A soft exhale escaped your lips as you listened to your best friend through your headphones.

Jungkook could be both endearing AND annoying.

Sometimes you wondered how he could accomplish the two at the same time. But he was charming after all.

The game launched to life and your character quickly rushed off to scavenge for items that could be turned into armor.

You had first come into contact with Jungkook when you were both twelve years old.

It was Christmas Day to be exact. Both gleaming with joy as you hurried up the stairs to set up your newest prized possession- an Xbox.

You couldn’t quite remember which game introduced you to each other, but what you did know is that you beat him.

And you never let him live it down.

Ever since that day, you both spent most of your time speaking to each other every night. Eventually teaming up and forming what you called yourselves, “The Indestructible Duo.”

People grew to hate you. Once anyone saw both of your usernames enter the server it was game over.

You both loved it.

It was your typical best friend bond. The only thing separating you from everyone else was that you hadn’t ever met in person.

As time went on, e-mails and phone numbers were exchanged. Graduations were had, colleges were trudged through and brand new jobs were offered.

But one thing remained the same, Saturday game night.

You would always joke that this was the reason that you didn’t have a life, but you wouldn’t have it any other way.

So that’s how you were here today. 2 a.m. on a Saturday with glossy eyes from staring at the screen for the majority of the night.

“How’s the job been going, Miss editor?” You could hear the sarcasm dripping in his voice. Jungkook was a writer and as far as he saw it, you worked for the enemy.

“It’s fine.” You mumbled through your sips of tea. “I keep telling you to submit your novel, but soMEBODY’s too chicken shit.”

Jungkook scoffed as he slew the head off of another forest monster.

“If it’s not good enough for Harper Collins, then it’s not good enough for your publishing house.”

“Dude, you sent your first novel to a major company. All I’m saying is, in the hands of the right editor, ME, that shit would be flying off the shelves.”

You jammed your thumb into the up arrow, drawing your sword to shoo away the oncoming goblins.

“You know I love you, but the only reason you think that is because you are my best friend and you know it.”

The familiar warmth of his laugh filled your ears and you sat back for a minute to relish in the sound.

“It was really bad, wasn’t it?”

If Jungkook could rank the top ten most painful positions to fall asleep in, sitting upright with his head hanging over the side of his game chair would come in at number one.

This is how game nights would usually end. You slumped over and Jungkook listening every once in a while for your soft snores to come through.

A sound he had grown to look forward to.

One might call it adoration.

He removed his headset and untangled the controller cords from his feet, delicately setting them on his dresser. His body went into autopilot and made the motions to shut down the game, not before saving their progress. You would have his head tomorrow if he forgot to save.

He has made that mistake only once.

Quinquennial Life Assessment

So, it’s been a few years. When I was 19 I posted a sort of “roadmap” for the evolution of my life on this blog. Today I thought I’d revisit that. I want to take a look back and see what progress I’ve made, and then in a separate post I want to turn to the future, think about how my vision for it has changed, and consider how I can reincorporate these goals into that vision.

This is the list of things I wanted to get done in varying time frames. I’ve crossed off the things I’ve done to get a sense of my progress:

1 year:

At 19, my hopes were to accomplish the following things by age 20:

- Joined, and consistently participated in, at least 2 campus organizations that suit my interests, at least 1 of which should be competitive in nature - well, I joined the ISO and KVRX, my college radio station! Neither of those were competitive, but in retrospect I don’t really care about that :-)

- Made concrete plans to study abroad - Nope, unfortunately I never did this. I’m not quite sure I regret that, all things considered - I traded that experience for other things. I did make plans to spend a few months abroad of my own accord, and I would have gotten away with it, too, if it weren’t for that meddling global pandemic. But as it stands I haven’t done this.

- Learned C++ and python to proficiency - Hm. “Proficient” is a relative term. But I think I have a tendency to downplay my skills, so in the interest of counteracting that I’m going to count myself as “proficient” in these languages. I think that’s fair.

- Gone on at least a several day road trip with at least 1 friend - I’ve gone on several trips with @meeshbug, my very lovely girlfriend and best friend in the world :-)

- Decided on a concentration beyond the extremely vague umbrella of “computer science” - Unfortunately as far as my education is concerned I never really did this. If anything my interests have *broadened* rather than becoming more focused. More on this later...

- Made meaningful, ongoing contributions to an open-source project - You know what? I’ve published the source of everything I’ve ever made, and I’ve gotten to the point where I can make stuff that’s not trivial. So I’m giving myself credit for this one.

- Learned to cook enough meals to eat in most days and not get sick of my own food - I wish. I’ve learned to cook a fair amount of stuff but I still get way too depressed and lethargic to apply that consistently. Whether I consider myself to have achieved this honestly depends on the month.

- Learned to keep my living area clean - I’m much better at this than I was at 19, but at 19 I could barely clear a path to walk across my room. So there’s more work to do. More on these last two later.

- Gotten a pet - Meesh and I have a dog named Courage (after the dog of cowardly fame) and a cat named Jax!

2 years:

- Independently written a piece of software to completion and deployed it publicly - I’ve always pretty bad at actually seeing projects through to completion, but I do have a few full, independent projects under my belt at this point. I’ve built a simple game engine, a pathtracer, plugins for games I like, and some other stuff.

- purchased and begun regularly using some basic amateur radio equipment - Ah man. I got my license but I still haven’t gotten any equipment. I guess I have to get on that...

- purchased and begun experimenting with some basic music recording equipment - This one I’ve done, but I haven’t done as much experimenting as I’d like.

- hosted a party - I did this for my 21st birthday and it’s one of my favorite memories! Honestly this was probably the last time I had all my really close friends in one place. I’m actually getting kind of emotional about that.

- done some kind of hallucinogen - I have now done this. I definitely did get something out of it, albeit not what I expected. This is something I actually only did pretty recently and it’s still having a pretty profound effect. Maybe I’ll write a separate post about this.

- Gone camping with friends - Despite my best efforts, this hasn’t happened yet. Pretty fucked up.

3 years:

- learned to play another instrument besides the piano (guitar?) - I don’t feel comfortable crossing this one off quite yet, but I went ahead and bought myself some guitar equipment and have been messing around with it lately :-) I think I’m going to have to bite the bullet and pay for lessons if I’m serious about this, which I am.

- Written and recorded a song - Damn, I can’t believe it’s been 5 years and I haven’t even done this.

- Met a group of people I can play music with - nope

- Owned a leather jacket. I can’t believe I’ve still never even owned a leather jacket - I’ve done this and wore it frankly too much. Kinda cringe.

