Ikevamp headcanons after watching Hamilton
Quick disclaimer: Yes I know this is a show about people who had owned slaves and slavery is bad. Having said that there's a reason why we suspend disbelief for a couple of hours and just allow ourselves to be swept into the story. I also love Phantom of the Opera but I also am aware that this is a story that involves an abusive and toxic relationship. The point is that I am aware that there are problems that needs to be discussed, but I still love the music, the story and the shows okay. This is just fan content not meant to be taken seriously and is just for fun. Okay? Now let's proceed.
I'll be doing Will and Arthur first since I'm currently doing Shakespeare's route and was inspired to do this after MC watches Romeo and Juliet with Vincent and I was wondering how Will would react to watching Hamilton. And Arthur is here because he is my husband/main lover. I might do Mozart and Napoleon next.
SPOILER ALERT: For anyone who hasn't seen the Disney Plus version of Hamilton, there might be some spoilers here (unless you already saw the show or know the story that is).
General Scenario:
You don't know how but Le Comte was able to get the filmed version of Hamilton, a musical which you've told Sebastian that you've been dying to see but was never able to because tickets were always sold out and entering the lottery was going to be a little too expensive for someone who lives in Japan and who doesn't exactly have the money or the time to simply fly to New York if in case she won. You were also excited because apparently Le Comte was able to modify the 21st century tech room that you use for your online classes and was able to get a wide screen and high quality surround sound which made you appreciate his efforts. A part of you was also curious as to how the other residents would react. You were scared that some of them might take offense, especially Napoleon who knew one of the characters in the show in real life. Would they react weirdly for seeing people different from them portray people that they knew? You were also wondering if they might even appreciate some of the 21st century slang that you and Sebastian would sometimes slip back into whenever it was just the two of you alone. After talking it out with everyone and explaining a few more things (like how its probably going to be different since it is a series of captured pictures-or at least that's your closest analogy- being played super fast with the synchronized sound of the actors- or what you were almost tempted to call "Techno Magic") during a dinner in which Shakespeare had decided to be present in, they were actually interested in what this show is about. Napoleon convinced you that he's fine and actually someone else playing Lafayette might even help with the suspension of disbelief since its been awhile since he has last met him anyway. Will even mentioned that while he has read and heard about stories from America, this is probably going to be the first story or production he's going to see from it. The only one who showed any hesitation - to no one's surprise - was Mozart, since he is attached to the kind of music he is familiar with (aren't we all?). But after prodding from both Jean, Le Comte and you giving him the puppy eyes, he finally relents. The day comes when everyone was once again free and for practicality everyone decided to have a meal first so that they won't be hungry during the show and also for you, Le Comte, and Sebastian to explain a few things everyone else may need to know to truly appreciate the show (like how the Presidential system and elections worked during the setting, what the word "Rewind" means, what is beatboxing, etc). So finally everyone gathered into the tech room after the meal, the lights were dimmed and once everyone was settled, you hit play. And as self-predicted of you, you find yourself crying in the end.
William Shakespeare (I'm still doing his route so please don't hate me if I get him wrong. Also no spoilers please).
- He was a bit shocked at first by how exactly up close you could see the facial expressions of the actors as well as the various ways it would cut to another person. He could now understand why you struggled with trying to explain how its played in a theatre but not exactly like the theatrical experience. But as you saw in your periphery, by the time Philippa Soo sings her first line, Will had already adjusted and allowed himself to be an audience and shut off his director and actor mindset (for the most part at least).
- While he didn't specialize in musicals, he found himself paying attention to the story of "the ten dollar founding father without a father." He knows how music could help both the actors and the audience in succumbing to their emotions in a scene and to suspend disbelief from reality. In his productions the words are not overwhelmed by any score but rather complemented to bring out the emotion he wants to evoke and for actors to show. Since many parts of the show has been influenced by the spoken word style without completely removing it from being sung, he has become enlightened with how powerful a show can be when it is done right.
- He not only enjoyed the story (especially the flow of it) and the production (especially some of the more technical details that the other residents hadn't noticed as far as a stage production is concerned), he loved that even the ensemble members had good acting and some of the onstage humor. One of the meta things he enjoyed was the obvious reference to his most superstitious work.
- Once you've seen how he loves analyzing the technical details of the production, you excitedly tell him about a special member of the ensemble who is known as "The bullet" among fans of the show. You could see him being enlightened as he watches the show with you again (this time with just the two of you) and he now sees "the bullet" and the way she interacts with the characters in a whole different light. He was so impressed with this idea that he may have adapted it into one of his new original plays (its not a copy paste of Hamilton's "bullet" but he definitely adapted assigning a member of the ensemble to have a special role that may not be significant at first, but he heavily notes that this member would have to be unique in interacting with any of the other characters).
- He didn't know what to expect from a 21st Century production but he found himself impressed with the prose and writing of various raps and songs. His favorite from Act 1 in terms of rhyme schemes was "Right Hand Man" and from Act 2 it was Jefferson's rap in "Washington by your side". And after settling down a bit his favorite emotional parts were "History has its eyes on you", "Hurricane", and "It's quiet uptown".
- He was impressed with how the double roles was given and how it actually is true for both of their roles in both acts. Ambiguity is one of his favorite things to have in a work, and he gives props to Lin for all the ambiguity he later realizes was in several parts of the show. If he and Arthur had been a little bit more closer, they probably would have bonded over the ambiguity Hamilton's comma in his letter to Angelica (see kids, grammar matters).
- A part of his brain wonders how the real life Hamilton would react to this and if him and Burr would still be enemies. But after some thinking he decides its not worth his efforts of asking anyone to bring them back since a wonderful production of their life has already been made even if it may not necessarily reflect who they truly are. He of all people knew what it's like to be inspired by great figures, it was fortunate that Lin Manuel Miranda decided to make a show about them before he had the chance to.
