BnHA Chapter 300: Days of Our Todorokis

Previously on BnHA: Hawks was all “hey Jeanist, wanna go on a road trip with me to my mom’s house?” Jeanist was all “you know it,” and so they hopped into Jeanist’s jercedes and took off. Hawks took a nap and had a flashback to his Dickensian childhood living in a abject poverty with his jerk mom and jerk dad, thinking heroes were make-believe until one day Endeavor arrested his dad and Baby Hawks was all “OH SHIT.” And then he saved a bunch of people, and the HPSC was all “what do we have here,” and blah blah blah, you know the rest. Back in the present, Hawks was all “well my life is currently in shambles, but on the plus side there’s no one bossing me around anymore so that’s pretty cool,” and then decided he was going to talk to Endeavor. Fandom was all “I can’t believe Hawks would side with his childhood hero over the man who burned his wings off and posted a video calling him a violent murderer who took after his abusive dad,” so that was fun and stuff. I can’t wait to see what piping fresh takes this new chapter will bring.

Today on BnHA: Our old friend Carbonation Carl tries to loot a Starbucks and gets his ass kicked by a senior citizen. Society is all “YEAH, WE’RE REALLY STARTING TO GET SICK OF THIS SHIT.” Old Man Samurai is all “this room won’t stop me because I can’t read it” and abruptly decides to retire, which, fun fact, is literally THE LEAST HELPFUL THING ANYONE HAS EVER DONE. Anyway so then a bunch of other punkasses follow suit, and while I won’t say that I’m actually starting to root for Stain to kill some peeps, just for the record I’m not not saying that either. Back in the hospital, Endeavor cries some tears because his life sucks, and then is confronted by his entire family, LED BY QUEEN REI, FIRST OF HER NAME, BACK IN BUSINESS AND LARGE AND IN CHARGE. Rei is all “fuck feeling sorry for yourself, we have a rogue Murder Son on the loose” and I swear to god I have never felt so alive.

so here we go! and just for the record, even though the last two chapters have been phenomenal, I don’t necessarily have any sky-high expectations for chapter 300, mostly because chapters 100 and 200 consisted of Mei Boobs, and Toadette and her horrific quirk lmao. so go ahead Horikoshi, what are you gonna pull out of your hat for this one

2018 wrap up

I did this last year (well technically january of this year) and I remember really enjoying doing it sooo I’ma do it agian. Under a cut cause this might get a bit long!

First let’s take a look back at my old goals from years past and see what I accomplished so far!

Graduate senior year <- this was about high school and yes I did!!

Get high grades <- last semester was hm a bit stressful but I was still able to get p good grades and this semester my lowest grade was around 93.8% I think but the professor rounded it to an A sooo YES HELLA HIGH GRADES!!

Pass to at least one university <- Yup, I had passed to a few but alas student visa didn’t let me go to my top choices so here we are!

Read at least one book <- uhhhhhh I started a few but I don’t think I finished any? 

Watch at least one anime <- pretty sure I didn’t do that

Get better at drawing <- hmmm debatable. sometimes I think I did but other times not really?

Write at least one book (or start it) <- nope but I have a few ideas cooking up with some friends!

One national trip <-yesss did a few actually!

One international trip <- yup, went to Brazil!

Get an apartment <- yes? Not solo, but I got a new place with roomates!!

Get fit <- hmmm I did in the beginning of the year then I slacked off and now I’m slowly getting fit again!

Kiss someone <- I was about to say I didn’t but then I remembered that yup I did. Damn, 2018 really felt like years long lmao

Have a romance <- nah

Meet new people <- yup!!! met quite a few actually!!

Two of my professors actually told me I should apply to grad school cause they think I would be rly good!!!

Lessons learned this year:

Sometimes the universe might try to tell you things. Listen! To! It! If you’re about to make a big decision and something happens that doesn’t allow you to make that decision, take a step back, wait a bit, consider if you really should do the thing!

You might not be able to keep every bad thing from happening to you, but you can learn to cope with it! So change what you can change, and try to adapt to the things you can’t

On that note, learn from bad experiences

Friendship love is just as important as romantic love! 

Cherish the good things that do happen in your life, regardless of how small! Maybe you didn’t win the lotto, but hey you saw a cute dog today! It’s not the same, but it was still a good moment, so hold on to those, let yourself be happy over even the tiniest of things!

Try to not stress too much. Try to take things one day at a time. Don’t put too much on your plate - try to prioritize things, and get through them at your pace instead of trying to do a thousand things at once.

Life is truly a mystery. Things change constantly, even if sometimes it might seem like they don’t. Keep an open mind and be ready for all of life’s turns and twists.

Make! Your! Mental! Health! A! Priority!!!! Don’t give up on your treatment, don’t put yourself in a situation that you know will harm your mental health if you have an option to forego it.

BnHA Chapter 068: Get In Loser, We’re Going Shopping

Previously on BnHA: We spent entirely too much time on Mineta and all you need to know is that he passed the final despite my best efforts at sending my Mineta-crushing energy out into the universe. Kirishima, Satou, Mina, and Kaminari did not pass, because sometimes life just hits you hard and shit’s not fair. Aoyama straight up asked Ochako if she was in love with Deku and she was like KYAAAAAA and flew away in embarrassment and ended up handcuffing Thirteen on her way out. I don’t know why we couldn’t have seen Iida and Ojiro’s exam instead of Mineta’s, but they also passed. Basically everyone did except the four I already mentioned. And Tomura made a couple of new friends.

Today on BnHA: Tomura meets Dabi and Toga and tries to kill them! Kurogiri sets him straight and Tomura slinks off to sulk. Aizawa announces that Kaminari, Kirishima, Mina, Satou, and Sero have all failed the exam, but that everyone will be going to the training lodge anyway because he loves plot twists. The kids of class A (minus a few holdouts) go to the mall. Everyone splits up. Deku meets some creepy guy in a hoodie. The creepy guy in the hoodie turns out to be fucking Tomura because of course it is.

(As always, all comments not marked with an ETA are my unspoiled reactions from my first readthrough of this chapter. I’ve read up through chapter 137 now, so any ETAs will reflect that.)

his name is Dabi. or rather, he says that right now he goes by that name

Tomura wants to know his real name and he’s like, ~too bad~

(ETA: okay so I know that there is a prominent fan theory about this guy’s true identity due to his quirk, his appearance, and the fact that he keeps his real name under tight wraps. and also, I think, due to one particularly odd moment in chapter 82. but I’m gonna refrain from commenting about said theory until I’m caught up with the manga, since I’d like to have the full picture first. as of now, my feelings on this are a solid, “I guess he could be?”)

I really like this guy. even though his name immediately made me think, “MASTER HAS GIVEN ME A SOCK”