- Worked as a professional software developer - Yep! Worked as a software developer for a retail company for a couple years. I’m actually not working as a software developer right now, though; I’m working in a sort of adjacent position. More on this later.

- Participated in research related to my field - That’s pretty ambitious. Not sure I’ll ever do this, unfortunately. But we’ll see.

- Been to a film festival - Oh shit, I totally forgot about having written this. That’s a cool idea. I should do this, it’s not like it’s hard (well, at least in principle. I guess covid kind of changes the situation).

- Gotten a dog - Courage is one of those, I think, although he might also be part rat.

- collected 50 records - Lol, my dumb ass really thought I was going to buy $1,000 worth of records on college money. No, I haven’t done this, but I’m on my way there.

- Purchased a desktop computer - Well, my dad gave me his old desktop. That’s not really a purchase but I think it counts.

5 years:

- Begun accepting freelance development gigs - haven’t gotten here yet and I’m not totally sure this is a direction I want to go in my career. Freelancing has its own stressors as I’ve come to learn from others. No career path is sunshine and roses and I’m trying to internalize this fact.

- Participated in a student film - Nope. I don’t even know why I wrote this down to be honest.

- Gotten laid by solving a 5x5 Rubik’s Cube in front of a girl because surely that’s gonna have to work on someone eventually, otherwise I wasted a lot of time - These are getting weird. Surely I didn’t really expect this to happen, right? Well, either way I now have a long-term girlfriend, so I don’t - wait, Meesh has seen me solve a Rubik’s cube and she saw it before we started dating. So actually I’m going to give myself credit for it. I’m the one who makes the rules here.

- Fleshed out my political opinions - Yes, I now know everything about politics and can answer 100% of questions on political issues. Just kidding. But I know where I stand.

- Participated in a protest or some other kind of political event - Done! Went to a few protests as part of the ISO, participated in lots of their events, and attended some protests with friends as well.

- Studied abroad - Nope :-/

- Learned a language other than Spanish - I took a semester of French! But I don’t quite want to give myself credit for this one because I really would like to learn a different language to something resembling fluency.

- Run a marathon - Lmao. I am in much worse shape now than I was when I wrote this post, and even at that time I could probably do like 7 miles if I really pushed myself. How sad.

- Gone hiking outside of texas - This is weird because I’d literally already done this when I wrote this post. But I’ve done it more since then, so hey!

- Been out of the country with a friend - This I had also already done. I guess the point is to have done it without “adult supervision” or whatever. I haven’t done this since writing this list so I guess I have to leave it uncrossed.

10 years:

- Lived with a girl for an extended period of time - Meesh 🥰

- Spent at least 6 months living on the road in an RV, preferably with a dog and a girl - God, I am so close to being able to do this. I don’t want it to be an RV anymore - those things are expensive. But a van? Still pricey, but doable, especially if I’m willing to sacrifice some comfort. This has actually been front-of-mind for a while. I’ll let you know when I get the balls to pull the trigger.

- Started making Real Money - Well, yep, I have gotten to that point. I do have other thoughts on this, though. Money is weird, man.

- Lived in a long-term living space outside of Texas (i.e. not including RV time) - How long is long-term? Three months? If so, I’ve done this by living in Boston with Meesh for a few months after she went there for law school. However, I anticipate staying there much longer in the near future, so I’ll wait on this crossing this one off.

- Written a book about something, idk - Not yet. I’m halfway to the deadline on this one and I have some ideas, but ideas aren’t worth all that much, especially to me, who rarely sees them through. We’ll see where this goes. It’s not exactly a priority and historically I struggle to get even my priorities done. It might make more sense to replace this with recording a concept or narrative album, for which I also have ideas that I happen to take more seriously.

- Learned to solve a 6x6 Rubik’s Cube - nope

- Gotten laid by solving a 6x6 Rubik’s Cube - nope

- Lived in an apartment where I pay all the rent - Yes! :-))) We love independence

- Earned an advanced degree (this one’s iffy) - This hasn’t happened, and whether it will ever happen is something I’ve been thinking a lot about. I sort of decided half-way through college that I would be totally burned out on school by the time I graduated. But in retrospect it takes way less time to burn out on work than it does to burn out on school, and grad degrees are a different kind of thing. So it’s worth revisiting.’

- Given a best man speech (Sam, this means you have to get married within the next 10 years. Good luck out there.) - Holy shit, Sam, you maniac, you actually did it! Sam got married back in 2019 and I gave his best man speech! It’s another one of my favorite memories :-)

- Gone on a cruise with someone I’m dating - Hmm, not yet. I’ve gone on cool trips, but none on a boat. Maybe that’s something to aim for after the pandemic passes :-)

Retrospective:

1yr: Completed: 5/9

More than half isn’t bad! I’m not gonna worry too much about whether I got these things done within their assigned “time-frame”. I’m a procrastinator in my heart and I don’t see any reason to put that kind of pressure on myself. The point is, they got done. That’s enough for me.

The things I did best in in this category were academic things, and things to do with relationships. I’m proud of the academic achievements, I really feel like doing them has increased my belief in myself and my sense that I’m good at the thing I’ve spent the last four years studying. And of course, I am so happy to be in a loving, fulfilling relationship that brings so many good things into my life. I almost feel like the things I accomplished sort of fell into my lap - of course I’m gonna do programming stuff as a programming student, and getting pets / going on road trips are things I did as a result of my relationship with Meesh. I don’t say that to downplay the accomplishments, but I do think it’s worth noting.

The things I haven’t done are more to do with personal development, which is disappointing. I would like to be able to say, 5 years down the road, that I’ve done the personal development I expected to do in just a single year, but maybe that’s a lot to expect. These are problems I’ve dealt with my whole life. I think what this means is that I can’t expect everything to fall into my lap. Those things are going to take real concerted effort to change. I’m not quite sure how to go about that, though.

2yrs: Completed: 4/6

Two-thirds! Even better!

Lots of these are one-time accomplishments, not so much long-term commitments to personal development. The good news is, I did them, and I think those resulted in some development in their own right :-)

Again, though, the things I didn’t do so well are the things that require long-term, concerted effort. For instance, while I crossed off the one about experimenting with music, it’s really only the initial investment that I’ve really done at this point. It remains to be seen whether I’ll be able to follow through on the commitment to actually experiment and learn.

3yrs: Completed: 4/10

This category also follows the same pattern I’ve noticed with the last two. The other thing I’m noticing is that so, so much of my effort over the past few years has been going towards developing a very particular skill: programming / computer science. Music and art are so important to me, but I’ve done very little real development in those areas. I mean, I’ve done some. But not as much as I would have hoped for half a decade.