- You explain that in America Hamilton is one of the lesser known founding fathers of their nation and how it may be because his political opponents later on became Presidents and therefore was able to form the narrative. He becomes inspired by it and begins to search out people or stories who are hidden gems who may not be historically famous but had much more interesting stories than some of the ones he has heard of.
- Afterwards once you are sure that he has gotten comfortable enough with the genre you show him various videos of people rapping to his works and his reactions range from impressed to amused to "that's not what I mean when I wrote that" and you had to calm him down and explain that they can't hear him anyway after he started giving serious critiques on what the text means.
Arthur Conan Doyle
- While he was knowledgeable about many things, America's founding fathers was not one of them. He along with the other residents have gotten used to any rumors or exaggerated accounts of their lives and you and Sebastian have already warned that this is just a fictionalized production of the real person. As a writer of some historical fiction books he argued that he of all people was aware that any work based on history will speak more about the creators rather than the actual people they are writing about most of the time. He was nevertheless interested as to why you have become fascinated with the treasury secretary (and maybe it was with a twinge of jealousy that you began to expressly show admiration to another man even if he wasn't among the residents in the mansion). After all unlike many other residents of the mansion, on the surface it seemed that Hamilton was similar to Theo who mainly played a supporting but crucial role to his brother. He was thankful that you didn't hold it against him and was comforted that you were in a similar place. You even told him that the only thing you really knew about Hamilton before listening to the soundtrack and watching "Animatics" was that he was in the ten dollar American bill.
- And as someone who has delved into writing historical fictions, this was probably one of the most entertaining productions about a historical figure he has seen. He's going to be honest with you in that at first he was wondering if revealing Burr shot Hamilton in the opening was going to hinder him from enjoying the show; but he was pleasantly surprised that this was not the case at all. As a matter of fact it now made him want to find out who the real Hamilton was (although a part of him doubts if the real Hamilton had any regrets at all). According to him, this is why as a fictionalized historical work, the show is a success because it makes you want to find out more about the events and figures of the story (even if it means looking at darker realities that they did). And while the real Hamilton may be a lot different from what was shown, with all the things he went through and all the things he has done (for better or worse), he now wonders why exactly Le Comte hadn't approached him since he seems to be no better or worse than the average resident ("He and Newt could probably discuss mathematics all day."). You then explained that his political rivals (Jefferson and Madison from the show, and Monroe who wasn't shown in the musical) had later on become Presidents and was able to shape the narrative away from Hamilton. "Ron Chernow made Hamilton's biography because he was the lesser known founding father who was fading into obscurity among Americans and Lin read the book and recognized the story of someone who has risen through his writings. And to Lin that was also the story of hiphop." While he wasn't involved in politics as much as Hamilton was, Arthur had enough experience to know what it feels like to have those kinds of people in power. He also knows just how powerful it is to be in "the room where it happened" and how sometimes the real decisions weren't being made in an office but rather in either a private party or the right bar when people in power had their guard down and were more susceptible to being influenced.
- He could relate a lot with Hamilton on many things that he's only comfortable allowing either you or Theo to see. From being just so much more aware of death's inevitability coming for every living thing to survivor's guilt even though a part of him knows its irrational (but sometimes the emotional nonsense just overtakes our perspectives and actions). It's why he could understand Hamilton's need to write as much as he can before he dies. It's why for a time in his human life he had deviated from writing about Holmes and ventured into other genres. He could also relate to the need to prove what type of person he was, and how to go beyond his tragedies to serve people in their own ways. Hamilton did it as a soldier and the creator of America's financial system. And he is doing it as an informally practicing doctor and as a writer. It's a need that he's trying to mitigate since you've repeatedly told him that he doesn't need to prove anything to you or to anyone and to write whatever he pleases. But he also can't deny that it's still somewhere lodged in the back of his head.
- Just like William Shakespeare, in terms of the wordplay found in rap and the ambiguity present in the show and how those things were executed made him amazed and momentarily speechless. He was especially fanboying about "The comma after dearest" and how this essentially shows how important grammar was. It went to the extent that afterwards whenever he would write to you he would address you either as "My dearest, Y/N" or "My darling, Y/N" with special emphasis on the comma (sometimes you could see how there's more ink in the comma than some of the actual words. That's how much he wants to emphasize that you hold the title of dearest or darling). And you excitedly share with him some of the trivia knowledge of the show (like how in real life it was Angelica who originally made the comma mistake by writing to Hamilton as "My dear, sir" in one of her letters and it was Hamilton who was asking her what the comma means and even replied with "Ma chere, soeur") and how Angelica really did reference the Icarus metaphor in one of her letters to Eliza. And even though he wasn't a major musical nerd (he sang for fun), he would now join you in watching Howard Ho's Hamilton videos musically analyzing Hamilton (and would probably try to find a way to use this knowledge to annoy Mozart in some way).
- Speaking of music: Maybe it's because he's biased in his love for you but aside from Sebastian he's probably the one who has no qualms about the hiphop genre and was immediately into the various wordplays that rapping allowed. And because of this his favorite characters in terms of rapping are the ones played by Daveed Diggs (probably more than Hamilton himself even though you've explained that Lin is the one who wrote the whole thing). He even adapts to how Daveed as Jefferson would say Isaac's third law and incorporated it into his "let's tease Newton" kit. That's when you know he really loves Daveed Diggs ("Every action has an equal opposite -" "WILL YOU PLEASE STOP SAYING IT THAT WAY?! I didn't mind the first few times but this is ridiculous Arthur" "It must be nice, it must be nice to have a Newton on your side"). And his favorite character emotionally was Angelica (her raps in Schuyler Sisters and Satisfied may have helped).
