@clairosaurus007​ KIJK NOU EINDELIJK HET IS HIER god het is echt erg hoe erg te laat is het??? 7 maanden?? god en het is nog niet eens een interessant en/of lang stuk maar ANYWAY het gaat gebeuren vanaf nu :))))))). anyway, so this is a story for one of my real life friends, whose birthday was literally seven months ago but ANYWAY she had a dream about during our trip to rome the bus being hijacked, so thats what this is gonna be........ hopefully you like it.

"Motorboat."

"Motorboat!"

"Yes! Good job, girl."

Anna and Naomi high-fived each other and the sound of it echoed through the bus. Not that anyone was going to comment on it. Everyone was busy talking of their own. Anna's loud, weird chuckling blended right in.

They might have been cheery at that moment, but they haven't been the entire trip. Far from it. Having to stand up at six while fighting the nerves that this long a trip brought wasn't exactly great for Anna's mood. That, plus the knowledge that she was going to have to sleep in this metal box. That was just not going to happen, she knew it already. But she would have to make do. And for now, that meant playing games and only thinking of the beautiful statues she was going to see. You don't get the chance to be in Rome this often. And Anna was sure as hell going to take it.

"Should we do it again?"

"Yeah, sure, let me think-"

"Could you maybe do it quieter this time? I cannot hear the words I'm reading."

Anna wanted to look at Naomi and roll her eyes when she heard that voice, but before she could even turn around, Naomi's back was already bent forward.

"Aw, should I read it for you, Violet?"

Naomi was tall enough to lean on top of the chairs in front of her, but as soon as she put her arms down, she was met with a piece of paper in her face. Naomi came back down in her chair with some loud giggling and Violet sighed. But nonetheless, she turned around in her chair to face her friends.

" I don't really think you want to hear about which year Caravaggio's David and Beheaded Goliath was painted. You can't be spoilered for my presentation." She turned around, but quickly spun back again. "It was 1610, by the way."

Naomi laughed.

"I think you're worrying too much. It'll be fine, you've read it over a thousand times."

Violet look at Naomi for a second, but her eyes quickly shot back.

"I think you need to shut the fuck up, maybe."

"Wow. Rude." Anna rose up as well, but Violet only winked and turned around again. But Anna knew Naomi was still smiling. The fun wasn't over yet.

"Hey, mr. Paul!"

The scruffy, slightly balding man at the front of the bus looked up from a newspaper and took off his reading glasses.

"How much should I pay you to give Violet an A for her presentation?"

Mr. Paul laughed and he immediately shared a meaningful look with the other teachers. As the economics teacher and coordinator of the trip, of course he would be targeted with Naomi's questions.

"A million pounds," he said with a grin on his face.

"Sure, will do." Naomi looked at Anna again and she lowered her voice. "I'm going to need you to cash in, I got like fifty bucks, so if you got the rest-"

"Dude, I need to eat in Rome as well, you know?"

"Okay, whatever- Violet! It's your grade, if you just-"

"W-wait, shut up, Naomi." Violet closed her papers and stretched her neck to look out the front window. Naomi had already opened her mouth, but Violet was first. "Why are we stopping?"

Suddenly, everyone sitting on the ground level turned their heads, including the teachers. Anna stood up, attempting to see over mr. Paul's head as he stood up to go to the driver. But the only thing she saw was a small, square building. Like a security building.

"Oh, shit." Anna let herself fall back down. "It's a passport control, isn't it? Didn't they warn us this could happen?"

"Ah, fuck. I'm not ready for this."

Violet immediately reached for her bag and Anna quickly followed her example. They had told them to have their passports ready, but Anna knew her wallet had sunk to the bottom… this was going to be stressful.

It took another few seconds for the bus had fully stopped, but while Anna was unzipping her bag, she saw three men in a dark blue uniform shaking hands with the driver. Mr. Paul was already storming towards them as well.

"All right, guys, have your passports ready, they should be in and out real fast," their Latin teacher shouted.

"Yeah, that's easy for you to say," Anna whispered to herself while she shoved her hand as deep as she could. She saw Naomi already lifting her head again and heard the footsteps and voices of the security members coming towards her. Well, shit. Her passport was as good as lost.

"Your passport, please?"

"Here."

Was that Violet's voice already? Anna dove further down, almost shoving her head inside. God, why did she insist on taking all this candy? And why this book? She wasn't even going to read it, why did she-

"Passport?"

"Yeah, here." Naomi reached over Anna and her arm touched her back. "Uhm, Anna?"

"Just a second!"

Anna's eyes shot to the man standing next to her for just a moment. He was tall and pretty buff, like a typical security guard would be, and had tan skin and dark hair, like a typical Italian would have. He was also wearing sunglasses. Anna had no idea why he kept them on inside this bus, and she wished he had taken them off. She had no idea what his expression was like this.

"Are you sure you have it?" The man's voice was low and had a thick accent, but it was not as deep as Anna would have expected. And thankfully not as hasty, either.

"Y-yeah, I'm sure. It's under here.

"If you-"Suddenly, the man stopped talking. Anna looked up and saw that another guy tapped him on his shoulder. His expression looked bewildered. "Hold on."

Anna halted her search as she stared at the two officers. The other guy started whispering rapidly into the first man's ear in Italian, even though it went so fast she was barely able to make that out. She saw that the first man had his eyebrows furrowed above his sunglasses, but as soon as the guy finished his story, his mouth felt open. He turned around.

"Che cosa?"

The other guy answered in Italian and started walking to the exit of the bus. Anna saw the guy clench his hand, until he suddenly turned his head the side. Anna almost jumped and quickly pulled her hand out of her bag.

"Excuse me," he said and immediately after, he started running after his colleague. Anna stared at him as he left, a million questions beginning to fill her head. What did that guy say? Why didn't they finish the inspection? And what the hell just happened?

Suddenly, Anna heard a loud thumb and she jerked her head up. She hadn't noticed that her hand had been slipping out of her hand. Right onto her foot.

"What the hell was that all about?"

"How should I know, Violet?"

As soon as Anna came up, she saw her two friends staring at her. A little more intensely than would have been comfortable.

"Anna, did you understand that?"

"No, dude, that was Italian, of course I didn't."

"Well, are they coming back, or- nope, we're driving away." Naomi turned her head to the window. "All right, bye, security guards." She started waving.

"Jesus Christ, Naomi, don't wave at them, we-"

"Anna."

Anna quickly shut her mouth and saw Violet staring at her, from above the chairs.

"What do you think happened? Was there something more important they needed to go to?"

"I suppose." Anna bit on her lip for a second. "I can't imagine what, though."

"But… that's pretty scary. Like, we have no idea what that is." Violet tapped with her fingers on the chairs. "Could be a bomb."

"You're insane, Violet."

"Just saying." She stared thoughtfully at the ceiling of the bus. "But it's probably just a coffee pot that exploded in their little shack there."

Anna couldn't stop herself from bursting out a laugh.

"Probably, yeah."

"Well, at least they didn't have to arrest you for not having your passport, Annie."

"Shut up, I have it. It's just… buried."

Naomi put her chin on her hands.

"All right, than prove it. Show it to me right now."

Anna turned to her bag, stared at it for a few seconds, and then raised her head up in defeat.

"All right, you got me."

All three of them started laughing again, way too carelessly and way to loud. The presence of that guard had changed absolutely nothing. And in the next sentence, he wasn't even present anymore.