5yrs: Completed: 4/10

This is getting a little more fun because less of my goals have to do explicitly with my degree. I’m starting to think beyond college, which is good, because the stage of life I’m in right now requires me to start thinking about the kind of life I want to build now that I’m done with school. Also, I’m at the deadline for this one right now! So this is a particularly interesting category because it really shows where I thought I’d be by this time.

The goals I accomplished in this timeframe are, again, mostly things I’ve done through my relationship, but politics also feature pretty prominently on this part of the list. I spent a lot of time reading and researching political issues during college and really did look for ways to participate. I honestly made politics a pretty big part of my identity over the last 5 years, and I think it will stay that way forever, but I’ve gotten to the point where I think I need to devote less of my mental energy to knowing more. I know what I need to know. It’s time to think about other things.

10yrs: Completed: 4/11 (and counting!)

There’s some career stuff in this section that I’ve been able to do, which is good news. I’ve always been scared about entering the working world. All things told, it’s gone more smoothly than it could have. But I also have lots of lingering doubts about what I want to do in the long term. So one of the most pressing goals I should aim for is to resolve those doubts.

Ultimately, I have a lot of time left, and I’m not even done with this time frame, so I’m not gonna spend much time dissecting the things I haven’t done. What I’ll do instead is say that while I didn’t do everything on this list, I feel proud of the things I have accomplished. I said when I first wrote this list that it’s sometimes hard for me to feel that my life is moving in any particular direction, and I’m still feeling like that five years later, to be honest. But looking back on these things has helped me see that I actually am making progress in my life. Not in all the ways I want to, but that’s OK. There’s still time.

In the next couple days I want to come back to this and reorganize this list into an updated set of goals, for the same time frames. Maybe that will help me think through exactly what it is I want out of the next five-ten years, with the benefit of having analyzed the things that I did and didn’t do well over the previous five.

Clueless (Ted Logan One-Shot)

N/A: I wrote this last year (I mean, is the only this I’ve wrote entirely in this language beyond 200 words) and I had lots of doubts about publishing it cuz English isn’t my first language and I really hate make mistake while I’m writting, I hope that you like it and forgive my rookie mistakes lmao. Enjoyyyy!

Characters: Ted Logan x fem!OC

Warnings: None but pluff! C'mon, Ted is a cutie pieee.

A long time ago (unfortunately not in a galaxy far, far away) Ted used to be Angelica’s neighbour and friend. And he’s been in love with her since forever.

Nobody can blame him, she was gorgeous. She was also funny and kind, and was an amazing cook too; he loved when she callend him Teddy because his mom was the only one who called him like that, and she was the only person besides her who did it too. He felt weak everytime when she tangled her fingers into his hair, or when she brused it softly. She smelled like cherries, and she always looked stunning.

He didn’t understand it, she couldn’t be that magnificent without effor. But guess what? She could and he couldn’t help but fall truly in love with her.

When she went to college in Los Angeles, he felt a bit lost and empty. He missed her so much but at least he had Bill, and he wasn’t too lonely.

Ted didn’t see her since three years ago, but that was the best for her and he knew it. She was one of the most clever minds in High School and she graduated with honors, it’s logical that she deserved study in a smart college with a bunch of smart people. He was the only boy she knew that wasn’t smart enough to stay permanently in her life.

She was a truly bodacious babe, and he was a clueless eighteen years old dude who was dumber than hell.

Talking about that, his luck (maybe his brain too) was so bad that he’s almost reproving physics because… Well, he doesn’t understand a flying shit of it.

Honestly, not everything was his fault. The teacher didn’t explain again when he expressed his concerns and doubts, or didn’t help him when he asked for her advice in many ocassions to resolve those hellish excercises.

When she said his terrible grades, he felt almost humilliated when his classmates started to laugh about him, some of them screamed that he was an idiot, but he looked like he wasn’t too worry about it.

Internally, he was almost crying out loud. Maybe he’s a bit goofy and clueless but he has feelings, and that witch hurted him when she told out loud that he won’t approve her subject and he won’t pass the final test because he was a dumb boy.

Ted doesn’t hate anybody, he’s a goog guy, but in that moment he almost hated her.

“Dude!”, Bill yells at Ted trying to attract his attention. He was so inmerse into his head that forgot about Bill being by his side. “Are you worry about the physics witch? Aren’t you”, his best friend asks.

Ted nods with a gulp when he realizes his fate. His dad is gonna kill him when he finds that out.

“I’m so over, dude”, Ted pulls his dark hair with concern. “Dad is gonna kill me, and the band will split.”

“No way, dude!”, Bill yells again. Ted knows how much his blonde best friend loves to yell when he’s excited or mad. “If you approve the final test you will pass the subject, that was the physics witch said.”

“And how the heck will I approve the test if I don’t know anything about the subject?”, Ted asks. “It’s impossible, dude.”

“No, it’s not!”

The two of them walk through the parking lot when Bill’s step-mom, Missy, parks her car waiting for them. The only thing is that she isn’t alone this time.

That’s a bit weird, being honest. Missy not often has female company, not since she got married Mr. Preston.

And like always, Ted punches Bill’s shoulder and reminds him:

“Dude, she’s your mom!”

Bill moves his head right to left, looking dumber than usual.

“She’s a bit older than us, dude!”, the blonde boy answers. “And look at that babe, is gorgeous.”

Maybe Ted was worried about his low grades in physics and stuff, but when someone mentions «babe», he just can focus on the girl.

He was in love with someone who didn’t have idea, not married or something.

Missy gives them a kind smile when they get close to the car, and the second girl mover her head too; his throat’s dry and his stomach twists nervously at the sight of Angelica.

How can it be that possible? She was busy studying a smart career with a lot of smart people in LA, not in San Dimas!

“Hi!”, Angelica greets when they get into the back seats with a jump. “Gosh, you guys got truly handsome while I was away!”

Okay he’s really nervous right now, but he can act carefree about the situation. He oftenly does it and he manage to fool people making them believe he’s carefree about everything… While in his head he’s on crisis and most of the times crying internally.

Yeah, being a clueless eighteen years old dude isn’t an easy job.

But Angelica is smart and he’s not sure about how many time he could manage this whole situation, she knows him better than himself does.

“You know, baby”, Bill starts to talk crossing his arms in front of his chest. “Puberty and stuff.”

Ted looks at Bill archeing his brows with esceptical eyes; Missy tries to not laugh about him and Angelica smiles.

“I believe that of Teddy”, Angelica says and those butterflies in Ted’s stomach starts to make troubles there because of the nickname. “He was shorter than you three years ago, but look at him now. I’m sure he could play basket in college.”