- Speaking of the Schuyler Sisters, after watching it with you another time (this time with just the two of you) one of his favorite things to say is that you've got the best of all three sisters within you (Angelica's wittiness and intelligence, Eliza's cares for the more important things in life, and Peggy's humor) with the sexiness of Maria Reynolds. But because he sees all 4 of them in you he has the benefit of not needing to choose among them. Having said that there will be a period wherein he teases you if he makes you "Helpless" or "Satisfied" (and you respond either by kissing him or singing "That would be enough").
- Whenever you would sing as one of the Schuyler sisters he will join you as any of the male characters the moment he masters the soundtrack and could even sing it without the music. His favorite rap songs are "Guns and Ships", "Washington on your side", and of course "Satisfied". He also really loves "Non-stop", "the 10 duel commandments", and "The room where it happened". But his favorite sequence is from "the Winter's Ball" all the way to "Wait for it". Since it has romance, a shocking revelation, and gives insight to the perspective of the antagonist. He's also one of the first people to attempt to learn the choreography whenever he's in one of his mental blocks in writing. Of course he makes sure not to injure himself.
- He posts song lyrics to keep himself motivated in his times of mental block "There's a million things I haven't done. But just you wait" and "I'm not throwing away my shot" frequently appear around his desk.
-And whenever he's feeling low or insecure, just like Eliza you remind him to "Look around, Look around, how lucky we are to be alive right now."

Welcome Home
GLITTER & GOLD, CHAPTER 8 AND THE FINALE. You can find all other IkeSen/IkeVamp works of mine on my page. NOTES: AT LONG LAST. We reach the end. Thank you all for hanging in there with me. HERE @chezzkaa COME GET YOUR JUICE. TRIGGER WARNINGS: drowning, panic-inducing scenarios. Smut!
---
It took some jiggling on his part. The door was pretty well fused. Whoever fastened it in the first place meant business--and when he finally managed to kick in the steel frame, they finally knew why.
“Holy shit,” Masamune whistled.
It was once a standard workstation and supply closet. Whoever got to it afterward--no doubt after the blast and the worst of the fallout--had transformed its contents. A skeleton lay on a cot in the corner, cradling a pillow to its chest, apparently the victim of only old age and the gentle slip into death’s embrace. Around him, piled high on shelves and stacked across the tables, were the supplies of an old world.
“Seeds,” she read, picking through a drawer. “These are more valuable than gold. They’re native to these parts. I haven’t seen some of these ever, just read about them.”
Masamune opened a box. “Water filters, Life Straws, radiation tests--”
She cradled her face in her hands and released a laugh. It echoed in the tight quarters. “That was the whole point of the damn ship. It was a beacon. It was leading people here for supplies.”
“See the ship, go for the source,” he mused. “Find the projector, get the coordinates, come here, get supplies that could kick start your settlement all over again. This man must’ve put in blood and sweat to get all of this together.”
“And we--” She threw her hands in the air, frustration and anger and relief and sorrow blending together. “People died for this.”
Masamune cracked open another box, revealing a huge stockpile of medical supplies: antibiotics, bandages, testing kits. True. People had died. He thought about all of the skeletons in the bottom of the well, of all the vanished and missing people. His father swam in his mind’s eye. If he held his breath and focused hard enough, he could still feel his father’s embrace.
“Yeah,” he said. “They did. But people are also going to survive because of this. And that’s what we have to move forward with. My dad’s death is what got us here. That’s what I’m going with. He didn't die for nothing. He lead us here in the end. I’m sticking to that.”
She gave him a tender smile, brushed the hair back from his forehead, and kissed him.
---
Going down was one thing. They still hadn’t sorted out the most important part: getting back up. They returned to the highest room, the door to the stairwell up leaking water.
“How bad do you think it is?” She asked.
“I mean…” Masamune sighed. “Wish I was better at math right now.”
“Mm?”
“I dunno. Mitsunari could probably calculate how much of the lower levels could fill with water and drain out the interior or some shit before it started getting dangerous.”
She fixed him with a wide-eyed stare. “That’s smart as hell on its own.”
“Not if we don’t know how much space we have to work with, Kit.”
“Even then.” She paced around the room. “We can drain the upper level into the lower level, as long as we keep all of the doors open. We didn't close any of them further down, so we’ve got at least that to work with. If it gets too high, we can bail out into the central chamber. Without cinder blocks on our feet, I imagine we could probably tread water over to some ladders. There has to be a service ladder out there.”
Masamune chewed his lip. So soon after almost drowning, he wasn’t keen on getting back into the water. But… well, they didn't have a bevy of options, did they? There was always the chance that the others would track down where they were, but could they figure out they were in the well and still alive?
No. Probably not. In their shoes, Masamune wouldn’t assume anything of the sort.
“Alright.” He gathered her into his arms and kissed her forehead. “I’ll open the door over at the stairs. You stick by the main chamber door, okay? The second the water starts really rising in here, you punch that button and get out of here. Hold onto the cinderblocks for support until you can get out.”
She eyed him balefully. “You’re giving me the job you think has the highest rate of survival.”
He knew she was too smart to fool, so Masamune just shrugged. “I made a promise.”
“No.” Fixing him with an intense frown, she gripped his hand. “We’re doing this together. We get out together.”
Masamune sighed. “Kitkat--”
“Don’t ‘kitten’ me right now.” She jabbed a finger into his chest. “We’ll drain the stairwell together. You’ll need the support from the cinder blocks for that, too. If you get washed down the lower chambers, even if it turns out alright, you could drown regardless. We’re getting out together.”
He hadn’t considered that possibility. Finally caving, he grabbed her wrist and kissed it. “Dunno how I can say no when you pout like that. You got it. You’re calling the shots.”
“You promise?”
“I promise.”
Together they set the scene. Masamune scraped the cinder blocks into place by the stairwell, wrapping the rope around his hand for support and bracing her into the wall to keep her secure. She flushed at his chest pressed to hers and didn't complain until he shot her a finger gun.
