HI I LOVE YOU !!!

okay so i have been on a ROLL with my reading this past weekend so im very happy !!

FIRST: The Naturals, by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. SO SO SO good it was a 5/5 star read, like i was actually unwell. its like..a YA mystery??? science and FBI and disturbing murders. actually frightening but it was SO SO GOODD!!! basically these kids have these freaky abilities that land them on the FBI's radars, which leads to these teens getting recruited by the FBI to be trained and to use their powers to help them crack cold cases!!!!! These powers are like...abilities that the FBI are trained to use, except the teens just HAVE them and its freaky. CUTE ROMANCE, AMAZING CHARACTERS & DYNAMICS, IT WAS DELICIOUS the mystery was so so yum i screamed. 10/10 JLB never disappoints. i got grey hairs from the stress and could not sleep after but so so worth it

SECOND: I finished Love Unwritten by lauren Asher. HVGNFHGN FGBHNFNGHNFGHNGBHNGHNGHH its a single dad romance <33333333 because smth about single dads heals me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! another banger by asher, though i think i gave it like a 4.5/5 bc i could not handle the stress and the second hand embarrassment was so bad i dropped the book for a week. HE"S A GRUMPY SINGLE DAD DEALING WITH PAST ISSUES SHE"S RUNNING AWAY FROM THE HORRORS OF HER OLD LIFE AND ENDS UP BEING A LIVE-IN NANNY AND TAKING CARE OF THIS GUY'S KID !!!!!!!!!!!!! ooooh and bc nooooothing EVER goes wrong with that right !!!!!!! WRONG. THEY FALL IN LOVE. lots of hot sex, 10/10 experience i recommend wholeheartedly.

THIRD: I reread a few Lynn Painter books (primarily betting on you, and better than the movies) She writes THE BEST rom coms EVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. like when i say. her work heals me i mean it has HEALED ME. its gotten me through stuff. so so so so SO good. better than the movies is like the teen high school cliche romance which i never read bc they're always so ick ick ick but so. so good. third re-read. i loveher. i'd kill for her. the men she writes are too good.

FOURTH: I'm CURRENTLY reading Play Along by Liz Tomforde. It's the 4th book in her sports romance series and its SO FUCKING GOOD!!!! I did reread the first 3 books (Mile High, Right Move, Caught Up) GHEY ARE SO SO SO GOOD if i have not made it clear im actually a sports romance slut. the one im reading rihgt now is a BASEBALL ROMANCE???? never in my life but i am. i've always, shamelessly, been a hockey girl bc thats what the market mostly is but this series has opened my horizons. hockey, BASKETBALL(SO SO YUMMY) and now 2 baseball novels, and the upcoming 5th one is taking me BACK to hockey. UGHEFUGH THIS CURRENT ONE IS SO SOS GOOD THO!!!!!!! its like....they drunkenly get married in Vegas, he's been in love with her for AGES, its cute its fluffy its kept me up until 3am two nights in a row now (the splintering headaches are crazy...) and i've cried 4 times bc Tomforde's books always hit a little too close with the characters and i forget that sometimes. 10/10 im ready to cry some more when i finish it.

ummm yes that is it. i feel alive all over again. have i been giggling abt the scenarios of these books thinking abt where i'd put that in a fic absolutely!! that is why i read romance. im living my best life and its going great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh god i kept sleeping the whole day away on and off this fic really drained me and now i'm literally done with it i feel so empty. (if you dont know what im talking about, final part to ghost to its haunt is out)

like moth to a flame (as a series) is the first project i've completed EVER and i'm feeling so great (even though half of it was shameless porn) but also it's done now and idk what to do with myself hhhhh

no joke i've written a whole novel. the minimum words for a novel is 50K and:

It feels SO WILD.

Thank you so much for seeing this through with me, all the support and being patient with me as I scrambled to finish everything!