Oh c'mon! She’s making his whole carefree thing harder than usual.

“I don’t think so, babe”, Ted replies with a shy smile. “But thanks for the accompliment.”

Angelica gives him a bright smile, Missy drives to theit neighbourhood and Bill half-shuts his eyes looking at his best friend, who has his «daydreaming awake» face right now.

Oh man, this guy is so obvious.

“Dude!”, Bill mutters punching Ted’s right arm. “Did you get her over?”, he looks at Ted’s guilty face and opens his eyes with surprise. “You didn’t!”, he mutters again. “Why did you never tell me, dude?”, and yes, Bill punches Ted’s arm again.

“Cuz I knew you’ll be so agressive like now!”, the darkhaired boy mutters back. “And she can’t know about this if I don’t tell her, okay?” So shut the hell up, dude.“

Bill fakes closing his mouth like a zipper and Ted takes a deep breath, being sure that those pretty girls in the fron seats are busy talking to each other and didn’t notice the mutters war that he and Bill had a few seconds ago.

When the car arrives to the neighbourhood, Missy stops it in front of Ted’s house. His dad is in the living room and he can see him through the windows. He can’t help but gulp feeling a bit anxious, and a second later, he and Angelica get out of the car, because her house is next to his own.

"See ya, dude and babe!”, Bill yells at the two of them and Missy shakes her hand in goodby, starting to drive to their house.

Ted barely had noticed that Angelica just has a simple backpack with her, and he look at her with curious eyes.

“That boy won’t change ever”, she smiles. “And you neither, in attitude I mean because physically you grew up very well”, Angelica adds and then looks at the door of her house. “It feels like a century since the last time I looked at that door.”

“It’s been three years since the last time you were stood right here, Ange”, he replies sliding his hands into the pockets of his jeans. “For everyone here that feels like a century.”

She approaches at him, brushing his hair softly, just like only her knows to do it.

“Yeah, I know”, she nods while her hand rests onto his left shoulder. “I missed you a lot, Teddy.”

And Angelica hugs him, burying her face in his chest; she’s a lot shorter than him but that doesn’t matter, being honest. She always says how much she loves the way he’s taller than her (even when he was shorter than Bill a few years ago) and the way they both fit perfectly in each others arms without effort.

The butterflies attack his stomach again while he’s thinking about her. She’s so bodacious that it looks almost like a joke or something.

“Theodore, come here”, his dad shouts opening the front door.

And there’s the fear filling his body again, he’s over… No, he’s more than over, he’s a clueless dead dude.

“Bogus”, Ted whispers and Angelica breaks the hug moving her head, staring at Captain Logan with mischevious eyes. “What'cha gonna do, Ange?”

“Shut up and follow me”, she whispers back and they approach together to Ted’s dad, who has this scarying furrowed eyebrows face.“Hi, Captain Logan!”, Angelica greets with a pretty smile. “I’m sorry if Ted is late, I borrowed him for a few minutes because I arrived to San Dimas this morning and I went for him to the School. Excuse me for that, it’s just… I missed him a lot.”

Captain Logan’s face gets a bit softer (in a way that Ted didn’t believe he could) after her speech.

She’s such a sweet talker and she always wins everything she wants. She has talent and he knows it very well.

“There’s no problem with you, Angelica”, Captain Logan says. “But the principal called me a few minutes ago and told me Ted is gonna repprove physics if he doesn’t pass the final test.”

Oh, no those disapproval eyes. He hates them since forever.

Ted gulps feeling anxious and nervous again. He’s dead.

Angelica giggles and Ted forrows his brows.

“Oh, that has sense”, she says. “He had worried eyes all the way until we came here but he didn’t mention nothing about it”, Angelica pats his shoulder very gently. “I could help him with it if you give me your permisson.”

Okay, her mental sanity went to hell very quickly than he thought.

“I don’t wanna botter you with this, darling”, Captain Logan replies. “He will be better studying alone in his room without hanging out for this entire week until he passes the test.”

Yeah, he’s officially dead.

“But Captain Logan, I’m very sure this whole situation isn’t his entire fault because I know his physics teacher, the woman isn’t so kind and sweet, y'know”, Angelica expresses. She’s good. “I had some troubles with her when I was in High School, and I can help him to approve the test, I swear.”

It takes a few moments but after all her argue, Captain Logan accepts her offer for Ted’s surprise.

“With two conditions”, Captain Locan says a little bit too loud and bossy. “Nobody is hanging out to nowhere and he’s gonna studying with you here in the house while I’m working, until I return from work. Understood?”

“Yes sir!”, the both yell.

Angelica loves to yell like that when she’s in front of Ted’s dad. It’s something funny to do.

“I gotta go again, I’ll be back in the evening”, he looks at Ted. “Take care of your brother, Theodore.”

“Yes sir.”

Captain Logan gets out of the house and walks towards his car, leaving them alone again.

And when the vehicle is out of the sight, Ted takes a deep breath feeling calm at last.

“That was so damn close”, Angelica points, giving him a look. “Could we get into the house? I know we live in California, but the heat is gonna roast me alive.”

Ted laughs.

“C'mon babe.”

Angelica is gonna explain him physics an entire week and they will be alone a bunch of hours until his dad retirns of work every evening… Oh man.

Somebody send help please, Ted will be over for real because a single reason: a pretty and smart girl called Angelica.

What was the last thing you painted? Gabie got me two paint-by-numbers kit and I started on the first one last night – it’s an image of a countryside village with a beach. What is bothering you right now? My dog peed on our rug and I don’t have enough paper towels to clean it up, grrrr. Now I’m relying on my usual urine solution and just a shit ton of hair dryer heat to make it go away. If something has taken the magic out of life for you, what is it? My professor, who recently put the fate of my thesis at stake. Are you an artist? Not at all. Are you who you want to be? For the most part, yes. I know I take small steps to be that person.

Who has been harassing you lately? 1) That’s a heavy word, and 2) given that it’s a loaded term, I don’t think there’s been anybody doing it to me lately. If so I’m definitely going to have to confront them. What's your favorite thing to do on a rainy day? Make myself a cup of hot chocolate or coffee, curl up on the couch, and either take these surveys or watch something on Netflix (mostly Friends, but I can watch other stuff too haha). Do you ever dance in the rain? No, I hate getting caught in the rain and becoming wet. Do you like thunderstorms? Love them. How are you feeling today? A little content now that we get to just stay home after a couple days’ worth of Christmas shenanigans. We just got a Switch, and I can finally resume my new hobbies... life is pretty good right now I’d say, thesis issues put aside. What is your favorite book series? The only ones I took seriously and was a fan of were Septimus Heap and Percy Jackson – a little confusing considering I dislike the genre they’re part of these days hahaha. But yeah I did enjoy reading the books.