“You’re a disaster,” she moaned, swatting at his arm. “Be serious.”
“Figured you might want a little comic relief before we possibly die.”
“Masamune!”
“I know. I know. I’m awful. Ready?”
She inhaled and wrapped her hands around his wrists, swallowing hard. “I think so.”
Now or never. He considered again if this was the only way. Once again, his mind came up blank. The only way out was up. The only way up was through the water. The only way through the water was this.
He inhaled hard and shot a silent prayer to his father.
“Alright, Kitten,” he murmured, groping for the button. “Hang on to me. Three, two, one…”
The button clicked ominously, and the door rattled to life. Water gushed a torrent through the sparse opening. It was a small mercy that it didn't open too quickly; Masamune barely managed to brace against the pressure that crashed through now. She gasped and clung to his shoulders, wrapping her heel into the doorframe to stabilize them. The waterfall roared past them and down the open stairwells, shoving its merciless bulk inside. He could feel their makeshift weights scraping away from them, threatening to take them both with it.
Plan A was failing. They’d never considered Plan B. Masamune raced through his options. If the weight went, then he did, and so did she--
“Hang on to me,” he commanded, wrapping her arm around his neck. “Hold on tight, as tight as you can.”
It was a testament to her trust that she did without question. There would only be a fraction of a second to move. The door was still sliding upward, and when it was really and fully open, the pressure would be too intense to even risk this stupidity. Clasping her face tight into his chest, he urged, “Take a deep breath. Hold it tight, no matter what.”
He felt her lungs fill, his own alongside her. Two hearts, beating in sync. She won’t die. Not here, not now. All of the things he’d never let himself imagine about the future played in his mind’s eye--a house, Waŋblí Hoȟpi thriving as they watched on, the smell of bergamot in her shop and waking up tangled in her arms every day as they grew old and she only became more and more and more beautiful--
Deep breath. Don’t let go.
Masamune trusted her to hold onto him and used his free hand to grab into the door opening. It took all of his strength. The water threatened to peel him free, but he held fast. With a loud yell of effort, he pulled them both forward into the rushing tide, under the half-open doorway and into the current. Pull! With as much force as he could muster, he slung his arm to the side and caught hold of a pipe, yanking them into the space beside the door, trapping them against the pressure there. All of the merciless water crashed against him. It rushed up his nose and down his throat, choking him.
Don’t let go. Don’t let go. Crushing his panic, he wrapped his arms tight around her body and waited.
Seconds later--seconds that felt like hours to his frantic lungs and wheeling brain--the water level lowered and he gasped for air. At long last, it dipped below his collarbone, freeing them both.
“Damn,” she coughed. “How did you know that would work?”
“I didn't,” he admitted. “Just that the other way definitely wouldn’t. Are you okay?”
“Yes.” She shivered in the cool stairwell, but nodded, still holding tight to his chest. “Yes. I’m here with you.”
“Good.” He meant it. His sinuses were killing him from all the water, his throat raw and his muscles burning, but Masamune still stroked her hair. “That’s all I need.”
---
The rest of the walk up was almost uneventful. They passed through soaked rooms that time forgot, office chairs settled in heaps by doors. Near the top, they located the source of the leak. One of the viewing room windows was cracked. He was too tired to comment on it or care. Instead, they laced their hands together and moved forward.
Finally--after what felt like centuries--they neared the hatch to the top. Masamune inhaled hard and hefted a loose piece of pipe over his shoulder.
“Do you think they’re still out there?” She asked, visibly nervous.
“Dunno. We ain’t really got options, do we? It’s been hours.”
She appraised the ladder. There weren’t any other options. Someone had to go up first. Masamune rubbed his thumb over her cheek and planted a kiss on her mouth. “You know I’d do anything for you, right?”
Would he ever get over the shine of her eyes when she looked at him? Cupping her hand over his, she leaned into his palm. “Stare down a ghost ship that haunted you for most of your life, fist fight some cultists, almost drown, all on my account, if I’m remembering correctly.”
He shook the pipe meaningfully. “I’ll fight ‘em again, too.”
“Stay alive,” she urged. “Please. There’s so much more I want to do with you. There are ten thousand places I want to go with you, so many firsts…”
In any other circumstance, he would’ve made a raunchy joke. Now--now he just nodded. “I got you, Kitten. I’m sticking around just to see that through.”
The space in his hand was cold when he withdrew, the ladder rough and rusty on his palm. His boots clanked hard on the rungs. Would the hatch even open? That was a good question. Masamune fiddled with the draw back and found it responsive. Where would this even deposit them? Back into danger? Straight into a fire fight?
Fuck that. He was staying alive. He was staying alive for his dad, for all the people that drowned before them, and for a future with her.
Masamune drew back the latch and snapped out of the hole.
The orange rays of morning stretched in the sky, blue-grey clouds drifting by. Over the cornfield came the sharp sunlight. What a terrible vantage point. It blinded him; cupping a hand over his good eye, he winced and braced himself, charging out of the hole to keep from losing the advantage of surprise.
“What the hell--!”
Everything swam into view. The well, the house, the red truck. At his feet lay the body of the older man that had sacrificed them to the water only hours ago, and standing before him--
“Hey!” Masamune laughed, swinging the pipe to rest behind his neck. “You guys tracked us down!”
Nobunaga physically restrained Ieyasu from attacking him, Mitsuhide releasing a low whistle of shock. Hideyoshi sat heavily on the lip of the silo and cradled his head in his hands. Even the Takeda-Uesugi party was there, looking equally surprised.
“Wow,” Yukimura managed. “We--we thought you were dead.”
“Nah.” Masamune reached down into the hole and helped her out, bracing her wobbly legs against the hard earth. A cool breeze rushed around them. He could smell the far-off mountains and the prairie grass, the clean air. She shivered and he pulled her tight, rubbing her arms to warm them. She was safe. She was safe, and that was all that mattered. “But I tell you what--we’ve got a hell of a gift for y’all, that’s for damn sure.”
