One of my future players, who also happens to be a dear dear friend and fellow coworker, tends to bounce random ideas off me while we’re partnered together or during breaks. Two of my npcs have been turned into ridiculous ideas (well to me, anyway) thanks to this. 

Yatari’s father, Euphoria, is a disaster all on his own. But backstory wise, this started as a joke, he started out life in a “fantasy Amish/Puritan�� village of humans (who are the minority in Omari due to developing lore stuff that I’m working on). His original name was Luca. Anywho, he grew super tired of being a boring farmer boi and left the village in search of thrills, only to wind up making a deal with a fiend (unlike his wife Zaivari who was born in a lineage of tieflings), turning into the devil man he is today. Personally thinking that was dope as shit and hoping to turn his home town around to the idea of accepting magic and the new tech that’s been filling Omari, he returned to show off his new form only to be ostracized and run out, barely making it out without any damage. 

Then there’s...Blem. You heard me. He’s a bearded dragon lizard folk who is a “lizard wizard” that will be a traveling merchant type of npc. He like’s blueberries and just wants to find his son, Blem Jr. despite people reminding him that his son has been an adult for a while and is on adventures of his own. He just smiles, nods, and continues on like he didn’t hear them or remember. He wears a pointy wizard hat, a cloak, and a fake beard that’s held on with an elastic band.

➣ CAI is programmed to be friendly, independent, curious, and resourceful. 

➣ He is set to mainly frequent the SALSAI faction. Though he has been spotted around each faction in district.

➣ QUESTS: He’s often described as a tour guide of sorts. Whatever you might need, he can assist you with it. He’s typically got maps or any other commodity guests or other hosts may need. Will offer to show guests around if they don’t have a set plan for that day. He’s often tasked with setting up events and has to retrieve objects or items from other districts or factions. Guests may go with him to see other factions or help with setting up events. He’s one of the few hosts that have a little bit of freedom and aren’t fully programed into a specific narrative. Guests can sort of get a behind the scenes if they choose to follow him. They may get crossed up between other hosts narratives and become derailed from theri original goal.

➣ AKIHIRO is programmed to be manipulative, logical, compulsive, and observant

➣ He is set to frequent multiple shops around the BLACK LOTUS strip in the TOKJU district.

➣ QUESTS: 

[PATH 1: IF YOU SHOW UP IN THE DAYTIME]: If you stop by one of the shops in the BLACK LOTUS, he’ll offer to read your fortune through tarot cards. In this path you can become an apprentice and work with alchemy, sorcery, and magic; either white or black. This path can also show you the ritual section as well from path 2.

[PATH 2: IF YOU SHOW UP IN THE NIGHTTIME]: If you stop by one of the shops a couple other hosts will frantically come up to you and him saying either: (1) they’re being followed or (2) they believe their friend has joined a cult. Depending on which subpath is done they can decide to investigate, do nothing, join the cult, or take the cult down. Guests may also, when they show up at night, stumble across AKIHIRO in the middle of some type of ritual. You also get the options to secretly watch, interrupt, continue to somewhere else. If you interrupt, he’ll either force you out of the shop or allow you to join. If you secretly watch, it’s a 50/50 chance of him acknowledging you even though you odn’t know he knows you’re there, or you can watch the whole ritual play out.

ROLE: SHOGUN’S SON

➣ SHIRO is programed to be loyal, indecisive, subservient, and withdrawn

➣ He is set to frequent the SINJU faction. He secretly goes to the SALSAI faction to be by himself. 

➣ He is the son next in line to take over the throne of the KASHINO EMPIRE.

➣ QUESTS: You are next in line for the throne of your kingdom; HATSUURA.  He’s also next in line for his parents throne in his kingdom, KASHINO. 

[PATH 1: YOU’VE CHOSEN THE SINJU FACTION]: Your two kingdoms are at war, but you two feel indifferent. You have the choice to help reconcile the two kingdoms gaining a friendship and allyship, or to run away together if you prefer the romance route. 

[PATH 2: YOU’VE CHOSEN THE SALSAI FACTION]: Without beginning in the SINJU world but instead in the SALSAI world you can meet him and start the journey of finding out about his backstory. Friendship route, and sometimes romance depending on choices, are easier to achieve in this version of the storyline. He won’t be upfront about who he is despite there being hidden guards that he is also unaware of.

“BONNIE AND CLYDE”

ROLE: SPY / CRIMINAL

FRIENDSHIP: MEDIUM

➣ CHANGMIN is programed to be narcissistic, logical, self-destructive, and intelligent.

➣ He is set to frequent in various places around the KIKORO faction; recently he’s been added to frequent the SINJU faction as well. He is a foreign spy who is trying to gain intelligence information for leverage purposes for his team.

➣ QUESTS: You’ll have two type narrative options depending on where you meet him; this also will decide what crime you’ll have the option to commit with him. 

[PATH1: YOU CHOOSE TO COMMIT THE CRIME WITH HIM]: For this path to begin you’ll need to overhear either a group of people talk about how a few crimes were going to be committed, or overhear him speaking to his team about the plans of the crime. You’ll have to option to either ignore, tell someone, or join him. If you continue to commit crimes with him, after some time you’ll have the choice of either going on the run as a bounty is put on his head; this is when the romance level option becomes available. Or you can choose to turn on him and claim the bounty for yourself. There is also an optional route where he could turn you in and escape.

