hey btw if you're in the USA at  2:20 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Oct. 4, they're testing the emergency broadcast system. your phone is probably going to make a really loud noise, even if it's on silent. there's a backup date on the 11th if they need to postpone it.

if you're not in a safe situation and have an extra phone, you should turn that phone completely off beforehand.

additionally, if you're like me, and are easily startled; i recommend treating it like a party. have a countdown or something. be surrounded by your loved ones. take the actions you personally need to take to make yourself safe.

i have already seen mockery towards any person who feels nervous about this. for the record, it completely, completely valid to have "emergency broadcast sounds" be an anxiety trigger. do not let other people make fun of you for that. emergency sounds are legitimately engineered to make us take action; those of us with high levels of anxiety and/or neurodivergence are already pre-disposed to have a Bad Time. sometimes it is best to acknowledge that the situation will be triggering for some, and to prepare for that; rather than just saying "well that's stupid, it's just a test."

"loud scary sound time" isn't like, my favorite thing, but we can at least try to prevent some additional anxiety by preparing for it. maybe get yourself a cake? noise cancelling headphones? the new hozier album? whatever helps. love u, hope you're okay. we are gonna ride it out together.

I'm writing a fic where, under a truth spell/serum from creatures called Nisse (mischievous creatures who are pranksters but don't cause any real harm) Stan confesses to Ford that if weirdmageddon hadn't happened and he was kicked out like Ford had said, he was fully prepared to kill himself. He didn't want to become homeless again, he wouldn't survive, so might as well get it over with huh?

And to be clear. The nisse had NO clue this was gonna happen. So really it's like

Nisse: Haha, time to prank this old man and give him a truth potion! He's for sure going to spill some embarrassing secrets to his brother >:)

Stan: I was fully prepared to kill myself. Also I was homeless for over 10 years. Also I'm in love with you.

Honestly ive envisioned Machete with a deeper, silkier voice. Not quite Scar, but that brand of disney villain smoothness to it that comes mostly from how detached and calculated he presents himself as. Hearing emotion in his voice is rather rare, but it cracks and leaps a tone or two when he's startled or excited.. it's like a fuzzy velvet of a baby blanket when he whispers to Vasco in the dark I think.

Every time I see that machine in the True Lab, I wonder if it could possibly be Chara's soul in there? Probably unlikely, but not impossible... It's interesting to think about what the implications of that would be.

I saw a video on tiktok about a woman telling how she met and started a committed relationship with another woman while the were in prison, calling eachother wife and then got married once they were out, and I can only think about lesbingqiu in that scenario.

Binghe would totally thrive calling Shen Yuan her wife, wifey, and live in a weird marital bliss with her cell partner. Then make sure to have that marriage written down on paper once they are out.

Shen Yuan probably finds a way to do mental gymnastics about letting Binghe call her wife. Prison codes? Protecting eachother? Just a completly platonic way to call a very close best friend/cell partner? Like those girls who use "girlfriend" in a non romantic way? She doesn't really mind being called wife, everyone does it here, and if she really needs a wife in prison Binghe is the best one. In a besties way. Like very affectionate roomies.

I don't know why or how Shen Yuan would end up being arrested and stay in prison long enough to got herself a "platonic" wife, unless it was just bad luck.

Binghe probably killed someone or smt like that but she is gonna be free one way or another.

Imps of Miitopia

Alternate coloring + trivia:

They're drawn in order by their number in the journal.

There are 2 imp Miis because there are 2 different costume models (like every job's gear) and also because I wanted to draw both the 3DS and Switch promo/default Miis.

I didn't draw a face on the blue imp (Imp "Cheery Granny"/"Traveler's Friend"/"Teammate"/"YOU") because since they're the only imp monsters who have an entire face, they vary so much throughout everyone's playthroughs depending on what Miis you have.

I also made the blue imp's collar similar to the Dark Lord's because this imp resembles the Dark Lord the most, and they only appear as bosses, so the Dark Lord must value them a lot... They're the ones he calls on for help, after all.

For the imp, naughty imp, and clever imp, whatever eyes/glasses they had when they first popped up in the journal, those were the ones I drew.

I've never played the Switch version of Miitopia so seeing the red fiend threw me for a loop.... look at him... waffle fiend....

Spoilers are for the imp Miis' outfits (because one is end-game and one is post-game) and both the terror fiend and the red fiend (mostly/only encountered post-game). Mostly for the red fiend.