---
They weren’t allowed to help with retrieving the items from the silo. Ieyasu all but banished them back to the bedroom in the little yellow house, his unbridled rage the surest gauge for how honestly afraid he’d been. Nobunaga stopped by just to let them know that the items in the Ark were invaluable, that the Takeda-Uesugi and they were working out an arrangement to split them between the two settlements and prosper, and then to order them to rest.
“Shit,” Masamune laughed, barely pausing from wolfing down the breakfast Hideyoshi had thrown together. “Are we doing orders? Didn't know we were a military outfit now. Should I call you ‘sir’, too?”
Nobunaga smiled that imperious, impossible smile. “Perhaps. That would fit.”
Truth be told, Masamune didn't need anyone to order him to rest. His body screamed for it--and, more importantly, she looked utterly exhausted. They collapsed into the bed upstairs together only seconds after changing from their soaked clothes, limbs tangled and limp. When he woke, the sun was high in the sky and streaming through the curtains, her mouth pressed into his chest.
Wow. He carded a hand through her hair in silent reverence. He’d traveled all over the nation. He’d seen impossible things and incredible mountains, forests and oceans and lakes, and yet--here, in his childhood home--she was the most beautiful thing he’d ever laid eyes on. She stirred under his attention and his heart swelled.
“Hey, Kit,” he murmured. “Still tired?”
She scrunched her nose and murmured assent.
“Go back to sleep, then. You ain’t gotta go anywhere. We can keep sleeping.”
But she shifted nonetheless. Her hand danced up his collar and neck, rested on his cheek and pulled him in. Would he ever get tired of these lips? Masamune didn't think so. She was impossibly gentle, thousands of good memories and promises of the future hanging on her mouth. He could taste them on her tongue, his own brushing against hers. She moaned into him and his whole body flushed.
“Damn, babe,” he chuckled, flirting his fingertips over her shoulder. “Can’t make those sounds if you want to keep sleeping.”
She smiled and hooked her fingers into his pajama waistband. When her eyes fluttered open, they took his breath away. They were like the deep earth of the vast plains, the lifebringer in this land. “I was going to keep sleeping, but then you just had to wake me up.”
“Wake you up?” Electric sparks of desire pulsed in his stomach. Masamune buried his nose in her neck and lapped along her skin. “You were the one that kissed me.”
“Damn. I guess I got caught. My ruse is up.” For all her words, she didn't seem too sorry. Her hands tugged at his pants, revealing the curve of his hip to cool air. “However will I be punished for my lies?”
Masamune laughed softly against her. “Punished? Is that what you want?”
“Not exactly.”
He didn't need her to clarify. They both stripped each other instead, exchanging slow, long, tender kisses, his thumb trailing all over her until she gasped and wriggled and blushed. Her waist curved perfectly into his. His arm fit like a puzzle piece in her lower back. When he thrust inside her, the leg she slung over his shoulder rested comfortably there. All the thousands of miles he’d put between him and Waŋblí Hoȟpi, and here she was, the other half of him.
He would never run again.
“I love you,” he murmured, pressing her hands back into the bed with hers. She curled her fingers tight into his. “I’m never letting you go. I love you, I love you, I love you.”
Her kiss was grace itself. All of her soul was there. He could feel it, singing through her breath, as if he were sanctified. How wrong she was. She was the sanctified one. He felt it in the gasp of her breath and every sweet beat of her heart.
“I love you too, Masamune Date,” she murmured. “Welcome home.”

Author Interview
Thank you for the tags @dear-mrs-otome, @otonymous and @assomoir. I read your interviews and am glad to know my head isn’t the only chaotic farm of disasters around here. (You all are amazing and I love your works!)
[Thank you to (two) fave fandoms for helping me make this a colorful post.]
Name: Faa/Pickle (your choice!)
Tumblr media
Fandoms (past and current): The Otoge Picks: SLBP, Cybird’s Ikémen Series [Eng], MLQC, Shall We Date: Obey Me, Ayakashi Romance Reborn, MysMe, Okko and Arithmetic games  Anime: cramped up, centuries worth of titles but my main is Gintama. Others: Doctor Who! Hannibal! The Haunting of Hill House! (Unwilling) Shadowhunters lurker.
Want to do in the future: Brilliant, soul-sucking money sucking otome games coming out every year and I’m weak to them all! I’ve also had a dystopian, sci-fi (and romance) piece tucked within my WIPs collecting dust for... 6 years now. WELP.
Note to self:
Tumblr media
Where You Post: Here! And... I have an Ao3 but no links y’all xD I’d like to keep that account buried like the geeky teen period of my life. I still post to Ao3, though!
Tumblr media
Most Popular One-Shot: Looking at my works on both tumblr and Ao3, I’m not quite sure but my recent, surprisingly well-favored piece has been “Obey (Punish) Me, Master!” (Mammon/MC)
Most Popular Multi-Chapter Story: According to Ao3 stats, that would be my “To Love A God And A Devil” series!  (Ikémen Sengoku: Nobunaga/MC/Kenshin). I’d change a lot about it now, if I wasn’t so lazy but it is a piece quite close to my heart.
Favorite Story You Wrote: Ah, a difficult question. For you see, I don’t really love any of the stuff I’ve put out over the years. Self-derision plus breaking down the elements of a story over and over after it has been done and posted; I eventually start feeling as if none of them really turn out as great as I thought they would.
Tumblr media
If hard pressed to name one, based solely on my level of excitement and nervous energy while I was writing it, I’d go with “Flight” (Nobuyuki/MC). Ironically, it is also the story that got me my first and only onslaught of ‘bad’ feedback.
