Today I'd like to show you another aceo I created, one I'm really happy with :) I tested my new ShinHan Pass paints and to do so I painted a small portrait of my Dalish elf Yasao, illustrating the moment when she is about to become a Grey Warden ♥  I'm really incredibly happy with how her eyes and the blue lights ended up looking *////* Her expression perfectly captures her inner turmoil at this life changing moment.

Curiosity killed the cat – oh, if only Tamlen had remembered this saying, when he and Yasao explored an abandoned ruin and eventually discovered a mysterious mirror... But no, the young elf felt rather drawn towards the artifact, he approached it quickly, ignoring his companion's warnings, who nonetheless tried to keep him from touching the mirror. She sensed the danger, felt instinctively that something was wrong – but too late, Tamlen didn't listen. She couldn't stop him – she couldn't save him...And she could never forgive herself for this. __________ And with this short, dramatic text to accompany my drawing, the “Inktober” 2017 comes to an end – and I gotta admit, I'm rather relieved it's over & that I made it. The illustration was rather difficult, not only because this scene from Dragon Age is a very, very emotional one for me. But I think I learned a lot regarding cross-hatching&ink and I'm quite happy with the finished result :)

My, it’s the last day of 2017, huh? I can hardly believe it, time flies. I don’t know how many of you are interested in seeing this, but I made a summary of this year’s art. Even though 2017 wasn’t entirely great when it comes to my personal life, I guess art-wise I can’t really complain, I did get to draw&paint a lot every month. The only thing I am not that happy about is that I still neglected my own characters *coughs* Despite the fact that I had planned to dedicate more time to original illustrations...But then again, drawing ZevYas and Dragon Age in general was too much fun *laughs*

Anyway! I hope you’ll all have a great start into 2018 - and I want to thank everyone who follows my art, here, as well as on Facebook. Your support means a lot to me ♥

Is anyone still here? O///O I know I haven’t been posting much (again), even though I do have a number of things I’d like to show you soon, including illustrations of one of my favorite novels, as well as more Dragon Age fanart... But for now, let me present this little WIP to you ♥

This year I’m participating in the drawing event dedicated to art done mainly in ink, the ”Inktober”.  The previous years I never joined the fun, simply because due to my time-consuming way of planning every piece of art thoroughly, right down to the smallest detail, it’s impossible for me to follow a given “list” and create an entirely new drawing every day. But this year I figured, why not join anyway, but do things differently? Rather than creating a whole new drawing from scratch every day, I'm spending the month working on a large (A4-sized) artwork, all entirely in ink :)

This is how far I've come so far. Do you recognize this heartbreaking moment? D//:

My, it’s been a while since I last was active here, please forgive me O//O And welcome to all the new followers, I’m very grateful you like my art ♥ Now..Let me present you one of my latest aceos. It was my 250th one so I wanted to celebrate this special occasion with a scene that's very dear to me: the very moment when Zevran proposed to Yasao, a few months after the Blight ended >///<  She absolutely didn't see this coming, after all, a lot like him, she thought marriage wasn't that important and she used to tell her foster-mother Ashalle she wasn't the “marrying-kind”.

Well, guess she was mistaken – and her mother was right all along, she simply didn't find the right guy before *giggles* ^///^ But now she did ♥

Do some of you remember the sketch I posted in March?  It took me ages to color this (I blame the hair!*laughs*) And that even though this is only ONE panel of a whole page. That goes to show why I should never draw comics, I treat every panel like a real painting *giggles* Buuuut I am sooo glad I FINALLY finished this one *///* It's one of my most favorite ZevYas scenes, simply because...Well. It's kind of romantic, isn't it? ♥

A little personal piece: it's based on my DA fanfiction, a story I call “the nightmare chapter” (not to be mistaken with the drean realm of the mages quest at the tower of Magi) . In it, a few members of the party are caught under some Wraith's curse and my Warden Yasao tries to save them, but she's all on her own (even though, in the end, someone comes to her aid, a person she least expected ♥). The problem is that in this cursed realm, she's been rid of her usual attire, that's why she's “clad like a beggar’s corpse“, to quote from my story – that's why she's wearing this linen dress and the random armor pieces. And unfortunately, a lot goes wrong...But despite being gravely injured, she keeps fighting to save her friends ^_^

...And that's precisely why I drew this >.>;; Because I'm currently feeling almost as “exhausted” as poor Yasi here, but I'm trying to keep fighting as well >////<  But enough about that...I hope that you like this little sketch. It’s still rough and unfinished, but it felt good to draw again. Do you think I should doodle stuff like this more often?