More blabbering thoughts below the cut for the final huzzah (i am giving this fic a send off after all. ur getting a huge author's note)

moth to a flame was the first leonxreader fic i'd written and no joke, my first smut too. looking back i was really writing it for ME lmao, practicing and playing around with leon's character and everything.

i am lucky to have it blow up this much (thanks to that one tiktok account who recommended fics you have my heart) because it t came out relatively early like right after re4r release. i received incredible comments on it. like PARAGRAPHS and whole essays picking it apart and appreciating the details and i never got around to answering any of that because i didn't feel deserving of that kind of praise. I've never gotten attention like that before and i felt unworthy of it? I didnt feel it was anything special, leon isnt a new character there are better works out there,

but i get that fics for re4r leon were being put out SLOWLY and mine just happened to be on the better side of the spectrum since i started working on it way before march when the remake came out and had months to revise and edit, so that's why it's much more superior to lamb to the slaughter and ghost to its haunt which are dopamine-fueled, weeks-old projects barely beta-read basically running on concentrated inspiration (and i've been dealing with cholecystitis for months waiting for surgery through it all. so it's really been a roller-coaster ride) 

to this day i have no idea why both ended up to be 25K words each dude ��� i just wanted there to be a story i guess? like, when people said they wanted more in mtaf's comments i just wanted to deliver a decent plot and have a strong background on how the reader had ended up in a situation like that with leon, and things just branched out from there.

i took so much time on them because I FREAKED OUT over it being slightly popular. you guys know. lmao . its all i talked about on ltts notes BSDSJDS

by the time they came out though, attention and interest had fizzled out majorly, like, anons who were begging for a sequel did not come back after ltts dropped I CLEARLY remember (after getting what they wanted from me) AHAHAH but i did deliberately shoot myself in the leg with that one, i am AWFUL with expectations, so it was between "what the hell, let's go low-ER" and "let's go out with a bang"

i think i did get back on track A BIT with ghost to its haunt, but still, it's its own thing, you know? i did say it'd be a good ending, so it has a good ending... in moth to a flame standards.

this series ended up to be a choose your adventure type of story. it's up to you how it ends. if you like angst, just accept it ends with moth to a flame and reader and leon are done and go their separate ways. if you don't want to settle with that and want the story to continue, you have a dark romance with a doomed ending with lamb to the slaughter; and if you like a kinda hurt/comfort fluffy bittersweet conclusion instead, ghost to its haunt is for you.

So yeah. It's really over.

there's actually a lot of positive ftm rep in media, but people think it's unbalanced (more trans women rep) because trans women are hypervisible. there is actually much more positive rep of trans men compared to trans women! for ex like you said theo in sabrina, also: ian in the oa, ben in good girls, the trans actor elliott fletcher has been in many tv shows including shameless & the fosters, etc. I am also really happy for elliot page!! but i don't think it's true that trans representation is unbalanced between trans men & women, especially if you look at what kind of characters trans women are often made to be, vs what characters trans men get to be (also, fuck boys dont cry)

i totally get what u mean with hyper-visibility! and ty for the examples, i am defo gonna look them up. also i watched a whole bunch of shameless but I think I actually stopped watching before his char was introduced so im gonna start watching again for him :) but also yeah I get what you are talking about with the types of characters transwomen play vs transmen, honestly I could write another whole essay post on that lol but at the end of the day it boils down to the fact that the industry just needs to do better!!! Anyway, the question for everyone else is referring to a line I put in my Accidental Family Man Head canons about Jinbe so uh, self promotion real quick but now to get to the good stuff.

Iroh, first and foremost, is a general. A General, who for the longest time, lived in a court under his father’s hand, and in general, problably had a lot of scheming in his life.

Flash forward to present time, when he’s retired, a Grand Lotus, with a nephew hell bent on capturing the one hope Iroh believes the world has to succeed. 

Perhaps it is time to nudge him in the right direction a little.

The concept of Iroh the manipulator is something that I've seen grow in the Atlantic fandom for a while now, and as they point out facts in canon, its become less Fanon and definitely just a just realized thing. Vathara’s absolutely amazing fic Embers  does an awesome job of show casing this, and im pretty sure muffinlance has several works that feature it as well. 

For canon, here are a few examples that I can think off the top of my head.

All of Ba Sing Se and Iroh’s imprisonment, as well as the few teachings we see him give Zuko. 

