“Luckily it’s not all of them tonight.” Her aunt and uncle had called out on this one–wanting the children to represent the family and somewhere Ishaani wondered if that had a lot to do with everything that had happened since London and Jhanvi di’s kidnapping. “Otherwise you’d be stabbed with countless fictional daggers tonight,” she mused before asking him to dance. It hadn’t been completely spur of the moment–she had seen her Dev bhai decide to make eye contact with her and well–that couldn’t end well. She’d already disappointed him by messing up when it came to Abhimanyu and then she’d gone and fallen for the man who’d only been using her affections and well–Ishaani was feeling a bit down on herself lately and did not need her big brother to remind her of that. No–this was good, they’d dance and like always whenever she was with Rajat, she’d forget her worries. Ishaani was about to tell him before she felt his hands go in the appropriate spots, even if the lower one was perhaps lower than her family would’ve liked. “You’re doing great, definitely an 8.5. But we’ve only just begun,” she grinned before lowering her voice, “I’ve got to see if you’ve got any tricks up your sleeves right?”
__________
It didn't make much of a difference to him that it wasn't all the Yashvardhans. Old or young, they all hated him just the same. It was honestly kind of amusing to see the way Dev's nostrils flare any time he was within a foot of Ishaani and right now there was very little space between them as they danced. "I think you underestimate my skills. Clearly, something you and your little family have in common." He moved on the dancefloor smoothly, not one step out of rhythm from the music. "You know, you're not the only one getting chewed out every time we're seen together. My boss isn't exactly thrilled to see me around you either. I've made sure he knows it's strictly a booty call; in case you were worried."

[ad_1] Yashvardhan Dalal in action (PC: Yashvardhan Dalal/Insta) “I felt very good, For a moment, I couldn’t believe it,” Yashvardhan Dalal told RevSportz about his record-breaking innings in the CK Nayudu Trophy. “The kind of support that I received from the teammates, coaches; there was a great atmosphere that the record was all set to be broken.” The unbeaten 428 against Mumbai included as many as 46 boundaries and 12 sixes. The 465-ball effort also ensured that Haryana would post a thumping innings and 400-run victory. As the youngster neared the landmark, the Shri Ram Narain Cricket Club (SRNCC) ground in Sultanpur was filled with claps and roars. Dalal delved deeper to look back at his splendid effort. “The wicket was slow, it was good for batting, they opted to bowl, we wanted to bat for two and we succeeded in our goal. The players in the dressing room were pushing me, when I reached milestones – 200, 250 and so on.” On expected lines, as soon as Dalal broke the previous record of 312 held by Sameer Rizvi of Uttar Pradesh, enough cameras zoomed in on the 19-year-old as he hogged the limelight. But with any athlete, there is invariably a backstory of navigating through times. Dalal’s fledgling career also has had its share of ebbs and flows. It wasn’t long ago that the same player was having self-doubts about his career path: “I have been playing for Haryana since my Under-14 days, in Under-19 cricket, it hadn’t gone well for me, I used to feel sad about it, I didn’t give up, kept working hard,” he noted. So, how did it all start for Dalal? Was he interested in other sports? Did he have any formal training? Dalal, who is originally from Jhajjar, has this to say: “I started playing cricket when I was six. When I became older, it turned into my main interest. People were telling me, you can do something in this field. I joined SRNCC Academy (in Rohtak), where I got support, especially from Anirudh sir – former BCCI treasurer. We were getting facilities, there used to be camps. I used to travel 30-35 km by bus, so I used to travel up-and-down. My parents used to give me support right from my childhood days. My father (Shailendra Dalal) has a private job, he has never played cricket, when he got to know I was good at cricket, he made me take it up,” he noted. What about his future plans? Does he have a role model? Even before yours truly could complete the question, Dalal answered it in a flash, “Virat Kohli, it is Virat Kohli!” He further observed, “When it is going well, everyone admires him. But I like his attitude when it comes to how he reacts to bad times. I also like his consistency and temperament.” It is also true that he looks up to Kohli for his focus on red-ball cricket. His mindset goes against the modern-day trend of younger players choosing white-ball cricket as their preferred format. Hopefully, the marathon innings versus Mumbai is just a stepping stone for many more heroic efforts from his willow in the longest format of the game. Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Leonard Cohen, and a Pulitzer Prize-winning writer’s suicide, by Yashvardhan Jain:
It took Cohen over four years to write Hallelujah. It was a process filled with agony, writing over eighty verses, stuck in a cycle of writing and discarding. In one of the interviews Cohen gave later in his life, he talks about this torment.
And this which always encourages me in creating my own art:
And Hallelujah, the first song on the LP’s second side, went unnoticed. Nobody cared. It seemed Hallelujah was fated for a quick extinction and would disappear into the void like most music, like a ‘broken Hallelujah’.

