I still can’t believe they had Dorothy sing What’ll I Do in the most wistful, heartsick way as Blanche listens on, and then had her leave four episodes later.

Like, they picked a song that goes:

What’ll I do with only dreams of you /

That won’t come true /

What’ll I do?

And then Blanche ends the episode telling her You’re beautiful. When you sing, you light up a room.

And then four (FOUR!!!) episodes later Dorothy gets married and leaves forever. I’m going to go feral

I KNOW it doesn’t mean anything. but man.#just… this song. sung in such a sweet heartfelt moment. all the attention on her singing.#and Blanche just complimenting her in the most sincere awestruck way #you IDIOTS you’re not jealous you’re in love!!!!!!!!!!!!#and then Dorothy leaves. just like that. and Blanche cries because she’s abandoning her.#like. do you get it?? do you????#even without the dorothy/blanche of it all I mean #they already knew by that point that bea was leaving #so to have her sing THIS song so close to the finale… god. my heart.#oh you thought I was done? you thought I’d just post my half-essay and go back to being a normal person?#im going to be posting about this show for the rest of my LIFE #the golden girls
