hey, i really REALLY love your barracuda Jeremy! i'd love to learn more about him or see him more! do you have any head canons you could share about him/the au?

ok so headcanons and details under the cut heck yea heck yea

- jeremy has GNARLY barracuda teeth - he rarely smiles cos of this (or he uses his hand to cover it) 

- jeremy’s hair is Literally Ethereal underwater. it’s PERFECT 

- it was hard for him to make friends as a kid bc everyone’s taught that barracudas are dangerous and to stay away from them

- bc usually, they are; they’re predatory and isolated and barracuda mermaids r rare as hell, and they’re absolutely dangerous

- so everyone’s afraid of him, but when they learn he’s a dorky nice barracuda, they write him off as weird and Still don’t wanna hang out with him

- he could be genuinely scary if he wanted to be

- rich calls him out on this instead of his tallness (”why do you keep calling me that? i’m not even that scary!” “yea but you would be if you weren’t hunched over scared all the time”)

- he’s pining after a human girl: christine

- mermaids can switch between having legs and being in the water but most opt for staying in the water bc they dont.. rlly know how to act human

- rich is popular with humans and with mermaids (bc his squip) 

- the squip is a squid. it’s Essentially ursula

- hunting is hella easy for jer. it’s instinct

- he finds a way to sweat underwater

- michael loves that jer’s a nice barracuda, look at his barracuda friend, isn’t he awesome??

- michael likes to collect human things (especially music oriented things, even tho most of them don’t work underwater) 

- brooke is one of the only mermaids that’s gone above water without a squip and integrated into popularity successfully (she’s still kinda clueless but follows and tries to act like chloe (hence the whole “that is so awesome!” “brooke!” “i mean slutty!”)

- michael and jer met when they were little; kids r usually sent out to a specific coral reef that acts as a playground, it’s a way to get ur kids to be social and make friends

- everyone’s kinda weirded out by michael bc he’s excitedly showing them this weird black disk (a vinyl) he found

- jeremy’s has a hiding place where no one can see him (everyone’s afraid of him anyways) but his yellow eyes can usually be seen if you look too close

- michael is caught staring and jeremy kinda. hesitantly exits his lil nook

- michaels like oh SHIT bc he was taught barracudas are dangerous and to stay away from them, esp bc rock fish aren’t EVEN a close match if they get into a fight

- michaels kinda frozen as jer swims closer to him and jer opens his mouth and BIG TEETH BIG TEETH HE SHOULD GET AWAY NOW-

- “what’s that weird disk you have?”

- michael excitedly talks about his disk while jeremy listens and smiles and even chips in at a few points while michael’s talking abt the theories he has on what it does

- they keep talking until it’s time to go and michael says smth like “i’ll see you tomorrow!!” and jeremy’s honest to god shocked bc….. omg……… this super cool kid wants to hang out with him again…………. rad..
