Expanding on my previous post about speaking ‘Celestial’: the language of stars in the RFTS!Au.
I also want to point out that the glow of a star will glow in specific patterns as they ‘talk.’ Think of it this way:
So while the static, whirring and humming noises exchanged between stars telepathically are like words.
The sequence of glowing patterns as they communicate would be like how voice tone is to humans. (You know how we put emphasis on certain words to express how we feel about a topic in the conversation?) Also similar to how people who speak in sign language use facial expressions to convey tone.

I’m thinking that the speed and spaces in between each flash indicates emotion while the intensity of the light equals the volume.
Example:
Happy = Long flashes with short spaces in between.
Sad = Slow pulsing. Basically the opposite of happy. Shorter glows and long pauses.
Mad = Flares
Neutral/‘Meh’ = Constant and moderate speed.
Excited = Fast flashes and short pauses.
Scared = Quick unstable flickers.
(Shouting = Bright intensity. Whispering = Dimmer. Neutral = In the middle.)
The patterns may look similar to us, but I guess it’s distinguishable enough for stars who’ve spoken it their entire life. Idk if this even makes any sense or if I’m explaining it well… 😅
……
Now imagine the other starboys (if they could control their light) trying to mimic these patterns as an attempt at communication with Sueño, but the poor guy can only look on like:
Tumblr media
‘You’re yelling? Are you mad at me orrrr…..?’
“You sound sad but you keep telling me of this grand discovery….What-”
(After one of the stars glowed a sequence equivalent to flipping someone off-) “0_0…….”
Dang, Sueño would be fun to talk to-
