#yes I know that I installed 3-prong outlets with 2-prong un-grounded wires#did lots of research on this#talked to the home inspector and two electricians#and it’s fine#obviously it’s not the BEST because there’s a reason why the world switched to grounded outlets#if our house gets struck by lightning it’ll fry everything that’s plugged in#and obviously there isn’t the shock protection#we’re using GFCIs near sinks etc#apparently that still provides shock protection#but it’s really zero difference between using the old ugly 2-prong that’s not grounded versus the 3-prong that’s not grounded#and we don’t have 30k to drop on re-wiring our house#and even if we did we’d spend it on ripping out the carpet and installing hardwood floors lmao