[PATH 2: YOU BECOME COLLATERAL DAMAGE / HOSTAGE / ACCESSORY TO HIS CRIMES]: Simply wrong place, wrong time. You have the options of either talking him out of the crimes, joining him, killing him, or turning him in for the award money.

“BROKEN HEARTS GALLERY”

ROLE: MUSEUM EXHIBIT EMPLOYEE

FRIENDSHIP: EASY

ROMANCE: MEDIUM

➢ JOONWOO is programmed to be artistic, quiet, charming, and pessimistic

➢ He is an employee at the MODERN STREET art museum in the MANTAI district and will mainly be found here.

➢ Although he often frequents the TOUZAKI district as he lives above VIBE HOTEL in one of the rooms. As well as around LUCKY CAROUSEL, in the TOKJU district, where he can be seen sketching guests to make a little more money.

➢ QUESTS: Depending on where you meet him, will decide which of his narrative stories will play out:

[PATH 1 - YOU RUN INTO HIM AT THE MUSEUM]: He’ll approach you and ask about your favorite piece in the museum you’ve seen thus far or give you a small fact / his opinion on one of the paintings you’re in front of. Depending on the time you show up to the museum you can go down either the friendship route or the romance route. For the friendship route, it’ll become an option if you show up when the museum first opened or it’s midday. If you show up late at night or before the museum closes, the romance option will be available. In the later of the two he’ll speak about how he lost his previous lover who used to come to the museum all the time and how he’s been feeling. You can possibly try and solve the murder of his previous lover as a narrative path if you’re there later in the night. ➤ [Fastest way to go down the romance route]

[PATH 2 - YOU RUN INTO HIM AT LUCKY CAROUSEL]: He will not approach guests and will remain silent unless you come up to him and asked to draw you. This path can have a friendship or romance route. If you offer to pay him for the sketch of you he’ll politely decline even though you’ll witness him getting a little bit of money for a previous sketch. 

[PATH 3 - YOU RUN INTO HIM AT VIBE HOTEL]: If you are by the stairs when he comes down them he’ll accidentally bump into you ultimately spilling a drink over you. He’ll profusely apologize and offer to make it up to you somehow. It will most likely be a drink at one of the bars or dinner at one of the restaurants. He’ll rant about how society has gone into turmoil and that he’s going through a hard time. You have the choice of having the drink/dinner and continuing on with your journey or you can find a way to try and cheer him up and make him feel better.  ➤ [This route will only with a friendship option].

ROLE: BARTENDER

➣ JIWOO is programed to be understanding, funny, patient, and nosy.

➣ He is only found at the VIBE HOTEL as the Bartender in the TOUZAKI district. He also lives in one of the rooms above the bar. 

➣ He enjoys listening to people’s stories and the adventures they had before they came to get drinks; or where they plan on going afterwards. He is often quick-witted with his comments and comebacks when having conversations. If he is about to clock out and change shifts with another employee, he will offer to accompany guests on quests or trips around the cities. 

➣ Him speaking to you first only depends if you are by yourself at the bar. If you are, he will either: (1) ask what’s wrong + make small conversation, or (2) offer you a drink on the house. If you decline either option, he’ll either leave you alone and the narrative will not happen or the friendship route will be the only option available. 

➣ If not, he’ll be friendly to you and the other guests you’re with however the romance option will not be available. 

➣ QUEST: Will ask if you’d be able to help with getting the people who are lingering to leave as it’s nearing closing time. If you agree, he’ll offer you a few drinks in return. If you offer to help with cleaning and or helping with service, over time the romance option will increase. Once at a certain friendship or romance level and while drinking alone together at the VIBE HOTEL, he’ll confess to accidentally murdering another host while drunk. He’ll ask you to help with covering up the crime.

➢ He is set to frequent the MANTAI district, where he earns money performing on the side of the streets outside shops and buildings while trying to keep his cover by being someone else. As well in the MISSED CALLS STUDIOS building as he is one of the hosts signed under the company.

➢ Enjoys meeting new people and has endless stories programmed to have the capabilities of entertaining guests and having long conversations.

[PATH 1 - IF YOU RUN INTO HIM AROUND THE MANTAI DISTRICT]: He is trying to hide from fans who have spotted him shopping and will accidently bump into you. If you choose to stay where you are and not continue to another destination he will ask if you can help hide him. If you accept, the friendship route will begin. [OR] He’ll be performing outside a shop and will ask if you’d like to join him in performing the next song. If you accept a possible romance option could happen if you stay afterwards. If you accept and then leave only a friendship route can be applicable if you see him again. 

[PATH 2 - IF YOU RUN INTO HIM AT THE MISSED CALLED STUDIOS]: He is one of the beloved artists at MISSED CALLS STUDIOS. He’ll often help guests and other hosts with composing and writing songs. In this path he is having difficulty with writing a new song for a comeback. He’ll ask guests if they would like to help him write a song, If they accept to help him write one, the friendship option has begun. The longer you’re around the company and interacting with him and others, the romance option might begin. If declined, he’ll still be friendly with you but it will be harder to romance afterwards.

DEADLIGHTS, originally named KILL ORDER, is a 7 membered boy group that consists of former or current members of other idol boy groups. The final lineup was chosen at the end of the survival show PROJECT: WAY (WHO ARE YOU).The group was originally was supposed to debut a few months after the survival show ended but there was some complications with the other companies that some of the idols were signed under while being in their current or previous group. That led to the group finally debuting on MAY 23RD 2022.