If you're wondering why it's a little quiet here atm, it's because I'm mostly working on items from my to-do-list during the day (mostly aceos that have to be kept secret still) and during the night I'm drawing panels for a private comic project about Zevran and Yasao – a kiiiinda NSFW one X//D

I'm trying to get out of my comfort zone by challenging myself to draw things I never dared before, such as complicated angles, as well as...*coughs* Certain details. My, it makes me blush so much, I can tell you that X//D; What you see here is the sketch of one of the panels >//u//<

WIP - I forgot to show you my progress of this drawing of Zevran and my Warden Yasao ♥ The two of them are finished, now all that’s needed is the easy part: the background x3 

And for those who are interested, I added step-by-step photos of how I built up the colors of Yasi’s hair - because do you see the pile of pencils there? I needed them ALL for it *giggles*

Here’s an illustration of my Dalish elf Yasao Mahariel that means quite a bit to me, it‘s called “Departure” and shows her as she leaves her clan for good to become a Grey Warden.

If you’re interesed, I attached an excerpt of my Dragon Age: Origins fanfiction below, the very one this drawing is based on.

The night felt short and morning came far too quickly. Still, ere the first beam of sunlight could grace the land, Yasao rose. She dressed, buckling on her armor with great care and when she finally reached for her weapons, she cast her former home a last glance.

What little trinkets she had gathered in the past twenty-three years of her life, she was leaving them all behind. She knew there was no place for baubles like this on a battlefield – all she needed and took with her, were her bow and arrows, as well as her sword and her shield. The only exception was the Keeper’s ring and her mother’s amulet, these she would cherish forever – and they’d always remind her of her Dalish roots.

At last, she left her aravel, finding herself amazed that even at this early hour, the whole clan was waiting for her... They assembled to see her off – and this deeply touched her heart. Many wished her a safe journey, some handed her useful items for the way, supplies, potions and the like, and others expressed the hope to see her again some day, when the Blight was over. And even Merrill, off all people, muttered a few encouraging words to her, giving her a little smile.

Fenarel struggled with himself, he hated to see her leave. This was the last chance to tell her how he felt, but when Yasao suddenly gave him a hug, he was utterly surprised. “Be safe, my friend.” She whispered tenderly and the young hunter blushed deeply. “You...You too.” He only managed to utter speechlessly, before his childhood-friend turned to Marethari, to bid her farewell as well. “Da’len... The clan will always carry you in their hearts. Remember us too, always.” She spoke kindly and the huntress nodded. “I will, Keeper. I won’t forget you.” She replied and finally stepped towards Duncan.

Together with him, she walked up a steep path, but before she left for good, she cast one last look over her shoulder. Yasao swallowed, fighting with her tears for the very first time in her life. No... She wouldn’t forget them. Her clan... Her family. But then, she walked onwards, following the Grey Warden in silence.

With this, her life began anew – this was her destiny. She was to become a Grey Warden and though she had yet to learn what this really meant, she swore to embrace her fate, without the slightest doubt. Come what may... She was going to fight – for the sake of her clan and all of Ferelden.

Oh my... It's sure been a while ever since I last posted something here, isn't it? But today I have something very special to show you... It's my 200th aceo, entitled “Sweet Nothings” ♥ I knew I wanted to draw Zevran and Yasao to celebrate this special occasion (after all they were also on my 100th aceo) and for the first time in what feels like forever, I used only black&white ink and pencils for shading. It's also the first time I really got to draw the complete designs I made for the two of them, after all they can't always wear their armors and needs some casual clothes too, don't you think? ^//^ It's much more comfortable to cuddle like this too *giggles* And Zevran takes advantage of the fact that they sneaked away from their group to whisper some naughty poems to Yasao ♥ I really hope many of you will see this and that you'll like it, because as I said, this drawing is very important to me.

A WIP of a small ZevYas drawing I’m working on~♥ As you can see, I really love cross-hatching - it’s so fascinating to see how a few lines can create the illusion of texture & the differences between light and shadow. I’m only just getting started with this one, though >//u//<

Oh, and their clothes? Those are somet things I designed for the both of them, I figured in camp they might want to wear something more comfy rather than their armor. But you can’t imagine how picky Zev was when it came to designing his boots - I suppose he wouldn’t settle for anything less than original, Antivan leather *laughs*

Yaaay I finally finished a digital art piece again *o* ♥ Although it's just a simple self-portrait (since, as you may know, that's my Dragon Age OC Yasao), I simply needed to convince myself that I don't totally suck when it comes to painting in Photoshop *laughs* After all I've mainly painted traditionally these past months, with the exception of some sketches and an unfinished work here or there... But I kinda doubted my skills, especialy since I never got to finish anything. I know I still have a lot to learn, that is for sure, but I'm proud of this painting, which is rather rare for me.

And the OC Challenge continues with Part 7 -  my Warden Yasao has to wear a dress. Well... What can I say, other than "Leliana approves +5"? XDD This is EXACTLY why she didn't get to pick Yasao's clothes for the ceremony at the end of the game. I mean honestly, can you imagine a tough warrior like Yasao in a dress like this? I can't. I also think if she were to wear this, she absolutely wouldn't mind if Zevran ripped the clothes right off of her body. Hmm... Now that's a thought >//u//> ♥