I was a fan of Septimus Heap WHILE the author was still publishing each book, so unfortunately I forgot the plot of what happened in the most recent book I read, but kept buying the new ones anyway. What ended up happening was that I bought the 5th, 6th, and 7th (final) book without ever catching up or remembering what happened to the last book I read in full, the 4th one. Do you have a mother you can talk to about anything? I think she thinks she’s that kind of mom, but her track record has shown me that she’s more judgmental and/or conservative than not, so that has kept me from going to her to talk about personal stuff.

Do you have a youtube channel? If so, what is it? It’s my real-life name, and I only use that ~channel to subscribe and like videos. Did your mom teach you how to do make-up and hairstyles, or did you figure it out on your own? Gabie and Sofie taught me how to. Do you watch Liv and Maddie? No, I don’t. Which stereotype do you fit the most? I’m one of those people who can fit anywhere, tbh. I’ve been a loner, I’ve been in the misfits group, the nerd group, the sports fans group, the popular group. I dunno where people would put me in. Do you have any dreams that you have set aside? Other than my dream of going to the moon, which will obviously never happen lmao, no. Have you been through trauma? I always kinda do around Christmas. Do you pig out on sweets when you're stressed? No not sweets. I prefer savory, greasy stuff when I’m stressed out. Would you rather have all girls or all boys? All girls. What is your favorite unisex name? I recently found out I have a cousin named Elliot, and she’s a girl. I always thought it was meant as a boy’s name, but ever since I saw her and found out she’s super talented and pretty and does cosplay, the name as being unisex has 120% won me over. Do you make smoothies? I do not. What's your favorite magazine? I don’t really have one. Do you feel you have a family? Sure. Just not an emotionally close one. for 5 facts about the cuddler fic:

1) someone asked this in the comments of the fic but i’ll put it here anyway: louis eventually does quit his cuddling job for harry. harry doesn’t ask him to, but he gets very jealous when louis has to go off and cuddle another client that’s not him and louis can tell, so louis starts looking for other jobs without telling harry and when he finds one he quits his job as a cuddler. harry finds out after like, two months of louis quitting. in my head it goes something like this:

“so lou,” says, harry, trying very hard to seem casual and cool and not at all jealous. “you haven’t told me about any of your clients recently.”

louis doesn’t look up from his computer. “well,” he says, “my client has curly hair and a fuckload of money. but sadly he’s a twat.”

“hey that’s mean,” harry says, rolling his eyes. “and i wasn’t asking about me.”

“maybe i wasn’t talking about you,” louis shoots back mildly. “you know, your ego is really getting out of control.”

harry huffs. “whatever.” he sits beside louis on the couch, and immediately, louis curls around him, his head on harry’s chest. “but don’t change the subject. tell me about your clients.”

louis is silent for a few moments. and then, “i don’t have any other clients.”

“pardon?” harry cant have heard that right.

“i said, i don’t have any other clients,” louis says, louder. “you aren’t going deaf, are you?”

“you…don’t have any other clients,” harry repeats, wrapping his brain around the situation. “why?”

“you quit…for me?” harry can’t stop the smile spreading on his face.

louis takes one look at him and huffs. “you know what, i already regret it,” he says, but the pink is still high on his cheekbones. “clearly he doesn’t love me back because he didn’t even know i fucking quit my job. you think if i call snuggle buddies up they’ll take me back?”

“no no,” harry says, his cheeks hurting from grinning. he tightens his arms around louis. “please don’t.”

“i’m not even getting paid,” louis complains, trying to pull away from harry. “i’m an exclusive cuddler now, cuddling for one client, and i’m not earning anything anymore.”

….anyway it ends with harry eating louis out on the couch as “payment” and also to shut him up. because cuddler au harry and louis are the second most sexually active of all my harries and louies (yes i even think of these things i h8 my brain)

2) contrary to what people think, louis is an amazing cuddler. he does have other clients aside from harry and he’s very professional about it. he’s one of the more popular cuddlers on the website because he’s very gentle and nice and professional. but he took one look at harry, saw how uncomfortable this incredibly famous pop star was (and he also saw how quietly sad and lonely he was) and really just decided to pull his pigtails until he snapped. louis tomlinson therapy style.

3) i dont think i ever mentioned how louis met niall and jeff in the fic, so it’s like this: after niall booked louis for harry, louis always texts to confirm where and what day they’re meeting. so he texts niall (because niall put his number when filling out the form) and niall tells louis to meet them at a coffee shop somewhere. there, louis meets niall and jeff–jeff makes him sign an nda, and then after niall gives him harry’s number and brings him to harry’s house. niall was supposed to stay to introduce them but harry ran late and niall had to go so he told louis to help himself and louis did lmao

4) the rolling stone article at the end was supposed to show a tracklist of harry’s new album if i could fly, including this one bonus song called ‘i want to write you a song’. that didn’t make it there because i was stupid and dumb and i forgot to put it in before publishing. and then after publishing, i was too lazy (editing those articles took a lot of effort!)

5) the recurring theme/quirk in this fic was that louis was an insomniac who has a lot of trouble sleeping, more so in strange places. i think i made it very explicit (albeit very jokey) because i wanted people to understand that this was a boy, who has trouble sleeping–bordering on insomnia, really–and the last scene, he’s asleep peacefully in harry’s arms, in harry’s bed. like i wanted louis sleeping to have impact. i dont think it did lol but in my heart it did.

++ bonus fic fact: harry’s wifi name is marco and his password is polo. i have a scene written all about that.

Both of us were sobbing; it was a horrid gritty sensation; and both of us temporarily lost the ability to smell bc of that shit. My mother came rushing in; and I blamed it on my niece, and got away with it... Yeah. Don’t do sherbet or drugs, kids, it’s fucking painful.

Part 4 / ?, now with pets and vampire stalkers.

Once again this is a long and image-heavy post, but at least this time some of the images are of a cute Sim kitten. I finally bought all the updates for Sims 4 so goodbye to all my spending money for this month, but now I can play it again.

I was super excited about getting Kinatsuen a cat, but I wanted them to have the exact cat I picture when I imagine them having a cat so I couldn't adopt any of the stray kitties or any of the ones on the computer. So I just made her as a kitten in Create A Sim from the Manage Households option, since there was no other way to do it... but we can say, for story purposes, that they went out and adopted her.

Their new gallery portrait. En looks like he's about to pass out. She's too cute for him to handle.