Story You Were Nervous to Post: Hands down, these head-canons right here for Theodorus Van Gogh and his Autistic MC. I wanted the people who read these to love her. I was downright shaky, nervous laughter/sweats.
How You Choose Your Titles: .... (furious WIP scrolling for suitable words, serious contemplation over posting something without a title and then deciding against it, slapping on a random one at times)
Tumblr media
Completed: No idea! The IkeVamp community has shared so many of their lovely ideas, thoughts and requests with me that my works on tumblr alone.... ah, I have lost count. Ao3 tells me I’ve got 26 works up, though (not counting the few series I’ve done plus one multi-chapter work).
Incomplete: See above (introductory words) for reference to a Hell House (my brain).
Do You Outline? Yes, I do! I’d be lost and that WIP would most probably end up in the Void, otherwise. Cannot do the impromptu word dump at all like some of my very amazing friends here. I am in awe of all of you, dear writers!
Tumblr media
Coming Soon/Not Yet Started: Keyword: FEBRUARY. I hope you guys will love and support the surprise as much as I’m excited to drop it on you.
Other stuff I have planned, ranging anywhere in between a vague idea and a half completed WIP: Do Mammon get the V? Do Lucifer let him survive? What happens to the hondje man and that one flirty British klootzak when thrown together into a messy, terrible idea and blended into perfectly questionable puree? Also see: We are Bi for Kae(de).
Do You Accept Prompts? Most of the time, yeah! I burned myself out a little last time requests were open so I’m taking it easy for now.
Upcoming Story You Are Most Excited to Write: I’m screaming it. I’m bellowing at the top of my lungs. FEBRUARY, folks! Please stay tuned. I cannot wait to share further details!
Tumblr media
What do you use to edit? Boring ol’ hands of mine and a Word doc. It doesn’t get any fancier.
Writing setup: Let me just laugh and cry here a bit because: The bed. Lying down. In the kitchen. In the hospital in between shifts. In the dark (because my bed partner is cranky and does not care for my smutty endeavors as I burn the midnight oil).
My life’s chaotic around the clock so this pickle can most definitely butter up those documents with thirst in any and all environments.
Do you use a beta reader? Nope.
Random Story Time: Someone did  ‘offer’ to beta my work for me, once. After they had finished pointing out the mistakes in one of my works, explaining in great detail, just how out-of-character my writing was for that particular piece. Yeah, sorry about that. Not angry, folks. Just insert me being shell-shocked/pikachu meme here.
Tumblr media
Where do you get your writing inspiration? When I’m supposed to be asleep. Reading stories in-game. Also while daydreaming (a lot).
Can we get a quote from an upcoming WIP? Nothing exciting to share from my WIPs at the moment, but here you go:
Gloved fingers plucked a stray strand of hair before bringing it up to his mouth in a kiss. “I entrust him to you, little one.”
She smiled at him in response before he canted his head; fingers delicately cupping her chin before he kissed her, feather-light and gentle, letting the sweetness of his mouth linger on hers a moment longer, before he pulled away.
Softness, veiled, lingered behind in his gaze as he whispered, “I’ll see you tonight.”
She managed to speak, despite the fire in her cheeks. “You will.”
Also have this bonus (?) Itaru Chigasaki excerpt which will most likely, never see the light of day:
Itaru’s hands are busy at the controller, a complicated flick of digits too disastrous for you to make sense of, eyes glued to the screen in front, as he hums and haws out intelligible words.
“I’ll fuckin’ murder you like the dog you are, then dump your entrails across the lands.” You’re startled by the vehement delivery of his character’s dialogue, blinking owlishly at him, before you recover your wits. “That… is good.” You praise. Perhaps letting him practice along with his games wasn’t too bad of an idea, after all.

Anyone else here who’d like to do this, please tag me. ^.^/

Author Interview
Eeeek! I was tagged by @alloveroliver and @claire-maccarthy Thanks for the tag!
Name: My blog name is listed as Ruka, but my real name is Bekah so you can call me either. When I first made this blog, I wasn’t comfortable sharing my name online but now, I don’t mind.
Fandoms Now:
Ikemen Revolution, Ikemen Sengoku, Ikemen Vampire, Obey Me, Nightmare Harem, Several Shades of Sadism, Midnight Cinderella, Romance MD, Star Crossed Myth, Kings of Paradise, Scandal in the Spotlight, Kissed by the Baddest Bidder, My Wedding and Seven Rings. Probably a few more that I’ve got on my phone and log into once in a blue moon.
Want to do in the future:
Any of the Cybird games (they own my soul and wallet), So many voltage games I plan to start in the future, too many to name.
Where you post:
Mostly tumblr but I have an Ao3, Fanfiction and wattpad account (under the name moriartyswife)
Most popular One-Shot:
“The Cost of War” I wrote this one for the Ikemen Discord Writers and it’s definitely one of my favorites as well.
Most Popular Multi-Chapter Story:
“And So They Met” which stars my little baby Alara at 6 years old coming to the mansion under bad circumstances and being adopted by Comte and the boys.
Favorite Story You Wrote:
Can I choose? As far as one shots go, Made a Made is by far a favorite of mine. Multi-chapter... how can I choose between my babies!? Personally, I love The Red Army Princess and The Black Army Mischief Maker. I have to name them both because there made as two sides of a coin, my first ikerev next gen. Eden and Finley will always have a special place in my heart.
Story You were Nervous to Post:
All of them  I could probably say Telling Luka. It’s a mini series about Emery dating Luka and getting pregnant with Jonah’s baby. I was afraid of how it would come across. It seems to be pretty popular so that’s good.
How You Choose Your Titles:
It’s a roulette, I throw a dart and just go with it... Just kidding. I try to make all my titles have some meaning within the story. It might be a description of something that happens, or have something to do with the character themselves. Most of my titles tie in to the story. Sometimes with one shots, it’s just word association, but typically, I try to make them mean something.