Note: None of this is malicious, I believe, in Iroh’s part, but it does take advantage of the fact that Zuko does implicitly trust Iroh.

So one 1) 

THIS SCENE. Introducing the fact that the four elements (The Avatar’s whole shebang, what the Fire nation is against) can live in harmony, and can be advantageous (lightning bending.) Very small, but enough to start a shift in Zuko’s ideology in that fire= all thats good.

2) Iroh heating the tea in Ba Sing Se. 

He sees his nephew with a man that likes to foster hate in everything he sees. Hm. Time to be the tea loving uncle and heat up some tea to get his nephew away from that man.

(Shameless plug for my fic recognition right here where Jet recognizes Zuko and does jack shit about it) 

3) Encouraging Zuko to find life in the city, to forget the Avatar. 

I don’t have a picture of this but  the whole Spiritual Sickness thing, the way he pushed for his Zuko to be himself without the avatar - and how later, post sickness, that himself turned out to be a tea-loving nephew. 

Suspicious? I don't know exactly how to read it but it sure is something.

4) Literally everything to do with the White Lotus. 

Iroh breaking out, Iroh showing Zuko the Pai Sho tile constantly in prior seasons, telling Zuko that hey, perhaps the silent treatment might get it into your head that you fucked up and that maybe im right, and maybe we will meet up in the spot I planned hmmmm.

5) Iroh not being Aang’s teacher and providing the oppurtunity for Zuko to be the one despite having a thousand other fire bending masters in the white lotus lmao. that ones just a hunch but uhhhhh yikes. 

Anyway, yeah. Its not obvious at all, and it does for the majority of it have Zuko’s best interest at heart but... Iroh’s for balance. Iroh’s for the world being saved. If he has to nudged his nephew around a bit to do that, then so be it. His nephew could use it after all.

Also im very sure you could find a thousand better essays about this topic then my scrambled reasonings but I hope that explains what I saw! Its been a year since I last rewatched the series so Im sure I missed a lot lol. 

But yeah Iroh = well meaning manipulations that in general help everybody but maybe stop seeing your nephew as a pat sho tile to nudge around hmm?

- I headcanon shaw to be an ENTP, and while INTJs and ENTPs generally aren’t each other’s natural matches, they’re still a good pair nonetheless!

- being more of a half and half kind of pair, there are both notable and small differences in the way you either handle yourselves or just express things in general. but! in my opinion, the most important part of this pairing is the way that you’re able to fill in each other’s blanks —

- Oikawa’s mbti, I think, is ENFJ! you guys naturally compliment each other, and from the brief accounts I read from people in relationships of this match, you’re set for success. you both share the basic characteristics of being loyal, respectful (generally of privacy, boundaries, etc) and both being more of a leader type, are open to listening to the people around you.

Life Update, I guess

At the time im writing this, Camp Nanowrimo ended a couple days ago.  I didn’t remotely meet my goal and I’m dealing with some major burnout.  Usually, even at times when I don’t write, I still think about the character, world building and plots constantly.  But now, I have no thoughts, head fucking empty.  I’ve been dealing with writer block lately, but never fucking burnout.  It sucks. 

  So, I’ve decided to take a break.  Not from writing as a whole, but from the physical act of putting words on paper.  i made this whole schedule for the next couple of months to hopefully get over this.  Life will probably throw my planning off the rails, but i can’t really do anything about that at this moment lol.  

  Maybe i’ll even try some nonfiction writing.  I haven’t written anything nonfiction for a hot ass minute, but I wouldn’t be opposed if inspiration strikes.  I used to be pretty good at persuasive essay when i had to write them for school, maybe I’ll writing one again. 

  -Also, another note about my Burnout-

   The two main projects I’ve been working on lately, one a graphic novel script, and the other a novel, I’ve been working on for YEARS.  I was probably about 12-13 when I came up with both ideas (i’m 16 now btw) I guess it’s expected to get burned out.  

 So, yeah, that’s what I have been dealing with.  Also, I’m an artist too, (idk if you guys know this), and I’m doing a WLW art challenge through my IG to keep myself busy in the month of may. (Shameless self-promo, my IG is @/morsmordre.art if you want to check it out)
