I tried to include at least one song from each of them, there are a few that didn't make it to the list not because I don't like them but they don't quite hit that specific spot that scratches my brain.

i still think about that one video where awsten knight says that he asked dallon weeks to record background vocals for "fruit roll ups" and i dont know why but ive always been trying to incorporate waterparks into an toh au. as it being my favorite band-- and like ykkkk with every era waterparks does, awsten dyes his hair the color that the album corresponds with.

hes done green and purple. but the purple era came before green. what does his name rhyme with? oh right. amity blight. awsten knight. yk yk.... anyway.

dallon who is idkhow... and this was before the whole scandal happened unfortunately but in this silly idea i literally have hunter and luz in a silly little band called something else but its basically idkhow's music because it feels hunter-coded(???). like idkhow's razzmatazz album feels "Bi boy depressed theater kid" and i cannot explain that but yeah.

but basically, like its luz and him in idkhow tinfoil band. vee being there on the sidelines being a helpful photographer (I FORGOT WHAT SHE DOES BUT ITS LIKE THE SIBLING TRIO.) and basically the three work a dead-end warehouse job (projection lmao) and then go to Eda's bar after work on little sleep to perform at her open mic every other night when she hosts it. luz being the drummer n stuff. because they have a dream and like theyre SUPER passionate about it.

waterparks- irl meanwhile between their second and third album (entertainment and fandom) had a shitty ass thing happen with their record label where they literally stole the rights to their masters.

^ so that feels philip wittabane coded to me in my idea. he would steal record label masters.

somehow raine is a host of the label that amitys (the "waterparks" band) band then goes to sign with after. with a lot of time between. (of course, theres a bit of adjustment there because the entertainment era was purple hair and fandom was green so it wouldnt in theory work 100% with amitys canon hair with that logic BUT HEAR ME OUT--). so, in a meeting amity miraculously finds herself at Eda's bar (fine timing because guess who's preforming teehee-) and like "oh wow shes pretty cute i suppose-" then somehow after the mic closes, she goes to talk to luz for a bit.

and while still really directly unsigned amity wants them to open for her band (again- amitys band but in waterpark's tinfoil coding. its her, gus, and willow).

MAYBE amity overhears luz humming while on tour. MAYBE she asks her on tour why she doesnt sing ever and why hunter sings instead. so like a bit of back-and-forth vibes but it goes on to amity indirectly "accidently" writing a song about luz because whoops.

(btw its telephone if you even ask. telephone by waterparks is so themcoded. i will not debate that. its sappic coding.).

and then like- "kiss goodnight" by idkhow (listen. i will fight anyone who says thats not THEIR song. THAT IS THEIR SONG TO ME. ITS CANON THAT ITS THEM CODED). anyway luz writes "kiss goodnight" as a response unironically. and its just those gay fucking vibes. like idk what to say here. its them being like "yes but does SHE like me???" meanwhile those bitches are literally writing songs about one another without like them being like "oh shit thats... about ME???" oblivious as its finest.

so like... yeah. later on amity asks luz to send her some harmony samples for fruit roll ups, and she objects and is like "why dont you ask my brother???" and amitys like "i want YOU to do it."

blah blah blah anyway luz and hunter get signed (i know nothing about record label shit but basically raine takes them on.) and yeah luz and amity get together.

im sorry but like rn im having such brainrot of an idea i thought of months ago while looking up band au stuff. and like i know for a fact that it will make sense to literally no one because of how random my brain is but fuck it. my blog, my rambles.

Im not excusing any racist or homophobic behavior. I will say it think the insistence on buck being Bi is a bit of main character syndrome. Buck is introduced as the protagonist in s1. We follow his narrative first. Yes the show does focus in whole cast more so later on, but it started with Buck. 

As far as @athenagrantnash point on Eddie. I think some of that stems from the narrative hints? Buck is always the one who gets mistaken as gay, or Chris 2nd dad. We don’t get that with Eddie in any way. Maddie teased buck about Eddie. Eddie’s family does not tease about buck. Sure Eddie is finally getting his moving on romantically arc, but it’s not queer coded like bucks. Bucks was tied into his identity via 1.0-3.0 buck. Identity in romance is pretty queer coded?