I also changed Atsushi's aspiration to Master Chef and Kinshirou's to Soulmate, because I felt bad having En make progress on his aspiration while they were stuck longing for a family. (Also they weren't getting all the useful satisfaction points you get for doing aspiration things.) Once they've finished these aspirations, I'll give them the original ones back.

I start playing the household and

She’s so adorable, though. She is an affectionate, clever, and friendly kitty!

Atsushi admires her cuteness. This seems like a place for a Lion King joke, but I don’t want to detract from the cute.

It's late so they all go to sleep. Hou-chan follows Atsushi into the room to sleep near him even though she has her own bed al;sdkf I'm just... really charmed... I love her...

She's so needy... wow. My other Sims' pets aren't like this at all. The affectionate trait is powerful. (But it's cute!)

Kinshirou fixed a broken sink, and now he's rummaging through the discarded bits for useful parts. I took this screenshot just because it's such a strange sight.

He’s pissed off that he had to do something so disgusting. Poor baby.

There’s a big market for Kinshirou’s thoughts on etiquette.

I wish I'd bothered to come up with custom names for the other two books now because it's funny to see things like this but oh well, I guess. He was still learning! His titles weren't very good yet.

This painting perturbs me. Hou-chan is the only saving grace of this screenshot.

Fuck. I hate chance cards. H a t e. ...All my legacy Sims and my City Living girl would set up in the street (if they were in the painter career), because they're all that type. But I think En just wants to give up... An excuse not to work, what could be better...

En's laziness worked out for the best this time. It's a shame about the money, though. They're a bit broke.

Before work, Atsushi makes a bunch of quick salads so his boyfriends don’t have to cook. (That is to say, I’m working on his new aspiration.)

Kinshirou and En have a date scheduled, but En comes home tense from work (even though he earned his salary, despite what that chance card result said). So he goes to join Kinshirou in meditating the tension away before they leave.

Sadly, Kinshirou gets bored, and the TV bores him even more because the action channel just isn’t cultured enough for him. You can’t make this stuff up, I swear... And by the time he’s over it, En is asleep. So their date is postponed. There are no screenshots because I was hoping they'd get it together and I wouldn't have to go into so much detail lol

But Atsushi gets promoted! So the night isn't a total waste. He's a mixologist now.

I don't know why he doesn't have glasses in his work outfit, by the way. I didn't design it.

His hours are even worse than before, from 6pm to 2am. But he gets three days off now instead of just two, which is a relief.

Meanwhile, Hou-chan loves her little toy bird so much that she wants to take it with her everywhere, even if that means she has to glitch and walk around stuck in it.

Atsushi, savior of kittens.

Atsushi wants to play with her with the wand, since that seems safer, but she wants to use the litter box. So he follows her into the bathroom... Let her have some privacy, Atsushi...

Meanwhile, En paints a masterpiece-quality painting! Aside from being necessary for his aspiration, that's just really cool!! I'm proud. Not sure whether to keep it because it's pretty or sell it because it'll sell for a lot...

Nothing really to say here. This is where the camera ended up when I exited screenshot mode, and I thought it looked pretty so I took another screenshot.

I put it in Atsushi’s bedroom because his bedroom is a bit bare. It can live with the Enatsu painting.

Okay, well, En is off to work, but Kinshirou and Atsushi can go on a date, at least. They decide on a nice, classy dinner date at a restaurant I built for them. It’s as boringly built as everything else I’ve done before now (I’ve learned how to build cooler things but it came too late for some of the buildings in their save...) which is why I didn’t take a screenshot but it looks okayish on the inside, I suppose.

LMAO... I forgot I gave him that suit... oh my god... he looks so proud. Atsushi is politely keeping his thoughts to himself.

They're shown to the one semi-private table in the establishment. Probably because Kinshirou is from a good family, even if they themselves don’t have much money.

Gosh, they’re cute.

(I am really, really sorry for those little lightbulbs and plus signs and sparkles. They signify that a lot trait is having an effect on a skill that a Sim is building. They’re incredibly annoying in screenshots, but there’s no way to turn them off. It eventually occurred to me to get a mod for it, but only after the end of this post...)

It takes their food some time to arrive, but at least it gets there, which is more than I can say of the last time I tried to go on a restaurant date in TS4. They don’t mind. It gives them lots of time to talk! Something about Kinshirou’s drink puts him in a flirty mood...

En comes home from work while they’re out. He got a promotion, so he’s in that bizarre outfit again. Luckily, I don't have to see it except in his little portrait at the bottom left.

To put the finishing touch on an incredible date, they kiss passionately on the top floor of the restaurant.

Kinshirou makes this face when Atsushi first grabs him, but he gets into it.

Looks like I spoke too soon.

Kinshirou got sick on his date, and now he's itchy. Hm.

Their reward for such a good date! It’s just decor, not actually drinkable. If all goes well, they'll have these littered around the house eventually.

Kinatsuen receive an evening visitor, a friend of Atsushi’s in another save where I recreated demon AU but emphatically not his friend in this one. Fortunately, they're smart! They know not to invite a vampire into the house.

Less fortunately, Kinshirou is outside expanding Atsushi's garden. Maybe, he thinks, if he stays off to the side of the house, his dazzling gold suit won't catch Vlad's eye.

But the medicine has made him energized, and he needs to get all that energy out somehow. Kin-chan, sweetheart, not in your nice suit... although maybe ruining that suit would be for the best.

En and Hou-chan just became friends! She must have been giving him advice on his painting. ...Also I forgot to change him out of his promotion clothes.

Now that the vampire has left, Kinshirou is free to return to his kitten.

She is honestly unbelievably cute.

Atsushi comes home from work, exhausted and reeking from a night behind the bar, only to find that he can't even sleep in his own bed. His boyfriends missed him so much, they went to sleep there themselves.

En's bedroom may be messy, and he may not ever put the condoms and lube away, but it's closer than Kinshirou's.

Must have been a rough night. En still thinks he looks hot, though. Sometimes having a slob for a boyfriend is a plus.

Enatsu and Hou-chan morning domesticity. En is addicted to painting, I swear. Mixologists and bars aren’t as bad as En and his easel.

His second masterpiece is even prettier than his first. They're both impressionist paintings so I suppose Sim En is an impressionist painter. That suits him, I think. Unfortunately, painting a masterpiece means he'll go to work in a confident mood when he'd be better off inspired, but you can't have everything.

Again... Why is it always En who gets in trouble at work...

My headcanon is actually that En wouldn't judge, but, since that's not an option here, he would want to talk about his passion. En is always ready to share his thoughts.