My Dear Jhanvi,
We did it. We made it. After all the pain and doubt and the trials we were put through, we’re finally here on our wedding day. You have stood by me in my darkest hour and loved me when there was no certainty that things were ever going to go our way. I know you don’t ask for it, but you need to know that I am filled with gratitude for the selfless manner in which you love me.
I am going to live every day letting you know you just how much I love and cherish you. I am so excited to be Mr. Ben Yashvardhan, husband of Jhanvi Yashvardhan. (I know you were probably getting teary at that first part so I had to add a little something so you’d show off those ADORABLE dimples of yours.)
Your something borrowed, something old, and something new were all taken care, I know… But I let everyone know that I was going to be the one to give you your “something blue”. I can’t wait to see you wearing it when you walk down the aisle later today.
Yours Forever,
Ben
When Ishaani walked in with this gift—Jhanvi honestly didn’t know what to expect. Of course somewhere she’d had a feeling that Benjamin was going to bring tradition into their civil wedding and she wanted that as well, especially after sitting down with Grandma Carlisle and hearing her wish for Jhanvi to have her something old from her; diamond earrings that were currently in her ears. But before that, she didn’t know if she was going to go all out but then if she was going to be wearing a proper dress—why not add all the fun traditions to their day?
She pulled at the card first, needing a moment to read it to herself and even as she did—she felt those pesky tears forming in her eyes. However luckily the cameraman was there and he captured her expression and emotions on his memory card. She was tearing up at the words he’d said because only Ben and she knew what they’d both gone through to get to this point and for him to appreciate her love and to call it selfless, it was more than she’d anticipated. Loving him had so quickly become a part of her daily life—a necessity just like breathing that she hardly even realized it.
His words at becoming Mr. Ben Yashvardhan did have her giggle softly, rolling her eyes at him calling her dimples adorable but she could hardly be upset. It was quickly replaced with another emotion—one of awe as she read his words and smiled wide, loving that he was going to give her a part of her forever special wedding tradition.
Jhanvi pulled the box from the bag Ishaani brought with her and gently opened it, a gasp of delight falling from her lips as soon as she caught sight of the beautiful hair comb. It was stunning and it would go so well, not only with his grandma’s diamond earrings, but also the lovely singular diamond necklace she was wearing which was borrowed from her mother. She could not wait to have it in her hair, finishing off her look and showing him just how happy he made her. “Can someone…help me get this in my hair,” she said—her voice heavy with emotion now, “my fiancé and soon to be husband would like me to wear his special gift.”

Jhanvi may have come across as a very independent woman and she was to an extent but that didn't mean there wasn't a part of her that didn't give credit and value her family just as much. She was who she was because of the Yashvardhan name and the people it brought into her life. Even now as she stood there up at the altar, she could see the look of happiness on her parent's face and knew that was something she had been coveting for so long; approval for her relationship with this incredible man in front of her. She hadn't missed the way he'd looked back out at the crowd, a warning look in his eyes--absolutely fitting for the son-in-law of the Yashvardhan clan. It was enough to have her show off her dimpled smile before she looked back at the man she was marrying today. As he slipped the ring on her finger, she kept her gaze on his--loving just how perfect this entire moment was. She repeated the gesture, the words from the officiant being repeated as well before he grabbed her for their first kiss as man and wife and let out a little squeal as she leaned into him. "I love you," she whispered when they both finally broke apart, after loads of hooting and cheering from their crowd.
Ben knew that the both of them carried a lot of baggage and that not everyone was on board with their relationship initially. His eyes flickered past Jhanvi for a second if only to look upon Kiran and the way she beamed for joy. It wasn't that his bond with the younger Yashvardhan daughter had suddenly healed. No, it was more so that she was just so happy to see her sister finally getting the happiness she deserved. While Ben knew he had a lot of faults, he also knew he loved Jhanvi like no one else could. He wasn't going to let her go, that much was certain. The ceremony went as well as they could have hoped, but even Ben had his worries that someone would interrupt or object at their union when the time came for the officiant to ask. His eyes scanned the crowd in an uncharacteristic look of warning, wondering if any of those initial nay-sayers would have the gall to pipe up today. Thankfully none did and Ben slipped the wedding band onto his bride's finger. When their officiant finally announced jubilantly, "I now pronounce you husband and wife" Ben grinned so hard that his cheeks hurt. He couldn't even wait for them to give him permission to kiss his bride. Ben grabbed and went in for a deep kiss.
