ah, this is me, 2018. I like to shoot a bathroom selfie first so I could remind myself of the camera used later on.

This is my very much desired Yashica Lynx 14e, rangefinder with a big bright glass f1.4 45mm Yashinon lens. However this camera turned out to be the most uncomfortable, that I've used. It runs obsolete mercury batteries, so manual mode it is.

It's very heavy and bulky. All the settings are on the lens barrel, but too fiddly and hard to move. No doubt, the camera needs CLA, but I'm not convinced.

Yashica Lynx 1000 vs. 14E (IC): the size and weight difference is noticeable. The huge 45mm/1.4 lens and shear size of the body of the 14E make this camera a beast. By comparison, the Lynx 1000 is more similar to the size and weight of my Minolta XD-11. I am eager to test my ability to shoot at 1/1000 shutter speed. I happen to have another Lynx 1000 laying about for repair parts. This “parts” camera happens to have an operating light meter. I intend on removing this and installing it into the newer camera. I’ll perform a deep cleaning and light seal change at that time as well. The focus of this camera, and the rangefinder patch, seems to be good. I will find out soon enough if I have to calibrate the rangefinder.
