trying to puzzle in my head how ffxiv is a narrative in a vacuum that would make me cringe really badly, but actually playing it im like. oh I love this shit so much
#it still does make me cringe like I don’t like the retuning back cutscene at the end of EW#yeah fighting a giant guy named hades feels like it should be cringe#but no I’m sitting here genuinely emotional#truly i love how ffxiv asks you to take these concepts completely seriously#and then builds a narrative that sucker punches you#it certainly helps that 14 is a love letter to final fantasy in general#I still adore how it never expects you to know about this other stuff#yeah sure ffxiv I will cry over this cat boy. I will cry over this elf with a neck that is too long#it doesn’t help the game gives u a little guy to make#and gets u attached to that little guy#the way the WoL had altered people’s brains#its so like.