Completed:
I have 141 One Shots completed.I do have other things for other fandoms posted on my other writing accounts, but for this blog, that’s all I have for now.
Incomplete:
I have posted 77 chapters of various multichapter fics. All of those and add in the amount of OC’s I have in the works which is over 100 (not including all the ikerev next gen babies). Plus, I have some one-shots and requests to fill so I have a lot coming up.
Do you outline:
Yes and no. Most of the time, I wing what I’m writing. I jot down ideas and things that might happen in the future of the story when they come to me. It’s less of an outline more like a pile of notes that I forget that I have until after I’ve written it. I do get ahead of myself when I’m writing, so I’ll grab a little piece of paper and write down some dialogue or scenes that come later in the chapter. And there are rare occasions were I’ll write out an entire chapter, but that’s very rare.
Coming Soon/ Not Yet Started:
I have 3 new Ikevamp Ocs coming in the next few weeks. Amelia Earhart, Mina Van Gogh, and Asha. I’m not sure what order they’ll come in, but they’ll be making their debut soon.
As for Ikerev, Atticus Kingsley is getting his story, which I’ve been nearly completed with for a few months now. Also, my witch Sage is going to be having her first chapter published.
Also there are some Voltage fics I want to publish. I have a romance md first chapter for Hosho’s daughter but I’m unsure if I’m going to post it. Some star crossed myth and Kings of Paradise are on the backburner but I want to post them as well.
AND OBEY ME! I’ve already made 12 ocs for the game and I have a few stories started. My little succubus is definitely my favorite.
Do you accept prompts?
Yes, but I rarely do them. Sometimes if I get in the mood, I’ll start working on them but I just have so many ocs and stories to work on that requests get forgotten about. That doesn’t mean I’ll never do them, it just means that it will take a while. I used to stress about requests a lot. Please feel free to send me a request as my box is always open but I don’t fill requests often. It’s a little hit or miss, because I switch between what I’m obsessively writing, so you kind of have to catch me with whatever I’m posting the most about at the time.
Upcoming Story You are Most Excited About:
Mina Van Gogh! I’ve worked super hard to make the story as accurate as possible, doing research. It’s a story more focused on platonic relationships at first, although she does have a suitor (Charles) but that is not in the foreground in the beginning of the story.
What do you use to edit?
A human being. I don’t do near as much editing on these fics as I do with my original writing. Unless something needs a major overhaul, I simply write what I want and check for mistakes before posting. If I’m looking for a word, I’ll google and search through the Thesaurus for a synonym. Nothing fancy here.
As for actual program that I write with, I used to exclusively use word. Now, I tend to use Tumblr and save the post as a draft. It’s super easy to access from anywhere and I can type on my phone if I want to. I’ve made the mistake more than once of tumblr glitching and eating my posts, so it’s not the most ideal situation..
Writing Set up:
Up until July of 2019, I exclusively sat at my desk. I get distracted very easily, so having a workspace that I only used for writing worked wonders for me. Now that I can’t sit for very long in hard chairs (thanks herniated discs), I usually sit in an arm chair with a little box to put my feet up on.
Most the time, I write with headphones in and listen to piano/instrumental music. Occasionally, I’ll pick one song that fits the story but I find myself singing along and getting distracted if there are words.
Do You Use a Beta Reader?
I have my best friend read over for any mistakes, so I guess, yes. Sometimes if she is busy, I’ll let Word read it out loud to check for missing words.
Where Do You Get Your Writing Inspiration?
From everything. Reading, other writing, tv/movies, real life. I’ve said before that a lot of the speech and actions of the children that I write are based on things I’ve witnessed while working for 10+ years with young children. Talking about the fics with friends also helps. They can help to figure out an ideas.
I would say that a lot of the time, it just comes to me. I’ll be writing something completely different and then an idea will come to mind about another character or story. Like poof, it’s there.
Can we get a quote from an upcoming WIP? Have a few!
Obey upcoming fic:
Verena knew how incredibly lucky she was to have his attention, his touch. Though he cared for all his incubus and succubus but never had he done this. Observing and critiquing, but not joining. “Lord Asmodeus, I-um-”
“No, no. All I want coming from these lips are those sweet, delicious sounds of pleasure.” Golden eyes were filled with delight. This was new, a succubus a completely blank canvas begging to be painted in his colors. Her mind lingered in a muddled state of uncertainty. “I’ve not used an ounce of my charm and yet you’re grinding your hips against mine, clinging to me tightly. You don’t want me to let you go.”
Her cheeks flushed red. It was like she had turned on autopilot, unable to stop her own body from wanting to drown in him. “Please…“
The word drenched in absolute urgency for more.
Ikemen Revolution New OC: Wren Blackwell
“Uncle Fenrir! Uncle Ray!” The ten year old’s voice echoed through the small building laced with surprise and joy. Abandoning his schoolwork for a chance to spend time with his two uncles. Amber eyes sparkled up at the two. Rarely did he get a visit from his family.
Fenrir beamed a grin at him, accepting the welcoming hug. “Reece, ya got taller!” He stopped by any time he came down to the ports, pitching in to help if Wren needed it.
Which meant today must be business. Never did Ray come by her work without warning. Placing down the files in their proper piles, Wren maneuvered through the chaos to emerge from the office. “Reece, you can go out for a break.” She didn’t want him to hear any military discussions, lest he want to join.
“Come on, I’ll buy ya a treat if it’s alright with your mom,” Fenrir offered to the eager boy, glancing to her for the okay.
It was like looking at two needy puppies. “That’s fine.” As Reece raced out the front door, Wren called to the ace with a serious tone. “No guns this time. I’ll kick your ass if you even think about it.”
She received a salute paired with wicked grin. “Yes, ma’am.”
“This time?” Ray questioned, emerald eyes moving from the vacant doorway to his sister.