 I’m hoping im making sense, but basically buck has a narrative focus the others were not given. But also to your original point… don’t hate the show for a lack of representation because a queer relationship of color where they actually have kids is so rare! Like mad respect for the show. Also all the other minorities and and relationships with representation! Also don’t hate love interests for being a love interest? Cool? Cool.

As to actually replying...

First off, Buck is introduced as A protagonist, not the protagonist. This is literally Angela Bassett’s show. It’s an ensemble cast, which means they are all important, but it’s not an ensemble starring Buck. It’s an ensemble starring Athena. Case in point, on the Fox website that only those of us who can lose their jobs if we breathe a word about spoilers can get on... the headline/banner photo for the show is a picture of Athena. Just because the layout of the pilot episode started with his scenes first (because hello? stolen firetruck? that’s gonna get more eyeballs on the screen) doesn’t mean it stars him.) But I digress...

I also don’t know how to explain this without seeming rude, so please accept my apology beforehand.

But listen... Buck is not constantly being mistaken as gay. The ONLY time was when he and Eddie took Chris to see Santa, and since that is usually a thing that PARENTS do, obviously the lady was going to assume that. And this random stranger is not owed an explanation by him, plus he’s comfortable in his sexuality, so... why bother?

As for the scene with TK... that was TK referencing HIS canon relationship and making a joke about it, NOT him joking that Buck was into guys. Josh and Maddie snarking about hooking him up with Buck was about JOSH being gay, not Buck!

And as a bi person, I’m actually a little bit offended that people assume because they make a joke about a canon gay character in Buck’s presence it means that Buck is bi!

His arc is NOT queer coded, it never has been! His arc is literally no more queer coded than Eddie’s, but because of... and again there’s no way to say this nicely... a lot of the fandom’s fetish regarding Buck’s sexuality, they are interpreting everything through “queer coded glasses”. The only reason a lot of people perceive his arc as queer coded is because of their obsession with making the white boy bi (which as I said in my post... is becoming a problem).

while the term “bad person” is a suggective term that can have very different meanings depending on who you ask, im just going to assume you mean “just a generaly dislikable person for any reason in particular” as most often do

tl:dr, i dont think shes a bad person, per say, and am cutting her a lot of slack due to being young, but i do think she should express her opinions differently and should also get new friends because wow that crowd is so toxic i need a hazmat suit to get close to it.

i dont really know much abt her aside from what i saw from an incident a while back, plus some other things i saw floating around my dash via word of mouth and some longass game of telephone with my own occasional check at her blog. her most major thing seems to have been some encounter with kiingcorrobo [i genuinely cant remember how the blog is spelled so im sorry :pensive:] and her thing abt seamoon. lets talk about seamoon first, then well talk abt the other stuff.

anyway while im personally a little more biased to dislike her [she did apologize for what she did however so ill try not to let this cloud my judgement overall] and because shes a minor like i am [and if i remember correctly around my age? maybe older but im unsure and i dont feel like goin to her blog rn] im not going to be as harsh as i usually would be when dealing with just some random person on the internet whos an adult. because children wouldnt know better either way.

anyway i do personally believe that her opinions abt seamoon are valid but she could possibly go a better way about it.

her whole issue with seamoon is. fine. i get it, you dislike a ship due to personal reasons, you dont owe anyone an explanation aside from “i just dont like it” and as long as youre not a dick over it, i dont see the issue.

i do think she could go about it differently [she once said there was no proof? i think? dont quote me on that my memory is bad] and that it could just be “ohh a best friend stare” despite how heavily its hinted at [i remember that one a lot better cos it got me a little miffed ngl] and like. ok. fine. just acknowledge that its very strongly hinted at and then go on your way, you dont need to insist its not real.

i have repeatedly seen people get angry and violent with her over this. yes, she definately could have gone about expressing her opinions better. yes, she shouldnt disreguard any sort of wlw rep or coding because she doesnt like it for whatever reason. ill admit that much.

but that does not, ever, at all, make it okay for people to have treated her, a CHILD, presumably, the way they have.

people are entitled to their own opinions as long as it isnt harming anyone! and if someones opinions seem a little off, you dont immediately attack them, especially if theyre someone thats young and probably dont know the full extent of what theyre thinking. you tell them what theyre doing and why its wrong or just iffy in general, and help them grow from that. we are human, humans naturally grow to better themselves when given the chance, and if theyre never given a chance to grow from the past, then they cant ever grow up. if you want her to grow up, then give her a fucking chance. 