THAT'S RIGHT. Although it's a bit sad because I still think En would defend her, if anything.

Atsushi needs to improve his mixology for work. Instead of making yet another drink for himself or wastefully practicing and then throwing out the results, he makes a pet drink for Hou-chan. :D

The window for Kinshirou to sell his books to a publisher. A screenplay about the magical boys’ revenge will definitely fly off the shelves, I agree.

No story value, just cute.

With Atsushi at work, En and Kinshirou decide to check out a community lot (not as a date). I actually made it for Atsushi, but... he'll get here someday. Basically, one of the expansions introduced all these food stalls and a bunch of recipes (honestly like 20+ in total) that you can learn how to cook only after tasting them. But it's hard to track them all down in the places the game initially put them because they rotate, so I just made a foot stall lot.

Unfortunately you can only have so many stall vendors on a lot at a time, so it'll always look like half of them are closed... But I'm still proud of it? I think it's a cute lot with nice Kinatsuen colors, and it'll help Atsushi to have this one place to go to. I'm proud of all the lots I built for them, actually, even if they’re often not very interesting-looking.

The moment they arrive, Kinshirou goes straight to the Japanese food stall without the least bit of prompting from me. En chooses some spicy Vietnamese food, but by the time he gets to the table, Kinshirou is already halfway done with his dango. I want En to get used to spicy food ASAP because it's out of character for him not to be able to tolerate it. It wasn’t until I started watching them eat that I remembered Sims also have to learn how to use chopsticks... En, I don’t think that’s now they work.

En: Kinshirou, help! Help me, it hurts! My mouth is on fire!! Kinshirou: Ahh, that was so good... such delicate, mild flavors... :’D

En is grumpy because he wants a vacation, even though they literally got back from one like a week ago. I think this is one of my all-time favorite screenshots just because it's the opposite of what would be IC for them.

Luckily, I put some bubble blowers on this lot, so he can relax a little. Don't make that face at me, En. This is for your own good.

...En put in the flirty flavor that makes you angry if you choke, and Kinshirou choked on his very first blow. I guess it's not such a surprise, though. The bubble blowers are basically just game stand-ins for drugs, and Kinshirou would be the absolute worst person to get high with.

Kinshirou: Ow ow ow ow ow! That hurts! En: Yeah, how's it feel, asshole?

En: Wait, shit, ow! Kinshirou: You deserve no better for taunting me.

Kinshirou’s face is adorably pinched and angry here. But En is angry now, too, so they go home and go to sleep, after losing some friendship points. That didn’t quite go according to plan. Tomorrow night will be better.

En took some pictures of Hou-chan and put them up on Simstagram (lol) and !!! I've never had a pet get so many followers immediately like this. Everyone loves Hou-chan.

I shouldn't have complained about En always getting in trouble. Now it's happening to Atsushi too.

Atsushi is annoyed that his coworker would steal and put him in this position, but he would rather just keep quiet to avoid a confrontation. Maybe someone else will handle it...

Still better than causing a scene.

They're finally out on a date! Making identical pleased expressions. Kinshirou's taken En out to a museum because he's a cutie deep down and he knows En will like it. I didn't build this one orz I meant to make them a museum but I turned it into an arts center instead. En will enjoy that more, but he needs to look at things in a museum right now for his aspiration, so...

Their animations continue to be creepily in sync as they admire the artwork.

It looks for all the world like Kinshirou's just made a dirty joke about the painting they're looking at, but...

...this isn’t the sort of work that would make Kinshirou think naughty thoughts. It would take even En several seconds to make an innuendo out of this.

But then Kinshirou autonomously offers En a public massage... Maybe he's just in a mood.

They spend the rest of the date in that room, mostly on that couch, sitting and talking. So there’s not much to say about it. But it’s awfully cute.

Sadly. they have to go home early, because En has to work the next morning. He would rather just quit his job, but Kinshirou won't let him.

He doesn't want to let on to En, which is why he's walking behind him, but he’s ready for the date to end. He’s exhausted.

The collection grows.

(I know one is more forward on the bar than the other. It's not my fault. I don't understand the rationale behind slot placement in TS4.)

Guys! Guys! stop eating! Pay attention to Hou-chan! She's just a little kitten and she's lonely!

Kinshirou is writing my fanfiction for me so that I don't have to. Although I suppose that means he's writing about an alternate world where he and his boyfriends live in a fantasy setting with some dude named Arima, and this Arima guy gets romantically involved with them all.

(I don't actually intend to have a sequel to Veil named Kidosen. I just wanted him to write a sequel and that's the title that came to mind.)

Their house, the most boring-looking house in the world, but now with two boring stories! I promise, when they move onto a bigger lot, I’ll do better.

The triad decided to spend some of their hard-earned money on a home addition. Their bedrooms are on the second story now and they have a bathroom with an actual bath in it (this was half the purpose of the remodeling; it’s a tragedy for them not to have a bath). Atsushi's kitchen is slightly nicer as well, with a better fridge and some aesthetic improvements. But the household now has exactly §301 to its name. No interior screenshots because the only really new thing is the bathroom and it's not exciting enough to be worth a screenshot. The bedrooms are almost exactly the same and the upstairs landing is completely empty because they ran out of money. The most interesting things here are the sad, neglected plants...

Atsushi, savior of plants (as well as kittens). He still needs to work on his herbalism. He’ll get to that at some point.

This is the problem with the goddamn bar. You tell a Sim to start mixing drinks and suddenly it's all they want to do. As soon as he stops needing to level mixology for his career, that thing is getting sold.

Even Atsushi himself dreams of a day when he can rid himself of the bar. He is trapped.

At least Hou-chan is proud of him. Or maybe she just wants another one of those pet drinks.

Atsushi suffers from a moment of self-doubt. Is he doing the right thing, encouraging Hou-chan to drink? She's only a kitten...

But she looks so happy.

Yeah. He made the right choice.

Atsushi doesn't have work for a couple of days, so he has time to relax and chat with Kinshirou while Hou-chan communes with her ball and takes a nap.

Atsushi: (Okay, time to try that pickup line I read...) So, Kin-chan... what underwear are you wearing? Kinshirou: Atchan. Please, spare us both.

Meanwhile, that lady who makes weird art bothers En at work again, and he comes out on top again. Maybe she should give up. Luckily for her, he should get promoted today.

Atsushi is sick. :C He's trying to meet his death with brave stoicism and honestly judging from how he looks I don't blame him for thinking the worst.

But all he has to do is take some medicine! All better. Time to go find Kinshirou and celebrate his return to good health, if Kinshirou has forgiven him for that pickup line.

