Soobin composed herself well by the time she was in the van, back to normal. It was good to see Alex enjoying himself, but that distance had her narrowing her eyes. For someone who made such a big deal about him showing up as a surprise, he was sure making the effort to stay away from her. It's not like they were roommates or anything.

"Wow. Flies all the way out of the country and he's avoiding me," she sarcastically said out loud in the van, peeking at him where he sat towards the back with the other guys while she stuck with the girls, who giggled at her comment. It was all teasing fun by then, back to her joking ways.

She was invited to go out, but for once, Soobin actually passed. "I'm exhausted. We have the whole day tomorrow to have fun, I think I'll actually sleep tonight," she said with a small shrug. After doing a thorough examination of her hotel room, of course, in case Alex had gotten there before rehearsal and was trying to prank her.

Oh, that was priceless.

Alex had been aware that he had an effect on others; he was charming young man that his mother was proud of, despite being a little troubled with his past. It had been a while since he felt this exhilaration, the game of cat and mouse that had the possibility of blurring the line between friendship and perhaps something more. He was a teenager when his first love ended up breaking his heart, but they were kids then.

He knew now, and he supposed he'd thank his own fate that Soobin had not met him in the previous lifetime. But the questions still hung in the air like the Sword of Damocles. Would she hate him if she found out what his past had been like? Would she see him differently - dangerous like those from his past painted him to be? The memories were clear as day; a vivid replay of the plagues he and his family of that past had gone through.

He put those thoughts aside and decided to be in the present. He animatedly chattered with the guys, exchanging jokes and playful shoving as he rode with the crew to the hotel. He sat with the guys, keeping distance from Soobin like he normally did.

“Uh-- Who are you?” The fact that someone other than her or Tyrone was in the church in the middle of the night was genuinely a scary thing despite the fact she could very easily take them down.

Steve grinned unapologetically as he thought about all the times he'd called Bucky the exact same thing. "Well, your father can be a bit of a jerk sometimes. But I'm sure it hurt his feelings to hear it come from his little girl. What brought that on, anyway?" He could only imagine any number of scenarios, all of them involving the two being stubborn as mules - not that he could say much on the subject.

『★』 — Let’s just say that sometimes, only sometimes, Steve was exhausted from doing his job and only wanted some peaceful time for himself. He was just feeling so grateful that Bucky cut the meeting right away before everything turned into mess, so he could go away from the hall and finally went back into his own home.

“Home” perhaps was too much, as he didn’t usually spend too much time in this house but letting other creatures to take shelter inside. It was a safe place for everyone to hide themselves when necessary, including from mere humans. 

So it didn’t surprise him anymore when he felt something - or rather, someone - bumped into his leg and tugged his pants, wanting his attention.

“Why, greetings for you too, my little fox,” he gave a soft smile at her, simply crouching down to her level. “You seem in a hurry, why is that?”

"Mm...that doesn't sound good. I'd rather go anywhere but there. Actually, I'd rather stay home and stare at the wall than do that. What are you thinking suggesting that?" Amara asked, giving them a disgruntled look as she focused back on her coffee that was saving her from the fatigue she'd been battling since she'd come off of a two hour sleep.

She'd ended up taking a last minute job, whether or not she'd told them, and it took a lot longer than she'd anticipated. Now running on adrenaline and caffeine, and ignoring that her boss had given her half of the expected cut, she was irritable. "It really...might be better just to stay home tonight, anyways. I don't feel like doing anything."

Cap, what's one thing you learned about being a parent, that you never have known before?

“Oh, lots of stuff.  You talking about being a cat parent or a general parent?  Because let me tell you- Areum wouldn’t eat pureed carrot.  Any other kind of baby food?  Yeah, whatever, but pureed carrots.  Man, I wore that a lot more then I thought I would.”  He loved it though.

Sam actually makes more of an effort to stay in class all the time and not skip. However, Areum is also like his walking agenda. 

Areum and Sam both work at the bookstore at the college for extra money and so they can spend time together. But Sam is the one who will save up to break the “no expensive gifts” rule around Christmas, promise. 

Sam often helps Areum with art-related or history-related classes, since he is a nerd in both. She helps him with his science and math–especially biology. 

After a long day of school the two go to their routine hangout spot just like they did in high school, and on breaks they both travel together to see their families. They also have a similar group of friends, which allows them to hang around pretty much the same people. Both are not huge party-goers, but usually their friends drag them out to one, occasionally, which usually ends with them finding a corner and kissing. 

When they first started going to college, people didn’t realize they were dating, resulting in a few people asking both of them out. For Sam, this meant politely declining or wrapping his arm around Areum and telling the guy “I’m her boyfriend.” if he happens to be there.

He carefully accepts each gift, giving each kid a kiss on the forehead.  “Thank you.  Now run along and tackle your father for me.”

(areum) Okay, you're right. I'm his oldest daughter. AJ's older than me, and he's like probably kissing some other person out there. He's always worrying about everything. The only reason they haven't met yet, is well, because I can already see it. Dad's going to stare at him uncomfortably. Sam's a good guy. I mean, he's Nova, for fuck's sake. He's a superhero. Like you and Dad. How can anyone not like him?

Steve chuckled good naturedly. "Your father wants what's best for you, Ars, and you know that. I doubt he thinks about AJ out doing the same thing, either, but it's his job to protect you. Even if Sam is a hero, it doesn't mean he's infallible. Just look at your dad. Buck used to be a huge playboy, hardly appropriate to take home even if he could charm the pants off a lady's parents. I wouldn't want you dating somebody like him - or me. Just give them a chance together - let your father have a chance with him."