now. lets talk abt the kiingcorobo thing.

from what i know; someone told kiingcorobo that she supported whitewashing and was homophobic, i believe.

now, im not a person of color so i am not really inclined to talk abt whitewashing, all i can say is that its terrible and fuck anyone who does it, like honestly if you whitewash u have. no rights.

so i cant talk abt this topic much aside from; whitewashing is terrible, dont do it, but i personally have no idea when she [pony] mentioned it at all and honestly im not too willing to go searching thru her blog fo hm. actually no im pretty hung up on this brb

lgbt people can be homophobic! wow! doesnt matter if its internalized or youre just genuinely an asshole, lgbt ppl can in fact be homophobic. bi/pan ppl, gay ppl, trans ppl, no one group of the community is completely pure from that. thats just a fact.

however, due to the issues shes had in the past with the seamoon thing, i do think ppl are just taking that as her one defining personality trait. theyre probably seeing that n twisting it wayyy outta proportion.

thats my general thoughts on her and wow this is way longer than i had originally hoped and this reads more as an analysis of her as a person rather than my general thoughts but. eh what can you do.

oh but i do think she could get better friends lmao, shes in such a toxic crowd and for someone so young i feel genuinely so bad for her.

what i dont understand re the lesbian flag is--why is the rainbow one insufficient? bi people of all genders share a flag, same for trans folk and ace folk. im not saying that lesbians shouldn't have one, good for you, but it's so recent (and still unknown for the vast majority of lesbians worldwide), and yet when it's not automatically included people scream at OPs for not knowing about it or being confused that lesbians and gay men don't share a flag, like literally every other lgbtqia group.

actually, no. the rainbow isn't even the gay flag. it's the LGBT community flag - so unlike everybody else, we don't have a unifying symbol. or, well, we didn't before.

but the rainbow covers everybody. you can be bi or trans or etc. and wave the rainbow as your flag too. why aren't we asking everybody why they need a flag? why the rainbow isn't good enough for them?

I'll tell you one thing. the reason lesbians need one is part of why the L is seperate from the G: we don't have just one gay community. lesbians not only have different experiences and needs and activism than gay men, lesbians also require spaces away from men specifically. we are our own community.

people of all genders of any select orientation share a flag - but just because we share the label "gay" doesn't mean our orientations are actually the same. lesbians and gay men are literally attracted to exclusive genders. that's not the same thing as being a man or woman or nonbinary and sharing a flag with people who are attracted to the same exact genders as you - it's completely polarizing at times. other than a shared label and similar oppressions, we have almost nothing in common as communities! we don't like the same people!

and we (the LGBT) as a community have always relied on imagery and symbols, and rallied around them - lesbians are no different in our desire to do that, nor our we unique in our ability to code with our colors and have pride in them. but whatever your identity may be, I'm sure you are well aware of the benefits of having a community flag.

i guess my question for you is: why must lesbians be different from every other community? why are we the only ones questioned? why are we the only ones told to settle for the flag that everybody else can use?

frankly, I've stopped giving a damn about these kinds of inquiries because they come off condescending and rude. lesbians face quite a lot of fucking erasure, and it comes off like another attempt to bury us from view when we get this constant questioning over us having something as simple as an individual flag: the same thing other individual communities have.

when we can't even get people to say the fucking word "lesbian" i do not give a shit on anyone else's opinion or questioning over us having a flag. we WILL be seen, and everyone will have to deal with it. people aren't afraid of saying "gay" the same way, and you see the rainbow everywhere. there is a reason we feel the need to be specific, and part of it does have to do with feeling obscured by the broadness of the rainbow. our flag puts us directly in people's line of sight where they can't ignore us, or act like we're anything but what we are. isn't that the whole point of flags, of pride?

(on the non inclusion thing - yes, it did bother me before how mad people got, but that doesn't have much to do with the topic of us just having a flag. but frankly, our flag is better spread now than even the pink one was and not even near as controversial, so if people can't be assed to make a simple google to find our flag, then there is definitely a problem there, and it goes hand in hand with the erasure problem.)

TL;DR: we want a flag that shows specific pride in loving women and being gay, and the rainbow does not express specifically that. the rainbow covers the whole community, not just ours, and not just our pride. there should not be controversy or even confusion on us wanting to express that.