Why is he making that face in the middle of WooHoo... Dare I even ask... Kinshirou, I would have thought you'd be more experienced by now...

Then again, Atsushi is completely satisfied afterwards. So maybe he liked it.

I feel like I go on about how cute Atsushi's Sim is but honestly they're all adorable. Also, this screenshot made me realize they just WooHooed with a window wide open looking down onto their street.

Like... he doesn't even go to work in those clothes. I don't get it.

But as you can see he got promoted! He's now an Imaginative Imagist, whatever that means. The painter career doesn't have the most informative job titles.

He honestly doesn't even want to be in the official painter career. He can't wait to get given a super nice easel so he can work from home like Kinshirou, who, by the way, is making the most money by far out of the three of them right now. I suppose that's fitting.

...He and Atsushi wanted to have a date tomorrow, but now that he's been promoted, he has to work. :\ Atsushi's due for a promotion too, so I guess they’ll see in a couple of days what his new schedule is like.

On the other hand, En gets off work an hour earlier now, and Atsushi still doesn't work at all tomorrow, so maybe they can have their date anyway. They were just planning to hang out at home anyway, in true Enatsu fashion.

It was at this point that the My First Pet stuff pack was released, and, well, long story short, they have a hedgehog now. Guess what its name is?

Don't do it, Kinshirou. Don't fall for it again...

But he goes to find Atsushi afterwards, just so that Atsushi knows he still cherishes his friendship more than he does a hedgehog.

Hou-chan has something to say, loudly enough that Kinshirou is startled.

Kinshirou: What's wrong, Hou-chan? What is it? Hm? Hou-chan: *sad meowing ;-;*

She needs attention, it turns out. Kinshirou is happy to oblige her whenever she wants. Unfortunately, En is lost in his art and barely even noticed her meowing.

Atsushi has made his first foray into gourmet cooking! He's pleased with the results, but he wishes his boyfriends were here to enjoy it with him.

Better late than never. Look how happy he is! It's like in episode 11 when he's feeding the defense club his curry.

I didn't quite manage to get a screenshot of Lilith at the door, but why do vampires keep knocking on the front door after dark?? It's scary. Maybe the boys just smell delicious or something? At least there hasn't been a vampire break-in, I suppose.

Hou-chan is suspicious of Zundar...

...and WISELY SO what the fuck??? What did they do to Zundar? What does this mean???? I have literally no idea. It popped up just as I left the home lot, so if he did something to trigger it, I'll never know...

While En is at work (orz), Atsushi is taking a trip to the newly-opened Arima Community Garden. They need some people to help do some preliminary work like planting before anything can be harvested.

(This is my way of explaining away gameplay limitations in terms of storyline. I made this lot so that Atsushi didn't have to run around the world finding things to plant, and also so that I had a place to put my modded insect spawners. You need insects for herbalism, but I didn't want to fill their home lot with bugs. But you have to have your Sims plant things on community lots, even if you put the seeds there with a cheat.)

While Atsushi works on the garden, Kinshirou learns chess from a very red individual named Kengo Fujita who's a member of what is essentially a chess club. Maybe they'll become friends! Atsushi wants to hold a dinner party soon to show off his cooking, so the three of them need friends, or at least people who'll accept an invitation.

Atsushi is working hard, but it’s a big task.

Eventually, Kinshirou resigns himself to getting dirt stains on his clothes and steps in to help.

Gardening boyfriends! Kinshirou looks like he's ready to stab himself with that spade. The light has changed and the shadows are longer. They’ve been here for a while. En is home by now, hopefully having a nice nap.

It’s late by the time they’re done. For dinner, they have hamburgers from a plate some stranger left on the table. That’s not what I would do myself, in their place, but they both survive it.

A solid day’s work! But it’s past midnight now and they just want to go home. Don’t judge me for the terrain paint, I did my best.

En is a sweetheart and waited up for them. In the background, Hou-chan remains vigilant.

That painting right there is a masterpiece worth almost two thousand Simoleons. En has an amazing talent.

At work, Atsushi once again refused to report that the cash in the register was low, and it once again got taken out of everyone's tips. Whoever did it the first time must have learned that they could get away with it.

Wtf he's back

They know they're being hunted.

Kinshirou: Perhaps he'll go away if we pretend that we didn't hear the bell. If he has no hope of getting inside... we need to act as though we think we're alone. En: Sure. But how do we do that?

En: Oh, I get it... I like the way you think.

Vladislaus: *watching through the door* They're completely oblivious to my presence. Amazing.

En: We might as well make it convincing, right? Right? Kinshirou: Is this something that interests you, then? Being watched? En: What if it is? Vladislaus: I can't believe they haven't noticed me. Their front door even has windows.

En: What are you into, then? Boyfriends should talk about stuff like this, right? Kinshirou: Oh, well... there are a few things, I suppose... Vladislaus: This is absurd.

En: Mm. Actually, why don't you tell me later? Kinshirou: Wh— oh... Vladislaus: *peers through the door, trying to get a better view*

Vlad is a pervert. Wow. I never knew. No wonder he and demon AU Atsushi are friends.

It worked!

Kinshirou: Oh, thank goodness. Maybe we should invest in some garlic braids. En: We can talk about it later.

This is such a sweet screenshot. Kinshirou can already tell that En is planning some sort of mischief, but he's so relieved that the vampire left before Atsushi got back that he's just amused and indulgent.

Oh, no... with all the vampire scariness and relieved WooHoo, they forgot to refill Hou-chan's food bowl...

Atsushi is a line cook now! Look at his fancy clothes! He must wear contacts at work. (That's my excuse for why he doesn't have glasses in his work outfits, and I'm sticking to it...)

His work days haven't changed, although he starts and leaves work four hours earlier now, so he won't be getting home at 2am anymore. He and En won't have a day off in common for a few more days, assuming En doesn't get promoted again in the meantime and get another schedule change. But they'll get their date. They’re determined, and so am I. If all else fails, Atsushi can take a vacation day and En can call in fake sick, and they can hang out with Kinshirou all disapproving in the background.

With the day's salary and his promotion bonus, they're able to expand their house again!

A boring deck to go with their boring house.This is the real reason for making a second story. More than the bath, I wanted to have room for a deck so that they could have a hot tub. :D They now have a grand total of §10 so it's a good thing they have lots of leftover food.

When will they move into a new, less ugly house? When will En get to quit his job? Will En and Atsushi ever get to go on a date? Will there ever come a day when I don’t end one of these posts with a question about En and Atsushi? What in God’s name did that notification about Zundar mean? I don’t know the answer to any of these questions, but we can find out together next time.