Ikemen Vampire New OC: Juniper Haywood
Juniper tugged at the door handle, heels digging into the plush carpet as she put all her strength into trying to open the door. It refused to budge. Locked? Unlikely. It must have something to do with why the door only appears at certain times. Now, she was surely stuck until the stars aligned again.
Here’s what she knew.
The hallway led to a mansion. How? Unclear. Why? Also unclear.
In hindsight, there was very little that she actually knew.

Ahh, yes, yes, I almost forgot about that! Thanks, Dori! Bringing this here ~~
Name: @lorei-writes / @lorei-wrote; I have Ao3 account, but I haven’t updated it in so long
Fandoms: IkeSen, IkeVamp, Obey Me (kinda?) + some stray works were written for IkeRev
Two-shots: I generally lean more so towards writing at leat 3 parts, although sometimes the third one is added later (for that reason the number of two-shots shrunk somewhat recently). One example would be: Distorted  & Incomplete  (whichever goes first, suit yourself)
Most popular fics: That’s a bit tricky, since I post primarily on Tumblr and haven’t updated my Ao3 page in at the very least one eternity. Generally speaking, I would same Family AUs do well? Visible engagement wise, I would probably point towards Trials and Tribulations of an Unconsenting Time-Traveller. It is an odd thing in and of itself, but the thing that baffles me the most is that, despite low number of reblogs, it gets consistent number of likes and comments. Tumblr isn’t really friendly for series, and I do not have a set tagging for it, so it always puzzles me... And warms my heart. ^^”
Worst part of writing: Hmm... I don’t dislike anything in particular, but if I were to chose what I like the least... I suppose it would be writing scenes where placement of objects and people in 3D spaces is crucial, and the reader can’t fill the blanks for you? My imagination works in letters and symbols, so, well, I generally just draw those out on a piece of paper. Oh, although I am also very desperate when English lacks some specifics words from my native language.
How do you choose your titles? I try for the title to add to the story by either including one of the themes present in it, giving the reader additional information, or highlighting something. With that mindset, picking a title comes rather naturally? I generally have one by the time I’m finished writing.
Do you outline? No. I have given up on it. It is not for me. I generally have one or two anchor points which I want to definitely happen. They  aren’t necessarily important for the plot either, they may be just a dialogue line or so. However... I don’t think it’s necessarily bad? Whenever I choose what happens next, I think whether it will cross out my plans for the anchors. If it doesn’t, it is probably all right. Then I ask myself whether it will make my life harder when writing the next part. Whether I would need to include anything to make the anchor point more possible again. Aaand... If I do accidentally end up writing something that makes my job harder? Too bad, I’m not going back on it, now I have to figure it out, and to make it satisfying too.
Any ideas you may not get around to writing? There are always some. I generally just forgot them.
Any callouts at yourself? Sleep and rest more ffs.
Best writing trait(s)? Is it even for me to decide? As in, well, I can say what I feel comfortable writing and what I enjoy doing - but that is not a guarantee others will see it as my strong side too. If I were to be prideful... I would say that world-building?
Tangential opinion:
Feeling bad about your writing all the time does not necessarily mean you’re improving that rapidly. You may need more self-acceptance, or confidence, or... Ah, how am I supposed to know? You tell me.
Coming back to your old works and still liking them is fine. You are allowed to enjoy what you wrote. You can write primarily for your own amusement - I would even go as far as to say it makes for happier time in fandom.
You don’t need “big serious words” to write well.
Sharing works of others is at least just as important as writing your own.
Just chill and sleep.
Hmm... @spoopy-fish-writes @nad-zeta @oikame @venulus @nyktoon-in-otomeland want to join in? As always, no pressure, this one can take a moment to fill out.
Fic Writer Interview Meme
name: Sass (not my real name of course, but it's what I go by on here)
fandoms: NCT (all units), The Untamed, Killer and Healer, S.C.I., History 3: Trapped, Guardian, The Sleuth of Ming Dynasty, The Yin-Yang Master: Dream of Eternity, Criminologist Himura and Mystery Writer Arisugawa, Beyond Evil, The Devil Judge, Wuliang, Original Sin, Psych Hunter (these last 5 are fandoms that I'm in but haven't written anything for yet)
two-shot: I only do one shots or multi-chaptered fics. No two-shots
most popular multi-chapter fic: CSI: NCT (Subscriptions: 88, Hits: 18121, Kudos: 493, Comment Threads: 64, Bookmarks: 136)
actual worst part of writing: Fucking...writing? Like, having to put the words/scenes that you see in your head into words and onto paper? It's like, I know how it looks in my head but dear lord, having to describe that particular scene in words is fucking hard
how you choose your titles: My titles usually either come from the work itself or the work it's inspired by. Sometimes I will ask for help on here for title names, but not very often
do you outline: Sometimes? But only for like...really difficult prompts or story ideas I've never done before.
ideas you probably won’t get around to, but wouldn’t it be nice: I have many and I will get around to them eventually (keyword being eventually)
callouts @ me: Uh...to stop bitching about writing and just write? Like, that's how writing gets done is if you fucking write instead of bitch about it on tumblr, ya dumbass
best writing traits: I'm really good at writing mafia fics or detective fics. Like, because I have a B.S. in Forensic Biology, I have a lot of knowledge about how crime scenes work and autopsies and what not. Also because it's literally going to be a career for me, I make sure to do a lot of fucking research to make sure it's right. As for mafia fics...I just really like them and I will also do a lot of research for them so that they're good/accurate
Spicy tangential opinion: You don't have to follow all those writing advices that go around tumblr. Sure, some of them might be helpful but if you have a certain way of writing, you shouldn't change how you write just because a post says so. Take what you think that might be useful to you and then take the rest of the advice with a grain of fucking salt. Write how you wanna write and just be yourself in your writing. Readers can tell when you're trying to be like someone else
