Absolutely wild theory yellowjackets season 3

Travis and Shauna might hook up, causing hallucinated/ghost-Jackie return

They're both in mourning of people they've lost and that grief could connect them.

In season 3, they're back in spring/summer time and we know there's a return to season 1 dynamics:

Shauna was hooking up with Jackie's boyfriend (in an attempt to be closer to her)

Travis was a loner, not really a part of the group

"Hooking up in a blood stained death trap" where Jackie's bones are resting -> Jackie slept with Travis in Shauna's bed, Hauna could sleep with him nearby Jackie's remains to feel closer to her

Misty's obsession with Coach -> her S1 focus on Coach Scott could be paralleled with her S3 devotion for Nat, meaning Nat might spend less time with Travis now she's leading the group too

Teenage hormones -> there was a bunch of subtle moments with things like this in S1 especially compared to S2, and the thing we saw Travis grabbing from the burning cabin was literally a pack of condoms, so its safe to assume he'll probably use them at some point

We haven't seen yet if Travis holds any specific resentment against Shauna. We saw him talking with Van in the S2 finale but not the others. And it seems like he's forgiven Natalie from his actions in the Natalie coronation scene. So we don't really know how he'll feel individually about the girls moving forward. But we've already seen something similar in Travis and Shauna's friendship with forgiveness on Travis side -> Shauna tries to slit his throat in Autumn and then months later when she's about to die in childbirth, he uses the same knife to cut his hand as a sacrifice for her to live. There's so much love in Travis, bless him. (There was a really good post by someone going into depth about their friendship that mentioned the knife, not sure who made it but it was great).

We could return to Travis keeping to himself more after the events of S2 but not completely ostracising himself as he knows how dangerous it would be.

The fact that Nat is now in charge would protect him from the group and allow him some more freedom.

We know he and Natalie contemplate suicide at one point because of the pact they make in the future so Travis is definitely in a vulnerable place and Shauna could take advantage of that.

Shauna might also be an little bit of an outsider in S3 as she doesn't support Nat's lead.

Shauna's mad at and jealous of Natalie as she is the new antler queen instead of Shauna. Similar to how Shauna was jealous of Jackie in S1.

She could make a move on Travis in an attempt to simultaneously feel closer to Jackie and get back at Nat.

She's already done it once during doomcoming, she might do it again.

And if they did have sex, it would be the only way left for Shauna to feel close with Jackie. Potentially bringing back Ella.

And we know adult Shauna sees Jackie's 'ghost' but after the jackie-feast in 2x02, she doesn't see her again even when she reaches out. Maybe this is a way of bringing ghost-Jackie back into Shauna's life. A way to feel connected to her again and speak to her memory.

I would personally love to see Ella back as Ghost/hallucinated-Jackie on Shauna's part and I feel like this has the potential to make it happen.

And the best part about this theory (other than JackieShauna) is it opens up other romantic potential for Natalie too, AKA bring on Lottienat and Mistynat

they shouldve had a yellowjackets-style cannibalism scene in the terror. set to climbing up the walls by radiohead and juxtaposed with a bacchanal feast hallucination while they chowed down on that accidentally perfectly barbecued corpse and everything. it wouldn't have felt out of place at all.

Day 1: Missing/Extended Scene

Lottie and Laura Lee get, in some chronologies of Yellowjackets canon, three days as each other's People between Lottie's baptism and Laura Lee's death. Give them more! Pre-crash, within that all-too-brief canon timeframe, after Laura Lee's death with apparitions or hallucinations, whatever you wish. Bonus points for making this one canon-compliant and expanding on things implicitly present in the show, but no pressure.

tha being said, that question is impossible hsgjfdhgjfh my favorite yellowjackets character... that changes every day and honestly every girls gets a turn gshjfdgh the short answer is my girl Lottie ✨ i could talk about her forever but i just love beautiful girls that have suffered more than jesus. however! there's many of those in the show. shauna also perfectly fits the mold. everything about her just... yes. but!! i do love underrated characters that died to soon and deserve better from the fandom so to no one's suprise i am very attached to laura lee.

The Yellowjackets cannibalism scene goes off so hard, alternating between shots of the girls ravenously eating human flesh and a hallucination of them at a Greco-Roman feast, all while Climbing Up the Walls by Radiohead plays, and it's GREAT,

But I am genuinely so upset I'll never see this exact same scenario played out on IWTV because it's been done before.

Like I will never see Amadeo!Armand and Young Daniel in togas and golden laurel crowns feeding each other figs and spilling red wine down their necks as they laugh and drink, sucking honey from each other's finger tips, while flashing between Old Daniel and Modern Armand tearing some poor human apart like starving wolves, their faces and shirt-fronts drenched in blood. While Climbing Up the Walls by Radiohead plays.

I love Yellowjackets. Where else can you find a scene that's 1/2 hallucinated bacchanal feast 1/2 sheer gag-inducing depravity and absolute horror as they cannibalize their team captain after they directly indirectly caused her death by accidental on purpose suicide two months prior, before which they had been cannibalizing her metaphorically for several months and also her entire life. Did I mention there's a Radiohead song playing.

Fave character:

Misty. Damn, she is soooooo fun to watch both as a teen and as an adult. Plus there isn't a lot of women socyopaths (or whatever she is) on screen.

Followed closely by Natalie (she just rocks) and unpopular opinion, Shauna.

Fave scene of season 1:

Jackie's feast, of course. It was so well filmed, so visceral, and on top of that the Roman setting...

Another minor faves were the first scene (so misterious) and the plane crashes -the Yellowjackets and Laura Lee's (I'm a sucker for plan crashes, don't sue me).

Fave scene of season 2:

The birth. It makes you think it will suck and the baby will die slowly on screen but oooops, Shauna wakes up and the reality hit you like a train.

The girls choosing their sacrifice, Misty accidentally killing her friend, the girls chasing Javi and the cabin burning were also brutal.

What I want for season 3:

Some kind of resolution for everything, I can't think the show can continue for much longer, to be honest.

-Discover the identity of Pit Girl.

-The meaning of the pictures carved on trees.

-How they are going to survive the cabin burnt.

-When they are going to chase and eat Scott.

-More Natalie (teen and adult), please. I want her having a proper farewell.

-More about the Antler Queen.

-Specially, more insight into the girl's life before the crash, that part was a bit lacking but the stakes for all of them were interesting on their own to have their own episode like Natalie's more or less did (from where Shauna's obsession with perfection comes from, if Jackie had something hidden on her life, Lottie's parental abandonment and mental sickness, Misty's parents dealing with her or Misty dealing with bullying, Van's white trash life and how it was for Taissa being a biracial lesbian child in the 80s/90s)... Maybe even something from Scott, Travis & Javi
