby Peppino to sleep if he was being fussy; Margherita would stand outside the room and listen, as comforted by it as their son. It's one of the sharpest memories Peppino and Giuseppe have of their father, and, once they have kids, they both carry on the tradition.
